"This Williamsburg spot makes a bunch of gluten-free options with things like brown rice, beans, avocado, cilantro, and some special garlic sauce. It tastes like a plate of nachos that started playing sports (in an excellent way). You can make anything vegan here, and every bowl costs less than $12." - Hannah Albertine, Nikko Duren

"Brown rice, beans, avocado, cilantro, black olives, cheddar, sour cream, salsa, and some garlicky special sauce. Those are the only nine ingredients in the gluten-free bowls at The Whole Bowl in Williamsburg, and together they taste like a nacho platter that turned in its cleats for a spot on the student council. They can be made vegan, and they come in three different sizes - 12, 16, and 24 ounces - which are all less than $12." - Matt Tervooren

The Whole Bowl is the perfect place for a quick bite on a cold day when all you want to do is eat something warm and filling without any fuss. The bowl isn’t anything exceptional, but that’s kind of what makes it so good. It’s a delicious and familiar meal that, in theory, you could make at home (but you’re too lazy to). Their Tali sauce is delicious! The service is very attentive and super friendly and the space is cute. You’ll enjoy this place if you like eating grain bowls, tacos, and chili in your sweatpants. You won’t like this place if you’re looking for a culinary adventure. Come here if you’re looking for comfort food.

A wholesome and healthy bowl of only 9 ingredients: brown rice, black and red beans, avocado, cilantro, olives, Tillamook cheddar, sour cream, salsa and Tali Sauce! The Whole Bowl is perfect for those with a vegetarian or vegan diet (you can omit the cheese and sour cream), those who are indecisive on what to order (there’s only one choice!), and for those who are in the Williamsburg area wanting to try something new and delicious. The only thing you have to decide on when you visit is what size bowl you want to eat: - Bambino Bowl (12 oz) for $8.95 - Big Bowl (16 oz) for $9.95 - Insatiabowl (24 oz) for $11.95 - Hyperbowls (feeds 10) for $55 [party timeee] It’s super farm-to-table. When I ordered my Big Bowl a few days ago at The Whole Bowl, I opted for all the ingredients, minus the cilantro. There was a spicy version, but my milder version already had a nice kick to it. The pairing of the side of kimchi was perfect - a different pop of flavor after intaking spoonfuls of my Whole Bowl. The quality of all the ingredients were great and I love the Tali Sauce. The Tali Sauce seems to be something special to only a couple of businesses in Portland when I googled what it consisted of (which was a lot of ingredients). It is creamy, lemony, and garlicky - made my bowl that much more flavorful when mixed up with the rest of the ingredients I love WB’s interior green plants decor. It is bright, fresh, clean, and has a seating area that could fit about 15 people. Their cute slogan “It’s Like Eating A Hug” is lighted up on the wall. The Whole Bowl is originally from Portland, Oregon, so I wish them the best in their East Coast expansion!

Absolutely delicious! I got the Big Bowl with everything. Freaking delicious 😋. I feel full but not stuffed I am fired up for the afternoon. Space is absolutely gorgeous too. Bright beautiful design and ingredients must be super fresh as they taste amazing (I'm a chef too) Only "down" more options? Nah it was perfect

Tasty, convenient, and filling. The tali sauce is delicious. The food itself is overpriced but let’s be real, you’re paying for the convenience, and at least they pack a TON of food into the bowls. It would be nice if they included some veggies though, to make the meal less dense. Shout out to the cool and friendly staff with great taste in music!

the guy was friendly. but then the breakfast taco came like this. as you can see by my profile, i am a breakfast taco enthusiast...so was very excited when i saw that this place around the corner from me started serving them. i still ate it of course and the contents inside the burnt shell were tasty. but there was just a lack of attention paid to the time this spent on the grill and it shouldn’t have been sent out. i liked the rice element and it wasn’t overstuffed like too many breakfast tacos are. salsa seemed like store bought lame jar salsa. feedback is a gift so hoping they can improve here.

I walked by today and they had samples so naturally I took one and WOW!!!! Like, I don't even like sour cream but I ate it up. It is absolutely delicious and I will be ordering from there soon. I felt refreshed after eating it quite frankly. So so good!!!

If you're ever in the mood for something healthy, filling and not too heavy in Williamsburg, this is the place for you. The L train isn't too far away from Whole Bowl and I was able to take the bus straight back home. I came after work and I was able to get there relatively quickly after dealing with the mass hysteria that is rush hour. When we got to Whole Bowl, my friend and I were greeted by the person working there. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very welcoming. The decor was very minimal. White with wood accents and a lot of plants. I enjoyed the small pots of the jade plant on each table. It made me wonder if this restaurant gets a lot of natural light during the day. When you order in the front, you can choose from 4 sizes. Bambino ($8.95 small), Big Bowl ($9.95 medium), Insatiable ($11.95 large) and the Hyperbowls ($55 party size). I think the prices for the sizes were very average. Not cheap but not crazy expensive. It was definitely worth the price after I got to eat the bowl. The bowl itself consists of brown rice, black and red beans, avocado, cilantro, black olives, Tillamook cheddar, sour cream, salsa and Tal sauce. I really enjoyed all mix of flavors and ingredients. It didn't feel like I was even missing meat because of how hearty it was. While waiting for my bowl to be made, I had a chance to talk to the person making the bowl ( I completely forgot his name, I apologize!) I learned about the Whole Bowl itself and how this was the it first east coast location. The original one started in Portland and became successful enough to expand here. I am very excited to see them in more location! Overall I had a great experience and had a delicious healthy dinner. If I'm ever in the neighborhood, I would come back for round 2!

A perfect place for a full healthy delicious meal. I’m typically a meat eater but this place is a definite return. Their lemon garlic sauce is AMAZING with the rice and the salsa on the beans is just phenomenal. Love this spot.
