Wild Fig - Review - Aspen - The Infatuation

"After a brief hiatus while relocating to the building next door, this Aspen standby is back and even better. Revamped in more spacious digs, the European brasserie ambiance has been dialed up to 11, with mirrored menus on the walls, black and white tiled floors, and rich red banquettes. You’ll find the staples it’s always been known for, like cheesy French onion soup and fish in a bag, which hits you in the face with a puff of buttery steam upon opening. Start with the oven-roasted campari tomatoes with prosciutto and a pillow of burrata, followed by clams with spicy chorizo, or the simple yet perfect filet mignon in a cognac green peppercorn demi with a side of frites and asparagus to share." - Katie Shapiro

Wild Fig offers an exceptional Aspen dining experience, renowned for its meticulous preparation and commitment to quality. The whole fish, expertly cooked, was outstanding, complemented by perfectly prepared, crisp-tender asparagus. The restaurant provides excellent value, considering the high quality of food and service.

The appetizer plate (Greek spreads) was good but not great. My fig salad on the other hand was a great mix of flavors. My husband’s moules frites was a non standard style with coconut curry flavor he said was very good, but the fries were just ok, but we both prefer extra crispy so this may be great for most. We both had cocktails that were very nice. The ambience is very romantic and I really liked the decor. Service was excellent.

Really enjoyed our meal at the Wild Fig. I ordered the Fish in a Bag, which was salmon with zucchini and tomatoes. Absolutely delicious. The wait staff was professional, friendly, and efficient. Gorgeous, intimate restaurant and a great choice for fine dining in Aspen.

I almost canceled my reservation at The Wild Fig due to a few recent negative reviews, but I’m glad I didn’t. This place was outstanding in every way. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with charming architecture and perfect lighting that set the tone for a cozy yet elegant dining experience. The service was absolutely top-notch—attentive, friendly, and professional. And the food? Incredible! Every dish we tried was a standout. The French onion soup was rich and flavorful, the fig salad was fresh and perfectly balanced, the lamb shank was fall-off-the-bone tender, and the pasta was cooked to perfection.

The Wild Fig is a really cute Italian restaurant in the heart of Aspen. I went with a big group of people and it was amazing overall. The menu serves a lot of fresh Northern Italian dishes and the drinks are delicious too. Staff are very warm and welcoming.

Cozy little restaurant. You must first reserve a table. I was here in the evening, there were no free tables, all the places were occupied. Delicious Italian food and friendly staff. Be sure to try the signature dishes, these recipes have not changed for many years. I also liked the serving of bread, fresh warm, wrapped in a towel.

Had an amazing time here. My wife and I came for some cocktails and a snack. I cannot recommend this place enough. The service was attentive and engaging. The drinks and steak tartar were fantastic. Lastly the atmosphere was perfect. They were busy but still maintained a great ambience and it wasn’t loud somehow either. If you are in the area make a stop by here and enjoy!
