The 17 Best Restaurants In Aspen - Aspen - The Infatuation

"After a brief hiatus while relocating to the building next door, this Aspen standby is back and arguably even better. Revamped in more spacious digs, the European brasserie ambiance has been dialed up to 11, with mirrored menus on the walls, black and white tiled floors, and rich red banquettes. You’ll find the staples it’s always been known for, like cheesy French onion soup and fish in a bag, which hits you in the face with a puff of buttery steam upon opening. Start with the oven-roasted campari tomatoes with prosciutto and a pillow of burrata, followed by clams with spicy chorizo, or the simple yet perfect filet mignon in a cognac green peppercorn demi with a side of frites and asparagus to share." - katie shapiro

Our server was Blake and she, along with her team, were very attentive to the point of quality service. We started with the French onion soup. We weren't sure if the soup was going to be on the salty side, since most places serve it that way. But it wasn't salty at all. It had excellent flavor and lots of onions, just like it should be. I tried the roasted chicken rubbed with a Moroccan spice. It was cooked perfectly and had great flavors. The pan jar was soooo good. Loved it. My wife tried the salmon in a bag special. Again perfectly cooked and flavorful. They have a beautiful outside patio like seating but it was too cold for the restaurant to use when we were there.

My wife and I had the most incredible dining experience at The Wild Fig — truly the best I’ve had anywhere in the U.S. We started with a spectacular cocktail and a fig salad featuring port-marinated figs that set the tone for the night. My wife had the risotto special, I had the steak special, and we also shared a side of pasta — every dish was perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The sommelier took amazing care of us, pairing everything beautifully and making the evening feel personal and memorable. From start to finish, it was a flawless experience — warm, elegant, and unforgettable. We’ll be talking about this dinner for a long time.

We stopped in Aspen for the night before heading to Maroon Bells and decided to try The Wild Fig after exploring the downtown restaurants. The dining space was lovely, with a charming setup indoors and a beautiful patio where we enjoyed a magnificent June evening. We shared some truffle fries, which were mostly tasty. My boyfriend ordered a New Fashioned, which he enjoyed. I, however, was very disappointed with my entrée. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass, expecting the delicate, buttery flavor that this dish is known for. Instead, the fish was firm and overly fishy—qualities that immediately suggested it was not fresh. At $64 for a very small portion, it was extremely underwhelming and frankly appalling to be served what tasted like an old piece of fish. The atmosphere and service were nice, but the quality of my meal did not match the price point or reputation.

A delicious, lively and classy meal. We stopped by and sat at the bar on a Monday evening. The bartender was very entertaining! I asked for advice about dinner and the hostess gave an excellent recommendation. I had the chicken Milanese from the bar menu. It was so good! My husband had a perfect martini and the salmon in a bag. Bravo!!

Good service and nice place but do not make the same mistake than us and order Italian in a French restaurant Don’t know why they offer more Italian dishes than French for lunch but not the best We ordered burrata and prosciutto , caccio e peppe pasta, and ravioli with lobster and anything was good Didn’t order the tiramisu but amazed they have more Italian than French and the espresso machine was not working ! More than 400 usd for lunch for 2 pax

Wild Fig offers an exceptional Aspen dining experience, renowned for its meticulous preparation and commitment to quality. The whole fish, expertly cooked, was outstanding, complemented by perfectly prepared, crisp-tender asparagus. The restaurant provides excellent value, considering the high quality of food and service.

Got the rack of lamb special they had, Tasted very gamey. No one that I went with liked their meal. My fiancé got a steak and he thought it was just okay. My mom got fish and thought it was average. None of our food was worth the money. We probably spent close to $600-800 on our dinner and it wasn’t good. The burrata was the best thing there but we asked for more bread for our appetizers to eat it with and they didn’t bring more bread out til our meal came which was like 30 minutes after we had gotten our apps. Cute restaurant though.

Really expected more after eating at 316 in both locations , monarch, and woody creek many times. Not sure how this place is from the same owners. We have had many drinks with Craig over the years and I'm left confused after our dinner last night. The $50 dessert trio was comically overpriced and bad. The seafood risotto and veal dish were excellent. The service was very attentive until the whole staff stood at the bar and looked at each others phones for 20 minutes while we were waiting to order our entrees. 5:30 to 6:30 on 10/19 if you want to look at the cameras.
