"There’s a Korean barbecue spot in Soho. Perhaps you don’t believe us - but it’s true, and you can get some extremely good beef there. This place is called The Woo, and it’s a two-story space located behind a discrete entrance on Spring Street near 6th Avenue. It’s a tiny bit pricier than some of your other Korean bbq options (you’ll probably spend around $60 per person), but the meat is exceptional, especially the tender bulgogi that soaks up its marinade like an overachieving student at a lecture." - hannah albertine, bryan kim

"The Woo is a two-story Korean barbecue spot in Soho with fancy beaded curtains and big marble tables with grills in the middle. It’s a tiny bit pricier than some other spots around town, but the meat is great, especially the marinated bulgogi. So if you want to have a fun group meal downtown and don’t mind spending around $60 per person (just on food), this place is a good option. It doesn’t get too busy, it’s perfect for something last-minute as well." - Bryan Kim

"The Woo, spearheaded by Julie Choi, whose family also runs Bann in Midtown, is a new iteration of a restaurant her mother used to run on Mercer Street, which shuttered after a 12-year run in 2011. Then called Woo Lae Oak, the restaurant was credited with expanding Korean fare outside the confines of Koreatown, long before the sizzling, grill-it-yourself experience became mainstream." - Carla Vianna

Very chill Korean BBQ spot. Lighting is a tad too dark though. Attentive service. Would recommend the Korean fried chicken and short ribs. The Asian Glow cocktail was also refreshing.

Google
Unfortunately not as good as before in all aspects. The duck rolls tasted like leftover mystery meat. Heavy sauce in bimbimbap. Kalbi is still ok but such a stingy portion for restaurant week. The server was like a fast food counter order taker. The hostess was not there when we arrived. Sadly won’t be back again.

Some of the dishes my wife and I ordered were well cooked but overall the food tasted average. The dishes were overpriced in my opinion. Kal Bi was delicious with a great marinade. We asked for no eggs in the dish (Bok Kum Bap) but unfortunately it came with eggs. The staff was friendly.

The last time when I m here is like 10 years ago. Food is still amazing. Especially the short ribs. Post pandemic it is so tough to hire enough server. Service is not as attentive as before. It is still a good place to enjoy Korean bbq

Alex

Google
It's one of my local favorites and a great place for good Korean BBQ in a quiet setting. Best dish is the Kal Bi (boneless short rib) and I'm also a fan of the Yun Aw (salmon). Both dishes are nicely marinated, juicy and delicious

I loved everything about this place. The service, the atmosphere, THE FOOD & drinks. I went for my birthday with my friend and we had the restaurant week menu. Everything was absolutely perfect. The service?! Waow. I didn’t take enough pictures but I promise you. You will enjoy it here. Thank you! I’ll be back.

Google
Lovely restaurant with friendly staff and good service. The food is delicious - we really enjoyed the marinade on the barbeque meats, the glass noodles and the ox bone broth! Cocktails were also great.

Google
Some phenomenal food and drinks - we got most of the appetizers as a "group meal" option. Glass noodles, duck breast, dumplings, steak tartare, lychee martini, summer picnic were some of the ones i remember. Along with the bbq meat selection. Everything was delicious, service was great. Food was all hot too. For 7 of us the total with tip was about $600 which considering most of us had at least one drink and the volume of food, is pretty fantastic. I would absolutely come here again! If not just for those apps.

Yelp
Pretty solid kbbq, quick service and they cook it for you! Cute & cozy atmosphere good for a small group. Meat quality is exceptional, can't go wrong here but try the short rib.

Yelp
Came in for dinner during Restaurant Week. I was cautiously optimistic since reviews of this place were quite positive, even though the prix fixe menu price was def on the higher side. Unfortunately my hopes did not quite pan out at all. For our first course, the two of us ordered the mandu and the bossam buns. The mandu was average - fillings were not that flavourful, and the pan fried wrapper was a little bit too thick. The bossam bun was very inauthentic; the pork slice was more like roasted char siu meat instead of the lighter, boiled pork shoulder/belly for bossam, and the buns felt more suitable for Taiwanese gua bao or something rather than bossam. It tasted fine, but not quite what I was expecting. The second course was a bowl of japchae and a bow of salad. The japchae was fine - nothing special, and def not worth a sixth of the price of this meal. The salad was also just OK? the chili vinaigrette was too heavy for my taste and the actual veggies tasted pretty meh in and of themselves. We ordered the kalbi jim and sangyupsal for the third course. The sangyupsal was actually pretty good (the high point of the meal, I think) - meat was tender and cooked well. (I say this somewhat facetiously because we cooked this ourselves.) The kalbi jim was not good. First, I think it could plausibly have been confused for a boeuf bourguignon dish or something. It was kind of odd that galbi jim came boneless (can't remember ever having had that before), but worse, it was weird that it had none of the texture or flavour of short rib (much more like the type of chuck roast / brisket in beef stews in Western cuisines). Also, the soy glaze basically had no flavour? not even the minimally expected saltiness; and overall the meat was dry and hard to chew. All in all, not a great meal, to say the least - and to think it came out to be around $130 for 2 people? I already complain about how expensive dining out is in NYC nowadays, but for this price, I can think of loads of better Korean restaurants out there.

Yelp
This was one of my favorite kbbq experiences. The vibe felt comfortable helped by the music playing and the dimly lit setting. We got the premium set and it was good for 5 of us and I loved every item. The service was good and kind.

Bria D.

Yelp
So little of what I ate during my dinner felt like authentic Korean food. The buns were bland, chicken wings were okay (albeit slightly tough), but the 김치볶음밥 (bokkeumbap) was straight up criminal. It was so greasy and tasted only like the oil it was cooked in. It was extremely bland. I ended up asking for gochujang and soy sauce to try to doctor it up at the table, but adding the flavour after the fact was not going to help. I managed to make it taste better, but the oiliness was overpowering. I left most of it uneaten. The 1 additional star above the default 1 star is for the service and the wings. I feel sad to say this given how attentive the staff was, but this was easily the worst Korean fried rice I've ever had. If the rice dish is to be considered Korean-fusion, it is still doing a disservice to bokkeumbap. I had $8.00 덮밥 (deopbap, specifically bulgogi) in a cute little Flushing eatery the week prior and the flavours were stellar! It's such a shame that this place that has great decor and ambiance could be such a disappointment.

Yelp
Came here during our recent trip to NYC as I am recently diagnosed Celiac disease and heard that the korean BBQ in NYC is delicious. I was impressed with the level of clarity that came while ordering gluten free. We were a group of 5 and ended up ordering the group entree, asking for our meats to be swapped with gluten free soy sauce. I loved being able to enjoy most of the appetizers (I did not try the wings nor the dumplings). My fave appetizer was the tartar. The meat was high quality, and we were easily able to split between the 5 of us, leaving satisfied and not overly stuffed. The fried rice was also super delicious! They kept bringing out kimchi which we love. The place itself is upscale and classy. There were lots of people celebrating birthdays.

Jen T.

Yelp
Food is fine, but not worth the price. We got 2 main, 1 pancake, 1 beer, total ~130 w tips. The kimchi pork is VERY salty. Also you got very little banchan (3 tiny ones). For me better to go to Ktown

Huiwen C.

Yelp
The service and restaurant interior was nice, but the food was not that great. The food is more closer to Korean fusion, so be careful and don't expect authentic Korean food. 1) Beef Tatare or Yookhwe - this was still frozen when brought to the table, but the flavor was nice. We couldn't really mix it up because of how icy the dish was 2) Tteokbokki - savory, but did not taste like tteokbokki at all and strangely had zucchini in it. The sauce was not the normal tteokbokki sauce and the rice cakes are cut smaller. 3) Korean fried chicken - probably the best dish. The chicken was crispy and very saucy. However the bottom pieces that have been in the sauce for a while were salty. 4) Also had bibimbap and yookgaejang - both were just okay, I wouldn't recommend ordering

Bre M.

Yelp
One of the few places I would recommend for Korean food outside of K-town! Restaurant is large and can easily accommodate large parties so perfect for parties and other events. Meats also come in large portions which are perfect for sharing. Staff is fairly hands off here and I have found that I have to prompt them in order to order, ask questions, etc. but otherwise would highly recommend!

Albert L.

Yelp
The last time when I was here is like ten years ago. Short ribs is as good as before. Other dishes such as seafood pancakes, braised beef, dessert are not bad

Yelp
I visited here with my cousins for a birthday meal, and the fixed menu is great for a big party! Even amazing as the food was the lychee martini. Well worth a try.

Katrina W.

Yelp
My friends and I came here last weekend and I absolutely loved the food. My friend and I shared the Korean Fried Chicken, Bo Ssam Buns, and Kalbi Jim. We also ordered a bottle of soju but I wouldn't recommend getting alcohol here as it's severely overpriced at $24 for one bottle. The food, while pricier, is soooo worth. The portions aren't massive, but you can tell that it's great quality. All 3 food items were amazing. It was crispy where it needed to be and super soft/tender where it was supposed to be. I would love to come back here!

Jessy R.

Yelp
Came here for a business dinner and KBBQ is always a fun experience for all! It took a bit of time to get seated for our reservation and seemed that it was fairly busy here for a Tuesday night. It does get pretty warm in the restaurant given the table grills + NYC summer heat, but it seemed like they were doing as much as they could to make it more comfortable here, but my group was sweating by the end of our meal. The food was overall great! We started with Korean fried chicken, buns, and kimbap. The chicken was everyone's favorite! Buns were tasty but lacked much pork belly on the bun and the kimbap was decent but not traditional. Additionally we got dol sot bibimbap which was good as well. For our BBQ we got a mix of pork belly, spicy bulgogi, and regular bolgogi. Highly recommend a variety of meats if you've never done KBBQ before. Overall we had a fun experience, service was attentive, and the food was good.

Yelp
Came to The Woo with some friends to participate in Restaurant Week 2022. That basically means we had a pre-fix menu of some of the best selling dishes. You get to pick an app (out of 4 options), everyone got a glass noodle salad and the entree got to be picked out of proteins for KBBQ or a rice bowl. For an app, I went with their mandu dumplings. They were extremely filled with meat, the dough was not too much and cooked well. Overall a good dumpling. Loved the glass noodle salad, it also came with a small green leaf side salad with a gochujang dressing. Great little buffer between the app and your main entree, though I should have saved it to have with my KBBQ. For our entree, we (the three of us) decided to pick three different proteins and share everything. We went with the shrimp, bul go gi (thinly sliced beef) and a spicy bul go gi. The beef was cut super thin and we got a lot, the shrimp was a bit more skimpy with only 5 pieces. We also thought the spicy bulgogi wasn't actually spicy, just had a marinade on it with some paprika and pepper. For the three of us they only gave one small portion of the sides to go with the meat for the KBBQ. Not even a portion for one person. We had to ask multiple waiters (because we didn't have a main waiter) to bring us more. After the fifth time we asked they finally brought more out to us. Kind of wished we had one assigned waiter, instead of so many people stopping by every few minutes.

Yelp
Went here for restaurant week and had an amazing time. The inside is super chic - felt like we had privacy but not secluded. Great for a date night of fun dinner with friends. All of the food was really tasty. My favorite was the bugolgi beef, I thought the marinade was very delicious! Will be back!!

Allison C.

Yelp
Good tartare and pretty average bbq selection - the one thing I wouldn't get again was the kimchi stew (super sour and kind of hard to eat) but pretty on par for Manhattan

Elizabeth X.

Yelp
Came for restaurant week and it was a good deal. A good amount of KBBQ, and we ordered some additional apps. The chicken wings are SPICY and came out piping hot. Staff is friendly. Big tables, big space upstairs. They didn't seat anyone downstairs when we arrived. Good for groups.

Yelp
Conveniently located near the Spring Street Station (C and E trains), The Woo boasts an eclectic variety of modern Korean cuisine. If you are coming to this restaurant on a Friday or Saturday night, be sure to make a reservation as tables are usually full over the weekend. Since we are in a pandemic, you will need to bring your vaccination card and ID that matches the vaccination card with the host/hostess. NYC requires vaccinations for indoor dining. Even if you are not vaccinated, they will try to accommodate you by seating you in their outdoor seating area. However, winter is rapidly approaching where the frigid cold temperatures may not be so pleasant for outdoor dining. In recognition of the colder temperatures, I decided to have a nice warm soup and placate my Korean food cravings. I ordered the Kalbi Tang accompanied by a bowl of rice. Kalbi Tang is a beef short rib soup with scallion and daikon. For my appetizer, I had the Ke Sal Mari which is a mini Spanish crepe stuffed with crab and leek. My dinner was absolutely delicious. I felt completely satisfied at the end of my dinner. Those couple of tequila shots and Lychee Martini also contributed to the wonderful dining experience. The staff at The Woo were extremely friendly. They took the time to explain the various dishes and assisted with pairing the food with the appropriate alcoholic paring.

Song C.

Yelp
Checked this place out last night. Although the ambiance was upscale, the food was not good. I ordered my goto which was the bibimbap. Presentation wise looked fine (except very oily looking maybe from too much sesame oil) but it was bland. Even the gochujang did not help. I can't handle too much spice but i just had to add more gochujang just to see if it improved the taste. This may rank up there as the worst bibimbap I've had. My friend ordered the soodubu which was definitely tastier.

Daryll M.

Yelp
Recently went for a late date night. We were able to walk in around 8pm on a Saturday and we luckily snagged an open grill table. Overall it was a solid experience and a little more intimate than the larger Korean/Japanese BBQ joints. We really enjoyed the kimbap sushi roll as an app and for our mains we got salmon and the pork belly. The salmon was pretty excellent and the pork belly was decent, I probably should have gone with one of the higher end cuts but didn't want to break the bank. We also ordered a bottle of yuzu which wasn't the tastiest I've had. Most importantly they were great with gluten free knowledge and didnt trigger any celiac symptoms so we'll definitely be going back. The only downside was because this is a hotel restaurant, there were a couple tables with some loud tourists but it wasn't too bad. All in all, we prefer this experience to some of the more chainy BBQ joints in the city. Solid 4.4/5!

Michael T.

Yelp
This must have been some of the best Korean food i have ever had. The atmosphere was great. It was easy to talk to people.

Karen S.

Yelp
Solid Korean food joint. Came here for restaurant week and wish I opted for a la carte (restaurant week menu was a bit pricy and they upcharge alot - I'd rather have just gone and picked from the regular menu). BAO buns were soft and delicious. Traditional Korean braised beef was soft and melt in your mouth. As good as it was, I don't think I'll be back.

Esther A.

Yelp
This place was a hidden gem! Especially in the location it is, you would think it would be really expensive, but it was extremely affordable. My friend and I were starving so our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs. We got the Korean fried chicken, the pork belly, a lot of rice, and the salad and all the other side dishes. Everything was amazing! The service, however, I think could use a bit of help. It took a while for our water to come, but as soon as we ordered, the food came out extremely quickly. I also love the fact that you could cook the meat yourself. And the overall ambience of the restaurant was very upscale. Definitely will come back !

Nadia A.

Yelp
What a wonderful time to catch with a friend during restaurant week! The atmosphere of the restaurant is very calm and chill. Great to catch up with friends or have a date night. The menu was far from disappointing as could barely finish the third course. The pork buns and fried chicken, yum ! (Korean fried chicken always a win). Salad and noodles so delish did not expect to get both. Had a little of cooler entrees and cook for yourself and we enjoyed all of it, the flavor was all there with every dish and the staffs service made everything great. Would definitely come back and recommend giving a try!

Bridgette G.

Yelp
Made reservations for our visit to Manhattan based on amazing reviews and suggestions. And..well, our choice did not disappoint. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating upon our arrival. The waiter did excellent with his suggestions. We went with the classic group combo and substituted the shrimp for their spicy bul gogi. The spicy chicken wings were LITERALLY finger licking good. The crab rolls were so tasteful, and the tuna tartar was delicious. Loved loved loved all our meat options and the pork belly was my favorite. Is it pricey? Absolutely. Is it worth it? Yessssss!!!

Susan K.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Fun atmosphere and great service. I would definitely come back. We had the Bul Go Gi and it was perfect to prepare at the table.

Mars G.

Yelp
For the price, I was disappointed with the food. I picked up my order of kimchi stew and kimchi stir fry, which are both simple, homey dishes, but both had upfront issues. The Kimchi stew was soo sandy, I have no idea what it could be, but it felt like I was chewing through grains. The taste otherwise was good, but it also contained so few tofu and meat pieces, I'd say maybe 4/5 pieces in the entire soup container. The stir fry was also tasty but WAY too salty, even for someone who loves dishes on the saltier side. Overall I could have spent $10-15 fewer ordering from Hanok but thought I'd splurge on higher quality, but seems this was not the case here. Ambiance inside looks nice though, so could be more of a vibes than food type of place.

Melissa L.

Yelp
Came here with my bestie tonight for restaurant week and it did not disappoint. 3 course menu for $45. We each ordered a different appetizer out of 4 choices, second course was already set with jap chae and a green salad, third course was 1 choice of meat for bbq or a traditional dish. We ordered the kalbi and pork belly. It comes with 3 side dishes, white rice, and lettuce. We didn't know it came with white rice so we were worried it may not be enough and ordered a bimbimbap also. We didn't need the bimbimbap as the 3 course meal was perfect. It was a good amount of meat between the two of us. The quality of the meat was fresh and marinade was delicious. The servers were super nice and attentive. Go try it!

Alice R.

Yelp
Went on a date here a while back on a cold, rainy like day. A bit last minute and we didn't have reservations. They had issues with the fan on one side of the restaurant and the grill on those tables were not useable. Since we didn't have a reservation, I was fine just having them cook the food for us. However, my date was a bit difficult and insisted we wait. We ordered an appetizer which was a fried shiitake and calamari. The mushrooms tasted better than the calamari so I secretly ate most of them. Someone didn't come to their table on time so we got a table where we were able to cook our Korean BBQ. I am not sure what the price was since my date paid, but portion was fine for someone that wasn't really happy and someone that has a small appetite. We got the galbi and shared it. He cooked all the food which was nice. Interesting how I passed this place so many times to get a cronut from Dominique Ansel and to get Botox, but never seen this place. I don't think I will be seeking this place out, but the staff was patient and the food was fine. If you live in Soho, you don't have to go to Ktown for Korean BBQ. Good to know.

Monica M.

Yelp
We did restaurant week here and enjoyed the 3-course menu. Service here really stood out to me. We were seated at a nice booth but the waiter asked us twice if we would like to move to another seat that was directly under the AC! Bless her because the NYC summer heat is crazy. For the 1st course, we started with the Bossam Bun which was bomb. It was a good take on traditional bao buns- the steamed buns were soft and cooked well. The pork belly was dressed nicely with the spicy daikon and soy flavoring. For our 2nd course, we got the Jap Chae and Green Salad. The Jap Chae was tasty and honestly, I would order a full order of that next time. It reminded me of one of the traditional Cambodian glass noodle dishes that my mom would make. The green salad was solid- the dressing was nice. Believe it was red chilli vinegarette. The 3rd course, we hit the BBQ grill with some Korean meats! I ordered the Kal Bi and it was delicious.

Sarah P.

Yelp
Mostly, I rate on the quality of the food. The only time that I will ding a restaurant on service is if the price tag justifies it or if the service was truly terrible. The Woo charges $40 dollars for a serving of bulgogi, which would run you about 25-30 dollars at any other spot. Therefore, I'm bringing service into the equation. Food quality - 4 The food here is good. We had the ddukbboki, bulgogi, spicy bulgogi, cow tongue, brisket and pork belly. The quality of the meat was very good, but I would rate it on the same level as the quality you'd experience at Don's Bogam. The rice cakes in the ddukbboki also tasted freshly made. Service - 2 It was hard to get a grill change. We asked multiple times and couldn't get any service. Prices - 2 This places was really expensive in comparison to a lot of the other KBBQ places in the city. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place unless you're trying to be fancy for no reason.

Jenn H.

Yelp
Great spot! Good food. Good drinks. And the staff is lovely! It was raining so I ordered a hot toddy, the duck crepes with plum sauce app and the wings app. Everything was delicious, well seasoned and well crafted. The bartender was lovely and he made Woo a very pleasant atmosphere, more-so than I could have asked for. Every staff member was super sweet and kind and attentive. I didn't mean to stay long, but I'm glad I did. Highly recommend!

Olivia C.

Yelp
Came here for restaurant week lunch and it was a good experience! Overall, the food has the homey feel that comes with Korean food. But these is almost a muted tinge - the tastes are more subtle and refined. That being said, I think it's a nice place for dinner/lunch overall if you feel like upscaling Korean food but would not be my go-to if craving Korean food. For appetizers, we got the korean fried chicken and the pork buns. These were both great starts. The fried chicken has a slight sweet taste and is coated by a slight sticky sauce. The pork bun was not I expected - simple but tasty. The salad and jap chae were both good. The jap chae like the rest of the food had a lighter taste than what I'm normally used to with Korean food. It helps you appreciate the texture of the food more although I did miss the stronger tastes. Similarly with the kal bi jim and the bi bim bap, both were really great without having very strong tastes. The kalbi jim was soo soft and melts in your mouth. There was slight sweet flavor to it and probably one of my fave dishes during the meal. The bimbim bap was HOT and sizzling in the bowl - mix it fast before the egg cooks completely and rice gets too crispy!

Yelp
It's restaurant week! Dinner was $39 per person and included 3 courses. We ordered: Calamari tempura ($15) Dinner course: ($39) Mandu / Goroke Japchae & green salad Dolsot bibimbap / bbq shrimp This place definitely had a quieter upscale vibe to it, we got here at 6 and was seated immediately. The servers were also very attentive the whole time. The mandu, japchae and green salad were delicious. I love the spicy sweet vinaigrette they put on the salad. I'm not a fan of japchae but this was cooked like a stir fry and served hot rather than cold. It was a light dish but still filling despite the small size. They have successfully changed my opinion on japchae. 10/10 would have it again. The bibimbap was pretty standard so no complaints there! We ordered an extra appetizer to share and oh my goodness. The sauce on the calamari tempura is so good! I love that it's spicy, sweet and a little bit of sour at the same time. I wish they included more veggie tempura instead of just squid and mushroom. Everything went well til our final course... the bbq shrimp was so INSANELY SALTY. One bite was all I could have because it was like eating pure salt. My friend really likes salty, savory foods and even she couldn't eat it! Super disappointing to end our meal this way. Overall, the food and the ambiance here was amazing! The only let down was the shrimp.

Yelp
Restaurant Overview: Bi-level Korean BBQ joint with Asian contemporary design. Located in Soho, The Woo is exactly what you'd expect from a mid-tier communal dining spot. The Service: Each table comes equipped with a smokeless BBQ grill for food preparation so interaction with the wait staff is limited. Nonetheless, our server was attentive and consistently came back to refill drinks / take further meat orders. The Food: Depends, how badly do you burn your meat when you grill? In all seriousness, the quality of the meat was A-1. We ended up ordering solely beef entrees for the evening (Bul Go Gi & Spicy Bul Go Gi, Hyaw Mit) and the soy, sesame and garlic marination really pops in your mouth when you eat it straight from the grill. All the entrees also come with a side of white rice and kimchi which are classic Korean BBQ "accessories". We were a party of two and were definitely full with 3 entrees. Note: this is NOT all you can eat Korean BBQ. They do have a Pre Fix menu option though for large groups looking for "family dining" experiences. I will say the entrees are a bit on the pricier side - but it's what you'd expect having food like this in NYC. TL;DR: A solid Korean BBQ spot in the Soho which has decent availability in a pinch. Good for both large parties or one-on-one dining with a friend.

Vince C.

Yelp
This isn't the usual kbbq experience that you'd expect. More American than Korean. Food was okay and a little pricey

Lisa C.

Yelp
The Woo is very kid friendly, the servers are very attentive and the space upstairs is dark and inviting. There were 9 of us and we ordered Korean Barbecue at 35/40 a head and I think the portions were very small for the price. We ordered gluten free which was great because one of our party was observant of Passover. The flavor was very good. The sides were also very good and plentiful. The tofu stew mild was still pretty spicy and I totally loved it. If I didn't suffer from acid reflux I would have been totally down for it being served the way it was meant to be but my gut is thankful they tamed the fire. If you can make happy hour that is not a bad choice. We drank quite a lot on the regular menu and the bill was $80 dollars a person. I think it was somewhat over the top. It was good but I wouldn't run back. Maybe for happy hour.

Yelp
I made the decision of introducing my partner to KBBQ here & I was so excited I made the right choice during restaurant week. I enjoyed everything from the ambiance to the food & drinks. The chicken and dumplings are must orders for the appetizer- don't forget I told you so. We ended up ordering two of each because of how yummy they were. We had chicken and bulgogi for our bbq meat, some tasty japchae (clear noodles) & some white rice. Everything was so filling & the portion size ended up working out- I was a bit weary at first because we were s t a r v i n g. I left here very satisfied & will be coming back whenever I'm craving kbbq in the city. I enjoyed the marg & lychee martini, BUT that Saketini was a no. An absolute no. For me at least lmfao, I won't make the mistake of ordering such a strong drink again lmaoooo

Yelp
Went for restaurant week and had a really nice dinner. One of the biggest portions we've had for a restaurant week meal, we all left feeling full. The restaurant itself is very nice and spacious (modern design with two floors). The service was great, our water glasses were never empty and plates were cleared between courses. Really phenomenal wait staff. The food was very good, but some things were better than others. The mandu were absolutely delicious (3 come in an order for restaurant week), I could have eaten a dozen. The pork buns were good, but not great (2 come in an order) and I would not order them again because the mandu were so much better. We did not try the chicken wings, but you get 3 in an order. The japchae and salad were very good and a nice size, and you get 3 small dishes of pickled daikon, kimchi and broccoli along with rice to go with the entrees. For the main we got the bibimbap and the kalbi jim (short rib in a sweet soy sauce). The bibimbap was good, but definitely needed the gochujang as it was a bit bland. The short rib was very tender and tasty (2 big pieces with a slice of squash and a mushroom cap), though the sauce was a bit sweet for my liking. That being said, I would still order it again, because it was very good. Overall a very good meal, in a nice venue with impeccable service. I would absolutely recommend it, especially for the restaurant week value.

Yelp
Yum! I ordered to go and was very pleasantly surprised. My Soon Doo Boo was great and my boyfriends noodle dish was also tasty. There arent a ton of Korean spots in this area so I'm glad to have found The Woo! I'll be back and hopefully get to dine in person too! For delivery the food was very well packaged and don't spill or leak.

Yelp
Love their Korean Fried Wings. Large Portion on Korean BBQ also. Solid Korean food south of K-town

Yelp
There were 30 people ahead of us at Sugarfish, so we decided it was too long to wait, and ate at the Woo instead since it is almost next door to Sugarfish. It turned out to be a good decision because by the time Sugarfish texted us that they had a table for us over an hour later, we already had a wonderful and fun meal at Woo. The meal started with a seafood pancake, which was ok but not as good as the one I got at Gunbae in Tribeca. We got the Bugolgi beef barbecue, which came with thinly sliced beef, onion, carrots, lettuce, salad, and various kimchi. It was fun to cook the meat at the table. I caramelized the onions by leaving it on the bbq for a long time. The salad dressing is excellent. However, I wish they provided some soup with the meal. We also had the bibimbap with chicken and vegetables in the cast iron bowl that made the rice crispy. Fun and delicious. I'm glad we tried Woo.

Yelp
The food was so yummy! I loved the vibe in there as well but the cocktails there were the absolute best! The food came quickly and the service was great.Lucky this place is just a short walk from our place will definitely be back!

Yelp
This place is more like Korean fusion bbq place than traditional. I had the spicy bulgogi, beef tongue, yook hwe (which is Korean style beef tartare), Korean alcohol. I have to say that the amount of margin that the restaurant put on soju is high, it's almost double amount compared to other restaurants (this was the downside). Other then that, the food and service was good. I personally think it's a bit overrated for what you get on food/alcohol.

Yelp
Spacious, modern, clean, and great for small and large groups. The staff here is very patient, friendly, and attentive. The food here is really good, a lot better than what I was expecting at least, and everything you order is shareable. For two, we ordered three things to try and I was really happy with how everything tasted, especially the pork belly wraps.

Yelp
Went here for restaurant week July-August 2021 and for $39 bucks I got a very satisfying Korean BBQ meal of Spicy Dak (chicken) marinated in their version of a spicy marinade. The flavors were there and the taste was great but would have definitely preferred a spicier coating! The value meal started with a fresh salad with some sort of sweet chili dressing. This was light and refreshing especially on a hot summer day so 5/5. Following it came a portion of Japchae which had mushrooms of some sort that I loved and a few other veggies in there too making it a solid 4/5. The Spicy Dak (4/5) came with rice and sides (banchan) of kimchi, broccoli and pickled radish which were all great accompaniments. This was a great, satisfying, filling yet light meal since it wasn't overindulgent which is a pretty good outcome from a Korean bbq. Recommend it for a good time!

Yelp
Very nice spacious restaurant for a more sophisticated korean bbq experience outside of K-town. The regular dinner and the Restaurant Week menu both looked good. Enjoyed a couple of appetizers which were tasty and generous for sharing. The crepes were different and interesting Ke Sal Mari crab and leek wrapped in spinach crepes with a light korean mustard sauce Cham Chi Hwe tuna sashimi with a soy, lime and sesame vinaigrette over crisp asian pear For the mains, we had: Un Dae Gu Jo Rim black cod and daikon radish simmered in a sweet and spicy garlic soy reduction Korean Barbecue Kal Bi (beef short rib) Each dish stood out- the beef was juicy and mouthwatering (as expected with kalbi) The preparation of the fish was perfect- light and flavorful- the soupy base it sat in was delicious too Desserts were also good (subtly sweet, light, and fluffy) even though they're not typical Korean desserts but they sure do hit the spot Omija Dragon puff pastry layered with omija berry mousse, fresh strawberries and vanilla ice cream with raspberry coulis Banana Sabayon silky banana infused whipped custard with mixed berries and sesame seed dipping cookies Am looking to return with a larger party to explore the regular a la carte dinner menu

Yelp
The Woo was awesome - I was pleased with my visit. The ambience is really nice, big tables and open space. We got the rice cakes and scallion pancake to share. Both of these I loved. I got the fried rice with the bean sprouts and scallions and I enjoyed it but I needed some spice with it for sure. I really liked the side salad it came with, the dressing is so good Idk what it is but need to find out.

Yelp
This place is Ridiculously Hot. NO working air conditioning. They have a make shift a/c upstairs. Downstairs is a fan blowing heat and dirt onto the food. This place does not even cook your food/bbq. They were offended when I asked if someone would come and grill the meat. Waiter left the meat and left. We had a large party and autotiped 20% which was a joke for the terrible service. Mediocre food and hot hot hot unbearable eating environment. Here is the kicker. Being so hot, people moved the air blowers and made us and the kids even hotter. Probably better to go straight to ktown for better food and ac at more reasonable prices.
