The Wren Coffee

Been here twice now, people have said the atmosphere is great and I’d definitely agree. It’s friendly, warm, good lighting but also, fantastically spacious, which is rare in London, considering so many coffee shops are crammed and very small. The coffee itself is really really good, I will definitely be going back again for that. The staff are friendly. I haven’t tasted the food, so can’t comment on that, although it might be good to have a bit more of a selection cake wise, but looking forward to going back again soon with friends/family.

The perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The staff are extremely friendly and hospitable. Coffee is served in a compostable cup so you might want to bring your own reusable cup if you are bothered by that kind of thing. Perfect place to meet up with friends, get some work done or just avoid the weather and tourist. There is a large accessible toilet and outdoor seating area of the weather is nice.

Beautiful award winning cafe. Sometimes gets very busy like anywhere in the city and so can be hard to find a seat. Surely the mark of a good cafe though. Coffee is the focus with a very limited food range that is not cheap. Friendly staff with a stimulating lunch time talk series every Thursday from about 1pm to 1:30pm.

Such an unique place! Coffee/moccha were okay and similar with the ginger cookie. But the place worth the experience. Love the architecture

Very peaceful and relaxing place in the buzzy busy City of London. Need rest and high quality coffee? Pop in there. I am serious. The only one thing I have been a bit ,,disappointed, ....they serve coffee only into the take-away cups but I do love, when sitting in, real coffee in a real cup. But it s only one minus. Space is amazing, looks hidden but just 3 min walk from St.Paul' s Catedral, you will pass small chillout garden, just 20 min walk to very Liverpool street Station - tube, train, city bus, bus 🚍 heading to airport....why not to have perfect coffee before you fly :-)

A pity: beautiful location, but bad coffee and stale food. The Wren is based in St Nick’s striking building, with beautiful decor and high ceiling. The relaxed atmosphere makes it a great place for a break or for for those seeking a tranquil place to work. Sadly, on the day we visited we did not find the type of quality we expected from the pictures and reviews: the coffees were all served in takeaway cups rather than ceramic, the milk was burning hot, the brew over-extracted and the end result a coffee to skip. The pastries were stale. Overall a missed opportunity to make this a special experience beyond just the optics.

Really great service, excellent cortados, and very cool atmosphere. Pastries are fresh and a good size for the price. Plenty of tables and you can take your time to enjoy - no one is rushing you out the door.

The Wren is one of my favourite coffee spots ever, and I'm a little loath to reveal it to others just because... Well, it's the place I go to whenever I need to clear my mind or just let off some steam. You see, The Wren is set in a church. It has wonderful stained glass windows and incredibly high ceilings. There is a lot of space between tables and there's free wifi on offer too. This place is an oasis of calm in amidst the madness that is the City. I absolutely love it. And the fact they make consistently good coffee? That's just the icing on the cake. I've never had a bad coffee here ever. They are just that good. And would you believe they operate a generous loyalty scheme too? Buy four coffees, and get the fifth one free. How awesome is that? On top of all this, The Wren had some pretty smashing offers over Christmas, including several days where they had a "buy one, get one free" offer on all hot beverages for an hour, an offer my colleagues and I took full advantage of. Kudos to the staff for being so cool about the fact we were taking such a long time to figure out which drinks we wanted. If you're in the area, head to The Wren for a sit-down coffee. Heck, even if you're not in the area, come here for a sit-down. You won't regret it.

It was a cool atmosphere and good coffee. I think they still use the church so the chairs were set up and other items. There weren't many chairs and tables to sit down and drink coffee though. Would bring friends here cause the glass window makes the coffee shop extra beautiful.

Smashing flat white. Friendly service. All this in a pretty church near St.Pauls. Loads of tables and space. Take a seat and admire the stained glass or outside in the sun with your perfect coffee.

The Wren opened about 2 and 1/2 weeks ago in St Nicholas Cole Abbey just off Queen Victoria Street. Occupying the entirety of the Abbey, it must be one of the most spacious coffee spots in Central London and, with light streaming through the windows, makes a very pleasant spot on a sunny spring afternoon. The staff are trained by Workshop (who also supply the beans) and as you would expect this makes for an excellent combination. I opted for a pour over which was well made and wonderfully fragrant. The turkey, brie and cranberry sandwich which accompanied it was also lovely. There have been a number of welcome coffee developments in the City and The Wren adds to this. It will surely become added to my rota of coffee spots. The fact that it is open at the weekend is an added bonus!

Perfection in a tea cafe in the heart of a touristy area -- excellent tea, treats, and ambience.

Great coffee, beautiful space. I spotted this church from the top of St. Paul's Cathedral and came by to investigate. I was delighted to find it was a coffee shop inside a church. Serving Workshop Coffee and yummy looking pastry, I definitely recommend stopping by and enjoying the ample seating.

I was in town for a week for work and went here every day. Is the coffee amazing? Probably not but it was consistently very good (maybe better than that) and the service was great. Further the space is super cool. I got my coffee to go every time but I really wanted to hang around. It's a "converted" church and done very well. I don't know the back story but it seems like a church's very successful attempt at being hipster cool. Bravo!

Beautiful space, great location as I stopped in on my walk over to St. Paul's Cathedral. I got a latte and it could possibly be one of the best latte's I've ever had. I got there around 9AM on a Monday morning so there wasn't much selection of pastries/breads available so I went with a yogurt parfait.....it was amazing! Better than I expected and was pleasantly surprised and very happy with my decision. As I was finishing up, a woman came out of the side kitchen carry two loaves of freshly baked breads/cakes which looked delicious! I will definitely go back again to try the bread and have another latte!!!!
