"Your bedroom with the door locked, turns out, isn’t the only place to find a peaceful workspace in London. The Wren Coffee is a cafe set within the imposing St Nicholas Cole Abbey, near Cannon Street. It’s a tall-ceilinged, gold-corniced room that manages to make typing emails feel like it has a higher meaning. It’s open from 7am, there are a few plug sockets dotted around, the wifi holds up well for video calls, and there are some very lovely pew-like benches you can pitch up at, beneath stained glass windows. Know it’s not just a hub for laptop-users. Office workers on lunch breaks drift in to read their books and pick up decent almond croissants and porridge pots. It might be a church but low-level nattering is encouraged." - Sinéad Cranna
