60,000 Hospitality Workers in Las Vegas Vote to Authorize Casino Strike | Eater Vegas

"An arena on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus was packed on Sept. 26 as hospitality workers gathered to vote to authorize a citywide strike that could affect 22 Strip resorts. The vote demonstrated broad solidarity across occupations — bartenders, cooks, servers, guest room attendants, porters, bellmen, laundry and kitchen staff — and empowered members to picket if negotiations stall; the union did not set a walkout deadline and continues bargaining with major casino employers over pay, benefits and working conditions." - Janna Karel

Culinary Union Strikes a Deal with Two Major Resort Companies | Eater Vegas

"Served as the site for two union voting sessions on May 22 where around 25,000 of the union's 50,000 members cast ballots to authorize a strike; the authorization passed overwhelmingly (99%), though the union has not called a strike. The venue was central to the labor organization's large-member turnout and the subsequent bargaining that produced tentative five-year contracts covering thousands of workers." - Susan Stapleton

Culinary Union Votes To Authorize a Strike | Eater Vegas

"This arena hosted two voting sessions where about 25,000 of the union's roughly 50,000 members came to vote, with 99% authorizing a strike; the authorization permits the negotiating committee to call a strike any time after June 1 and is intended mainly to give leverage in contract talks rather than immediately trigger a citywide stoppage. Contracts at 34 Strip and Downtown resorts expire on June 1, and while one major operator expects to sign before the deadline, union leaders say a strike would be a last resort even as members — including bartenders, guest room attendants, cocktail and food servers, porters, bellmen, cooks and other kitchen workers — prepare if agreements are not reached. The last citywide Las Vegas strike in 1984 affected 32 resorts and lasted 67 days." - Susan Stapleton

Could the Culinary Union Go on Strike? | Eater Vegas

"The Culinary and Bartenders Union is heading to the Thomas & Mack Center on May 22 to vote whether to authorize a strike that could begin as soon as June 1, when union contracts expire for about 50,000 employees at 34 casinos and resorts on the Las Vegas Strip and in Downtown Las Vegas; workers from MGM Resorts, Caesars Entertainment, Penn National, Golden Entertainment, Boyd Gaming and others plan to vote during two sessions on May 22, and if a majority agrees, bartenders, guest room attendants, cocktail servers, food servers, porters, bellmen, cooks and kitchen workers could walk off the job starting June 1." - Susan Stapleton

Google
What a great facility for events. We went to the National Rodeo Finals and there wasn't a bad seat in the house. This was a huge event and outside was extremely busy. We took an Uber and we were glad we did. Parking would be very difficult with all the traffic. We took a free shuttle coach to Fremont Street after. There were free shuttle buses for different destinations. Plenty of restrooms and all sorts of food and drinks available. The rodeo was excellent!

Google
Monster Jam at Thomas & Mack was insane! Just got back from Monster Jam at Thomas & Mack Stadium and it was a blast. The energy in the place was electric—crowd was hyped, the trucks were LOUD, and the drivers did not hold back. Great seats pretty much all around, and even from higher up you still got a solid view of the action. Parking was smooth and staff were helpful getting everyone in and out. The arena itself is clean, well-organized, and perfect for events like this. My kids (and let’s be honest, me too) were losing it every time a truck went flying. Definitely coming back for the next one.

Google
Was staying in Vegas and decided to catch a NBA summer league game. Arena is only about 10 minutes from most hotels. Big arena. Decent seats. Didn’t have any food or drinks, but there were places scattered about. There’s a good amount of steps to walk to inside, but fortunately they also have escalators available.

Tripp J.

Google
Great place to see monster trucks indoors but there is not enough room for them to do much but jump and stop. Too small for monster trucks. But the experience was fun and my kids couldn't tell the difference between a big event and a small event.

F. J.

Google
Was there for the NFR, what an experience, just woww!! Before you enter, all kinds of things from food to beer. I recommend any year to come and experience the NFR. Thanks again!!

Rachel W.

Google
Always a good time to visit for summer league. The chicken tenders were pretty good and the prices were definitely arena pricing but not outrageous in my opinion.

Kristina F.

Google
Very tiny seats, no cup holders. Then outside - ride share pick up was a disaster (the drivers didnt even know how to get into the area), minimal signs to direct pedestrian traffic. Signage all around was minimal. The event was amazing, the venue left a lot to be desired. Would take a highly sought after event for me to even consider going back.

Google
We came here to watch our daughter graduate. They put on quite the performance for a college graduation, I think they must have hired the guy that announces for WWE wrestling because that's how the guy talked. Then when announcing the graduates names, you'd think they had hired auctioneers because they zipped through the names double team, so fast! Leaving wasn't nearly as easy as arriving, they really should have people directing traffic, we ended up having to take the long way home through other residential areas because there was just no way for us to get over to the right lane that we needed to be in. It wasn't so bad since they all had beautiful Christmas lights up in the residential areas.

Yelp
Our second year coming to NBA Summer League and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The seats (especially in the Cox Pavilion/practice gym) aren't the most comfortable to be sitting in for almost 10 hours but the big gym is quite nice and it's really cool how close you can get to the action just paying for a GA ticket day pass during the first weekend. Not too much food selection but everything is pretty reasonably priced, especially in comparison to concessions at bigger arenas. Snacked on a chili cheese corn dog for lunch that was quite solid. Rideshare drop off and pick up also very easy in the big parking lot outside the main entrance. Before and after big games + when there's a long line for the autograph table it gets pretty packed in the main concourse but otherwise didn't have to wait too long for anything. Looking forward to coming back next year!

Yelp
My niece had her graduation at Thomas and Mack. It was surprisingly well organized with different schools coming out as we were going in and the next school coming in Alas we were leaving. Security was quick and easy as long as you followed their clear instructions with bag size and contents. There were tables set up and clearly labeled eith gifts, flower, drinks, that were not allowed in or people who didn't want to give graduates the flowers until they were done walking across the stage and to avoid leaving them in cars.

Yelp
I've been coming here for decades, and the operations staff or the team behind holding every event always impresses me with how well they run everything. Every event I've been to, and because the building is so old, I always expect the worse but each experience is always better than expected. Obviously if you rank all the arenas, stadiums, and sporting venue in Las Vegas; the Thomas and Mack might rank last but it's our gem and I'd love to see it fixed up some.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
The NFR is like a well oiled machine. Runs very smoothly and timely. Entertaining event, with very little down time.
google avatar

Joe F.

Yelp
Great staff here and a wonderfully laid out arena. Not a bad seat in the house unless you're extremely high up and then you just have to have better vision than me. Parking prices can be a little high but that's the price for doing fun stuff in Vegas. Speaker system seems a little outdated but overall the announcer sounds pretty clean. Can't wait for the next event.

Yelp
While decent enough for a Highschool Graduation the Thomas & Mack Center is far from "state-of-the-art" if guests have been around the country to colleges like The Ohio State University, LSU or even North Dakota. Sure the Rebs achieved unprecedented success here, but 42 years since opening everything including "VIP" Suites feels dated while entry and exit is an absolute mess.

Yelp
It was my first time getting to come here, let alone for the national final rodeos. I will definitely be back. The venue was great, easy to get to and handicap (ADA) parking was super convenient!!! Definitely recommend this venue!
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
I forgot how spacious the Thomas and Mack Center is. We were lucky enough to come for the National Finals Rodeo (my first time) and it was very entertaining! The event lasted about 3 hours and there was never a dull moment. Plenty of food booths and makeshift bars and lounges.
google avatar

Yelp
We went for the democratic rally. The parking is easy and free. It was super easy to navigate the arena and get to our seats. The concessions were limited due to the short notice and tightened security. They did have water, soda Gatorade, candy and chips , the essentials lol. I've been one time before but both times it was clean even the bathrooms.

Yelp
Show started at 11am we arrived at 10:30am and parked close to the entrance. Sooo many stairs but there is an escalator up and down, several different vendors to buy merchandise. The first portion of Disney on Ice was Elsa and Anna from Disneys Frozen. All the performers were excellent, we had pretty close seats so the view was perfect for my little. Second half was Encanto this act was cool, because a few performers were hoisted in the air tossing flowers. It was pretty exciting for all the kids!!

Yelp
We have had season tickets to UNLV men's basketball since 2004, coach Lon Kruger's first year at UNLV (no relation). I loved Lon as a player at Kansas State and as a coach. I believed he would do great as the Rebels' head coach, and he was. Thomas and Mack has a good central location in town. There's more than one entrance to the two large parking lots and the parking garage. And, something especially nice in Vegas, there is no charge for parking for UNLV basketball games! For the UNLV games, there are a number of workers who help direct traffic before and after the game. They make leaving after a game quite easy. From the parking lots, there are three entrances you can take. I believe all three have escalators as well as stairs. The security is good, but it is not overwhelming. Women have to have clear bags and they do search everything. That is the world we live in now. Inside the T&M, the hallways aren't the widest, but they aren't too bad. The womens' bathrooms are larger than the men's. When there's a big crowd, they aren't quite large enough. There are a number of concession stands, I believe they all sell beer. The Nathan hot dogs are actually very good! There are a number of bars that sell mixed drinks and wine. The seats inside the arena aren't too bad. They all have a cup holder which is nice. The video boards on the scoreboard hanging from the middle of the court is good, but not overly impressive. The people who work at T&M overall are very nice. I always have to remember it is mainly a college venue. Prices for food and drink aren't bad, and you do have to pay with a credit card (seemingly the norm these days). In the last ten years, we lived in two other cities with Division 1 basketball teams. Their arenas were not even close to being as nice as the Thomas and Mack.

Yelp
Went to see Disney on Ice ! So much fun. Always easy to park at Thomas & Mack. The stadium always has a sufficient amount of employees to direct traffic into the correct parking areas as well as to after you park direct you into the stadium. Everyone was checked as usual for contraband, but even with all the crowed everything went very smooth. The show was fantastic. Enjoyable day with my family
google avatar

Angela S.

Yelp
I'm not too much of a fan here. Nothing wrong with the T&M inside except parking. It's just always the same, a cluster. So many staff directing you here and there. Half of the center plot empty. I'm not sure I understand why I need to park right when I can also go left. Soooo many orange cones everywhere!!! Well regardless, attended a high school graduation. Everything was great, very friendly and courteous staff. Very attentive to the elders suggesting elevators and accommodations. Thank you.

Yelp
I wish I could give this place 5 stars but I've got to give them 4 stars due to the inconvenience, PIB getting an Uber/Lyft outta this place. WHY is it so hard for them to go to the marked pickup spot???? I've been here a couple of times for Lee's Wine event & with tables being around the walls & all you have to do is go in a circle with a couple coves to dip in its easy to maneuver. This is NOT my favorite location for Lee's though. It's a pain to get to, traffic is busy during these events & this past Sat. the line was horribly long. They have to come up with a better plan. Not sure what they changed this time?? I did go here once for a UNLV game & things were cool. Food & drinks were easy to get & finding our seats were easy. Comfy seats, good view & could hear the game. Plenty of bathrooms as you make your way around too.

Yelp
First time here. We went to see the Lady Rebels play. They played Arizona. It was a nice game. This wasn't one of those nail biting games, but the Last Rebels did their thing and got that W. It was great playing by all. I'd say work on those outside shots and those shots outside of the paint. Looking forward to seeing how the season plays out for them.
google avatar

Yelp
When are they going to tear this ancient venue down? It's horrible. 1 elevator for the public. Escalators that don't work. Access to your seats, if you're on the floor, it's a long way down. Sound sucks. Build a new arena! It's been here since the last championship. Like 1980?? Of all the venues in LV this is the worst.
google avatar

Melissa B.

Yelp
Great time and very energetic crowd. I recommend checking out a basketball game here.

Jay S.

Yelp
Went to my sons graduation last week and was shocked at what I had to do since I am in a wheel chair. Upon our arrival, we were told by the ushers our family of 7 could not sit together because I was in a wheel chair and while the others could sit in the lower bowl or where ever, I had to go up to the upper level (the rafters) with one other person if we wanted. Completely unacceptable given that there was plenty of seating on the court level with the first rows not filled. Also the big screens used to project the speeches and graduates is hardly visible when up in the rafters. And forget about the mic system...about as bad as the whole experience. Bottom line DO better Thomas and Mack. Completely unacceptable. People with disablities or even elderly people who use wheel chairs or canes or walkers should not be overlooked.
google avatar

Bruski N.

Yelp
We come here almost every year for the Mountain West Championship tournament. It's kind of a dated arena but spacious and can accommodate a large crowd. It's also home to the UNLV Rebels. They have plenty of parking and easy walking distance to nearby hotels and restaurants. This year was the most special because our beloved SDSU Aztecs won it all. Aztecs for life!

Yelp
Different opinions of food, Services is great and the ambiance is super excited for all ages depending of what show or event they are going to watch.

Yelp
Me and my parents attended the monster jam show last night. The excalater was not working so I went to the box office for information for accessible entrance. The lady at the window told me that my disabled parents have to take the stairs. They don't look disabled and disabled people are in wheelchairs. The lady then asked me if my parents have paperwork stating that they are disabled. I told her yes absolutely they have paperwork and why are you questioning me about my parents disability that is against the law. She also said this event is normally for kids not elderly people. I was completely speechless. I wasn't able to get her name because she was basically laying on the counter but she was a short African American lady up in age. I will be reaching out to upper management because what we experienced is not and will never be tolerated. We ended up taking the elevator because another staff members with security pointed us in the right direction and apologized for that ladies behavior. This lady clearly needs more training and knowledge about people with disabilities.

Yelp
I went to the Thomas & Mack center on consecutive days for the Future and Kem concert and it's a nice venue, equipped with big screens, and can accommodate elaborate sets for concerts. The Future concert had four walkways on the stage that extended out to the middle of the floor. The Kem concert had the traditional stage set-up with a live band, musicians, and background vocalists. If you don't mind walking, I recommend parking in the UNLV parking lot for free after hours and making the short walk to the Thomas and Mack Center which I did on both nights. Parking in the Thomas & Mack center cost 20.00 and it can be a nightmare exiting if the concert turnout is large. The Future concert had a huge crowd so I was glad I did not have to deal with the madness of leaving the parking lot. I would return to the Thomas and Mack center.

Yelp
We went to the Stetson-UNLV game on Nov 11, 2023 after pregaming at Double Down, and it was great. Got mid court seats for basically nothing. I won our row free passes for a year to EOS gyms for getting on the flex cam, but I had to give ours away because we're not local. I caught a UNLV t-shirt and almost caught another. Still a very nice arena for being 40 years old, and they sell beer!

Yelp
I have been here many time for a variety of events from sports, rodeos and live concerts. Always a great selection of food, not a bad seat in the house and parking is a breeze! Come check out Ann event here

Yelp
Loved it! We had a company function in a circus like atmosphere. This venue has it all. Clean air, lots of open space, great staff and location. The event was enjoyable because the staff went out of their way to keep everything clean and tidy in spite of the number of people moving all around. The bathroom facilities were clean and smelled great. Thumbs up for having paper towels, santizer and soap available. I would recommend this venue for any size function, The parking and the arrangment of the buidlings were very accessible for all age groups and needs. Great place to enjoy your outdoor party or event.
google avatar

Yelp
I was at T&M for a graduation and everything was seamless. Parking was a breeze and finding my way to our seats was extremely easy. This place is a graduation mill but everything went smoothly.

Yelp
This review is for CSN's graduation commencement that took place here at Thomas & Mack. I am happy to say that I was a graduate of this commencement on 5/16/22! I'm also happy that they had the option to broadcast it live online again. Nearly all my extended family lives over 2,000 miles away cross country and were not interested in traveling all the way to Vegas, so they were all able to watch the commencement from home. My parents were present in the audience, while the rest of my family and friends watched from home. This year happened to be CSN's 50th graduation ceremony, so this was a very special milestone. I didn't check-in on Yelp because I did not want to bring my phone onto the main stage with me, posing theft concerns. And it ended up being 100 degrees on graduation day, so if I left my phone in my car, it would overheat. I got there at around 4:15 and arrived at the Cox Pavilion. I was given a free bottle of water before going inside. The event started at 6. Some speakers present were Governor Steve Sisolak, CSN President Dr. Frederico Zaragoza, and CSN founder Barbara Agonia. There were nearly 4,300 graduates this year and it was a huge honor to be one of them. I left after my name was called because we weren't going to wait for everyone else's name to be called. Staying for the entire ceremony was strongly recommended but not required. Technically, I am a summer 2021 graduate but I am recognized in the class of 2022. It took me nine years after high school to graduate from college, due to multiple scheduling conflicts with my full time job and my degree program was at first undecided. But I made it!! Next stop...UNLV.

Yelp
I came here with my daughter on a Sunday for Disney on Ice. We arrived at the Thomas & Mack Center approximately 25 minutes before the show. It took us about 15 minutes to get through parking. There was a lot of people attending the Disney on Ice show (1:00 P.M showing). Once we parked, it was relatively easy to get into the Thomas & Mack Center. We could either go up via escalator or go take the stairs. We had good seats, in the middle of the stadium, not too high and not too low. There was plenty of food stands and toy sections at Disney on Ice. Disney on Ice didn't use the full Thomas & Mack Center. I would say that it only utilized half of the center. The sound and lighting was amazing! Great show though and a wonderful facility! I would come back here again at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Yelp
Mood - event Upon entering this enormous stadium, you find what your isle is, seat number ( if any) and proceed down until you get there. Depending on the event, there are ushers to point you in the right direction. The Thomas & Mack center was completed in 1983 and was named after two Las Vegas bankers named Jerome Mack and E Thomas, who donated the original funds. At first this stadium was only supposed to be a venue for the UNLV Rebels, but after many ideas the demographic changed, the blue prints were altered and it became a multipurpose stadium. Over the past several years this stadium has hosted sports, Disney, PBR, concerts, WWE, exhibitions, graduations - just to name a few. More than 30 million people have past thru these doors and will continue to do so, as Vegas thrives and becomes more than what it is now. Interior is always very clean, the employees for the venues usually do a stellar job of ensuring that. Staff is usually very friendly and helpful. Fun fact - 11/21/83 first event, Runnin Rebels Vs Victoria, Canada Would def recommend- pricing depends on what your entertaining. Location is Tropicana/ Paradise- ample parking

Yelp
I went here to view the Mountain West Conference Basketball tournament and I was immediately impressed with this venue. The parking lot is very large, but pricey for the event I went to ($20.00). I had a very short walk to the front entrance and you end up walking up a steep flight of stairs to get to it. If I lived closer, I would use the stairs as a workout by running up and down it a few times. When you enter, it seemed like the whole place was energetic. It might have been the fans for the University of Nevada vs University of New Mexico teams. The food choices here range from the usual concession stand hot dogs, hamburger, nachos and popcorn to bar b cue, tacos etc. Now when your going to your seat, the people seated in the upper atmosphere seats have got it easy! I walked through the doorway that had a sign over it indicating where my seat section was and the upper section seats were right there! This is unlike other venues where you have to walk up MANY steps after many steps to reach your seat! I guess when this place was built, it was sunken down partially underground. I can see why UNLV, it's students, athletes and alumni are proud of this place.

Yelp
It's funny how buildings always seem to rank low on Yelp. Thomas and Mack is the home of UNLV basketball and many other events throughout the year, from Disney on Ice to the NFR. Long ago, before the Grand Garden Arena and T-Mobile Arena, the T & M was the place to go for concerts and there are pictures throughout the concourse showing how many stars have played there. I was a cheerleader at UNLV so the Thomas and Mack has a lot of good memories for me (Lon Kruger era). I still love to come and watch games. Parking is relatively easy unless it's a school night and you have to fight college students for parking spots. If it's a busy night, one trick I learned is park in the very back, close to Tropicana Avenue and back your vehicle in. It's a longer walk to and from your car but you can get out super easy. No large purses are allowed unless they're see-through. I usually just carry everything in my pockets or have a small clutch. Will call is easy, ticketing is easy, everything is easy. The concourse has a decent amount of food options: pretzels, hot dogs, dippin' dots, pizza. The food stands serve beer but if you're looking for liquor or wine you have to make your way to the Jack Daniels bar. A few years ago they added a nice lounge area behind the bar that overlooks the Strip. Really nice views. Bathrooms are plentiful and there is never a line. They have VIP boxes right below the concourse that are each sponsored and designed differently. These are owned by big companies so you won't get in there unless you know someone but they look fun. Seating is comfortable. It's a small arena compared to the Strip arenas so the upper level isn't bad but I wouldn't prefer it, and it irritates me that they even sell those seats when the basketball games aren't even half full. Down near the floor they have cocktail waitresses that will take your drink orders and there's a private bar through the tunnel but I'm not sure who gets to access that. The locker rooms are small but sufficient. That's maybe the only drawback. I can see that for NBA players or Team USA players this facility is definitely older and more cramped for them. But as a spectator I love the T & M.

Yelp
Summer league! I came here with my husband to watch the summer league of some of our favorite teams. We originally wanted to watch the warriors play but they were playing at 10pm at night which was late so we stayed and watched the clippers and lakers play. It's a nice stadium and was really packed in and out of the stadium. They had many food courts to choose from and as for parking there was plenty of space. They had workers guiding people in and out of the parking which made everything easier

Yelp
So this review is just for my experience for my daughter's high school graduation ceremony. Because we've never experienced a graduation before outside of the actual high school we didn't know what we would be walking into. Man oh man. The traffic around the Thomas and Mack was a little intimidating because of all the construction going on but the school sent out parking instructions and they worked perfectly. Finding a spot was smooth and had plenty of handicap parking. We did worry about the stairs into the arena but my grandmother appreciated the handrails and the midway point deck. Once we made it inside they weren't ready for us to go in but we grabbed some snacks and sat at the tables in the lobby. We chatted while we waited about how all the kids and families would be in and out in our allotted time frame. Everything was clean, we found great seats, sat back and enjoyed. The ceremony started on time and was beautiful. It ended right on time as well. What a great experience we had here! Thank you everyone at Thomas and Mack, enjoyed our first experience with you.

Yelp
My only complaint is the lack of seating without having to take stairs. If you're handicapped and you come for an event or graduation you might be in trouble.

Yelp
Summer League at the Thomas and Mack Arena . This is my third year attending NBA Summer League and it never seems to disappoint. FREE Parking at the Thomas and Mack Arena and General Admission seating is $40 with all the fees and surcharges works out to about $58 a ticket. General Admission let's you sit anyone in the area except for the assigned seats and the summer league VIP seats. If you want to get a really good seat it's best to go early, door open one hour before the game starts. You can also purchase tickets at the box office. I arrived at about 11am and the first game was 1pm and we got really good seats a few rows behind the players bench and get access to where the players walk into the locker room. They had 8 games through out the day in the two different gyms (Thomas and Mack Center and The Cox Pavilion) The best seating in the Thomas and Mack Arena is when you enter the doors go to your left or your right through the first doors you see and walk down the stairs as close as you can to the first seats that are available. Section 118 is my favorite place to sit. You are not allowed to bring big bags into the arena, small pocketbooks are allowed and clear totes and book bags. If you have a large bag you will have to leave it in your car. They sell popcorn, chicken fingers and french fries at the concession stand and other finger foods. Plenty to do and lots to see when enjoying a day a NBA Summer League. There are normally basketball players walking around so bring a sharpie and something they can autograph also it's a good idea to bring a back up charger if you plan on being there all day. My sons friend lost his phone and even though we didn't find it Betty with UNLV security was so helpful escorting me around to two different stations to see if anyone turned it in. She was so helpful and had such a great personality. Restrooms was super clean and the attendants were amazing to ensure that the bathrooms that have just been cleaned were the ones that were used. Mask were required while in the building due to safety protocols with COVID.

Yelp
I've been at the Thomas & Mack Center for various events since 2000: a high school graduation, concerts, college basketball games and NBA Summer League games. Each time has been a good experience. Friendly staff, not a bad seat in the house in my opinion. Concessions is generally the same as other arenas I've been to: overpriced and processed fries and burgers that do the job. Taking Lyft and Uber is a breeze with the drop-off and pick-up area at the main entrance. Overall, 4 stars!

Yelp
Came here to watch a WNBA playoff game. The stadium is nice and no matter where you sit, you've got a good view. The only downside, there was only one person accepting the parking fee on each side which meant a long wait to park. Food was good, with nice selection and reasonable prices.

Yelp
I have been going to the T&M since I moved to Vegas 25 years ago. From sporting events, rodeo and concerts. The first time I ever saw Garth Brooks was at the T&M. I was happy to see that Helldorado was here this past weekend. The venue was clean, the employees were nice and the sound system was great. Thanks y'all - I hope to see more events back at your place, it's been too long.

Yelp
Home to UNLV's Runnin' Rebels basketball, Thomas & Mack is capable of seating just under 20,000 people. That's a lot of spectators! Thomas & Mack also hosts numerous events such as concerts, conventions, and my favorite- NBA Summer League! It's always a treat to come out and see my favorite team play! However, this review is solely based on my experience at Thomas & Mack for Disney On Ice: Follow Your Heart. My family and I came to see the show this past weekend. It was an amazing show and I would definitely see it again the next time they come to town! The costumes were out of this world and the acrobatics and ice skating were just straight up impressive! I'm not quite sure who loved it more- My two year old nephew or myself! Our seats were perfect. We were able to score four decently priced tickets on unlvtickets.com and although our seats were in the upper level, the view was great. Three stars because the event seemed unorganized. There were plenty of vendors selling Disney merchandise throughout the concourse and of course, a ton of food vendors. There was zero organization in terms of lines for any of the vendors so as you could imagine, it was sheer pandemonium during intermission and even before the show. It's nobody's fault, but people were standing in line and in turn, blocking the walkway for everyone else. There were masses of people everywhere. The food choices are decent and prices were actually cheaper than I had expected. Parking was a breeze and also free. I've yet to come to an event here where they charge for parking.

Yelp
Go Rebels! It's early in the season, but the Runnin' Rebels are on a hot streak, which made for a good time at the Thomas & Mack. The parking here is plentiful, but it can be far walk if you arrive late, plus the traffic around this area is terrible! So leave early or be prepared to be frustrated. The venue has had some updates recently, but it definitely shows it's age with the tight seating arrangements and the older scoreboards and the giant LED playback screens above the court. The booze prices here are high with beers being about nine dollars and cocktails being 10 dollars or more, but that's pretty standard and actually a tad cheaper than most arenas and stadiums that I've been to in California. Beyond that, this is a decent spot to see a sports related event. Go Team! Come, play, watch, repeat!

Yelp
Big stadium, parking was a relatively easy process. We came to watch the college tournaments between the UNM Lobos and the University of Wyoming Cowboys. The cheapest tickets, however, were way at the top of the stands, but overall not a bad view. The stands weren't exactly the cleanest by the end of the week with scattered popcorn and leftover baby items

Yelp
Has it really been that long ago since my last visit to Thomas & Mack? Prior to this week's visit, it's been close to 20 years since I watched a Rebels game in Thomas & Mack. We received free tickets from Yelp Elite Event (courtesy of Nacho Daddy) and couldn't pass up the opportunity. It's all about the Runnin' Rebels out here and I've been a fan since the Tarkanian days with Larry Johnson, Anderson Hunt, Greg Anthony, and Stacy Augmon. You can't go wrong watching a game here. First of all, the arena is not the biggest which is good if you're like me sitting in nosebleed. The view of the court isn't bad at all from these high altitudes too. To be honest, the arena pretty much looks the same as it did years ago. Even though the arena is older, it seems to be kept in pretty good shape. As for parking, I didn't think it was bad at all and it's free. Regardless of the venue, what really makes a good game and great atmosphere is the fans. Here are Thomas and Mack, there no shortage of the Scarlet and Gray Rebel Reign. Rebels! Rebels! Rebels!

Yelp
As a full-time UNLV student, I get a free ticket to Runnin' Rebels home games. Truth of the matter is, I've never taken advantage of this generous offer! I've been to the Thomas and Mack Center for on-campus job fairs and just recently, at commencement. A lot of Yelpers have mentioned how dated the Thomas and Mack Center looks, but I personally never thought the stadium looked old. *shrugs* If you're visiting the Student Recreation and Wellness Center or attending an event at the Thomas and Mack Center, you'll be parking in the vast Thomas and Mack parking lot off Tropicana and Swenson. It's one of my regular parking spots on campus. I was surprised at how high up the nosebleed sections were. Some families were sitting all the way up there for commencement! I could hardly even see them lol. Other than that, the stadium was clean and filled with tons of people. The Super Dome (I think that's what it's called) gave graduates camera love for about 2-3 seconds. Overall, I think the Thomas and Mack Center is a great feature of UNLV. Go Rebels! Yelp
Thomas and Mack has been around for a long time now... ever since I came to Vegas back in 2001. The center is always clean, and the traffic crew does a pretty solid job getting people in/out efficiently. The venue is pretty awesome and there's never a bad seat... esp when you get to see the Lakers for a reasonable price. Tip: don't travel down Tropicana to get to the center unless you want to wait 20-25 mins to make that left turn. Take the airport bypass instead to go straight into the center.

Yelp
As a venue usually for sporting events and concerts, the Thomas and Mack Center was tranformed for an evening as a place of worship when Mega-Pastor Joel Osteen was in town for "A Night of Hope" If you've ever seen his program on TV(Sundays, 9am on Lifetime), its just 30 minutes and is really a fraction of what really goes on. Joel Osteen also comes to Vegas once about every 7 years, so this was a great experience to see him live. Familiar faces were also in the crowd-George Wallace, Frank Marino, Sigfried and Roy, and the place was PACKED! The evening began with our National Anthem with one of the best worship teams I've ever heard, and throughout the night, messages of hope, grace, and inspiration by Joel Osteen's wife Victoria, mother Dolores, and brother Paul, along with his own message about faith versus fear combined with great song services made this two and a half hour service awesome, inspirational, and unforgettable...ALOHA!!! Yelp
More like 2.5 stars but I'll be generous since the show was good. We came here to see the PBR (professional bull riding) World Finals on a Wednesday and Thursday evening. It was raining on Wednesday and we had to park in the "overflow" lot which means we had to walk a little farther in the rain. The people directing the traffic were a little slow to let us pass considering it was...uh...raining on us! We got the same parking spot on Thursday and it was better since it was a nice night out. Once inside it's your standard event arena. Packed wall to wall with people trying to get snacks and buy crappy souvenirs. So we got in line for some popcorn too...if you can't beat em' join em' as they say. The price for the popcorn wasn't bad...you got a super huge tub for $4.00 but the soda was pricey at $3.00...but still not too bad considering. If you're not rich like me, your seats will be in the top half of the arena. Be sure to put on your hiking boots because it's a steep incline on the way up! The seats are small and pack you like sardines with NO leg room at all. So if someone wants to pass you, you have to get up...or have them climb over you. I hate it when there is no walk way for people to pass. The acoustics for the first night were TERRIBLE! But the sound technicians improved it for the second night. Even though we were high up we still had a decent view. We are going to be coming in December for the World Finals Rodeo and we are going to be even farther up...so we'll see how good the view is then. Leaving can be complicated if you don't get a head start before the event ends. We got out O.K. both times but they have you exit out a side street and if you need to get into the right hand turn lane it can be impossible to get over. Overall, it's an O.K. venue to watch events. It's certainly not my first choice but when they have PBR and Rodeo World Finals...you just have to suck it up!
