The Austin Smashburger Power Rankings

"Biggie’s checks all the boxes we look for in a good smashburger—melty cheese, a fluffy potato roll, and nicely browned patty edges that look like a lace doily. It’s a solid burger, with a bun that we wish arrived just a little toastier, though they do get a few bonus points for selling us a side of fried, pickled okra bites that might be our new favorite snack.  Your order: The Double ($12) plus a side of okra bites. Ol’ reliable.  " - nicolai mccrary

Even as Austin swelters in triple digit heat this summer, the dining experience at Tillery Kitchen and Bar was delightful. The outdoor seating overlooking the river was shady. The food was delicious. We started with the green tomatoes and endive, and the cornmeal coated tomatoes were crunchy outside and firm and tart inside. Pairing them with endive and strawberries added a sweet crisp note. We followed that with the roasted chicken featuring farro, parmesean, and again strawberries in the sauce. We finished with the profiterole ice cream sandwich and it’s olive oil ice cream was cool, creamy, and delicious.

Google
Great date, great brunch, great drinks. Happy with everything about Tillery from the view to the service to the menu. Went with vegan friends and was surprised and pleased with everything we got! Added on the chicken liver mousse for myself which is definitely worth coming back for. Extra props to our server Susie!

Elegant views, exclusive seasonal menus, boogie beverages and exquisite entrees - Tillery’s high maintenance style matches the foods quality taste and employee service! I enjoyed their brunch but look forward to experiencing their dinner menu in the future. Be sure to keep an eye out for changes to their menu and to know the hours of operation! :)

Google
What a fantastic meal at the Tillery in Austin. The Chilled Corn Gazpacho was delicious and a perfect start that I paired with a glass of the Bogel Phantom red blend. The heirloom tomatoes and the mint were fantastic with the corn gazpacho. Then came the main course...grouper served on a bed of braised black lentils with white wine and glazed vegetables. The fish was perfect, the lentils were amazing and the vegetables were just right. Not too soft and not too al dente. I finished up with my version of a digestif...ouzo. Simply a great experience. Everything was so well prepared and beautifully presented and the prices are incredibly reasonable. So not what you'd expect in the heart of Austin. Add to it the welcoming atmosphere and incredibly friendly and attentive staff and it made for a great experience. Well done Tillery, well done.

Google
Tillery is definitely a spot I’d like to come back to when things cool down a bit. The back patio is beautiful and has a lovely view of the river. My burger was good, although I wish the patty had a bit of seasoning, it was sort of plain. I have to say it was cooked perfectly though and was very juicy. The TX Mule I had to sip on was perfectly refreshing. With a hint of hibiscus and that delicious ginger it was a treat.

Beautiful view and outdoor area! Highly recommend the Mexican martini. Home Fries was my favorite thing on the menu. I was also super stoked you can get a side of fried chicken.

Google
A lovely green oasis so close to downtown. It feels like you escaped the city to a park-like setting, with the river a stones throw away. Come when the weather is nice so you can sit outside under a canopy of trees. Don't wear your best shoes as the floor is gravel and your heels will thank you for not! They worked with the menu for my vegetarian friend so don't be discouraged if you're not seeing what you like. Unfortunately, the Mac and Cheese (if you follow my reviews you know I'm a connoisseur) left a lot to be desired. I doused it in Valentina and pepper and it remained lackluster. They were also understaffed during our experience which led to waiting a long while for food, drink refills, condiments and the check. Overall a pleasant experience, but it really was the location that carried the stars 🌟

Google
Food, service, and drinks were incredible! Highly recommend reservations for best experience, but we were seated promptly and treated kindly without one. Rachel was very knowledgeable about the menu, and even brought out a fresh bowl of water for my support animal. Loved my visit!

Yelp
What a stunning space! They have a gorgeous indoor area but the real star of the show is the massive back area with Lady Bird views! They installed misters and shades recently and it's pretty tolerable out there even on a scorching hot day. Chef Gabriel has an incredible summer menu right now that you've gotta try! I had the grilled octopus, squash salad, cold corn gazpacho, market fish (snapper), roasted cauliflower, and the burger. Oh and the profiteroles and sorbets were a delightful finish to the meal! Try their sage margarita - it's divine! I wouldn't have ordered it but it's a house speciality and it's for real, delicious! Service was great - staff are attentive and friendly. So so impressed with my visit!

Yelp
I stopped in yesterday with a friend and colleague around 6pm. We had a reservation, but the place was empty so we had no issues being seated-- literally we were the only people there for over an hour. We started off with a lot of the appetizers! During happy hour apps are half off!! You cannot beat that! The gazpacho soup/dip was very creamy and mixed a lot of summery flavors! The watermelon was a nice touch but the popcorn was not needed (it was pretty though) The Brussel sprouts honestly were my favorite! These are perfectly crisp and acidic, they also have a hint fruit infused flavor to them. Fries--fresh and a classic Pickled veggies--I wanted to order more of these to go home. Great palate cleanser and sour :) We also ordered the octopus-it was my first time trying and I did not like it but my friend loved it and the freshness!! Great dinner and happy hour spot during the week.

Yelp
Service was good, but the food left a lot to be desired. Quite a disappointment for such a well-decorated & well-situated eatery with river views on the cute patio. I had the chicken and it was OK.

Yelp
This restaurant was a mixed bag. The first thing you'll notice is the patio. It is so beautiful and inviting. Unfortunately for us it was 100+ outside so we sat inside. The service was good. The people are friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the cocktails. Very tasty and good variety. The fried green tomatoes were my favorite part of the meal. Excellent mix of flavors and textures. Unfortunately our entrees were lacking. My wife had the roasted chicken. It was ok but not something you'd excitedly recommend to a friend. The gnocchi was poor in my opinion. The only flavor was sweet. I'd give it another try to see if the other entrees were more to our liking.

Yelp
Went here for dinner time with a group and the food was delicious! It was a beautiful outdoor area with shade surrounded by tall trees. It's June so it was warm, the downside is the bugs! Make sure to bring bug spray!! I got bite by a few mosquitoes. Appetizers Crispy Brussel sprouts $10- delicious! Fried zucchini $8- were very good! Entrees Wagyu steak frites with fries $36, was okay, I did not really taste any flavor. The fries were okay too, they were not seasoned evenly so some had no flavor but some had a ton of seasoning that I had a burning sensation in my mouth. Florentine bow tie pasta $16, I enjoyed this the most! It has great flavor and was prepared well. Honey lime seared salmon $24 Service was good with friendly staff Parking lot in the front was small, but we were able to park in the neighboring parking lot right next to it.

Yelp
Such a cute place and especially great for happy hour! We ordered the grapefruit Paloma & margarita - both were refreshing in the Texas heat. Happy hour is $3 off menu prices for drinks. We also shared appetizers - hummus & pita and Brussels sprouts. LOVED the Brussels sprouts, perfectly crispy! While we didn't try any of the main menu items, portion size was great and these were quite filling. Add some live music and lots of greenery with a view of the river. I'd def come again! Only call-out is parking does fill up quickly and can be a struggle if you don't get a spot.
google avatar

Gamini G.

Yelp
This is our favorite date place. Love the ambiance and the cocktails! We usually get a table outdoors overlooking the greenery. I always get the Thai curry with jasmine rice. Love the flavors. Would recommend reserving your spot in advance.

Yelp
I came here brunch and had a great experience. The view is so nice when the weather cooperates. I ordered Mac and cheese plus chicken. Max and cheese was super creamy and I loved the breading/spices on the chicken. The lox bagel was pretty good too. They had several flavors of mimosas and it was a good ratio of alcohol to juice. Service was pretty friendly. I'd def come here again for a casual meal.

Yelp
The place is nice, parking is very limited. The view I'm the back I can see would be very lovely. You have a view of the river and trees. The restaurant is decorated nicely but not over done. They have several flower walls for pictures. We made a reservation for 10. We were seated immediately. The staff was pleasant and helpful with options. It is not a loud environment. The vibe I got was more date night/ business meet older people birthdays. The food was good but personally not my favorite options. My parents loved the quail and the chicken. The drinks were tasty and brought out quickly. Overall it was a lovely experience.

Yelp
Overall, our group of 4 was pleased with our brunch at Tillery. The location is lovely- if you sit outside, you have a beautiful view of the river. The inside seemed rather small, but we opted to eat outdoors since it was a gorgeous day. Service was a little leisurely, but overall good enough. I was super sad at first because there was no French toast on the menu. However, they do have waffles, which you can get as a side dish. I got the traditional, which came with eggs, bacon, a small piece of smoked sausage, breakfast potatoes and toast. I asked about the waffles, and the server said they were small, so I got two. Yes, I was being a glutton! Overall, the meal was good. The potatoes were amazing! Lightly crisp on the outside and buttery soft in the middle, and nicely seasoned. The eggs, bacon and sausage were all good too. The waffles were decent, but they came out barely warm and we had to request butter, which was hard and cold- fresh out of the freezer. I appreciated that they offered a non-dairy option for my coffee (oat milk). I tasted my friend's crepe, but it was way too sweet for me. Tillery was a little on the pricey side for brunch, but overall we were all pleased enough.

Yelp
Stop what you're doing and go to tillery right now. It's the best food experience with stunning views of the lake. Imagine yourself biting into a decadent, creamy and savory crawfish Mac and cheese with a side of the perfectly charred Brussels sprouts while sipping on a refreshing hibiscus Paloma. In the words of my husband, the Mac and cheese tastes like something your great grandma would materialize out of thing air and be beautiful, yet much better. The sharp cheddar they use works amazing with both the crawfish and the andouille sausage, while the peppery flavor accentuates the smokiness of the meat. The portion sizes of the appetizers are incredible! They're a bit big to share for two people but you'll love them so much you'll be happy you had leftovers to bring home. Don't sleep on the coconut curry! The zucchini, cauliflower, and carrots are perfectly cooked in the sweet and spicy curry. It's unlike anything I've ever had, it's a must try. A second best would be the mojito lime salmon; the crispy skin will melt in your mouth! The cauliflower purée is a MasterClass in texture and creaminess. Don't mind me, I'll just be making cauliflower purée for thanksgiving from now on. The staff is so attentive and helpful too -we had to call when we arrived to figure out parking since the front was full but thankfully they have extra spots in between the (albeit rundown looking) Planet K and the restaurant. TLDR: 10/10 would recommend. My husband and I will absolutely be coming back soon :)

Yelp
Came here during the week on a Tuesday and there wasn't a wait at all. We got to enjoy the beautiful view by sitting outside and it was lovely. Our server was very attentive and always came back with refills and drink recommendations. We both decided on the burger and it was a great choice. It was delicious and super tasty. Can't wait to come back and try more items!

Yelp
What the hell happened to Tillery kitchen and bar? Why is it permanently closed? I loved eating there. I rated it five stars and now it no longer is. What a disappointment!

Yelp
Love tillery! Great food and a beautiful back patio. Would recommend the breakfast hash and their bloody Mary's

Yelp
Came here on Friday for a wedding rehearsal dinner. The venue is beautiful, and the room we had was equipped with a private bar! We had HH-priced drinks until 7 before settling down for dinner, which consisted of salad, brussel sprouts, short rib with blueberry BBQ sauce or chunky chimichurri, and vegetarian pappardelle. The brussel sprouts stole the show and were so tasty with a slight kick of spice. Everything else was good but nothing amazing. I got a sage margarita, which was only $10 during HH and was pretty good. The staff did a great job, and the night went smoothly! There were two long rectangular tables that spanned the room, as well as an elevated nook with two smaller tables where the bride and groom sat. I want to say there were maybe 40 people there, though the space may be large enough to accommodate more. Bathrooms are outside just around the corner. Parking is limited so I would recommend Uber for large crowds, but if you are just coming here for a normal occasion, it's not too hard to get a spot nearby.

Yelp
I've wanted to go to Tillery for some time to check out the view and their brunch. Unfortunately, I was just less than impressed with the food and the comfort of the seating on the patio. I took my sister to Tillery on a visit and we just were surprised at how average it was. Maybe I had set my expectations too high? I had a burger on the brunch menu and my sister ordered mac and cheese. The burger was insanely dry. The home fries it came with were good. My sisters mac and cheese was good but not great. Everything felt too expensive for what we got. The service was all right. The waitress was nice but not super attentive. Overall, I'd look to other spots with a view before I'd go to Tillery again.

Yelp
This place has it all! Good eats, great ambiance, sensational service, waterfront views, and of course, patio lights. The mussels were so incredible we got multiple orders. Don't get the aioli cuz you will eat all of that garlicky goodness in the first minute it arrives. Ok fine get the aioli. Beef tongue was unbelievably tender, perfectly paired with a red pepper sauce. Our favorite time to go is dusk so you can watch the sky change colors and enjoy multiple vibes. Don't forget to tip the $1 beer to the kitchen staff for all their hard work!

Yelp
Cute date night spot with live bluegrass music on Wednesday evenings. One of the best outdoor restaurant/bar areas I've been to in Austin. The area around has a lot of free parking which is a huge plus for an area close to downtown Austin. Wednesday night was low to moderately busy, excellent spot for a night out! Food was a little salty though (brussels, fries), could have just been that night but we're willing to come back for a second try.

Yelp
Best brunch location in austin for sure!!! Parking was a bit tricky, but if you turn into the very side of the restaurant there are a view spots or you can park at the store next door. I hadnt made a reservation and came on a saturday afternoon and only had a 5 minute wait time.. The service was great and the outdoor patio was beautiful- you can see the river from your seats! I got the omelette with the house fries and it was amazing- the house fries were so crispy and addicting. The pomegranate cocktail was also great super fresh and zesty. For dessert, I got the flourless chocolate cake and oh my it was heavy but so delicious. It can definitely be shared by 2 people. Overall I hope to come here again; the experience, ambiance, and food was great :-)

Yelp
The view at Tillery K&B alone makes the a 5 star scenario. I was lucky enough to stumble upon Bluegrass Wednesdays and was NOT disappointed. We ate on the patio and enjoyed a delightful sunset while we snacked on the croquettes and ATX Mules. A couple of the information spots I checked beforehand mentioned Valet parking which they DO NOT have but whoever I spoke with at the hostess stand was very helpful suggesting to park on 2nd street and walk over. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive but not over bearing. We didn't feel rushed and got to really enjoy the patio ambiance.
google avatar

Novalina N.

Yelp
Visited in late April 2021 Beautiful river view and delicious happy hour! Definitely order the brussel sprouts and the croquettes. Just like what everyone said, the dishes are a bit pricey (even for HH) but the finger food portions are pretty big so the HH is still a good deal. We didn't order the main entree. I'm surprised by the covid protocol of placing the plates in a side table next to the main table, considering that we were outdoors. I find it to be more of a hassle than it's worth.
google avatar

Brandon S.

Yelp
Went here for brunch with a large group. I had the eggs Benedict with a side of waffles. Food was perfect as well as the drinks. I'm shocked that this place wasn't packed on a Sunday. I definitely recommend coming here and sitting outside if it isn't in the summer.
google avatar

Brenda G.

Yelp
Five stars for outstanding COVID precautions. A group of 7 of us dined here last night and felt so safe! One of our friends made a reservation here a week or so in advance. When we arrived it was raining but thankfully it cleared out. The staff was super accommodating and wiped down the tables and chairs for us. When you walk in they explain all rules like wearing masks when standing up, etc. They also placed a secondary table next to us to place our food and drinks and to give us more personal space. They used to offer valet parking, but I'm guessing due to COVID that's currently not an option. They have enough parking around the venue though. We enjoyed our drinks and lounge style plates. And we also had happy hour pricing which they offer even on weekends.

Yelp
I can't believe I didn't know this brunch place existed in Austin, but I guess it's because it's not really located in central Austin. However, you'd be surprised to find out that Tillery sits on the edge of the river, and if you sit outside, the views and vibe are really nice. My friend and I ordered mimosas, crepes, and French toast. Everything was delicious! I love how many juice options they offer, and the crepes is something interesting and unique I haven't seen another Austin restaurant serve yet. I really recommend coming to Tillery. They have live music sometimes, and the ambience of the restaurant is nice.

Donna Z.

Yelp
Had read some reviews before going. Some good, one really bad, so I agreed to give it a try. Should have heeded the advice of the one bad review. Food was not great, I probably would have given it two stars overall, except it was SO expensive for not even mediocre food. The fried zucchini appetizer was the only thing I thought was good and that could just have been because I was so hungry. My hash breakfast was incredibly salty and not very good. In addition a friend ordered steak and eggs and she couldn't eat the steak because it was so tough. Everyone else's response: meh." In addition, the service was VERY slow, and there was barely anyone else in there, so there was really no excuse. Not going back and DEFINITELY wouldn't recommend.

Clara E.

Yelp
Ordered a $42 steak medium and it was served completely different than the menu described. It was dry and they served it with fries and ketchup and mayonnaise. The waitress just said that's how the chef is serving it today. There's no view to the lake looks like a nice backyard. I've had better steak at Logan's for $25

Randall J.

Yelp
Food was mediocre; Market steak was fatty and tasteless. Snapper was ok...Roasted smoked carrots were tasteless as well. Sadly the best item was the French fries. Outdoor dining provides nice view. Server was courteous. Won't go back.

Yelp
I went twice for brunch because they have nice outdoor Food is okay wish they can do better. Maybe i should try dinner instead of brunch

Yelp
Booked a date evening table for two. In short: Patio view is 5 stars; cocktails are 5++ stars; food is 2 stars. The patio view is totally stunning on the edge of Lady Bird Lake. Definitely shoot for reservations with timing for sunset. And as spectacular as the view was, the menu of specialty cocktails stole the evening. We thought the cocktail recipes were unique and especially memorable. Unfortunately, the food was only so-so. We had hummus to start that was sorta dry and average. For main course, I had a pasta that was decent. My date chose the "safe option" Burger from the menu, and later disclosed it was the worst burger he'd actually ever had in Austin. This was about two months ago from the time of this writing, so with luck the food menu has improved! If anything, the view and cocktails are enough for a visit.
google avatar

Kristina K.

Yelp
Big foodies here and we eat out in Austin all the time. This place severely under delivered brunch. Food lacked flavor. Price point is fine but food didn't match the price. Overview: Food - supppper average maybe 2.5 stars. Service - sloooooooow. They were nice so I'd give this 3 stars. Ambiance - outdoor seating with sun out was the only redeeming quality. 3.5 stars.
google avatar

Gabriella R.

Yelp
The market fish and potatoes au gratin were so delicious and filling. Beautiful and cozy feeling amongst the trees and the staff promptly accommodated us inside when the rain came. Don't miss out on the spicy Mexican martini and if you're looking for something strong with truly only a hint of sweetness try the crackerjack. All around a fantastic restaurant and experience!
google avatar

Sunita S.

Yelp
Tillery has been very consistent over the past 7 years... CONSISTENTLY DISAPPOINTING! We came here when we first moved to Austin and the place is very pretty and has a great vibe too but the drinks as well as food were very underwhelming. We decided to give them another shot at NYE this year and hoped it would've gotten slightly better. They've probably gotten worse if that's possible... we got the pre fixed menu. I got the braised cabbage and the mushroom risotto. The risotto looked AND tasted like mush that was made for babies with no flavor. The cabbage was pretty bad too. My husband got the chicken liver mousse and the lamb shank both of which he thought was food we could take home for our dog. At the end of the night, we ended up at Taco Bell for a better meal. I'm surprised this restaurant is still in business with such poor quality of food. They seem to be relying on the views from the restaurant to run the business for them rather than the food.
google avatar

Gabrielle K.

Yelp
I loved the food here and the ambiance. I ordered their special red snapper and one side was crispy. It was served with warm red cabbage and an apple/fennel salad. I also ordered the grilled romaine salad and my dad ordered the Tillery burger. We will be back!

Yelp
Not surprised to read on another review on the hostess. We experienced the same thing. We had made a reservation but when we checked in at the hostess stand- she couldn't find the reservation. She was telling us a 20 min wait (which is not a big deal), but when we asked about maybe going into the bar and order a drink while we wait, it was a short 'my bar is full'. Then our friend pulled up an email confirmation, she was able to seat us. Our waitress was much nicer, recommended some drinks and menu items. Now, let's talk the setting- great vibe, right on the river with a big deck. We enjoyed the architecture of the building and the greenery around us. I can see how this could be a great spot to get together with friends or host an event. Food wise- it was ok. Some great high lights, some items were not executed well. Hummus + Pita: excellent. Great flavors and pita bread was warm and soft. Pickled veggies- they were ok. Appreciate the homemade feel and taste, a bit too vinegary without some good anchoring flavors. Bulgogi skewers over rice- good flavors, meat was a bit tough, and if it came with more veggies it would have made the dish feel more like an entree (it came with a few thin slivers of bell pepper). Frittata- my friend ordered the dish and she said the texture inside was 'tofu' like, mushy. Side of fried chicken and gravy- fried chicken was over done, and the gravy was sweet. Great spot for vibes, but we were definitely not impressed by the food.

Yelp
Glad to see that there were a decent amount of outdoor space. Attended this restaurant for a dinner party. The outdoor view was pleasant and liked the casual outdoor feel. I ordered the ATX Mule which was pretty good but lacked alcohol. The fries and burger were good; nothing special. Staff were nice and they implemented face coverings during movement throughout. The downfall came about during the end. The waitress made it unnecessarily difficult and cumbersome for us when it came to paying. Everyone's bill was all over the place. She then suggested to split it 6 ways amongst us. Well, that's totally unacceptable because our orders varies drastically in pricing. She didn't care to even sort it out. How difficult is it to punch in the orders individually and print a receipt?? That was the annoying part.

Yelp
Nice spot off east Cesar Chavez with a nice view of Town Lake, the baseball fields, and the new Oracle office. I went for happy hour yesterday and we saw a great sunset through the large picture windows. They have a great outdoor seating area but it was cold. This would be a great place for day drinking when the weather is nice. Happy hour is until 7pm. Great $5 wines on draft and $3 off the cocktails (I had their ATX Mule which was delicious and a glass of the draft rosé which was good if a little sweet for me), $1 of lounge plates. I really wanted the fried green tomatoes but we decided to be good and got the pickled veggies, roasted brussel sprouts, and chicken skewers. The pickled veggies were great, I would have loved to take the juice home to splash in bloody maries. The Brussels were good, it's a huge serving, better to share with four people vs two. The chicken skewers were just okay-- they were a little charred on the outside and a little wet in the middle-- I'm sure they were fully cooked as I tend to overcook my chicken, but the vastly different textures and temps was off-putting. I definitely want to come back and try more of the dinner menu and to check out brunch.

Yelp
If you want an outdoor brunch with a view, this is the place! The Tillery Kitchen has a lovely patio space that overlooks the Colorado River and is surrounded by lush greenery. The ambiance was what really set this restaurant apart from other brunch places. We were visited by a couple of bees while dining, but it didn't bother us too much. As for the food, this restaurant has a limited menu. I ordered the fried chicken and biscuits, and my friend ordered the basil pesto pasta with added fried chicken. The chicken was lacking flavor and was a bit on the drier side than I would have liked. The gravy on the biscuits was a bit salty. The basil pesto pasta was pretty solid, and I liked the addition of sun-dried tomatoes. Overall, very average food options and flavor profiles, but the dining setting is really what is worth!
google avatar

Matthew D.

Yelp
The ambiance and the setting was really nice but both times I've been there, the food was just poorly done. The brunch hash was all potatoes and the the second visit my salad was loaded with rotting lettuce. The service was great, but I'll not be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Good atmosphere, friendly staff and great food. Here are my two issues...the "pickled vegetables" for brunch are very small portions and seem like they aren't really pickled but just tossed into a bunch of vinegar at the last moment. Adding salmon to the beet salad should not be an additional 18$, that salad was 36 dollars and seems a but steep. Other than that I thought it was a good spot. Also very dog friendly

Yelp
First time coming here! We came on a Thursday evening for a going away HH. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I appreciated the drink recommendation as I'm never sure what to get to drink. Im not a drink connoisseur. I tasted the Brussels sprouts and they were delicious. I saw the burger and the skewers at our table and everything looked good. I did try the fries and they were quite spicy! I like spicy, but I think it was accidental as one of our friends is a regular here and said they're usually not this spicy. It's a cute place to check out. So if you're looking for a nice place for a date/reunion/HH/treat yourself check it out.

Yelp
Five stars ALL around!! Tillery Kitchen and Bar is nestled on the most beautiful spot along the river, with an absolutely gorgeous view, and patio! I have to first commend them on what I believe, is the BEST, most stringent COVID protocols of any restaurant in Austin! They have tables at the end of each diners table, where you place your old dishes, so as to help eliminate close-contact, SUCH a great idea! We arrived for brunch without a reservation, and only had to wait 15 minutes, during which time we grabbed cocktails from the "boat bar" in the adorable outdoor waiting area, which was arranged with couches and tables. The host came and personally got us, and explained all of their protocols thoroughly and clearly. He offered us either indoor, or outdoor seating, and even offered us blankets for outdoors since it was a bit chilly. We ultimately opted to sit indoors because although they are dog-friendly outside, for one very rare occasion we did not have our pups, and wanted to enjoy the quiet inside. The food was absolutely outstanding!! I opted for the Cajun duck pappardelle pasta, which was out of this world! I'm still thinking about it days later to be honest. It was such a perfect-sized portion, loaded with the most decadent sauce, and tons of duck meat! I would absolutely order this again and again, no questions asked! My husband had the poke bowl, which was so bright, and colorful, and one of the freshest I've ever tasted! It was full of fresh tuna and veggies, and was actually far more filling than it looked! We also ordered a side of fried chicken, because, well, it's fried chicken, duh! It was so hot, and juicy, we were definitely impressed! The drinks were all outstanding as well, each filled with fresh hand-squeezed juice, fruit and fresh herbs. Each was better than the last, from the bloody mary, to the sangria and their usual cocktails. The service was outstanding, the staff was so friendly, and there is not one single thing we could find wrong. I highly recommend Tillery for a brunch date, romantic date, friend date, and all of the above!

Yelp
Fantastic location on the water with superb food and friendly service. We all enjoyed our meals- salmon salad, burgers and pork lettuce wraps delicious. Wine selection was also on point!

Yelp
Tillery had been on my radar for the longest time and I was so excited when we finally got the opportunity to go. I think the biggest issue and complaint of Tillery is the high price per dish. And being super frugal, I know this is a legitimate complaint. But you are paying for the amazing view and scenery all around you. I love dinning outside and for me, the price tag of Tillery was acceptable. We started out with Hummus and Pita. The pita was baked perfectly and super soft. It was an outstanding appetizer dish. I then chose the cauliflower curry for my main dish. I added chicken in order to make the dish more substantial. It was really good, I was pleasantly surprised because I am not a cauliflower fan. I also applaud how they are handling COVID conditions. They have a specific table connected to your table where all the dishes get delivered and picked up from a distance. For food and drinks for two, we spent about $80 but were more than satisfied. I consider Tillery to be a nice date-night place and will definitely be back to enjoy the spectacular views.

Yelp
This spot is beautifully located on the river and boasts a big outdoor patio covered in twinkle lights. Upon entering, they ran through their COVID precautions, which were really thought through and intricate. It took several minutes to get through all of them and the host looked winded from saying it so many times. I don't blame him! We got sat outside and enjoyed some local beers. We also got the burger and the salmon, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The salmon had a light cream sauce and was a full portion. My husband enjoyed his burger as well. The water glasses were tiny, but the service was great, so that wasn't a problem. This seemed to be a hot date spot, with several couples falling in love under the twinkle lights. it's a special spot!

Yelp
My husband planned a surprise date night here and the patio really is so gorgeous, overlooking the river. Good spot for a pretty ambiance. Their happy hour, cocktails and brussel sprouts were delicious. We ordered as our meal some kind of duck pasta, and I would not recommend it.

Yelp
Brunch with a nice river view, but very windy outside. The Tillery burger was great, add bacon to make it even better. The Morning Hash was disappointing.

Yelp
Boyfriend & I visited for dinner at 6 PM on a Saturday. No wait to be seated, even without reservations. Parking area in front of the restaurant is quite small, but we were able to easily find street parking about 2.5 city blocks away. Took us less than 5 minutes to walk from where we parked to the restaurant. Tillery features tons of super cute, unique design details that start in the parking lot & continue throughout the entire property. It's definitely easy on the eyes & a lovely setting that maximizes the location on the river. A perfect place to enjoy a lingering visit. We chose to sit inside, although most of the other patrons were on the patio. Inside dining/bar is pretty small, as the majority of Tillery's seating is dedicated to taking advantage of the back patio areas that overlook the river. Both indoor & outdoor dining areas are lovely. Nice, pleasing ambience. There's a beautiful bar in the inside dining area & outside, there's a bar that's built from a boat. Inside features panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, so even if you're like us & feel there are only about 7 to 9 days per year that are pleasant enough to be outside in Austin & therefore, choose to sit indoors, you'll still have a great view of the river. An aspect of Tillery's design that I really appreciated is that the indoor dining area & the kitchen are in separate buildings, so you won't smell like cooking when you're done with your meal. I wish more restaurants would incorporate this. The menu is on the small-ish side, which I never mind, since I'm of the opinion that this usually indicates that a restaurant chooses to showcase what it does best. Menu items are unique with a variety of taste options available. Boyfriend was very happy that they had Stella Artois, which is his beer of choice. I got sweet tea, which I found overly sweet, even after diluting it with water. That's really saying something coming from this life-long sweet tooth. I didn't drink much of it. After dinner, I ordered the drip coffee & it was absolutely delicious. One of the best drip coffees I've had from a restaurant! For dinner, boyfriend ordered the Tillery Burger with steak fries. He was very pleased with it, saying it was a delicious burger. I had the Bourbon Chicken Skewers, served with tricolor pepper garlic confit & jasmine rice. My dish was just OK. Edible but not standout in anyway. I found the confit, which was served over the rice, to be way too sweet. Sauce on the chicken wasn't as flavorful as I would have preferred & it didn't have any grilled flavored to speak of. Still, I finished almost the entire dish. However, I'd choose something different next time. The only thing that we had a small issue with was the slow service. Our waiter was also one of the bartenders at the indoor bar, so we were able to see that while he was steadily busy preparing drinks, he wasn't so busy that it should have affected the timeliness of our service. It took quite awhile for our drinks to arrive, several minutes for boyfriend to be offered a second beer after finishing his first, & 15+ plus minutes to get our check. Overall, I recommend visiting Tillery & we plan to return for brunch. I'm looking forward to more of their outstanding coffee!

Yelp
Environment was good, view was good. Food and drinks where lacking Burger bun was dry Marg tasted like mixer
