Tim's Tavern is your friendly neighborhood spot in White Center, serving up epic beer, a diverse menu of scrumptious bites, and a lively lineup of trivia and live music.
"Music venue schmusic venue — nothing’s stopping you from treating this White Center spot like a vegan restaurant. The story here is that owner Mason Reed spent time doing catering for a lot of vegan rock and pop stars and when Tim’s reopened in a new location after a hiatus, he designed a menu of that included a whole section of plant-based items, including a decadent plate of tater tots covered in plant-based cheese. Vegan food can be bar food too." - Sean Keeley, Eater Staff
"Tim’s Tavern didn’t need to massively upgrade its menu when it reopened in White Center in 2023; it had built enough of a following as a venue in Greenwood that music fans would have probably followed it down south. But instead, co-owner Mason Reed revamped the food, unveiling a sprawling menu of bar food plus adventurous items like a pear and arugula flatbread and a bacon jam grilled cheese. It’s also one of the most welcoming menus in town, with gluten-free and vegan options galore." - Mark DeJoy, Harry Cheadle, Harry Cheadle
"Tim’s Tavern, a popular venue in Seattle known for its live music lineup, announced its closure at its current address due to leasing issues and COVID-19 concerns. The venue, originally established as Jack's Tavern in the 1930s, became a major spot for live music, particularly punk shows, under the management of Greg Gibson, Mason Reed, and Matthew O’Toole. After closing in March 2020 due to the pandemic, it reopened in July 2021 but faced challenges due to the delta variant. The owners decided to close it again in August 2021 with plans to find a new location. The venue is known for giving 100% of ticket sales to bands and maintaining a basic menu of drinks and snacks." - Gabe Guarente
