"Miami “Like a lot of things that happened this year, Rosie’s wasn’t planned. It was born out of necessity when the team behind Miami’s Copper Door B&B found themselves with an empty hotel and bills to pay. With no guests to cook for, they opened Rosie’s and started cooking for Miami. Their menu was small at first, with a fried chicken sandwich, fish and grits, and a few more southern brunch dishes. And when I first ordered from them, the smell of the fish and grits in my passenger seat made me want to throw my car in park right in the middle of the highway so I could start tearing into it with my fingers. Thankfully I didn’t do that - but I think that urge sums up Rosie’s pretty well. They’ve since expanded with new dishes like wild mushroom polenta and rigatoni carbonara and have outdoor seating now too, which is where I’m going to eat this food from now on, for the safety of all Miami drivers.” - Ryan Pfeffer, Miami Editor" - team infatuation
"Pastrami Hash Every time I go to Rosie’s in Overtown, I think, Wow, this place is as good as it gets. But then I go back only to discover that they’ve somehow managed to get even better. That’s what happened this week when I tried their pastrami hash for the very first time. It’s a big pile of house-smoked pastrami, crispy cubed potatoes, sweet potato sformato, roasted scallion vinaigrette, with a heavy snowfall of parmesan shaved over the whole thing. Despite being full of very rich things like pastrami and cheese, it was still somehow balanced and delicate and I kind of wish I ordered two, because it reheated wonderfully the next day." - ryan pfeffer, carlos c olaechea
"At Rosie’s, it doesn’t have to be a Sunday to indulge in a brunch spread. Akino and I are humbled to hear many of our guests tell us that the Rosie’s experience was of one of the best brunches they’ve had in Miami. Our concept features limited-contact service, a cozy garden vibe, and an outstanding menu of well-executed Southern breakfast dishes with Italian nuances. My personal favorite is our Soft Scramble Toast, a straightforward dish of perfectly scrambled eggs and roasted wild mushroom atop a slice of multigrain toast - simple, yet so savory and satisfying. A lot of people know us for our crispy hot chicken, Southern polenta, and house-made buttermilk biscuits. But we also like to surprise our guests with weekend specials, so follow us on Instagram for the latest." - jamila west
"Rosie’s is an Overtown pop-up run out of Copper Door B&B, and just about everything on the small menu is incredible. They do takeout and delivery only and are open for breakfast and lunch Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. If you’re on the hunt for a breakfast sandwich, try their sausage and egg version. It’s more like a breakfast hotdog (which isn’t a bad thing at all) and it’s covered in sauteed greens, roasted tomato, and a fried egg." - ryan pfeffer
"Pastrami Hash If we spent the day climbing a rather challenging mountain, Rosie’s pastrami hash is what we’d want for breakfast the next morning. It’s a big pile of smoked pastrami, cubed potatoes, sweet potato sformato, roasted scallion vinaigrette, and a heavy snowfall of parmesan shaved over the whole thing. It is, like every brunch dish at Rosie’s, phenomenal. But what’s really special about this dish is that, despite being full of enough rich things to satisfy a hungry mountaineer, it’s balanced and surprisingly light thanks to the sweet potato sformato." - ryan pfeffer
