Where ‘The Real Housewives of Potomac’ Ladies Dined in Season 9

"Taking in some mother and daughter time, Gizelle and her eldest Grace visited the new Chinatown desserts parlour that specializes in boozy frozen concoctions. Grace ordered the chocolate with peanut butter while Gizelle opted for dark chocolate ice with a whiskey infusion." - Vinciane Ngomsi, Tierney Plumb

Where to Go When You Just Want Drinks & Dessert

"This tiny Chinatown parlor only serves ice cream and booze, which makes it a summertime, afterwork, or any-old-time dream. Grab a flight of four ice cream shots and the Cherry Blossom Old Fashioned, a cocktail the New York-based chain only sells here. Doors open at 1pm, so swing by on a hot day to grab your afternoon snack before finishing the work day. Or play hooky, post up at the Tetris-configured countertops, and eat your spoils underneath the blue Capitol Building sundae painted on the wall." - omnia saed, tristiana hinton

Tipsy Scoop - Review - Chinatown - Washington DC - The Infatuation

"There is never a bad time for the creamy (mostly boozy) treats at Tipsy Scoop. The New York-based chain serves scoops, sundaes, sandwiches, and cakes, plus cocktails with and without ice cream. Get a flight your first time, so you can try out four shots of different flavors like the cherry blossom old fashioned, an exclusive flavor for this location. Swing by on a hot day to grab and go, or if it’s slow, post up at the Tetris-configured countertops around the edges of the tiny store and eat your spoils underneath the blue Capitol Building sundae painted on the wall." - Tristiaña Hinton

**Refreshing Delights at Tipsy Scoop 🍦🍹** During my first visit to Tipsy Scoop in D.C., I indulged in a delightful, boozy ice cream adventure. The experience was a flavorful journey with bourbon vanilla, virgin chocolate, sangria, and colada. Each scoop was a perfect blend of taste and texture, showcasing their unique infusion of alcohol. The alcohol flavor was subtle, enhancing rather than overpowering each creamy delight. The bourbon vanilla was rich and smooth, while the virgin chocolate offered a luscious, decadent taste. Sangria and colada provided refreshing, fruity notes, capturing the essence of summer. A must-visit for a unique twist on classic treats! 🌟🍨

✨ I’ve been wanting to check out Tipsy Scoop DC Ice Cream Barlour ever since it opened, and I finally made it! I first discovered Tipsy Scoop over 10 years ago at EmporiYUM, the beloved DC food festival at Union Market, so I was excited to revisit this boozy ice cream brand in their own space. Located within walking distance of Chinatown and the Convention Center, this petite parlor has a few outdoor seats and a big personality. The concept? Ice cream infused with popular cocktails like margaritas, sangrias, and mimosas—yes, please! 🍦 If you’re indecisive like me, I recommend ordering the ice cream flight, which is a fun way to try four mini flavors. The presentation is adorable: a custom wooden tray with branded mini glasses, a tiny flag, and a Tipsy Scoop spoon. My flight included: - Mango Margarita Sorbet - Mom-Mosa (a Mother’s Day special: raspberries & cream ice cream with Lunetta Prosecco Rosé) - Strawberry White Sangria Sorbet - Cherry Blossom Martini Ice Cream Each scoop came topped with sweet little treats or sprinkles. Boozy, fun, and delicious! 🍸 Tipsy Scoop also serves ice cream cocktails that I can’t wait to try next time, like the Party Like It’s Your Birthday, DC Royale, Palm Reader (which looks like it comes with smoke!), and Inside the Toybox. I do wish they included brief descriptions for these cocktails like they do with the signature sundaes, it would make choosing a lot easier. 🍨 Not into cocktails? They have decadent signature sundaes like: - Tequila Sunrise - Old Fashioned - Mojito Creamsicle - Whiskey Dreams (dark chocolate whiskey & salted caramel ice cream, brownie bites, fudge!) - Boozy Breakfast (hazelnut coffee + tequila hot chocolate ice cream, topped with a Froot Loops donut and cookie crisps, plus you keep the souvenir glass!) ✔️ IDs are checked for all cocktail-infused options, but they also offer mocktail flavors, like a Salty Margarita Mocktail, for those who prefer to skip the booze. 💫 The vibe is vibrant, colorful, and fun with lots of eye candy (that won’t impact your waistline 😄). The staff was friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions. If you’re in the area and craving something sweet with a twist, I definitely recommend stopping by Tipsy Scoop DC. It’s a unique and memorable ice cream experience!

I always wanted to try alcohol infused ice cream and now that I have, I should have done it before because it is fenomenal! Its hard to describe the strawberry white sangria but it was so good and the creaminess of the other which I don’t even remember what flavor was it but it was 10/10. Service was also great, thanks to the guy at the counter for being so patient with me. The best part was that I could eat it outdoors and didn’t have to worry about getting arrested 😂

Google
Cute spot for tasty boozy ice cream!! I've seen Tipsy Scoop catered at a few events before, but this was my first time stepping into their brick-and-mortar store. It was a small, but super vibrant and cozy space. There's a ton of colorful and fun decor, and the owner / staff are all super friendly! They let us try a couple of flavors (in fact, they encouraged us to try flavors before we ordered, which I really appreciated), and we eventually settled on their strawberry sorbet. There's a decent alcohol content, and I was impressed that the alcohol didn't alter the texture of the ice cream / sorbets much. They also did a great job making sure that you could taste the alcohol, but not overly so -- each scoop was tasty and balanced. It's, admittedly, a little bit pricey at ~$8.50 per scoop. However, considering that there's alcohol in the ice cream, it's not an outrageous price. I think it's a great spot if you want to try something new / quirky / Instagrammable, but Tipsy Scoop probably won't be my go-to for just ice cream or for just a drink.

I saw this spot when I was browsing yelp and thought I would check it out. Following dinner my niece and I walked to this spot. Note: it’s a small space! There is limited seating inside. They offer pints that you can purchase to take home. Additionally, they offer scoops for purchase to enjoy on site. We were offered an opportunity to try flavors prior to purchase. ( it appears they ID everyone- so don’t forget your drivers license!) I tried the Christmas special, it was underwhelming. My niece tried the cake batter flavor and opted to purchase a scoop. I tried that flavor- again, not impressed. The ice cream lacks flavor. For me, it’s not worth the calories, the staff did advise that the alcohol content is 5%- just in case you were wondering. For me, it’s a no and never again. However, I strongly encourage everyone to try things for themselves. Your taste buds may differ from mine!

Fabulous Black-owned local business with delicious ice cream and sorbet. Friendly staff and excellent vibe. Indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend!

The ice cream tastes fantastic but you just don’t taste or feel the alcohol at all. It’s maybe like having a quarter of a beer at most? I would definitely come here for the novelty and to have some good ice cream rather than to get buzzed.

We have wanted to try this place out for quite some time, and finally did. We got the ‘Tequila Sunset Sundae’ and 2 scoops of the ‘Spiked Mint Chocolate Chip’ Ice cream. The ice cream was good and am excited to return to try other flavors and items. I think the customer service could use some improvement. I felt as if upon entering we were just expected to know what we wanted to order and how the entire process works. There are different menus across each wall, so l think just being able to walk guest through the menu and allow them to process it would make things a little better.

Yelp
I was referred here by a friend. The ice cream is very good and the flavors blend together well. The atmosphere is inviting and the music was on point. I highly recommend the vanilla ice cream with bourbon. if you get a chance, talk with Monique. She has a great energy and vibe.

Yelp
As a longtime fan of Tipsy Scoop's boozy ice creams and sorbets, I couldn't wait to try their cocktail-making class -- and it did not disappoint! The class was such a blast! It was an intimate group of 7, which made it easy to chat, make new friends, and enjoy the experience without feeling rushed or crowded. We got to create two specialty boozy ice cream drinks, which were just as fun to make as they were to sip on. Plus, trying all the flavors (including their brand-new holiday lineup!) Speaking of holiday flavors, the festive additions were a hit -- and now I'm counting down the days to try their Boozy Brownie Hot Chocolate. A brownie on top of a boozy hot chocolate? Sign me up! A huge shoutout to Danielle, the owner, for making the experience even more memorable. Her energy and knowledge about all the flavors really added to the fun -- and I love that Tipsy Scoop is officially the first boozy ice cream spot in DC! If you're looking for a unique and delicious activity, this class is a must. I'll definitely be back soon for more boozy treats and holiday vibes! Cheers to boozy desserts and good times!

Yelp
This is a very Instagrammable, alcoholic ice cream shop. I didn't know this existed. It's near Chinatown. The staff was really friendly, letting us try things (except me because I didn't have my Physical drivers license on me!) They are very, very strict about checking ID, which I appreciate and he was very kind. The ice cream is fine actually, the texture for boozy works but I've had it once and don't really need to come back. I do think some people will really enjoy a booze forward ice cream, so I do recommend it if you're a huge ice cream and booze person

Yelp
Ice Cream Cocktail Mixology -- 5 stars, I'll take 100 more classes! Lumiere Ice Cream Cocktail Class was SOOOO cool! Everyone knows I love Tipsy Scoop, like REAL BAD! I'm not a big alcohol person, but I'm a big ice cream person. So I get to enjoy a little bit of alcohol without it being too much for me. The class is from 11-1 pm so it starts and ends before the shop opens that way we aren't interrupted during our private session. We were able to try all the flavors that are offered. They have ice cream and sorbet. You make two cocktails in class. Both drinks were yummy and you get to keep your souvenir glass. Danielle who is the owner, is SO awesome, she was so fun!! The class was super dope, I cannot wait to take another one! Price is $65 per person.

Yelp
Holy Moly this place is fantastic. I went for the Monuments and Mimosa cocktail class. The class is from 11-1 pm so it starts and ends before the shop opens for regular customers. This location is so cute with a fun vibe. The music playing in the store is all drink related some way. The monument and mimosa cocktail class starts out with sipping on mimosas. We were able to try all the flavors that are offered. They have ice cream and sorbet. You make two cocktails in class. I'm not sure if they are different each class. In our class we made the cherry bomb (ice cream base) and the Day Drinker( sorbet base). Both drinks were delicious. At the end of the class you get a souvenir glass and 20% discount on the purchase of a pint (if purchased in class). I took advantage of the class discount and took home a pint of the Hazelnut Coffee. The owner ran the class and is super dope. She held my purchase while I ran across the street to order some food. I let her know how much I enjoyed her business and the class. I will certainly be back with friends!!!

Yelp
I had such a blast at Tipsy Scoop's boozy cocktail class! The experience was fun and interactive, plus we got to meet the owner, who was super welcoming. We made two delicious cocktails and had the chance to sample all of the ice cream flavors. If you're looking for a unique way to get a little buzz, this is the spot! Don't worry about getting too tipsy unless you're just playing it up for fun. My favorite was the Strawberry Sangria Sorbet--so refreshing! They also offer non-alcoholic options for anyone who doesn't want to indulge. Highly recommend for a fun outing!

Yelp
We came to Tipsy Scoop to try to celebrate my friends birthday and everywhere on google says they're open till 10 pm. We traveled about an hour to get here from MD and arrived at 7:00 pm to find out it was closed and it was so disappointing. **update after owner commented** We got to DC from MD where it was raining and snowing and ice was forming on the roads. We traveled 41 mins from there and DC did not have a speck of snow or rain anywhere. I understand inclement weather, however, there were other businesses open surrounding the store and google said it was open and online pickup was still available for the day. A sign should've been posted or some kind of social media update would've been helpful for other customers trying to come and purchase items.

Yelp
What a great little Barlour very inviting and lively. The line was jumping and the workers were serving so swiftly. The only thing is that they only take cards. As I was traveling I only carry cash so that was a little bummer. Good thing g a friend was able to purchase for me. The ice cream was great with hits of different alcohols they were very tasty. The flights with 4 different flavors was so well delivered. Very pretty and everything hit the spot. The day drinker was the BEST! The right amount of boozy cream and sherbet like scoops with champagne all around. So delicious! Great spot I absolutely loved it!

Yelp
This was so much fun! This ice cream stand was colorful and friendly. The ice cream is all various boozy takes of fun flavors. It was at the suggestion of the staff to pair the pb chocolate whiskey with the "Elvis" and it was a perfect blend. Some flavors taste more strongly of their alcohol counterpart than others, so definitely recommend sampling. The spectacle of the place and the friendliness of the staff really help to make it a fun experience.

Yelp
I was so excited to finally make it here. But it looks like so many other people were as well. There was a line out the door. There is metered street parking on the street out front of the shop as well as adjacent streets. It is located in Chinatown by the Capitol One Arena where the Washington Capitals play. The shop offers boozey ice cream that you can get in a flight, a cup, a cone, sundae, cocktail or cookie. You can also purchase pre-made pints. They have a very limited flavor selection that includes: Spiked Mint Chip, Raspberry Limoncello Sorbet, Tequila "Hot" Chocolate Ice Cream, Mango Margarita Sorbet, Strawberry White Sangria Sorbet, Spiked Hazelnut Coffee, Dark Chocolate Whiskey Salted Caramel and Vanilla Bean Bourbon. They also have some non-boozy ice cream available for those that do not drink or are not of age. The shop has very limited seating available where you can sit and enjoy your frozen treat. The shop is colorful and decorated with some nice murals. I waited in line about 15 minutes and ordered a Spiked Mint Chip cookie and got a pint of Raspberry Limoncello Sorbet. The cookie was delicious. I really liked the ice cream. It has to be my favorite thus far. The cookie was also very savory, be it small. I will say that the cookie was very messy though and looked nothing like its picture on the website. It was also very small. The pint was ok, but keep in mind that the ice cream is very hard to get a good freeze because of the booze in it. Hence, the messy cookie sandwich. To make a long story short, the ice cream does not travel very well. The staff there was friendly and I am glad that I made it here and look forward to coming back. I recommend you check this place out too.

Yelp
We'd taken a trip to DC specifically to try this place and were super excited. We planned the trip two months out! We arrived and there was a line out the door and down the street, which was to be expected. Upon entering we realized there were a few seats that bordered the window near the door and a table or two on the left hand side near the door. The way the store is set up it's not really designed to host dine-in guests or long lines. The guest service was poor. The employees made us feel like we were bothering them. They were lackluster and sloppy in their work. We had to repeat our order to the server three times. We watched as one of the servers arm grazed the top of the ice cream and she still served it to the customer. We then watched our ice cream melt on the side of our flight while the worker replaced ice cream in the case. The flights to go are served in small plastic shot glasses and then put in egg cartons. As we were waiting in line outside we saw a woman drop hers exiting the premises so we were on guard about ours knowing that the plastic cups inside the egg cartons didn't sufficiently hold those cups. We talked about this at length because we felt bad for the woman knowing that she wasted $4 - $5 as it wasn't likely they would've replaced it if she'd gone in and told them what happened. They really should just put the ice cream in the egg cartons itself for better stability. Despite our efforts, we also dropped one once we'd gotten in the car because the plastic cups were just so slick in the egg carton they didn't stand a chance. We were asked if we wanted our flight to dine in or to go. We thought nothing of this question and said to-go as dining in wasn't an option because the seating is minimal so our only real option was to have it to go. Once getting to the register, we noticed the total was a little over $20 for the $16 flight and asked if the $4 was all taxes and fees. We were then told there was a $3 up charge for flights to go. That isn't posted anywhere in the displayed pricing and they do not tell you upon asking you whether you want to dine in or want it to go. Good business practice would be to ask the question and in that same breath share all of the relevant information needed to make that decision, which includes the price differential. Again, it wasn't the $3 so much as it was how they went about it all. The ice cream is mediocre at best and you can barely taste any alcohol. We are quite the ice cream lovers and frequent ice cream shops, so, we have had our fair share of tastings and this fell flat. We struggled to tell the difference between the Vanilla Bean Bourbon and Cake Batter Vodka Martini, and were just generally underwhelmed and disappointed with the service but also the product.

Yelp
$20.35 (food: boozy flight) Tipsy Scoop monologue: So, on a nice stroll in this area of DC, the Tipsy Scoop Barlour appeared on my left. That name really caught my attention. Cute! I turned to face the window, read the window and was pleasantly excited about this option. I've never heard of this infusion and looked forward to indulging. A few days later, some folks came to visit me. Tipsy Scoop was on our things to do list. We strolled on over to this place and got there just in time. The shop is small, with a few seats. When we arrived, there were about 4 people in line. We ordered our boozy flights, 2 orders (I don't remember our flavors but take a look at the pics) and commandeered 3 seats, immediately. The presentation was super cute. It's a play on flights, like a beer or wine flight. Cute! Now, it was a bit melty (yes, that is a word...today), so that made for a bit of a messy experience. The cups that the ice cream was in, were too small for the spaces on the holder. The cups moved around in the positions they were placed. I would have liked for it to be a bit more snug. There are holes on the bottom of the flight holders, so all the melted ice cream escaped through the bottom (see the pics). The ice cream wasn't strong in flavor and where was the alcohol? Really, going to the Tipsy Scoop was just an experience; to try something for the first time. So, if you are looking for a new experience, with ice cream, yeah, go check it out...just to say you tried something new. P.S. - If you decide to wear your super cute clothes when you visit here, be super careful how you bring the melty ice cream to your lips. Either ask for some water, so you can instantly get the spilled ice cream off your clothes, or be sure to scoot all the way up to the table. Oh and don't expect to get "tipsy".

Yelp
This black owned, woman owned business won over my ice cream loving heart! From the attention grabbing decor, to the fun boozy flavors, to the stellar service, and fun tequila pop up vendor...this quaint spot was a 10/10.

Yelp
I happened to be in the area, and decided to come back here on a whim. I'm glad I did! I got there at about 2:30pm on a Sunday. When I came in, there was a group of 4 already there, but that was it, so I was able to get a seat no problem. By the time I ate and left, it was getting fairly crowded, but there were still a couple seats left. This time, I decided to get one of the Sundaes (I chose the It's My Party sundae). I believe it was $21, and I felt it was worth the price - especially considering you get to keep the glass! It was filled to the brim and had some cute decorations. I still didn't really taste alcohol in the cake batter ice cream, and I felt it tasted mostly like vanilla by itself, but the sprinkles and whipped cream helped it have more of a "birthday cake" feel and taste. This particular sundae also comes with an extra "shot" of an ice cream flavor of your choice. I decided to do the Cherry Blossom Old Fashioned, and it was really good! It was a unique flavor and isn't something you can just get anywhere else. I loved that this gave the opportunity to try something else. Customer service was also great. They greeted me as soon as I came in. The person who took my order was patient as I made my decision. They also asked me if I had any allergies, which I thought was really smart, and I haven't been to many places where that is asked without the customer mentioning it. They also switched out the glass I got my sundae in for a clean glass, which I appreciated! It makes a ton of sense to do so, but other places I've been just had me keep the same glass a product came in. Finally, perhaps the biggest change from my first visit is that they have changed the prices on a few items. I'm not sure if this is permanent or if they changed them for a temporary promotion, but the cost of the flight is now $18.50 (I think) vs $28 (the happy hour price is still $11). I think this is much more reasonable, and I would be inclined to get the flight again if the prices stay where they are (I didn't notice the change until I had already ordered, or that may have been what I got). If this *is* a permanent change, then it seems they are listening to customer feedback, which is commendable. Overall, I don't have any complaints about my second visit to Tipsy Scoop. I look forward to coming back and trying their other options!

Yelp
This is exactly what is sounds like. Fun, cocktail themed ice cream sundaes. Very expensive, especially for the fun cups and elaborate concoctions. Ice cream is delicious though, we got a single scoop of a number of flavors and enjoyed it. The alcohol taste is definitely present, but made it something different and wasn't too much. Fun thing to do if you're in the area. Small place and usually pretty crowded, so not likely to sit inside and enjoy.

Yelp
Tipsy Scoop is a super fun ice cream experience! I visited the Chinatown location with my friend after work and we LOVED the bright decor all around. With this being our first time at the store, the cashier was so kind and gave us a variety of samples before we landed on our picks. Besides Mint Chip, I really enjoyed the Mango Margarita sorbet, Hazelnut Coffee, and Salted Caramel. I ended up getting the Spiked Mint Chocolate Chip that was deliciously creamy. The mint wasn't too overpowering and had many chocolate chunks within it. The sundaes and cocktails looked divine! Fantastic place to visit with friends, family, and co-workers for Happy Hour. Loved supporting this Black Owned Business and will be back very soon!
google avatar

Alex J.

Yelp
Two of my joys, ice cream and alcohol. Best combo after dinner downtown. We tried the flight, which was a great idea to try four flavors. The sundaes sounds so yummy. We wanted the chocolate one, but they ran out of the coffee ice cream. Guess it's a popular one. Next time. The inside is a bit too small. The one four top table is right in the center so people in line are all around you, trying to come in on one spade and exit on the other.

Yelp
This spot is black owned and super unique. Feeling hot? Want to get boozy? Tipsy Scoop is the place to be! While my friend and I walked around Chinatown we stopped here for a cold treat. We both got one scoop of ice cream (very generous). Mine was a seasonal limited edition flavor of cotton candy with vodka. My friend got cherry blossom old fashioned. The ice cream was so refreshing and also a surprise kick from the infused liquor. The inside was decorated so cute and they offer a wide variety of options from milkshakes to cocktails. Customer service was excellent, she was very friendly and let us try different flavors until we found the one we liked best. When in Chinatown drop by to support this small business or even take an unexpected trip here just hop on the metro!

Khanh-Chau M.

Yelp
Pretty good boozy ice cream, but not completely sure if it's worth the wait and cramped space to get. For the flight, you need a table to get it and it was extremely crowded, so we had to fight for a seat before ordering and the staff didn't really care if we struggled to find a seat or not, kind of giving us a "that's your issue, not mine" tone when explaining it to us, which I thought wasn't the most kind. A little too crowded to enjoy the ambiance here but I'd say it's worth trying out at least once.

Yelp
After a lovely anniversary dinner, we decided to have dessert at Tipsy Scoop. We found street parking on I St. NW, a few feet from the store. It's small inside but we were the only customers. That allowed us to take our time and try a few flavors before deciding on which we would have. To be clear, this is ice cream with alcohol in it, so not for kids! Great for adults, though. I selected Elvis Whiskey Midnight Snack, which is Banana ice cream infused with Elvis Whiskey Midnight snack (peanut butter-banana-bacon whiskey) and swirled with gooey peanut butter. Oh yes, delightful, very creamy and tasty! My husband got the Dark Chocolate Whiskey Salted Caramel. Delish! We had to take home a pint: Spiked Mint Chip. This is a higher priced ice cream place so it will be saved for special treats, but I highly recommend.

Yelp
Delicious boozy ice cream, fun to try! The ice cream isn't that sweet and well-balanced by the 5% alcohol. There are about a dozen boozy flavors and 4 non-alcoholic flavors. Some flavors are more booze forward than others. Best of all, sprinkles are complimentary! Before committing to a flavor, definitely try a sample. The ice cream was so good that I came back twice in a week! The Tequila Hot Chocolate was hands-down my favorite flavor and seriously tasted like hot chocolate with a dash of tequila. The Spiked Cotton Candy was among my top picks and on the sweeter side compared to the Cake Batter Vodka Martini, which both have a subtle hint of vodka. The Vanilla Bourbon had a strong note of Bourbon. The Spiked Hazelnut Coffee and Dark Chocolate Whiskey Salted Caramel were pretty subtle. The 1st time I went, I got those 2 flavors and honestly wasn't that impressed. I'm so glad I went back and tried other flavors. The staff is super nice particularly the owner, Danielle Hatchett and her mom. They kindly and patiently let me have a few samples and her son is adorable, nice to see a working mama! You can score sweet happy hour deals (Mon - Fri 4-6pm) with 2 scoops for the price of 1 and worth the hefty price tag of $6.50/scoop! You can also $11 flight of 4 scoops or 1/2 off cocktails and Excited to come back to try some cocktails!

Yelp
This is a place you need to stop by and try! Parking: parking is a hit or miss when going. The line was wrapped outside the door but with the waits don't forget to try the flight where you can choose any 3 or 4 flavors. It's also small inside but since the summer is right around the corner it should be fine to walk around with you ice cream.

Yelp
The place had a cool vibe. It's very small so it's more of a takeout place. The server was fun and knew his stuff. The Ice Cream was great. It was definitely boozy as advertised, but it didn't hit hard or have an aftertaste. I had a scoop of Vanilla Bean Bourbon and Cherry Blossom (cherry with Japanese whiskey), both were delicious. I'd definitely come here again. Cool place.

Yelp
The vibe in here is phenomenal. Keep in mind you must be 21+ to indulge. The staff is beyond helpful and knowledgeable of not only the menu but also the pairing options of their various flavors. The hours of operation are very convenient and they happy hour offers great options to try different flavors, flights, cocktails and Sundays. The venue is very intimate. But still offers indoor seating. There is music playing, conversation, plenty of laughter and frozen libations. I have been twice since finding out about this spot. And I plan to return more and more. I advise anyone in the Chinatown area to do the same.

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday afternoon and there were not many people inside. I have wanted to try this place for a long time since it is so unique and I've never heard anything like it! The worker was so so kind and gave me two samples: the mint chocolate and cherry blossom. The alcohol taste was not very strong in the mint chocolate which is why I ended up ordering it since I did not want to eat bitter ice cream. The cherry blossom had a really strong whiskey taste which was not what I enjoyed but if you like whiskey, this flavor would be absolutely perfect! There is only street parking available so if you come on a weekend, it will take some time to find parking. Their bathroom is pretty clean and the interior was mostly pink, which is my favorite color and very enjoyable for an ice cream shop! I am also very glad they offered samples of whatever I wanted to try and the worker did not get impatient when I took my time to grab multiple samples. Since covid, most ice cream shops I have visited no longer offer samples, so I was pleasantly surprised to see tipsy scoop does. Samples are so important for deciding what to get so I highly recommend picking a few flavors to see what you like, especially since some flavors have strong alcohol tastes and others do not.

Yelp
I heard about this place and decided to stop in during their happy hour. The place itself is small and not really any seating with a ton of people working there. The cake batter, vanilla, and dark chocolate were all good and the coffee one was ok. I think you can really only taste alcohol in the vanilla bean bourbon. It was interesting to try but not sure if I would really want to go back.

Yelp
This place is cute! 5 stars for customer service and novelty, 3 stars for actual ice cream - it's totally fine, but not quite as good as regular ice cream. Still, a cute place in a convenient location, and staff were so sweet on my friend's birthday!

Yelp
Talk about an Amazing experience!!! We just so happen to go on a training day where new employees were taught how to make all menu items. Needless to say they had extras that they were so kind enough to give away!! We got two pints plus a Flight. I will be a repeat offender for the Hazelnut Ice Cream

Yelp
Tipsy Scoop D.C. is a novel but overrated ice cream shop. Located in the heart of Chinatown, it's a small store serving boozy flavors and large scoops. The workers are nice and there are plenty of flavor options! I tried their cherry blossom and spiked hazelnut. They were good but nothing to rave about. Whiskey was an odd choice and didn't work for the cherry blossom ice cream. The prices are reasonable ($9 for two big scoops). I don't think the ice cream is worth the wait or calories, and I don't think the hype is justified. Better off going to Dolcezza or another nearby ice cream shop.

Yelp
This place blew up on tik tok so we had to stop by one night. The line was long. It's a small place inside so don't expect to sit down. The ice cream was good. The night we went, they only had 3 flavors available because of the popularity. They are working to get more prepared for their crowd. I would go again.

Yelp
This place is so cute! My friend and I discovered it on Instagram and decided to check it out after being at a Smithsonian museum earlier in the day. The service was excellent. There was a like going out the door but the workers handled it well and they were very friendly and professional. The only complaint I have is that the venue is extremely small so there is not a lot of seating and it gets cramped. We were there on a rainy day so there were probably more people than usual there otherwise I'm sure you could just stand outside and eat. I got the vanilla bean bourbon ice cream and it did not disappoint!

Yelp
I've been following Tipsy Scoop coming to DC for months. I was super excited to try it. We got lucky and only had to wait about 20 minutes. We stopped by soon after they opened. Today is a chilly and rainy day so I think that worked in our favor. Luckily there is a big awning on the building next door that helped keep us dry. Space/location: there is a parking garage next door and limited street parking on the street outside. The shop is small with about 10 barstool hight seats. If it's busy I wouldn't want to stay and eat. It was pretty congested in there. Ice cream: They have a good amount of options. I LOVED the Whisky sour skittle flavor but it's only available for a limited time. The vanilla bourbon was very tasty as well. We also enjoyed the sangria flavor. We wanted to try the Mexican hot chocolate but they were all out of it. There are a number of ways you can get your ice cream. This first time we just got scoops but definitely want to go back and try a sundae or ice cream sandwich. Other: They have a bunch of ciders and hard seltzers. We bought a few to take homes. I think everything but the flights can be made to go but they didn't have lids for the ice cream cups which wasn't ideal for travel. Accessibility: The entrance is accessible. They only have bar height seating which isn't ideal. The space is small so it may be hard to maneuver in a wheel chair or scooter.

Yelp
It's a hot day and you're in need of something cool to sliver down your throat....I'm talking about ice cream. Tipsy scoop black own business is a place to check out near gallery place. It's small but service is quick. That extra spike in ice scream is a hit or miss but this one got the combination down pack. Price is fair and they accommodate those who are lactose intolerant.

Yelp
Toplines - Service is great, everyone is so friendly. There isn't much seating and the inside is a bit cramped, so be prepared to wait in line and eat your treat on the go. Lots of flavors that all sound delicious, including a selection of vegan sorbets. No one in my party could taste any alcohol in their choices, so don't come prepared to get tipsy. Still a refreshing treat with a lot of unique flavor combos to try.

Yelp
so i didn't get one of their amazing looking flights or sundaes because i can't eat that much but i did have one scoop of the cake batter vodka martini flavor and it was great! not sure i could taste or feel anything "boozy" but it was still yummy!

Yelp
Very new to this concept but I loved it. Wish we had something like this in my city . Of course, you would probably need to eat a whole gallon to feel tipsy for real, but it was still a cool experience. Bonus: The ice cream is also very tasty!

Yelp
This location just opened and there's always a long line but the last time I walked by there was no line so I thought I'd try it. 3 employees and only 3 customers yet service was soooooo slow! That's why there is a line, not actual demand. I got my ice cream then moved over to the register to pay and no one paid any attention to me as I waited a very long time for someone to come over to check me out. They check everyone's ID even if you are grown. I got one scoop of vanilla bourbon ice cream for $7.15 and could not taste the bourbon. I see the other reviews also mention the lack of liquor taste. In one review someone called this Turkey Hill and that is an accurate description. See the ice cream is soft, like slightly melted, I like it that way, but you would assume that is because of the addition of the alcohol yet I tasted none. Not even a strong vanilla flavor, just basic ice cream. Some of the flavors were out of stock. Jeni's on 14th and U is a busy store and never out of stock and they have a lot more flavors.

Yelp
Boozy ice cream!!!! Had someone time to visit my brother at work today and also try out the viral tipsy scoop in dc. It's a very chic ice cream parlour serving boozy ice cream only to people who are 21+ up so sorry kids. My brother allowed me to try many samples until I decided on the raspberry limoncello sorbet. This was the most flavorful and refreshing flavor to me and I'm glad I got It. Apparently they have happy hour where you get two scoops for the price of one. Overall It was a great time and I enjoyed my time there

Yelp
This is some awesomely creamy and tasty ice cream! There was a big line when we came in on a weekend, which we waited in for maybe 30 minutes. The ice cream sundaes were amazing and would totally recommend the Tequila Sunrise one. That was perfectly light and flavorful and couldn't taste the alcohol at all! We also ordered the boozy breakfast which had more classic flavors. If I had to go back, I'd probably get the Tequila Sunrise because the fruity flavor was the best. Prices are a little steep but there is booze in the ice cream so it feels fair.

Yelp
A fun place. The workers were kind and respectful. They made sure to check my id even though I'm well over the age of 21. . Worth checking out and supporting a black woman franchisor!

Yelp
Love this place. It was great. Kids can only have like 2 things but worth it if you're over 21.

Yelp
I love unique places like this. Not sure what the actual alcohol content is but the flavor of each icecream was delicious.

Mujda H.

Yelp
Love that the booze didn't overcompensate the flavor of the alcohol and the staff was very pleasant checking everyone's ID and giving good energy to everyone in the room even though a small rush started coming in. The vibe of the area is really cool you can write ur name on the chalk board and they have such cute and hip vibe.

Yelp
Just go!. The ice cream is simply delicious and the service was amazing. I just wish they had locations in SoCal.

Yelp
Happy to know that the DC location is a Black woman-owned franchise. Got invited to preview Tipsy Scoop's amazing line up of infused ice creams and sorbets. I was thoroughly impressed with the flavors and how good they were. It's also nice that they have alcohol free options. The infused ice creams and sorbets only have 5% alcohol as well.

Yelp
I would recommend this place! I went in on a Friday at the start of happy hour and I was immediately served! Ice creams did not have a strong liquor taste at all.! I had a flight and did feel the liquor a bit after. the only downside about the flight is you cannot take it out of the house, it gets very packed in there and it is pretty small.
