The purpose of this review is not to hate or harm this restaurant in any way, shape, or form. That being said, I hope you take this review as an informative review. Atmosphere: Small place, welcoming, and pretty clean for the most part. Service: Service can vary depending on who takes your order. It goes from acceptable to great. Food: The menu is not so big but has the right number of items. It makes it easier for the customer to make a choice. I only think it would be great if they indicated on certain dishes the level of spiciness. I ordered the Sunshine Burger and the California Burrito. Both tasted pretty good. Although, the burrito wasn't bad, it was spicier than I thought. I think the burrito would be a great choice for the those who love spicy food. Price: Looking at it from my experience and my order, it seems like the prices are a bit high. Talking flavor wise, I think there is room for improvement in order for it to be at the same level of their price bar. Nonetheless, other items on their menu may just do that.

I am on a quest to try a lot of vegan spots nationwide. This restaurant is in the neighborhood so I had to try it. The cheeseburger and the Brussels sprouts were delicious. I am trying to go vegan/ vegetarian as much as a I can. This restaurant is definitely going on my list of go to vegan restaurants. I only issue with them is that they don’t serve French fries well they didn’t when I was there.

Wow, just had the California burrito for the first time and I began by cutting it in half and then just devoured the entire thing. Let me clarify, the burrito is a huge portion, I just literally couldn’t stop myself bc it was too delicious. Their burgers are absolutely phenomenal, too. Everything being scratch made and so thoughtful and flavorful is a great inspiration for someone like myself who is a junk food vegan 99% of the time and eats a lot of packaged food at home. If I lived in the neighborhood I’d be there every day! I also think the prices are totally reasonable when you consider everything is made in house out of real ingredients (for instance, $14 for a massive vegan burrito in NYC is perfectly appropriate).

The name Toad Style was taken from one of the five deadly venoms from that karate flick from back in the day Five Deadly Venoms. It is a vegetarian and vegan place that stays away from the soy! Which is amazing if you are not into to-much of the soy meats. The store it self looks like a Chinese restaurant in my opinion from the outside. On the inside it is kind of tight but full use of the space with contoured laminated booth seats. A few seats on the outside as well. The service is great. Very welcoming to all and very helpful with the ordering process. Food is prepared and served within a few minutes depending on how many orders are coming in. They do have take out and delivery services picking up and delivering. So, the food is just so flavorful and tasty! I enjoyed everything! They also had signs saying they are BYOB! So, plan ahead! I must make Toad Style a regular in my goto eat spots!

I ordered online actually and got the chili and big donut. I LOVED the chili. It could've used a little more salt, but it was still really good. And it came with fresh tortilla chips. This is how I always want to eat chili from now on. I also had the big donut. It was chocolate frosted with chopped peanuts, which was a surprise because there weren't any options to choose from. I'm not allergic to peanuts so it worked out, but it would've been nice to be able to choose a plain donut. And it tasted a little...off. Maybe it's the sweetener used, not sure. I would definitely order the chili again and even a burger .

Great vegan food that feels clean and they’re open late. I LOVE the meatball sub and the breakfast sandwich!!

I loved every time I've been to Toad Style. Before this visit I hadn't been here since before COVID. It was good then and still good now! I ordered the sunshine burger which was an amazing vegan homemade patty burger. The sauce and avocado added to the burger made it even better. We also got the crunchwrap though it was eaten so fast we forgot to take pictures of it. Amazing food and it was nice sitting in the booth to escape the heat though there is outdoor seating available if you'd like.

Literally the best vegan food i've had in ages (easily adaptable to vegan and gluten-free options). The food is extremely tasty, there are many options and the staff is adorable. I highly recommend!!

I was greeted by a cashier named Tyler, who suggested I try their vegan cheeseburger. The patty is a mix of oats and mushrooms, and the "cheese"--which is actually a cashew-based creation with oil--has a subtle flavor. It also comes with a vegan ranch-style dressing. When I tried it, the overall taste was nutty and mushroom-forward. Does it taste like beef? Not really. It's more like a lightly seasoned, spongy mushroom patty with hints of the creamy cashew "cheese" and dressing. The burger is a bit messy and tends to fall apart, so you'll want to eat it over something or wrap it in plastic or parchment. Alternatively, you can order it as a wrap, including a gluten-free option for just $1 more. Honestly, I think the wrap might be the better choice over the burger bun. I also tried the chili, which had a distinct split pea flavor with plenty of beans and a nutty undertone. The potato salad was creamy, made with diced potatoes that were lightly seasoned. It wasn't particularly memorable, but it was fine. Overall, for $13, the meal was decent. I don't approach vegan food expecting it to mimic fast food; I look for quality and originality, and this place offers something that's passable. The vibe is very indie and hipster, with a sense that they put care and spirit into their food. I've walked past this place before--I even visited once with my sister to try the cornbread and chili, which were okay--so I figured I'd stop in again. The location has charm, but the food didn't leave a lasting impression. It's good for what it is, and I appreciate the effort, but nothing really stood out. I've read other reviews saying the quality was better pre-COVID, though I can't speak to that since I never ate here before the pandemic. If that's true, it makes sense. Would I come back? Maybe, but probably not on a budget. For what it is, though, it's worth trying if you're curious.

I'm not sure why this vegan location has star rating of 3.9 when it should be a perfect 5 I say this because from time to time I do make a visit to this location but recently in 2024, I visit Before my birthday and on my birthday and after my birthday. All three experiences were so laid back and relaxing. I've even livestream my experience for social media. The food was and always made fresh and taste very good. Now, I'm homeless too now and I was able to afford my meals. The tomato soup they offer at the time of my visit, was do Balance and not heavy but creamy, flavor hit the brain with a wow. The vegan meatball parm was incredibly so good, I wanted another one for sure. Brussels sprouts are to die for. Cooked well and seasoned with balance. Delicious and well prepared business and I would recommend it. Thank you for the Delicious meals and would be going back soon.

The sandwiches were good and very very fulfilling. The elite tasted good but not $8 good. The service was quick.

Best ceasar salad ive had in a while. I ordered this to-go, so it was freshly dressed and crisp when I ate it. I loved how savory and spicy this salad was, and the pepitas added a nice amount of substance to an otherwise meatless dish. Inside, there are a few seats but it's pretty dark.

Good food! Only thing that left me disappointed was the missing avocado crema on the Jackfruit nachos that usually comes with it since it was really spicy and needed the cooling effect of it.

Toad Style opened when vegan junk food was still considered an oxymoron, at least for the omnivore normies who associated veganism with macro bowls filled with raw veggies. Perhaps some people still have this association, but finding vegan cheezburgers, vegan mac n cheese and vegan quesadillas, all of which you can find on the menu at Toad Style, is not hard in every borough, so while I thank them for being a pioneer of this cuisine in Brooklyn, I won't be returning. One thing I appreciate here is that you can get any one of their many sandwich in two waffles instead of bread. They even provide you with syrup and this blend of sweet and savory went well enough with the tofu scramble I ordered. Uniquely, instead of soy, they make tofu with chickpea flour, much like they do in Burmese cuisine. The texture of this chickpea based scramble did not hold up very well though and had little flavor. On the flip side, both bbq jackfruit and ceasar salad were overly salted, but lacking any depth of flavor. This is a takeout only joint, and I admire the movie paraphernalia and posters along the walls, but that's about all I like about this place.

The previous staff before 2020 were fantastic. The food used to be consistent but things have changed. New cooks and I believe management as well cause the downfall of a once post worthy eatery. Avoid this spot if you can. Not what it used to be.

Ambiance wise: we didn't get a great vibe but soldiered on in, considering we're on a vegetarian diet currently. My wife and I tried their $11 Soup and Salad lunch specials, with tomato soup and Kale and Caesar varieties of salad. Being used to Dig (formerly Dig Inn), I thought it sounded like a square deal until I saw the trays. The salads are surprisingly spartan (small, boxed, refrigerated, mostly leafy greens), and the dressings for our salads came out entirely congealed, rendering them inedible gels. I asked for lemon wedges as an alternative. They didn't have any. I asked for anything else I could use as an oil-free dressing (due to dietary restrictions). No options offered other than reheating my cold-gelled olive oil plastic cup in the microwave. No thanks! I ended up using the last of my soup as an impromptu dressing atop my kale salad. That actually worked out okay. And the soup itself was fine. The service was cold, the ambiance austere, the music was weird. It's safe to say, we would never come back.

This is a nice cozy spot in Brooklyn. The customer service was extremely amazing. There were many menu options. I enjoyed the food so much, I forgot to take pictures. I devoured it. I was definitely satisfied and will be returning very soon.

I got the hot stuff burger and jackfruit nachos. The burger was spicy and had a pretty interesting variety of toppings. The nachos were just ok, and maybe a bit too expensive for the size. This was a good experience overall.

Loved it! Very small but comfortable and had a great neighborhood feel. I had a fabulous Sunshine Burger and would get it again!

I'm not a fan of the wanna-be meat / impossible burger offerings, so I appreciate their patty choice. The burger itself had a nice crisp on the outside and a dense and soft center. Personally I love that, maybe not the texture for everyone though. The cashew dill cheese adds the perfect amount of creaminess. Nearly forgot there was no dairy in this. My only wish for this burger is that the bun was warmer, I would have loved that moist mouthful that a hot bun offers. I do appreciate the ratio of greens, the peppery arugula did a lot for me. All in all, the Sunshine Burger was quite delicious. Didn't feel like shit after eating it. Not greasy. And you can tell it's made with quality ingredients. I'll be keeping this in my back pocket for the nights I'm craving a burger.

Food came with absolutely no utensils & no napkins. Food was a 6/10. Maybe it's better if you don't get it delivered. Waste of $50

Toad Style is an ancient form of martial arts. Superior to crane style and tiger style in ever way. It really hits the spot. I am from NJ and have been here a few times and this ain't like edge of the east river Brooklyn. This is deep in the cut like peroxide ya feel me? The vibe, the food, the staff, and anything that comes in and out of this place is off the chain. And if you don't know what that means, then your vocab is not off the chain. Jackfruit nachos are SLAMMN' if you want to trick your carnivore friends, and the Sunshine + Cowgirl Burger will have your stomach sayin' "YEEHAW MUTHAF*CKAHS!!!". Your carnivore friends won't mind.

Stars for the great housemade burger patty. So nice to have a veggie burger that's not trying to be meat! Sadly I have to agree with the reviews saying that Toad Style has tanked over the past couple years. The menu understandably shrunk amidst the pandemic and never recovered, leaving behind banh mi sandwiches, philly cheese steaks, gyros, deep fried cauliflower, and my favorite fries in the neighborhood. And the fried foods are apparently so sorely missed that they've had to put up a sign saying they're no longer available because people keep asking. Service is usually quick when in-person, though I always call ahead to avoid prolonged time with the cook who ran through the middle of the intersection at Ralph and Putnam who I yelled at for making me slam on the brakes while he sauntered past the "don't walk" signal. Cringey for all involved.

Very small. Food takes a minute Due to several reasons: you should not rush perfection, time can slow when you are starving, as only vegan option in neighborhood this place can get slammed. Bahn mi, BBQ jackfruit with fries Lunch special for $11 Very good. Jack fruit is can be cloyingly sweet, & this was not necessarily an exception but still very good. Will return when I am less hungry and can wait out the preparation time. Hands down the best vegan options in this neighborhood. Staff was friendly and super helpful.

Lesson learned: be open to change. Some time ago, Toadstyle dropped their gluten free bread in favor of tacos, which made me sad. The tacos are ok, but the GF bread was better. Since then, they've started offering GF waffle sandwiches as an option. I dunno... aren't waffles their own breakfast thing? Ok after months of yelling at those waffles to get off my lawn, on some particularly sunny and endorphin filled day, I dared to be different. W O W ! Just look at this vegan burger with Avacado.

I ordered the Cheeseburger, Chili & Chips, Spinach Artichoke Dip & Chips, and Potato Salad. Fast service, the patty was a little tender for my liking, and the spinach & artichoke has that vegan taste, it's not an exact replica of the real thing, but Overall I am impressed by this business. Chili was my fav, then the burger and the rest followed. If you're Vegan! EAT HERE!

Unfortunately Toad Style went downhill so bad I can't support them anymore. 2 stars for years of solid house made vegan junk food. It was good until it wasn't. The pandemic and the expanded delivery range and platforms changed this all. Now you get inedible burnt burrito and can't get them to pick up the phone to correct it.

Wow I'm not sure what happened to Toad Style but it's gone down hill. Many of the signature dishes it was known for have disappeared from the menu. No big deal! That's what happens at restaurants, right? That would be fine if the new options tasted good. The mac and cheese was TERRIBLE! The texture and flavor were way off. My Greek salad was so sad. Wilted lettuce,shriveled tomatoes, and a "dressing" that was just olive oil and pepper. The phone is always off the hook and new employees aren't the warmest. This will be my last time giving Toad Style a try smh

The food wasn't well made, which I should've expected as it seemed teenagers were preparing our meal. We ordered several items but the most memorable were the Mac & Cheese. The noodles were over cooked, mushy and watery. Our salads were mostly stems and no leaves. This was very disappointing as I brought an associate here for a business lunch. We left hungry and unsatisfied.

A good vegan sandwich. Toad style is a fast-casual takeout spot that serves all vegan items. The interior is small and cozy with friendly workers. No indoor seating during covid times, and only a small bench outside. I tried the BBQ jackfruit sandwich. It was flavorful and the bread held up against the fillings. Fresh slaw and tart pickles bumped up the flavor. I would love if they piled on the BBQ jackfruit a bit more since the bread is so plain and there's a good amount of it, or maybe even butter the roll. Overall, a solid spot. I would come back to try the other menu items (Mm, pretzel bun sandwich). Also, a fair deal-- $10 for the sandwich.

Aw man this is so sad to write. Toad Style used to be a haven for vegan junk food. The fries with cashew cheese-- a dream. There are no more fries. The vegan cheeseburger, once delectable, is now a sad interpretation of what it once was. It fell apart in my hands after the first bite. The vegan cheese was extremely sour, the tomatoes were mealy, and the vegan burger itself lacked flavor. The jackfruit nachos were tasty. And luckily have always been tasty. But here I am, the 5th time trying to eat here again, and as usual, without fail, it has given me food poisoning.

What a cool name - so I had to stop by. The two workers I saw were friendly and inviting. The interior is small with high top bench seating for a few people and a waiting area with a bench in the front. I ordered two items, the California burger and the Greek salad. The bun on the burger was soft and fresh, the patty was a unique blend unlike any plant based burger I've ever eaten - EXTRAORDINARY! I wish I lived closer because this burger was phenomenal. The. Avocado and sweet mustardy sauce with a slight kick of spiciness finished off the masterpiece of this burger. The Greek salad was good. It has lettuce, kale, olives, cherry tomatoes, red peppers, and it is topped with a crumble. The crumble on top lacked the acidic bite one gets from feta cheese, and just seemed lacking something, possible a pinch of salt? Overall I am satisfied with my meal and very happy to have taken a chance with this place. The burger alone is worth the trip.

I had been wanting to visit Toad Style for a while, but was never in the area. However, now that I work 15 mins (walking) from here, I can come as often as I like. Yay! The employees are polite and very knowledgeable about the menu. After indecisively reading the menu for 5 minutes, and talking to the cashier I ordered the Sunshine burger. And I also got the cheese fries. Everything is still to-go right now, so you can't sit inside because the few benches they have are covered. And there's also no seating outside the shop, it would be nice if they added some though. When I first opened my box of cheese fries it didn't look too enticing but once I took a bite I was obsessed. They are not greedy with the cheese, literally every fry was covered. Next time I'd like to try the fries plain, because they were cooked perfectly, and I'm sort of a fry fanatic. The Sunshine burger was delicious, but I'm anxious to try the rest of the menu. It's a pretty saucy/creamy burger with a pretzel bun, ( I love a pretzel bun). They give very decent sized portions too so I'm excited to go back.

This hidden gem is going to be one of the things I miss most after spending a week here in Brooklyn. I was genuinely surprised at how flavorful their food was but most impressed by their Buffalo cauliflower wings!!! If you love vegan food, please take the time to order from Toad Style and order their Buffalo Cauliflower wings as well as the Greek salad.

john & the cook/musician from Iowa were both so friendly & accommodating with my allergy, we came in around 5:45 on a Thursday and it was so quiet after the rush! please try the Buffalo cauliflower quesadilla. we'll definitely be back! new favorite spot found

The tofu scramble ($11) here is amazing! I loved the chickpea, and the hollandaise sauce was a little mustard-y, which I thought was great. It's in patty format, and I actually preferred the texture over other tofu scrambles I've had (which are made to look more like scrambled eggs). I wasn't as much of a fan of the mac and cheese ($8); both the taste and texture were a little off to me. COVID NOTE: None of the staff wear masks.

Very cute toad logo/sign. The kung fu theme was interesting, if a bit curious. Also it seemed like they used to have a bunch of good sides but don't anymore (fries, cauliflower, etc.) so it can be hard to get a full meal. I personally prefer beyond meat over black bean burgers but for what it was it was really good!

Unfortunately, toad style seems to be going downhill with their food. When I first started coming here 2 years ago this was a go to place of mine. Now, it's disappointment after disappointment. I usually get a cowgirl with cauliflower bites (they didn't have the cauliflower bites or fries available); so I decided to try there Mac and cheese and a salad - I thought, you can't go wrong with those. I was pretty wrong once I got home. I paid $17 for NOTHING. My boyfriend quoted "that's a sorry ass salad" and he was right. This spot is now overpriced and the quality of food is going down. Was hungry and disappointed immensely- I had to write a review.

I ordered 2 items: cashew cheese fries and cowgirl burger. The cheese fries was almost inedible because the cheese sauce was very salty, like someone dumped a whole table spoon of salt into the sauce. The burger patty in contrast was a little flavorless. I recommend you order something else besides these 2.

When it comes to vegan food one is most concerned about cheese. Oh wait maybe that's just me. The cheese at Toad Style is so freaking mouth watering delicious that you can't believe that it's not cheese. It's some of the best vegan comfort food I've had. There's definitely a pretty price tag and the portions are huge. I would strongly recommend coming with a group of four and sharing some sandwiches and sides. The cheesy fries were perfect. The bahn mi is always a win. And the mushroom cheesesteak fulfills my need for vegan gluttony!!! There's only a couple tables here. It's still in a not so crowded neighborhood but people are definitely making that commute. There's one bathroom and you have to pour yourself some water. And don't forget to order at the register. I especially loved coming here after a work out at the Blink or a bike ride. It's perfect for reloading after working hard. I need to come back for jack fruit. Jack fruit is the all the rage for its faux meatiness that it brings. It's on my to do list. And I'm salivating at the thought of it.

Amazing vegan food. I had their vegan grilled cheese with tomatoes soup and it's phenomenal. The service was quick the ambiance was cute. Amazing vegan place to try out.

Be warned - Caesar Salad is sad. Lettuce, a side of less than amazing dressing and a cup of seeds. Disappointing.

SO GOOD. I am blessed to be a repeat customer here. They have valid prices, quick service, and most of all, scrumptious vegan food. I always go for the Jackfruit pulled pork sandwich and i devour it. Always takeout, as they don't have seating inside. The team is always so nice and they seem cool like most vegans. The only tiny gripe i have is that their menu doesn't include fries. Luckily most delis around have pretty solid fries, or you can get vegan mac and cheese on the side instead. Pull up in Toad Style.

Toad Style is a very small place in Bed Stuy who offers a variety of vegan food made in different ways. It has a good vibe nd decoration, kinda rebel style. I actually thought it was different since I was expecting smth more to the soul food side, more comforty. I got cauliflower wings the first time and the Pulled Pork: The cauliflower itself is a lil bit bland, the crust tho is so good. It really is well fried. It comes with a sauce that honestly is better than the wings itself. Personally it would be better if it had more taste to it. The pulled pork is very sweet-sour like and the acid is cut with the coleslaw. In my opinion it's what's best in the sandwich! (the pickles are damn good.) The best for me were the french fries. The sauce is perfect and the seasoning is awesome. Would recommend to just try it out , but not as a place to go a lot and be faithful to. It lacks more...

VEGAN, GLUTEN FREE REVIEW: I had high hopes for Toad Style. I trekked from the city ... in the rain ... without an umbrella, and was sorely disappointed. I ordered the BBQ Jackfruit as a salad. The BBQ sauce was missing something (maybe more tanginess? or richer flavor?) and the salad was slathered in a creamy ranch-like sauce which I actually did not mind. Usually too much dressing is a turn-off but it was a good flavor booster in this salad. The pickles were an interesting touch but I can't say I loved it with the meal. All in all, this salad did not do it for me. I tried to like it, but I just didn't. I would be interested in trying some other menu items but would hate to be disappointed again. Pluses: there's a bathroom!

The staff was very helpful and patient! It was such a laidback vibe. The buffalo cauliflower was tasty, I would've loved it a bit more spicy. The cheese fries were excellent, very tasty and I'm so happy no faux cheeses out of a bag were involved. The cowboy burger- big pictured was my favorite. We had it cut in half and I'm glad because it was messy and we ate on a park bench because the eat in area is closed! The rainbow cookie is great if sweets are your thing. My kids loved it!

Oh the joys of vegan junk food. I mean you walk in to the soothing sounds of the deep fryer. And some tunes. But, it isn't all fatty. I've grown an appreciation for Toad Style, because unlike most vegan diners or fast food joints, they don't rely heavily on Fake meat! They're actually soy-free, gluten-free and creatively use vegetables as meat replacements. For example, their Philly Cheesesteak is made with portobello mushrooms. What would compare to a pulled pork sandwich uses BBQd pulled jackfruit. There are some patties like the mushroom & lentil used in the cheeseburger. The fried cauliflower is bomb and delicious with the sweet chili mustard they pair it with. I think my palate has grown accustomed to the over-processed soy clan, but I'm more than happy to trade that out for actual vegetables and not mystery fake meat. I'm slowly making my way down the menu and so far fried cauliflower is the winner (among the cheeseburger and Philly cheesesteak). The sandwiches are also available as taco or salad, so that's something else to consider. Will return soon!

What an unexpectedly awesome experience. Toad Style is a hole in the wall with a big punch. Seating is limited and cramped so it might be smart to order take out or dine in small groups. Other than that, the food was excellent. My friends and I ordered the chili cheese fries and the fried cauliflower for starters...both incredible. I couldn't believe how good the honey mustard dipping sauce was that came with the friend cauliflower. Then, I split with my sister, the Banh Mi and the Philly sandwiches. I couldn't tell you which one I loved more because they were both incredible. There was so much flavor in every single bite. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone vegan or not. I can't wait to return and try everything else this menu has to offer.

I gave them a second chance on a whim being that they were the only vegan option still open. The biggest issue with Toad Style is that don't season their food! It is so danggone bland! If you don't use some seasoning then throw in some flavorful produce. I like that they are not based with a bunch of soy and processed ingredients, but man there are better options out there especially for the price. My first order I tried their mock gyro and though the texture was right it didn't have any flavor. I also tried their chili fries... don't do it! They were soggy and guess what also bland. Tonight I had there sunshine burger which was better than what I tried before, but the patty has that sinking mush texture which is made worse by the fact it had no taste. I also had fried pickles, which were not made well as the batter was soggy and not crisp like you'd expect, the worst fried pickles I've had. I'm done and I mean it, with this place.

I never write reviews but I had a great delivery meal from this spot. I'm on a vegan diet and stay away from coconut oil so options are very limited and I tend to mostly cook for myself. it's hard to find a spot with nut based cheese, but the cashew dill cheese I had on my burger was really good. I got the sunshine burger and a slice of raw blueberry cheesecake and everything was delicious and the burger was still hot. All in all a great vegan burger that didn't feel like gross deep fried fast food but still very comforting. I appreciate how much detail they provide about ingredients on their site. I was pretty much tied to the idea that delivery options just aren't there for me but this place proved me wrong!

I like Toad Style. It's a great spot for vegan comfort food with tasty selections and fair prices. My favorites are the fried cauliflower and the jackfruit (pulled pork) sandwich. The animal fries are surprisingly good, the cashew cheese is divine. I recommend dining in. There is a noticeable difference in the quality and portions of the food when you order delivery vs. eating at the restaurant.

When it's good it's GOOD, but the food is really hit or miss depending on who's working/cooking. Looooved TS when they first opened but now it feels like there's minimal quality control. Things often aren't made consistently, either with different ratios of ingredients, leaving out an ingredient or two, or just totally sloppy composition. For the price it's kind of a risk. Sometimes the fried cauliflower is bombbbb, other times they're cut way too big, difficult to eat and way under-fried with goopy batter in the center. Wanted to love their new buffalo cauli but made the mistake of getting delivery, and they came without dipping sauce, soggy and borderline inedible until I rebaked them in the oven the next day. 90% of the food here is way over-salted for me, but the last time it tasted like they forgot salt completely. Also, the super friendly dude who used to always work the counter (I think a co-owner?) has been replaced by staff that seem annoyed at the presence of other people and are way too snarky for even my vibe. Where'd ya go, friendly dude? Miss u.

Toad Style use to be a 7 star rating. Hands down. I had been coming here since 2016-ish. About 2-3 years ago things began to change. First the Bahn Mi with oyster mushrooms (my fav) disappeared. Then the regular and buffalo cauliflower was removed from the menu in due time. Then "gluten free" options began to take over. Eventually no fried food. Phone off the hook for hours. Flavors gone. It's just been sad. I don't bother to even look at the menu anymore. And I know other previous long term loyal customers feel the same way.

This is the only vegan place where I felt like the "cheese" didn't have a strange slimy texture!!! I had the BBQ jackfruit which I loved. The BBQ sauce is delicious and the pickles do not overpower the sandwich. I did think the bun was a little thicker than I would have wanted! All in all I would have this again, it was such a big serving that I couldn't finish the whole thing. My fiancé had the gyro. She said it was spectacular but definitely good. I tried it and it was a little spicy and sour. It was good but not better than the jackfruit. The star of the show were the animal fries! THEY WERE TO DIE FOR! I forgot I had a sandwich in front of me because of the fries. They had tons of flavor and were cooked really nice. The sauce used was a bit sweet and went perfectly with the "cheese" and onions! These were a must have !
