Tony D's New York Pizza & Restaurant

I had heard Tony D’s was the closest to a NYC style pizza in Jacksonville, so as a NYC native, it was a must try. My son and I were really excited to try this place and we both agree that this spot is a 10/10. EVERYTHING was delicious! Not only that, but the atmosphere of the dining area was comfortable and aesthetically pleasing, especially the photos of NYC. The servers were also super nice and had such pleasant vibes! My favorite part of the meal was the BBQ wings. It’s one of my favorite foods and this place cooked and tossed their wings to perfection. The garlic knots were complimentary to the table and they have to be some of the best garlic knots I’ve ever had! As far as the pizza, it was DELICIOUS, but not an exact match to the NYC flavor. It was close, but some element was missing. Nonetheless, I have zero complaints about the place, the food, or the service. We will absolutely return!

Pizza was fine. Garlic knots were somehow dry yet not fully cooked. The chicken parm pizza was so heavily topped it was hard and messy to eat. The chicken on this pizza and the buffalo chicken pizza is just popcorn chicken pieces and not chunks of just chicken. Comparable to a frozen grocery store pizza. Bit over priced for the quality.

Without question, the best pizzeria in Jacksonville, FL. I have eaten at just about every 'known' pizza place here. Without naming names, I've been to ones all over every side of town--Westside, Southside, Beaches, Ponte Vedra, Orange Park, St. Augustine, etc. This beats them all. As far as NY-style, I'm not a native New Yorker, but I've visited multiple times and tried several pizzeries there. I've eaten pizza all over the country and even in Naples (a completely different style, of course). This is the best. My wife and I have eaten here on a semi-weekly basis for several years and have never had a bad pizza. The food is simply that damn good. The salads, the meatballs, and my wife says the wings are excellent, as well. The service is usually outstanding also. Depending on when you go there are different servers, but the guys are all just great. On the ball, constantly checking on you to make sure you're good on refills or anything else you need. A couple of reviews I see below that gave them bad stars are beyond me. The restaurant does close for an hour to switch from lunch to dinner service, but if you are already eating there, they don't kick you out, and they still take to-go orders, so it isn't an issue. Anyone who believes the food is frozen pizza quality is very much mistaken. Bottom line: if you want NY-style pizza in Jacksonville, eat here. There is no better place in town.

Got a medium pepperoni to go and it was extremely good!! Definitely among the best pizza in town if you ask me. Dough was great, next time I might ask for it a little crispy 🤌🤌

I am a bit upset… Friday night after moving for 6.5 hours into my new house all we wanted was Tony’s pizza. We have ordered from there once before and loved it (especially being from NJ). I was so upset because we specifically ordered a Sicilian pizza with vodka sauce and basil. Yet we received a regular Sicilian with meat inside!!! I am allergic to red meat so this was extremely risky as I had no idea whet kind of meat was inside the pizza. When I tried contacting the delivery driver, they did not answer. The pizzeria was already closed and therefore I was not able to either exchange or call about my pizza. I believe you should always have someone inside the restaurant to answer the phone until ALL deliveries are completed. It was a waste of $50 since I couldn’t eat the pizza since I did not want to risk an allergic reaction. If you are seeing this please call me if you can because the pizza is super good based on the first delivery we had but after Friday night I do have a sour taste in my mouth…. We've wanted to stop here for quite some time and decided to take the family Friday night. The complimentary garlic knots were a hit. We ordered calamari and our kids savaged through it in record time. The kids got cheese pizza and loved it. We got an everything style pizza and the crust, ingredients, sauce - everything was great! Staff was friendly, helpful and awesome. We may have found our routine spot to take the kids.

Absolutely delicious! I can’t wait to come back! Perfect amount of cheese. The sauce was very tasty, and the crust was New York style thin and tasty. 😋

Nice menu with pizza being the star. We got a plain and a BBQ chicken pizza and had them cooked crispy. Very good! Nice balance on the plain pie. BBQ chicken would benefit from grilled chicken over fried popcorn chicken (in my opinion). We added red onions.

This is our GoTo place for pizza! Dine in or take out When our friends come to visit, it is one of their first places to ask us to go! Often mentioned in prep calls of how they can't wait to get Tony D's.

Great pizza whether you eat in or take out. The closest we have gotten to NYC style in JAX. Have tried a number of dishes and was not disappointed. Servers are attentive. Casual decor and always busy. The giant black and white cookies flown in from metro NY are alone worth the trip.

We really like Tony D's and have tried a variety of items like NY special, meat lover, taco pizza, and various pasta dishes. The food is really good and staff very friendly. While their New York style pizza is great, husband's favorite are their pan pizza (Grandma and Sicilian). I really like their wings (Cajun ranch and garlic parm). They are always good sized and perfectly cooked. Tony D's has become one of our go-to places when craving pizza & wings.

Absolutely the best New York style pizza in Jacksonville!! I live at the Beach and hate driving " over the bridge ", but this is pizza worth the trip. Someone tell Tony to please open a store at the Beach!! I know the perfect location and would gladly help manage it!! I have 35 years in the restaurant business and am retired but I'll unretire to help out!!!

We have been here a few times and it it always consistently delicious. We came in today for lunch around 11:45. There were just 3 tables seated but by the time we left it was getting busy. We were greeted and seated right away. We ordered the Garlic Knots as an appetizer. They were fresh out of the oven and piping hot. My only complaint was I needed more garlic! We ordered a 16inch half pepperoni and half ground beef. It was perfectly cooked. Had a firm crunchy bottom amd crust. The cheese and sauce were also very tasty. The servers were very attentive. The inside has plenty of space, tables and boots. If your in the area check out Tony D's!

We came here on Saturday night and really enjoyed ourselves here. The service is so great here ... each time we are here the servers are so nice and attentive! I love the food here. It must be the best pizza in Jacksonville. We look forward to coming back and bringing our out of town guests to enjoy this fantastic place.

I met up with a friend for dinner Friday. This was my first time trying Tony D's, and boy was I impressed! First thing I noticed was how crowded it was, which is always a good sign! For starters, garlic nots and marinara come complimentary. When the server delivered them to the table, I had to ask if they came with the meal because I did not order them. She smiled and said yes. My friend split her Greek salad with me, which was delicious! I ordered the Italian sandwich, which was on special for $12.95, and included a drink and chips. This was one of the best Italians I've ever tasted! And I loved the balsamic dressing. The sandwich had cheese, red onions, lettuce and tomato. I also had a Stella draft for $6, and my friend had a glass of cabernet for $6.50. Pretty good drink prices! Our server was so busy, but that didn't impact our service;) She was friendly and checked on us regularly. My friends ordered pasta dishes, which I sampled and loved. If you haven't tried Tony D's yet, I highly recommend you stop by soon!

We ordered Pizza to go via their website. Their site was very easy to use, and the ready time was crazy ACCURATE... who does that? Tony D's does! The only downside is the parking lot is kinda crazy, and there were tons of to go orders walking in & out, so be prepared. The pizza was DELICIOUS... perfectly cooked and not at all greasy. How? lol Thank you so much, Tony D's for the great dinner! We loved it!

We came over here to eat at the Timwah Chinese restaurant but it's always so busy with limited seating so we decided to try Tony D's for the first time. It's very deceiving on the outside of the building. All the windows are blacked out but it is well presented inside with a see through window of pizza you can buy by the slice. You wait to be seated. The restaurant is very clean and modern. Seating, flooring , literally everything is up to date. Since it was lunch time we decided to try a slice of the pizza. My wife saw the thick slice of Sicilian style pizza in the window so she tried that and stuck with the original pepperoni with each of us getting a house salad and a Caesar salad. The salads were made fresh with no complaints, but the highlight was the pizza. The crust on both slices were slightly crunchy and the cheese was melted to perfection. I can say we will definitely be back to try some other dishes on the menu. We will definitely be back!

I really enjoyed the alfredo shrimp; The sauce was very creamy and very garlicy just how I like it! The salad was nice a fresh and comes complementary with all of the pasta dishes! The garlic knots were a little dry and could've used a lot more butter and a little less time in the oven in my opinion. I probably wouldn't order a meal with marinara sauce here, because I definitely thought it could use more spices and herbs. (I am very picky about my marinara, so that's probably just personal lol.) The service here was wonderful and very quick; all of the staff were helpful and friendly!

This afternoon I was waiting to get seated. They were not busy , I was told to wait to get seated, I guess they did not care probably coz I was brown :-) . It's ok I will never go there ever again. Good luck to these type of people. God bless them.

If I had to describe Tony D's in one word it would be, incredible. The best pizza I've ever had. It melts in your mouth and the toppings are premium quality. I will definitely be back for more.

Food was pretty good! The 3 with me had pizza and they really liked it. I had spinach ravioli and also enjoyed it. Complimentary garlic knots-OKAY!!!!!! That's a plus for us. Limoncello cake for dessert was honestly the best I've had. We'll be back for sure

3.5 Tried takeout based on a recommendation. Apparently they have a lot of customers as it was packed and took a while to get through. Purchased 3 pizzas and a large house salad. 1- Half Black Olive/Half Pepperoni 1- Eggplant Parm Pizza 1- Chicken Parm Pizza Salad- Basic, dressings are not homemade- typical bottled flavor. Pizzas- Ok. I had high expectations- crust was somewhat soggy, although maybe that's because we had more 'meal type' types? Definitely not NY style as expected. Also, the he eggplant was super small diced chunks as was the chicken. I prefer large slices of eggplant or at least a decent size. It was hard to get the flavor out with it so minced. I wound up eating the toppings off the crust. Good: Variety, Pretty quick turnaround (35 minutes). I may try again if nearby, but won't go out of my way again for the 10 minute drive.

I love this spot! I came down to FL for The Players Championship, and this was one of my favorite places we are for sure. It felt amicable and authentic. It was swamped, but the service was excellent. A smaller place, but they seem to be able to turn a quality product fairly quickly. And the food was delicious. Huge menus, and I wanted to try everything! I will be back next year for sure.

I called my favorite pizza place today only to find they their driver quit. So they said they started using a company called Chownow. My understanding is they charge ZERO fees to the Restaurant and only a $3.99 deliver fee and tip is optional (PLEASE TIP AT LEAST 10% if not 15%). This service by far is ideal! Thank you Tony D's for doing this!

This pizza place is the best pizza I've ever seen this is so good I love the pepperoni pizza and the side are so good and the service is great because the food is always hot

1st time here at Tony D's for an early dinner and didn't wait at all to be seated and ordered the following items on the menu right way: Angry Orchard Cider $5.25 Knots for Table Bread (It's Free) 10"' Personal Size Meat Lovers Pizza $12.75 Baked Ziti with Meat and Ranch Sauce $16.00 Everything was so delicious and even took slices to go! Thank you Cassandra and the rest of the staff for the service as it was a great experience on where to dine New York Style Pizza and more :)

I was craving foldable pizza and Tony D's delivered. Everything was hot and fresh! The wait staff was very attentive even though it was quite busy for a Sunday afternoon. It's a place I would definitely go again to try some of their Italian entrees.

FINALLY had a perfect opportunity to pick up some Tony D's and it didn't disappoint. Excellent flavor and just so well executed. We ordered a large pepperoni and a grandma. Both were great but my one critique is the grandma was not as thick as I've had at other places around town. Regardless, everyone was raving about how good the pizza was and they can certainly add another 5 fans to their list of fans. Worth the drive from anywhere in town but still wish we could only get one closer to the home. Sooooo goooood!!!

Only ate there once but usually order takeout instead, staff is friendly, pizza is good zeppoles are very good too, stuffed mushrooms and fried mozzarella sticks are ehh,,, def need to get a new recipe for the fried calamari's , not good at all!, just wish they stayed open longer. Being from up north I'm not used to Jacksonville restaurant hours closing at 8-9pm esp weekends.

I took my uncle here last night because we love their calzone and eggplant Parmesan. Our server, Cameron, who is the one we typically have continues to have outstanding customer center skills. He remembers who we are, and more importantly, he remembers how I like my calzone. He ensures it's cooked to true perfection, and that type of customer service you cannot get just anywhere. This family owned business. Truly put the needs of the customer first and the food is always. Yes I will say it again. Always fresh tasteful and hot. My photos are not the best because I kept forgetting to take picture before we started eating! Everything was delicious, especially the mozzarella sticks and pizza. This place is always a favorite for myself and my kids

I haven't tried much of the menu because I struck gold on one of my first orders and haven't felt the need to deviate from the delicious. Two words: grandma pizza. It's just so, so good. The crust is thicker and chewy, the sauce is mild but well-seasoned, and the cheese is a flashback to childhood meals at home. It's a big pricey, sure, but a couple slices will fill you up. I'm sure the rest of their menu is probably good, but they could just sell these grandma pizzas, and I'd still be happy.

One of the best pizzas I had in Jacksonville via NY 22 years ago! Great crust ; could hold up without sinking; nice light sauce; Had a Margarita; one of the best I ever had. Service was great, nice spacious restaurant, plenty of parking, for the quality you get price was fair. Will be back!

Best pizza in Jacksonville!! I'm from New Jersey and know New York style pizza for sure. This is the closest you'll get without going to New York!! Tony D's does not disappoint!

Bae-bay.... When I tell you this pizza is The Bomb, I need you to believe me! If you're looking for a taste of New York pizza in the Jacksonville area, Tony D's is where you'll find it! Typically when initially checking out establishments, I order something simple to make they're legit. But this time, we went all in & ordered the New York Special Pizza. We were pleased with the thin, crispy, foldable crust which sturdily held up under the plentiful toppings & robust sauce. We were well satisfied & will definitely return to Tony D's when we want fantastic pizza again!

Best pizza in Jax, best pizza I've ever had. My husband and I are there on weekly basis (multiple times a week).

I and My Wife decided tp go here for an early dinner today. We decided to have the fried calamari as an appetizer. The fried calamari were very good and hot and the side sauce was hot and frash. The sauce was very good as well. My Wife decided to have a Calzone. This Calzone seeves two individuals. She said that it was very good and hot as well. She managed to eat half of it. I decided to have a Chicken Cutlet sandwich. When I received My sandwich it was a little cold. Not sure why it was brought to Me a little cold. The flavors of the sandwich were very good, but I prefer a warmer sandwich. We will return here soon.

We had to try Tony D's after several friend recommended it to us. It seems like a family run business with very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Garlic knots were complimentary and pretty good. Just not as soft and doughy as I'd like but that's ok. The house made marinara was really good. I had the CHICKEN CHRISTOFORO which was amazing. I normally go for the eggplant parmigiana at places like this but I need to add a little more protein to my diet. This dish I basically layers of breaded eggplant and chicken parmigiana with a generous layer of mozzarella. It. Was. Everything. An employee commented that it was the best dish in the restaurant. I'd have to get it again! The pasta and pink cream sauce were also delicious. My husband had the NEW YORK SPECIAL STROMBOLI. He said it was excellent. Not pictured - my kids got the kids ravioli dish. It was delicious and plenty. All the dishes were in generous proportions, fresh, and indulgent. I hope to try the pizza sometime soon!

Having experienced Italian restaurants across the nation. Lived in NYC and two years in Rome? I can safely say this restaurant deserves five stars. Staff is excellent. Prices reasonable. But the cuisine is outstanding ID go as far as saying the best pizza in NE Florida. Aldo the salad serving was large and tasty. I had chicken parmigiana. This is a dish that tells me this restaurant knows what they are doing. It was large portion with linguine pasta it was prepared exactly as it should be. Excellent. I'll be back often. Thank you

If you are wondering about how it's even possible to come close to NY pizza...THIS PLACE IS IT!!! From the minute you walk in, you are enveloped with the smell of a small pizza shop on Marcy Ave. by the train. It not only had the essence of NY pizza, it TASTED like NY PIZZA!! Don't second guess. Give it a go! You won't regret it.

How do we vote for an extra star? How can a business become better than I've already experienced. The kindest server sat down and excitedly went over different options for my meal and chatted with me about my holiday experience. It made my outing very meaningful... (how could it not be, they serve the best pizza!) The atmosphere is quiet but not boring. I simply love coming here to relax and see friendly smiles and eat pizza... (I think they have other really delicious things on the menu, but there's pizza, so.......

We have been here several times but have never reviewed . First let me say the service is excellent! The hostess was friendly and the server was efficient and professional ! We shared a meat lovers pizza and it was delicious! Crust was crispy and toppings plentiful. The garlic knots were not as fresh tasting and soft as normal but that was the only drawback! Maybe they knew I was trying to limit carbs! Highly recommend !

So we just came back from a second trip to NY this year and my Little has voted the pizza at Tony D s better than the latest spot we tried which won't be named here. Wink. It's popular in NY and not far from Grand street. For me I appreciate the service, cleanliness, ambience of sitting and enjoying quality well presented food that takes me to my childhood in Long Island. If you know you know. Greek salad - cheese slice- grandma pie and zeppoles were on our menu today. Yummy Saturday. Thanks Kennedy for your kind and friendly service as well.

Tony D's Pizza is amazing. While we have not tried their entrees, we have tried their regular and grandma pizza. Excellent!! We also tried the mozzarella sticks and the rice balls. Delicious! We moved here from up North and these guys know how to make pizza. We used to go to PizzaTime in St Augustine which is also very good but Tony'D's became our fav. Highly recommend. Worth the 25 minute drive that's for sure.

Stopped in here for a family dinner the other night. The business has a nice family friendly vibe with booths and tables. You walk in and are greeted by a pizza display case and a cash register for carry out orders. My entire family of 5 was able to sit at a booth in the dining room and still have room. Bathrooms were well serviced and clean. Our server (Cass) was pleasant and attentive. The staff also works together to make sure you receive good service and are attended to. We ordered two 16 inch pizzas (one cheese and one pepperoni and sausage) with 12 wings and as a bonus they give you a free serving of 12 garlic knots. All food was well prepared. The pizza was cheesy and hot. The buffalo flavored wings came out really hot (steam still coming off of them) and not overly spicy (my kids were able to tolerate them). Wings also come with a choice of ranch or bleu cheese dressing. They serve Coca Cola products for drinks. We had a lot of pizza left over, so next time I might see if one 18 inch can feed the five of us. No complaints. Recommend giving it a try for carry out or dine in.

This is NY yellow/orange greasy pizza. Very authentic. It's not my style, but it's very NY. If this is what you seek, try it. Owner's wife is mgr and charming (he is typical NY - don't say 'hi').

It's always hot, thin crust and cheesy, just what a growing boy needs. Service was great and pleasant.

I haven't been here in many yrs because it's a bit out of the way for me but was near the area and everyone was hungry so we stopped in. Staff was great and the restaurant was packed. We had about a 5 to 10 min wait. We got seated and ordered our drinks and got some complimentary bread knots. We ordered the New York special and my boyfriend's daughter ordered the BBQ chicken pizza. Everyone was very pleased with the taste and service. Definitely will be making the drive to come back and try other pizzas.

WOW! How have we missed eating here previously? Food was fabulous and good prices. Can't wait to come back and try something different. Mazzie was our server. She was polite from the moment she greeted us at the door. She was quick and attentive without ever feeling like she was hovering or rushing us. Our glasses were never empty. She was awesome and we'd come back just for her.

I had to do a review for Tony D's. Pizza is so good matter fact, some of the best I've had and I've been all over the country. Keep up the good work.

A coworker recommended we have a team pizza party on Friday Ana chose Tony D's as the pizza place. I'd heard about this place from the foodie groups on Facebook so it must be pretty legit. After some constructive decision-making we agreed on the Margherita pizza (fresh mozzarella, olive oil, fresh basil, marinara sauce) and Meat Lover pizza (pepperoni, ground beef, sausage, ham, meatball, bacon) The guys wanted the meats while the gals wanted something lighter like a Veggie Lover, but we compromised. The pizza was hot and smelled amazing and I got one of each. Of the two, I definitely enjoyed the Margherita as the cheese was so fresh and melty. They also cut it into big-as-your-head size slices so each one was more than enough. They're definitely on my "pizza places" list now.

I just love the food from here. You can buy a slice of pie or a whole pie. Lots of varieties to choose from. Calzones are delicious
