Toscano Ristorante Italiano - Review - Atlantic Station - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"It’s not unusual to see couples with bouquets in hand out for a romantic dinner at Toscano in Atlantic Station. Bless their hearts, we can only hope their relationships aren’t as bland as the food. The best option is their Neapolitan pepperoni pizza with a nice crust—crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. But the real move is to play the long game. While the pasta is mediocre, it comes in a bowl the size of potholes on Peachtree and filled to the brim with about five pounds of pasta. Box it up, and then smother it with salt, pepper, and whatever spices you have on hand at home. Voilà, you have two to three servings for less money than one of those subscription meal kits." - Juli Horsford

Atlanta Restaurants: Old School Italian Restaurant Toscano Ristorante Italiano Is Open at Atlantic Station in Midtown | Eater Atlanta

"Set on 19th Street at Atlantic Station, this Tuscan-style bistro from the team behind Cibo e Beve in Sandy Springs—owned by Gianni Betti, Linda Harrell and Gonzalo Di Aristegui—aims to bring the vibe of Tuscany paired with old school Italian classics, cocktails, and mostly Italian wines. Open for lunch and dinner daily (11 a.m. to 10 p.m.) with weekday happy hour (2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.), Sunday brunch (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and patio seating, the menu features classic Italian dishes like bucatini carbonara, penne alla vodka and taglierini bolegnese, larger entrees such as chicken marsala and veal picatta, a selection of pizzas, plus grilled swordfish, eggplant parmigiana, soups, sandwiches and salads; the bar offers Italian-inspired cocktails including the negroni and Aperol spritz and mostly Italian wines by the bottle and glass. I also note it’s accessible via a free shuttle from the Arts Center MARTA station or MARTA bus 37, which stop at Atlantic Station." - Beth McKibben

The food here was absolutely amazing. You can definitely tell that everything is made from scratch. I went with several colleagues who ordered fried calamari, garlic bread, and chicken Alfredo. They both let me try their orders; and it was to die for. I ordered fried cheese tortellini and tiramisu. Both were better than anything else I’ve ever had at any Italian eatery. The service was nothing short of excellent. Our waitress checked on us often and returned quickly when we asked for something. She was friendly and had a smile on her face the entire time. The restaurant was quaint and quiet overall. Great place to come for a nice dinner with friends or for a date night. Highly recommend giving them a try!

The truffle fries are the best thing on the menu. I got the veggie pizza and the broccoli was a little wet for me- I personally would have browned/charred it before putting on the pizza- but it was still yummy! The tiramisu was awesome! And the water is good haha. We were going to get drinks but our server said they were like 8oz, very small for $15- not worth it. I would eat here again.

The space is really cute and has a great vibe, but the food and service don’t quite match the atmosphere. The dishes were just okay and felt a bit underwhelming for the price, and the service was slower and less attentive than I expected. With such a charming setting, I was hoping for a more polished overall experience.

Me and my boyfriend decided to come here for my birthday dinner. I love Italian food, especially pasta, so I had high hopes. We walk inside and the atmosphere is more sports bar than anything. We get sat and we waited 10 minutes before our server got our order. Another 30 minutes go by and I see our food sitting under the heat lamps in the window. I also see, at the same time our server, sitting down eating food talking to another server. We wait another 10+ minutes before our server finally brings our food. I had originally ordered the spiced shrimp penne. I recieved the chicken, and it tasted undercooked. My boyfriend ordered the frutti de mare and the spaghetti was sitting in a bowl of "white wine", it looked like water. It also smelled horrible and the pasta was over cooked. We managed to get my food taken off because I couldn't eat any of mine and we left. Never coming here again.

The portion sizes were generous, and the food was decent overall. Unfortunately, our experience was affected by the service. Our waiter made us feel more like an inconvenience than guests, which was disappointing. It takes quite a bit for me to leave unsatisfied, but this experience missed the mark. I’m usually a very generous tipper, and in this case the included gratuity was probably for the best. On a positive note, the food runner was excellent—attentive and friendly—and had he been our server, the experience might have turned out very differently. The restaurant itself has a nice balance of casual and elegant, and the atmosphere was enjoyable. However, the wobbly tables were a bit distracting during dinner and conversation. With some attention to staff training, I’d be open to giving the place another try.

Honestly, I would not go here again. The food wasn’t good and the service was terrible. They had one server running across the restaurant while the others just sat around doing nothing. I truly don’t understand how this place is even open.

We had a little glitch in our order but Xavier handled it beautifully. We loved the food, the service was great, the house red was delicious, and the decor is relaxing and the background music was sublime!

Little Italy in Atlanta. The food, the ambiance, and the staff are all great! Gabriel is a very nice server and served me excellently. I don't need to say much about the pizza, just check it out :) yummy!!!!! One small remark: please play Italian music. Otherwise, everything's fine, thank you very much. 🙌
