The Best Late-Night Food in New York City

"Hours: From 11:30 a.m. until 4 a.m. Monday through Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday through Saturday This late-night spot features hangover soup on the menu, so you can inoculate yourself against a headache-y aftermath by ordering the soup and eating it while you’re drinking the soju, sake, or boutique Korean beer provided. There are lots of homestyle comfort foods on the menu, too, including giant bowls of noodle soup, organ meat buffets, and tteokbokki." - Luke Fortney, Robert Sietsema

The 38 Essential Restaurants in New York City

"With branches in Palisades Park, New Jersey; and Annandale, Virginia, Tosokchon affects a rustic demeanor, done up like a house in the country. The food is often homestyle, with no fireworks intended, just good eating at reasonable prices. Soups are the heart of the menu, including one hangover soup that bobs with bracken and organ meats. And there are dumplings and noodles galore, as well as barbecued ribeye in the Los Angeles Korean style." - Eater Staff

Inside this place is quite spacious and nice. Service was good, but the food was super yummy. I will definitely come back again. They had so much to choose, from the menu! Ordered the Rose Tteokbokki and it had the softest texture when you bite into it, the sauce was just right. Not spicy for me at all but you can still taste a hinge of it. I definitely recommend it! My friend got a bulgogi rice and it had the perfect amount of seasoning.

Disappointing first visit. Food was slow. Gopchang was over cooked. Missed cold noodles. And overall mediocre. Came here on a Saturday for lunch. Had good expectations. The gopchang looked good on Instagram and RedNote. The restaurant was spacious. Portions were excellent to share The radish kimchi, cabbage kimchi, and the pickled opinions were generous and delicious! Great banchan to start. We ordered the gopchang entree and cold noodles. And we waited. And waited. And waited. The restaurant was not packed. And we waited some more. Maybe 15 minutes has gone by. We already finished the banchan and it was refilled. And we waited some more. But the gopchang was NOT worth the wait. It was overcooked and dry. All the fat has been cooked out of it. Another reviewer mentioned the exact same issue. The amount of gopchang was satisfactory. The rice cake was crispy. And the chives and onion kimchi looked delicious. But the gopchang was definitely overcooked by the time it got to the table. Very disappointed here. Still waiting for the cold noodles. We ordered the tuna rice ball. This was quite savory and good to share. This came out quickly. Still waiting for the cold noodles. Then we ordered the pork intestine soup dweji gukbab. Came with rice. Which was really excellent and hearty. Lots of pork slices and pork stomach. This was a really good dish. It was excellent to share. Very glad we ordered this. The pork stomach was tender and heart. Didn't finish the gopchang. (We took the left overs home instead and decided to steam it to add the moisture back.) The gopchang had great flavor and excellent portions but it was over cooked. I think there is a good dish here. Just poor execution today. The cold noodles never came. Service was okay. The water jug was never refilled either. There were only two ladies there. i didn't see a lot take out orders. There were quite a few empty tables. I'd say it was 2/3 full with big most big tables with 4 ppl. And they were already there when we arrived. So it wasn't like more people were coming in around the time, which was like 3pm-ish. Overall I was very disappointed. The gopchang had potential but was poorly cooked. The rice ball and pork soup were really good. We never got the cold noodles.

Google
@tosokchon_nyc doesn’t take reservations, but we walked in for an early lunch (before 12pm) on Sunday and there were many seats available. Been wanting to visit for a while, and I was very happy with their food! We ordered dishes that we don’t often see in other places, and they were delicious. The portion was pretty big, too. Left satisfied and full.

Google
This is my friends and I's FAVORITE late-night spot. Regardless of whenever you go, the restaurant is almost always packed—even if it's 5am on a weekend. The interior is spacious with lots of tables and seating, TVs playing videos, and good music. Service is pretty solid and quick here. I've been able to try a lot of different things on their menu and have thoroughly enjoyed everything that I've tried (as you can see through my photos). One of my friend's and I's go-tos, however, is their bossam, which is SO good. We make wraps with their napa cabbage, kimchi, and doenjang and it always hits the spot. Food is a bit on the sweeter side (especially their kimchi) but still good. Overall, love this spot and I have been to it countless of times.

Google
we ended up at tosokchon on our first sunday service in the area, which was a perfect option given the cold winter weather. i can never say no to a bowl of sujebi when i see it on the menu. for $19, you get a huge portion that’s honestly big enough for two. the firmness of each noodle was perfect, and the soup was quite flavorful because of the clams. my only complaints are that the clams do have a lot of sand / grit (also be careful of the broken shells) and that, because the bowl is so big, the soup got cold fairly quickly. the menu is quite extensive, so I would definitely consider returning for some of their other soup options!

I had the chicken bulgogi and Gyoza. Overall was pretty good but nothing to rave about. I loved how they give you the side dishes like kimchi included!

Dustin Irwin

Google
Really wasn’t a good meal. My kimchi pancake was quite doughy and raw. And the bulgogi was more like large chunks of chewy meat. We agreed we’d wouldn’t ever return. The service was quick and nice. It’s a nice place, but it plays awful music loudly.

Yelp
Jotting down city food with my beautiful girl episode 1: food was good, service was good and fast, shit slaps. Went here afterwork. Score: 4.5638/5

Yelp
We came here after not being full at a nearby skewer restaurant and were lucky enough to be immediately seated even though the restaurant was busy. It's typical late night eats atmosphere - lots of tables ordering spicy heavy food to go along the high quantity of alcohol they were consuming. We didn't order much: * Jokbal - 9/10: very tender and flavorful meat with all of the parts of the pig trotters; to me was cooked perfectly * Mul Naengmyun - 7/10: not a huge fan of cold noodles, but this was refreshing on a somewhat hot summer night Definitely want to come back next time to get the full experience of alcohol and other dishes!

Yelp
This one kind of blew my mind! I was expecting average Korean food but I left the meal full and very satisfied! We got the perilla kalguksu, chicken stew and the rose dukbokki. The dukbokki did remind me of something a college student would make as it mainly tasted like hot dog. The chicken potato stew was a great combo. The perilla kalguksu was a large bowl of fresh cut noodles topped with scallion, seaweed and clams. Fast service, and once we finished, they immediately flipped the table to serve the waiting list. Considering the flavor and price, would recommend even over some of the more known places in Ktown!
google avatar

Yelp
We had a great meal here. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The vibes were super welcoming and the menu was everything I was in the mood for. We ended up ordering the spicy Jokbal and some mul naengmyun to share, and they both hit the spot. The jokbal was saucy and garlicky and tender and the naengmyun was anything but bland. Will definitely return.

Yelp
Tosokchon NYC is a gem! The vibrant purple light outside immediately catches your eye, setting the tone for the lively atmosphere inside. The energy is contagious, with K-pop playing on all the TVs, creating a fun and dynamic vibe. Service is fast, with waitstaff always eager to help and quick to act. The food is fantastic--both the kkakdugi and kimchi are perfectly balanced and flavorful. Whether you're dining in or getting delivery, the quality is always top-notch. If you're looking for great food or simply want to enjoy K-pop while dining, Tosokchon hits the mark. Definitely worth a visit (or an order)!

Yelp
Underrated place in Ktown! I absolutely loved everything we ordered. The dweji gukbap was a very tasty soup, and it had a good quantity of meat. It hit the spot, and I feel like it would be such a good soup to drink on a cold day. Tteokmansoon was good as well, I loved the variety and felt like it was a nice dish to share (it's a huge portion!). I liked the soondae especially. The service was very fast, and we got a seat right away even on a Friday evening. The atmosphere feels very lively on the weekend, and many people have a drink or two as well.

Yelp
Tosokchon was one of the places I had saved on google maps after I saw it on tiktok or reels. Finally got to try it and I thought it was pretty good! The portion size was amazing for the price and it came with two types of kimchi + rice. My friend said she was a bit disappointed by the pork in hers but mine seemed better? Maybe the consistency of the meat could be worked on. The only issues I had with my soup was that the soondae itself was kind of bland and just soggy (understandably since it's in a soup). But I've had better textured soondae in soondae soup before. Also, I wanted more 들깨 (not sure what this is in english) flavor in my soup.. However, service and atmosphere were nice! Had fun kpop music playing with a screen playing the music videos for the music which was fun to watch and talk about.

Yelp
Service was really kind! With so many upscale fusion K-Town spots lately, I think this is one of few locations in the vicinity that offer such a variety of traditional Korean soups and noodles. I truly had trouble picking but I got the Dogani Tang ($20), ox knee soup, similar to ox bone soup, where the broth was very light and slightly milky. The mildness made it fitting to pair with their 2 side dishes, which were unfortunately not the best to me. I was craving jokbal, and I love that they offer smaller size options here! We shared their Small Jokbal ($20) and it was so flavorful. There was a rich aroma to it that tastes even better with their provided jalapenos and garlic cloves. There will probably be hit or misses with their menu, but I would go again the next time I prefer popular Korean food in the area!

Yelp
This is a solid no frills Korean restaurant for soups. I have been craving Korean soups and I had a friend tell me about this place. This place is a 4/5 because what they serve is good. However, I left almost wanting something a bit more. I'm not sure if it was the flavor or some other factor, but I wasn't 100% satisfied. You won't finish hungry though. My friend and I had plenty of leftovers even though both of us were starving at the beginning of our meal. I would still come back here if I wanted my fix, but I can't recommend that it will blow your mind.

Bahar K.

Yelp
This place was really cute and the service was fast. It was in a good location in 33rd street. However, I'm not sure if I'd come here again. There wasn't much on the menu that stuck out to me. I ordered some chicken dish (forget the name) & it wasn't bad nor good. It was an interesting flavor that my pallet isn't used to. I'm not usually a picky eater.

Yelp
The perfect spot for feasting on Korean foods! The new menu item OX intestine BBQ was superb! Perfectly seared with the right balance of meatiness and fattiness. The giant rice ball was packed with tuna, seaweed, pickled radish... very rich in flavors and textures. Rose tteokbokki was creamy. Love the smoky sausage! The pork soup tasted really healthy, was comforting on stomach. The portion of the seafood pancake was generously big! My all-time favorite LA Galbi never fails. The naengmyum was so refreshing and perfect for summertime!
google avatar

Kai S.

Yelp
This is a really homey place if you want a warm and hearty samgyetang. The broth was rich in chicken flavor but it was so light. The chicken itself was a bit overcooked and the huge number of bones made it hard to get a lot of meat out. Still, a very satisfying, comforting soup for a cold day. The jajangmyeon tteokbokki was interesting, normally I've only had gochujang-based tteokbokkis. The sauce coated the rice cakes and ramen noodles and fish cakes well, it was sweet, salty, savory. A familiar flavor applied to tteokbokki for the first time for me.

Yelp
This place is the spot for gukbaps! On a rainy Sunday afternoon, my group of about 13 was able to get seated right away. The service was quick and attentive, and our orders came out pretty soon after. They have a variety of soups and dishes on the menu that made it a good spot for big groups, as we all found something that we wanted to eat. I ordered the dwaeji gukbap (돼지국밥) and it really hit the spot, with the portion size being a lot bigger than expected. Make sure to season it with the condiments that they bring! We did see that the restaurant started to fill up pretty quickly so we were glad to have come a bit early and enjoy the comfort food!

Yelp
Came across this new restaurant near Koreatown in NYC which used to not be there when I was living in NYC. Hence, I decided to check this place out. As many already know, korean foods near koreatown is pretty pricy but this Tosokchon, despite its location, was pretty reasonable. The food also was pretty authentic and better than other korean restaurants that I have tried in NYC. Among korean restaurants in Koreatown, I think this place deserves a 5 star for the price and taste. When you are near by, come check this place out!

Yelp
Seoul casually let me know that, with few exceptions, I've probably never had good Korean food in NYC. So after a visit there, I was desperate to find something within a reasonable commuting distance that tasted as good as the flavor bombs I experienced in the motherland. I'm still searching, but the newly opened Tosokchon is a top contender. Here's why: - Homemade kimchi that's actually spicy--not white people-diluted spicy, but no-holds-barred, chili and garlic extravaganza, spicy. Kimchi that made my lips tingle and my tongue sing. - Supremely flavorful Dweji Gukbab that was saturated with pork bone flavor. So many times, these broths just taste like salt water. Not so here. - Yukgaejang with Sujebi: This is normally a kalguksu, but I was craving sujebi after the perfect pieces I had in Seoul, so I asked if they'd sub in sujebi instead. They happily accommodated. The sujebi itself was a bit overcooked and mushy, but I did like the balanced flavor of the Yukgaejang, complete with deliciously crunchy gosari. You can tell there are still some small kinks the restaurant is working out, but the sharp flavors of the food and the friendliness of the staff are both on the less common side of Manhattan K-Town. Hopefully, they expand their sujebi offerings, so I don't have to keep trekking to Murray Hill, Queens for the good stuff.

Yelp
Eh. I had high hopes. Was serviceable but nothing was spectacularly great. They are open 23 hours which can be helpful. We had several soups including Busan gookbap, gamja tang, ox tail soup, yukgajang. All were okay but nothing really stood out. Something is missing. Also they really under serve their portions. The tendon had just one thin layer. Sauted soondae had way more noodles than actual soondae. They make it seem like it's a lot but in reality they really cheap out on their portions. Service was attentive and good. Interior was just okay. Anyway for soup New Wonjo or The Kunjip are actually much better.
google avatar

Carrie L.

Yelp
Dined here a few times and service was mediocre every time. Decent traditional Korean food and wait was 10-15 minutes on a Saturday night. Bossam was fantastic!
google avatar

Victoria G.

Yelp
Food 6/10 Spicy beef soup was a bit bland. Massive massive bowls, filled with a lot of ingredients, but the seasoning just wasn't there. Must get the galbitang next time Atmosphere 7/10 A very normal Korean restaurant interior. Service 7/10 Solid.

Yelp
Tosokchon is a restaurant serving authentic korean food 24 hours a day, so perfect for your 3am late night cravings! they offer a variety of options including noodles, soups, bibimbab, pancakes, dumplings, and meat dishes. we ordered: *seafood pancake $18 *dakdori tang $19 *sundubu jjigae w/ seafood $18 *bibim naengmyun $17 *jeyuk bokeum $28 *tteokbokki w/ noodles $14 *apple soju $16 food was pretty good. our favs were the seafood pancake and sundubu jjigae (tofu soup). so generous with the amount of tofu and perfect spice level. my friend also liked their dakdori tang (stew w/ chicken, potato, and onions), if you're looking for a flavorful yet comforting chicken soup, highly recommend this. the sauce on the bibim naengmyun (cold noodles w/ spicy sauce) was a bit too thick. the tteokbokki was good but soo spicy for us. my friend said the jeyuk bokeum (marianted pork loin in spicy sauce) was also tooo spicy. we have low spice tolerances lol. overall, solid korean spot with diff options for everyone! come check this place out
google avatar

Samantha D.

Yelp
I was super excited to come and try Tosokchon because it was one of the only places in Manhattan that serves spicy dakbal. Haven't seen any other places that serves it in Manhattan. It wasn't the dakbal I was expecting, but I should've read the small print better. It comes boiled. The sauce was way too sweet compared to salty. It wasn't good. Their kimchi is also on the sweeter side. Sujebi tang came in a large portion. Larger than I expected. One bowl would've been enough for two people. The sujebi was a little too chewy. The clams weren't cleaned well enough. There was still some sand in some of them. The soup was on the saltier side. Soondae guk was okay. The guk itself wasn't bad, but the soondae had a weird taste. It tasted almost either too iron-y or not cleaned enough. Overall, Tosokchon was disappointing. Really wanted to like it, but it just wasn't great.
google avatar

Amber K.

Yelp
I really liked the sudae guk but the rabokki was not that good. I would come back again to try their other stews! ALSO, I liked their kimchi. However I went again their kimchi was bad and their radish kimchi was even worse. I think they over fermented it or something and the soup tasted bland compared to before but I would still comeback to try some other things if I was craving Korean. It's usually pretty empty in here when I come because it's an off time, but it's really big and clean so I'm sure more people come in the evening.
google avatar

Cherylin L.

Yelp
tosokchon is now my go-to for legit Korean eats. They offer traditional Korean food . The service are amazing. They are super friendly. The dedication to flavor, quality and a warm ambiance make it a standout dining experience. Must-try : Samgyetang , a comforting ginseng chicken soup that warms your soul. And if you are a BBQ fan, don't miss out on the thin sliced perfection of their La galbi - it's a flavor journey you won't want to end.

Yelp
4.5 stars - Casual but homey spot serving up a variety of stews, noodles, and other korean comfort meals. Contrary to what other reviews have stated, the portions are actually enormous when dining in. My friend and I ordered the mandu guk, yukgaejang kalguksu, and bossam to share, thinking that 2 items alone might not be enough. We were absolutely stuffed and had plenty of leftovers. Kimchi here is really tasty, and definitely a favorite for me. The yukgaejang was a bit on the diluted side, but still tasty overall. Service is quick & friendly, and utensils are available on the table. Highly recommend a resy for Fridays & weekends, since they filled up pretty quickly on a Wednesday night. Will definitely be back! Glad to have an affordable and filling option in the ktown area.

Yelp
4.5 stars Originally we were going to another Korean restaurant in the area but because of the wait, we decided to come here. My friend came here before and recommended it. There was no wait and we were seated immediately. Place wasn't packed but had a good amount of people. Service was a little slow at this restaurant. We had to flag someone down to take our order. We ordered the galbi tang, gamja tang, clam kalguksu (knife cut noodles). There were two side dishes (kimchi and pickled radish). They were both delicious but I wish there were more side dishes. Usually places have 3-4 side dishes. The food was absolutely delicious. The clam soup was refreshing and light. The little clams were sandy and the noodles were chewy. The galbi tang was also really light and the soup came with glass noodles inside the soup and pieces of galbi. The least favorite was the gamja tang but it was still good. The flavor was good and the pieces of meat were tender. The portion size of the food was good and the prices are really affordable. I was full and satisfied at the end of my meal. I would love to come back again to try other things on their menu. Service is a little slow but I liked how we weren't rushed out with the check. More side dishes would be amazing too!

Yelp
The perfect meal on a cold windy NYC day: noodle soup. My friend came in here to escape the cold after the thanksgiving parade (thankfully they were opened!). We each got the kalguksu and it was very delicious. The soup was slightly salty but even then there was a still a good amount of flavor in the broth. They were very generous with the ingredients and I felt that I had a good amount of clams in my noodle. For the side dishes, we got radish and kimchi and I felt that the radish was better tasting imo. The kimchi didn't taste fermented and had a lot of the kimchi paste on it. There was a slight bit of wait in the beginning but it moved pretty quickly and we were able to get seated within a reasonable amount of time. We also really liked the interior of the restaurant as it was very wood heavy. The service was nice and quick and we were able to get our order in quickly! Overall, this was an affordable place for Korean noodle soup that didn't sacrifice quality for price!
google avatar

Albert L.

Yelp
A quite interesting off street Korean restaurant in Korean town. I never expect the food is quite good. It is not too spicy. The intestine seems quite crispy and crunchy. Cold noodle is really refreshing. Pork belly is a must for all Korean bbq. A very nice restaurant to try.
google avatar

Jimmy L.

Yelp
3.5 stars Tried their dwaejigukbap, a dish popular in Busan, SK. The version served here was a little watered down I think (or perhaps an off day). But this is supposed to be a pretty plain soup so can't rly complain. Slices of meat were 80% pig tripe if you prefer that, but not how I had it in other places. Prices are standard Manhattan Ktown ish price tags. Overpriced for what it is but rents due when it's due. Their japchae was recommended, this was solid. I wanted to try some soondae but the waitress (thankful for her honesty) told me it's a hit or miss on some days . Decided not to roll the dice Overall, a fun place that seems to draw young crowds with satisfactory food. I would come again but prob not for a while lol
google avatar

Veronica L.

Yelp
DELICIOUS, authentic Korean cuisine! Their banchans and kimchi to start are SOLID!! We had to get refills. The Tteokbokki was my favorite - the sauce was the perfect balance between sweet and spicy (not too hot), and the LA Galbi was SO YUM!! The seafood in the seafood Japchae was kinda small, but nonetheless still very good. The service is very attentive and accommodating, and the interior is spacious. Great spot with great food - 10/10 would recommend!!

Yelp
Great place to grab food with friends especially in the middle of the day since they're open all the time. I was looking for a restaurant near Ktown that my friend and I could get a meal ~3:30 and this was the only one open since many close from 3-5. We both got stews and they were good and moderately priced.
google avatar

Sabrina H.

Yelp
I came here with friends for lunch a few days ago and loved it. I got a pork bimbimbap, and my friends got the gamja tang and kimchi jigae. The servers were extremely kind and offered me an apron because I was wearing a white sweater. I noticed another girl was also wearing an apron because her shirt was also white. I thought that was really thoughtful and really appreciated the gesture. They were also very kind and made sure we always had enough kimchi and water. The food was delicious and the ambiance is pretty nice with 2 tv screens playing kpop.

Cheryl L.

Yelp
4-4.5 stars! Tosokchon makes for a great dinner choice when catching up with friends or even a casual date night. Service was quick and attentive and portions were humongous!! I read a couple of reviews that the portion size was small so we got 3 things - mandu guk with rice cake, yukgaejang kalguksu, and bossam for my friend and I to share and we had loads of leftovers. Everything was homey and they have seasonings and kimchi to add flavor to the broth, which my friend and I agreed were on the lighter side. It got pretty crowded for a week night so I'd suggest making a resy if you were going on a weekend. Overall, affordable prices and a good bang for your buck if you're near ktown.

Yelp
BEST GOPCHANG IVE HAD IN AMERICA Im a huge fan of Korean intestines and this place doesn't get enough credit for their intestines that taste better than gopchang story. It was so well marinated we didn't need any sauce. The texture was tender and juicy. The chives were great but the GARLIC added so much more flavor to the dish. It just melts in your mouth and wasn't garlicky at all. Both the rice cake on the grill and in the tobboki was great and perfectly cooked. I would say relatively, the cold noodle was a bit underwhelming/too salty but maybe I just added too much sauce. Besides the food, the service was great and attentive as well. Unlike other Korean places, they actually seemed happy and energetic. We were 20+ mins late to our reservation due to traffic but the restaurant didn't cancel on us. Overall a great experience and will definitely come back soon!

Yelp
Ktowns new addition. Medium size dining restaurant perfect for small to medium sized parties. We only waited 15min to be seated. There was a line after we sat down. The food was great my Fave was the ttokbokki and the spicy jokbol soup. The japchae was ok. The side banchans were plenty and often replenished. Service was really great as usual in Korean establishments. Please come hungry. Would love to come back to try other menu items. Welcome to ktown!

Yelp
Loved the menu of Korean comfort food and the cozy vibe. Noodle servings were huge and ddukbokki to share hit the spot.
google avatar

Yelp
Tosokchon is one of the most authentic Korean restaurants in K-town. They make their sundae in house and the broth for gukbab is deliciously rich without being overly heavy. I've had many gukbabs in Korea and this place is on par with many good places in Korea. Their kimchi is also freshly made and pairs perfectly with the dishes. Being open 24 hours on most days of the week, Tosokchon is a great place to go for a late night meal or early morning hangover cure.

Yelp
Pretty neat spot! They serve a wide assortment of Korean stews and comfort "homey" foods, which is especially perfect for rainy or cold days. I can imagine myself coming here a lot this winter. The prices are very reasonable and the serving sizes are perfect for lunch or dinner. I highly recommend for a casual meal with family or friends, I'll definitely be back myself!

Yelp
I was thrilled about the new To Sok Chon in NYC, being a fan of the Virginia location. However, my excitement turned into disappointment. The Soondea Guk machine was broken, so we opted for Dogani Suyuk and Oxtail Soup. Shockingly, we received minimal tendon and just 6 pieces of thin brisket for $38 and 4 pieces of oxtail for $28 in the soup. A bit of a ripoff. Adding to the frustration, we found a large piece of paper in the kimchi. While the server replaced it, the overall experience pales in comparison to the Virginia branch. Doubtful about returning unless improvements are made.

Yelp
Tosokchon definitely has some of the best korean food in manhattan. my friends and I went here once and I've also ordered from here and went here by myself multiple times now, their food is great. I've tried their 순대국 (soondae guk), 돼지국밥 (dwaeji gukbap), 제육볶음 (jeyuk bokkeum), 삼계탕 (samgyetang), 해장국 (hangover soup), 족발 (jokbal), and 칼국수 (kalguksu). every one of those dishes are great. Their service is pretty quick and the staff is friendly. The environment and interior is also really nice and welcoming. Would recommend.

Yelp
Walk in and you'll be transported to a new world free of any upcharged ktown food with massive portions. It gives jersey korean food with a comforting homey feeling. The jokbal was great. Yukgaejang kalguksu was tasty. The spicy galbi jeongol is kinda like a larger version of the spicy pork galbi jjim with clear noodles. Mul naengmyun was nice and refreshing after having all the warm spicy soups and stews. Definitely worth stopping by!!

Yelp
Comfort food all the way The soup/noodles Solid I got bibim myun the first time (a little too much sauce) I got yookgaejang the second time and that hit the spot

Yelp
Came here on thanksgiving lunch! They were packed inside even at 2pm but we didn't have to wait long for a table. The soup here was perfect for the cold weather. My friend and I tried the clam kalguksu and the dumpling kalguksu. I loved how the broth tasted a bit peppery and came as a huge portion. They serve radish and kimchi as side dishes here- radish was good but kimchi kinda had a weird taste. The service is excellent and food came out pretty quick. Would definitely come back to try their other dishes!

Yelp
I think this place was new. It was spacious and not too empty. The portion was gigantic!! This portion with this price was not how I usually expect from Manhattan restaurants. We ordered a kalguksu, a sujebi and spicy jokbal for a party of three and we have enough leftover for the next day. All the dishes were delicious, but the spicy jokbal was really spicy (even for someone who often enjoys samyang spicy noodles). I didn't expect much from this place and it was such a pleasant surprise. I would highly recommend and would totally come back!

Yelp
Came after a concert on a Saturday, place was busy but not packed. We mainly chose this place because they open till very late Food came out fairly fast and everything was very comforting and delicious. The portions were also very generous The side dishes were pretty good too (but nothing to write home about)

Yelp
i am SO happy tosokchon has come to nyc!! if there's one thing missing in ktown is a SOLID and authentic korean food spot and this one certainly delivers!!! i can't wait to come back and try all of my favorite gukbaps :) the food: i got the spicy chicken soup (닭볶음탕) and the hot stone bibimbap. the soup was filled with lots of chicken and really flavorful - they have so much on the menu that i want to come back for, specifically the bone broth soups (돼지국밥 / 순대국밥) because there's no where in manhattan to get the perfect gukbap but this place!! the space: i love the hanok detailing, it feels homey while still being spacious. it fills up pretty quick - every table was taken on a pretty early friday dinner and on sunday lunch! the service: quick, attentive! also i used to ALWAYS frequent the tosokchon in north jersey, im unsure if it's a part of the same establishment but i loved it there and it really reminds me of the same place!!

Yelp
I thought the food was very average and the service was below subpar. We got mul nengmyun (cold noodles) and a beef soup. Typically in Korean restaurants it's a standard to cut the buckwheat noodles twice. They seemed to have no knowledge of this. The taste of both items just did not hit the same. It wasn't the type of comforting food you'd eat anywhere else (esp for the price.) The complimentary rice cakes were super overcooked and cold. I regretted not ordering just soju (it was BOGO and would've been better than cold, soft ricecakes....) I think this place could do better. Most the items I wanted to order were also not available, but the staff wasn't really aware. It seemed like people were just hanging out here, and occasionally serving customers...

Yelp
We ordered takeout and got the seafood pancake and Jokbal. The seafood pancake was standard, what I expect so it was pretty decent. The Jokbal was pretty good and gave a lot got a small. $20 for that much seems pretty reasonable. The service was pretty good even though we got takeout. There wasn't that many people dining in but the environment was pretty nice! Overall, it's not a bad place to go to!

Yelp
This new spot a block off Koreatown is a hidden gem! The food here is really good and high quality. I've tasted lots of Korean places in the area and their Seafood Pancake and bibimbap is much better than a lot of other places. The female waitress who took our order was very sweet and checked up on us a couple times. I appreciated her service! It was quite packed on a Sunday afternoon, but we liked how spacious the environment was. The kimchi here is also sweet and spicy with a great marinade. This may be one of the best kimchis I've tasted in Koreatown!!

Yelp
Soo impressed with Tosokchon. I'm a huge fan of gukbap & I ended up getting the soondae gukbap with a side of tteokbokki & soju. I requested for no intestines in mine. The gukbap was clean tasting yet feelin flavor. You can really customize with adding shrimp jutgal & peppers & chives. Service was super attentive and I loved how open and clean the atmosphere was! Excited to try other items in the menu the next time I'm in the city.
