"This comely Japanese dining room, open since 2018, is one of those restaurants that is just reliable whether you’re in the mood for casual or something more special occasion (thanks to its dim lighting). Formatted as a Japanese izakaya, find small plates like tuna carpaccio with yuzu, brussel sprouts with okonomiyaki sauce, and their must-have chicken karaage. There are also plenty of hand rolls to choose from." - Eater Staff
"Stepping into a handsomely worn, sepia-like dining room, I treated this izakaya’s small-plate karaage fried chicken ($10) as a great starter—the chicken is crisp and juicy and comes with gochujang aioli and a wedge of lemon." - Eater Staff
"This is a nicer neighborhood restaurant with a mix of raw bar options, small plates, and large-portioned entrees. The menu doesn’t really fit into one category or theme, but there’s a lot of Japanese influence, with things like caesar salad that comes with yuzu dressing, Japanese fried chicken, and a seared salmon bowl with brown rice, ginger, and seaweed flakes on top. One way we do know how to categorize the food is by telling you that it’s good, and we’d especially recommend trying a few of the smaller dishes and some oysters. The space is long and attractive, like they found all the best items in a vintage thrift store and really made it work. It’s a great option for a group dinner or a date in Stuyvesant Heights." - Hannah Albertine
"Japanese restaurant serving oysters, small plates, and entrees with various cuisines." - Kayla Kumari Upadhyaya
"A warm, cozy Japanese restaurant that executes a varied communal surf-and-turf meal flawlessly—sushi, steak, karaage, and multiple salads—paired with well-made cocktails and indulgent desserts like frosting-coated cream puffs." - Paula Aceves, Margalit Cutler
