The 10 Best Tiki Bars In LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"On the far side of Downtown Disney sits the perpetually dated Disneyland Hotel and its faint attempt to hold on to whatever allure Anaheim might’ve had in the 1950s (hint: it was orange groves). But one gem remains on the premises: Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar. The kitschy, overpriced, and nonetheless legendary pool bar is a must-visit, if only to drink the thunderstorm-inducing Uh Oa! cocktail. It’s the rum-filled fishbowl you’ve been wanting since getting lost for 45 minutes inside the Mickey & Friends parking garage earlier this morning. Ooooooooooo-ga!" - brant cox

The 38 Best Things to Eat at Disneyland

"No one’s technically coming to Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar for the food, but these crispy crunchy bites are the perfect complement to a couple rounds of Hippopoto mai tais or Krakatoa Punch. Not thirsty? Find them a la carte at Tangaroa Terrace next door." - Carlye Wisel

All the Best Things to Drink at Disneyland | Eater LA

"This tiki bar near the Disneyland Hotel pool is truly enchanted, with cocktail orders that unlock mini shows. Sit at the bar — preferably on a magically elevating barstool — long enough and it’s easy to figure out which ones those are. But the Uh-Oa!, which is served in a souvenir bowl that can be purchased with the potent large-batch cocktail, angers the volcano that then spews “lava.” The drink is presented on fire with sparks. But instead of running for your lives, sip on the cocktail’s mix of rums and orange, passion fruit, guava, pineapple, and grapefruit juices." - Caroline Pardilla

So I'll start with the good. The food was top-notch, the drinks were exquisitely crafted, and the tiki mugs were excellent. My wife got the Pupu Plater. Every part of it was delicious, but the orange chilie wings really stood out as the best. I got the Poke Bowl, Ahi tuna. The poke was good. It reminded me of a less spicy version of a poke back home. It's worth the price, at least. For the drinks, I got a Shipwreck on the Rocks and Piranha Pool. The Shipwreck was strong but not overbearing. The Piranha Pool was very sweet and more of a dessert, I loved it. My kids got cheeseburgers, pretty mid to be honest. We did get dessert while we were there. I got the coconut cake, best coconut cake I've ever had. No for the bad. Unfortunately when we showed up at 5pm, the hostess was quite rude. I had asked for inside seating and made it clear we didn't mind waiting. She snapped and told us it was too late and the kids could not go in there. The app shows kids can sit inside up until 8pm, if that's no longer the case it needs to be changed. I shouldn't be chastised by a hostess over it. My next complaint still falls on the hostess, I requested seating in the shade since we are from Alaska and the heat was quite intolerable at times. She placed us directly in the sun, thankfully our server was able to move us to a better spot. I took 1 star off the service for the rude hostess, our waitress was fantastic. The atmosphere really can't be helped much. We were seated outside, not inside as requested. At the price point of $240 and the disappointing service of the hostess, we will not be returning to Trader Sam's Disneyland. I'll take the drive next time and find a different tiki bar.

Located at the Disneyland Hotel resort, it is an absolutely fantastic place for Disney adults to grab a good drink. Trader Sam's is a fun and relaxing Tiki-themed bar offering a great variety of tropical drinks and fun, collectible cups you can purchase as souvenirs. The food is good, with great platters and seasonal dishes. The atmosphere inside the bar is chill and relaxing, with a low-light setting. It is small inside and really set for groups of 2–4 indoors. They offer outside seating where live music sometimes plays, seating more depending on your party size. Overall, it's a great place to experience.

My buddy chose to eat at a spot outside the theme park and this was a great pick. I had their striped bass and wagyu lettuce wrap burger with sweet potato fries along with their pupu platter. Everything was delicious but the pupu platter was the stand out. The drinks were good also and chose the “Safe Travels” which was pretty good with my lunch options. I chose to sat outside not knowing the interior was excellent, next time I’ll dine inside the bar area. I’d definitely come back here again to try their other menu items.

Always a fun time! Our Skipper, Des, was so much fun. Drinks were excellent and so was the food, although we ordered too much of it. We got the poo poo platter, the Wagyu cheeseburger and the Kahlúa pork sweet potato fries.

Disney has outdone themselves again. We stopped in for a relaxing lunch at Trader Sam's. The atmosphere is so relaxing with sun peeking through palm fronds, casting shadows on the tables. Umbrella drinks including a Dole Whip with Rum and a Shipwreck on the Rocks. We ordered a Pu Pu Platter, which included some of the best gyoza I've ever had and a Hawaiian Chicken Teriyaki platter. Once again, some of the best food I've had! We may not leave and just keep resting on this lanai to try everything on the menu.

Google
Like everything Disney does, this place goes all in — nothing is done in half measures! It’s an absolute must for the experience alone. The interior design is stunning, and the cocktail menu is super original—some even come with a fun, interactive twist. Huge shoutout to the staff as well, they’re not just bartenders, they’re fully immersed in the theme and genuinely committed to making your time here unforgettable. Top-tier experience all around. P.S. If you can, get a seat at the bar, they are the best seats in the house.

Google
Not just "the pool bar", but one of the best Tiki Bars around. The bartenders can make you amazing drinks off-menu and they're always so friendly and accommodating. The food menu is great as well, and as always at Disney, they're able to accommodate for dietary restrictions and allergies. If you've never been, try to get a seat inside for the full experience (and to see the special effects!). You can put your name in and if the wait to get inside is a bit long (during peak times it's often around 1-1.5 hours since it is very small inside), you can always walk over to Tangaroa Terrace and the walk up bar next door to order a drink while you wait (same bartenders and menu is available in both locations). Stroll around the hotel, hang out by the outdoor fireplace, do a little browsing in the hotel gift shop, and they'll be calling you back for your table before you know it. In the evenings, the patio is a gorgeous place to sit as well, with tiki torches lit and live music playing.

Google
Loved listening to live ukulele as the sun set while sipping on a tropical drink. A must do experience for any tiki bar fans. Sitting outside is just as nice as inside. Although you do miss the show inside when someone orders their specialty drink. Amazing service and tasty drinks. They do walk-ins but a reservation is always your best option!

Yelp
Great for Disney fans. The drinks are strong and sweet if that's more your vibe. A pretty far walk from the parks, but my group thought it was worth it. Service was good too and they have food options too if you go for lunch. If you want to sit inside, space is limited and not great for larger parties.

Yelp
I haven't been to Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar in about 10 years, so my recent experience to the restaurant/bar felt like the first time. My family and I knew that there was probably a long waitlist to get in, especially since it was a Friday evening around 9pm. We had no preference to outdoor vs indoor seating, so we took the first available table, which would be outside. Despite Trader Sam's being busy, we waited 10-minutes max. I also do think that we beat a rush of folks coming from the park, which helped minimize our wait time. The night air was a little chilly since it was early January, but we were comfortable with the nearby heat lamps. Service was excellent. Our waitress was very sweet. The drinks came out first and then the food, but everything came out in a timely manner. The entire party ordered Piranha Pool, which was like a blended lava flow but with Blue Curaçao. It was delicious. I also appreciated that the alcohol didn't overpower the taste, which I typically find at Tiki bars. My sister got her cocktail with the souvenir cup that was an impressive looking piranha. We wanted some light bites to snack on while having our drinks. We ordered the Pupu Platter to share so that we can sample their popular items. Overall I thought this dish was just OK. It dish consisted of pork gyoza, tempura fried green Beans, shrimp tempura, and chicken wings. I don't eat pork but heard from the group that the pork gyoza was fine. I personally loved the chicken wings the most. They were extra crispy and had a tasty spiced dry rub. The shrimp tempura was standard, but I liked its dipping sauce. I thought that the green beans were too salty and flimsy even though they were deep fried.

Yelp
We were able to snag a reservation for the inside part of Trader Sam's, and it's always so fun. They recently changed their menu (and I do like the old one better), but the food is still good and what you would expect. They were super busy the night we went and we didn't get to see our server much, but it was the holidays and I'm chalking it up to that. The inside of the space is so on point, and the staff make it even better by making it an immersive experience. We will be back!

Yelp
Ambiance is a 4.5 But I'm sorry, the dole whip is so overrated and it's $9.50. They forced us to pay for the ugly nightmare before Christmas cup that it comes in. We bought two dole whips thinking it would be worth it but it tasted like pineapple flavored soap. I can't believe I paid over $20 for two. You could easily split 1 for 4 people. I wouldn't come here again just for the dole whips. I might change my mind if I come here again to order other stuff.

Yelp
What an amazing first time experience at Trader Sam's Tiki Bar!! Better than what I had in mind from watching Jojo's World (Jonathan, if you're reading this by any chance, HIII!! and don't worry, I couldn't pull the sword today at Disneyland), always a wait and it's always busy but what a Christmas miracle it was, given it was a Saturday the 21st of December. The time we headed there was noon, Disney Downtown was PACKED! But my bestie snagged a reservation as we were walking near the Frontier Hotel and boy, we were lucky to be even seated. This review is just for drinks and services, we didn't order food since we ate at Ballest Point. Not outdoor patio seating, no, no. THE BAR COUNTER!! Yes, you might be thinking why the bar? Why not indoor dining table? Let me tell you a brief story on how, as an adult, who loves Disney only ever drank at the park two times. One in 2017 Cove Bar but now it's Lamplight Lounge and in 2023 for my golden birthday, at Pym Tasting Lab, all of course in DCA. Fast forwarded until 12/21/24, weather was perfect, low 60's and accompany by best friend who is a Disney Adult, Sara; we sat at the bar stool and was greeted by Jenny, told her it's my first time here and what kind of drinks would she recommened for someone who likes alcohol but on the sweeter side. Mosquito Mojito was one of them but something about dragon berry rum didn't fit my forte so I asked is there a secret menu kind of drink and she suggested BLUEBERRY LEMONADE. I WAS SOLD!! WHY? Well I had already picked out what souvenir cup I wanted to commemorate this celebration of my first time being at Trader Sam (See pic on which cup I picked out) Place the ordered and wooohoooo!! (Not to sound like an alcoholic) But that drink hit that spot for me, a core memory has been made and I can't wait to come back here with more friends to celebrate. Even if it's small victories. Thank you to Felipe and Jenny for making my first time at Trader Sam a wonderful experience! Ya'll went to infinity and BEYOND!!

Yelp
In late July, my hubby and I made an impromptu visit to Disneyland. With no reservations on a Friday night, we walked up with hopes that by some miracle there'd be a miracle for just the two of us to enjoy this bar. I think there was a 30-40 minute wait, but they were able to let us in! We just killed time by wandering around the Disneyland Hotel while waiting for a spots to open up. The tiki bar itself is an experience. At random times, the bar stools will just start to sink, and the bartender jokingly attacks you asking, "Why must must you be so short with me!' It kind of set the mood for the whole evening in addition to ordering a triangular punch bowl drink that "made a thunderstorm" happen. It might have rained inside the bar or I might have been secretly sprayed with a spray bottle filled with water but I distracted by the show that came with the punch bowl. Uh-Oa, is the name I believe. You're in for a fun ride! Haha! The food was really good! It complimented my boozy dole whip well! It's always worth the time to squeeze visiting this charming bar in. You're getting the Disneyland experience continued just outside the park.

Yelp
Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar is located inside the Disneyland Hotel across from Disneyland Park. It's actually located right next to Downtown Disney so if you're in that area and have time you can make a stop if you're able to get a seat. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We came on a Saturday evening with no reservations and were told there was only outdoor seating which was fine with us. Our outdoor table ended up being great because we were facing the live music that came on at 9pm. ZOMBIE ($19) - zombies are famous for being very strong and this drink was no exception. It was delicious and really easy to drink which make for a dangerous combination. 5/5 TIKI LA CASITA ($20) - this was a tequila-based drink which reminded me of a margarita with guava. I wasn't as big of a fan of this drink compared to the other ones not because it wasn't good, but if I'm going to a tiki bar I'm sticking with the rum-based ones. 3.5/5 UH-OA! ($28) - this is a shared drink for two or more people. You can use the cinnamon on the side to light the fire for extra effects and say a chant while sprinkling it. It was really good and easy to drink which again is dangerous. 5/5 The great thing is that they give three hours parking validation. It might be a bit of a walk from the parking lot to the bar and the area might be packed with Disney-goers even if you're not visiting the park yourself, but it's a fun bar with great drinks.

Yelp
Service was awesome and great recommendations from the bartender. Super small but loved the decoration. Long wait time but well worth it. Def coming back

Yelp
We hadn't been to Disneyland for years and enjoy tiki bars, so Hubby brought me here for my belated October-birthday gift. Self-parking was super easy at the hotel. Get it validated when you are at the bar and 3 hrs. of parking is free. We went on a chilly February night without reservations and had the choice of waiting for an outside table (10 min.) or waiting for a table inside at the bar (1 hr. + 10 min.) We opted for the outside and it was not bad at all as there were plenty of tiki torches, great service and live Hawaiian music. I had Mai Tais and hubby had an Angolada that was great. There was a lot of crushed ice in the mai tai and so not quite up to par with the Mai Tais in Hawaii. We ordered two pupu platters which had all the fried food you need at a bar. Service was great - the only weird thing was that there were no Tiki drink prices on the menu. Our drinks were $18-$19 each.

Yelp
A treasured past time of mine is going to Trader Sam's. I can happily say that since it first opened, it has only aged better with time. My whole group all unanimously agreed that it was our favorite meal that we had during our last Disney trip! Lisa the hostess was so kind and a delight to chat with. Our server Justin was great. The food is amazing on every level. It truly was the cherry on top of an incredible Disney trip.

Yelp
Pretty cool spot located amongst the hotels at Disneyland. The outdoor space is nice and has heaters. The Hawaiian plater with the beef was good, just a little cold. The Poke bowl was excellent and they didn't short on the tuna. The drinks taste like vacation. For a second, I forgot about my lovely commute back home...the piranha pool was good, just a lot of sugar. The Tiki Tiki rum was fantastic and definitely dangerous.

Yelp
This place is a WHOLE VIBE, it can be difficult to get seated inside but it's worth the wait! The bartenders and staff are always friendly and they serve up some of the best tasting tiki drinks in the land. The burger on the menu never disappoints, you can get it with regular or sweet potato fries (you can't go wrong with either). The Disney magic is all around with dipping barstools and fun drink announcements. If you have a chance to check this place out it's a must when in the area!

Yelp
Cute bar. Highly recommend making reservations. It's always busy. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. We just went for a drink, ordered tiki la casita and it was so refreshing.

Yelp
Recently stopped at Disneyland to do some shopping and popped into traders on my way out. The inside was a no go as usual but the walk up bar had like 5 open seats, so I grabbed a cocktail and a tasty burger. I'd never get the burger again, because it has to be well done. It was tasty but too dry for me. Guys at the bar are cool but they are so busy! They handle the pool traffic for servers so they are making a lot of drinks. A nice Disney spot that can feel very chill during the middle of the day.

Yelp
When we've stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, this has been our favorite place to eat and get a few things to go to eat poolside. They have a menu that features California cuisine and Asian fusion items like a poke bowl and California rolls. The service has always been helpful, attentive and genuinely friendly. If you eat at the restaurant you'll love the outdoor tables that are arranged to make them ideal for visiting and talking. They also have a playful mixed drink menu. My favorite is the Dole whip with rum. Just so fun.

Yelp
Waiting for our reservation at Ding Tai Fung so we walked here. Ambiance Just so chill and fun. We walked in and sat at bar. Service Stephanie our bartender made really tasty and beautiful cocktails. She suggested some dishes, gonna get tempura green beans next time. Cocktails Zombie This will kill and eat u. Cool zombie cup but I have too many cups already so I will pass on it. Tiki La Casita Spirit forward cocktail with finesse. Bees were swarming orgeat syrup, interesting. I luv this place.

Yelp
Although we didn't have a reservation we were greeted and pleasantly surprised at the 10 minute wait for outdoor seating. Sadly the indoor seating was a 2 hour wait. That's what knocked a star off lol. I really appreciate the new seating for 2 arrangement on the patio it makes for a more intimate experience and people watching is fun! The food was great I was able to order off of the kids menu because I have had bariatric surgery so I don't eat much. I had the teriyaki chicken bowl. My "drink" of choice was the delicious dole whip float with a splash of rum. This drink is off menu but they will make it for you since it is offered at the bar around the corner. We were not rushed at all and enjoyed our food and drinks. We had an amazing experience.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem that not everyone knows about when visiting the Disney Parks. I kind of like it that way though. It's hidden around the corner from Disneyland Hotel. We put our name down to wait for the inside bar it was about a 40 min. wait. Staff is friendly all around. We were seated at the bar and had a great time. The drinks are a little pricey but it's a nice pour and the atmosphere is awesome. So it's definitely worth it. Bartenders are interactive and make it fun. We had a few drinks and also tried the tempura green beans which were soo good! If you never been here it's a great experience and I definitely recommend.

Yelp
Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar is a hidden gem on the Disney property. It's out of the main area of Disneyland, California Adventure and Downtown Disney. Located near the pool area of the Disneyland Hotel, Trader Sam's offers a little bit of paradise in the middle of Anaheim. The tiki bar itself is very small with only a few seats at the bar. The majority of the seating is located right outside where they have numerous tables. They do offer food options here as well along with non-alcoholic drinks and mocktails. // DRINKS // UH-OA! | Rum, dark rum, orange juice, passion fruit, guava, pineapple, grapefruit, falernum, cinnamon and fresh lime juice. A large tiki style drink meant for 2 people. It's a fun drink and if you wanted to keep the tiki mug that it comes in, it will cost you an additional $75. 3.5/5 HIPPOPOTO MAI-TAI | Dark rum, rum, orange curacao, orgeat, agave nectar, fresh lime juice. The mai tai here is on the stronger side which is nice. If you sip on a couple of these, you will be sure to feel it flowing through your veins! 4/5 TIKI MARGARITA or TIKI LA CASITA | Tequila, guava puree, pineapple juice, falernum, clement creole orange shrub, orange bitters, lime juice. Fruity, tropical and delicious! I've noticed it can go by either of the 2 names listed above. Sometimes it will say one thing on the printed menu in person while it will say the other name if you look at the menu through the Disney app. 4.5/5 PIRANHA POOL | Vodka blended with pineapple juice, cream of coconut, strawberry puree, blue curacao. If you're looking for something that is on the sweeter side, definitely go for the Piranha Pool! It's more of like a slushie with the strawberry puree and is really good on a hot day! 4.5/5 If you're at the park and want a place to relax some without large crowds, then Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar is the spot to go! They also serve beer and wine if you do not want hard alcohol or cocktails. I would say most of the tiki style drinks are around $20 except the couple drinks that are meant for 2 people are more pricey.

Yelp
I love love to have drinks here every time I stay at the hotel. They close late and snacks are good. Juan was our waiter this time. He was so helpful and happy . We love the live music after 8:00 pm . This place is fun

Yelp
I am so glad to have found this place . I was craving dole whip but didn't want to go into the theme park to get it ! This place is located inside the Disneyland hotel, by their pool area. You don't need to sit at their bar just for dole whip. You can walk to the side and head to the walk up counter and order your option of dole whip, or floats! The service was really fast for the walk up counter since it was just for the dole whip! The price is typical for theme park prices, $7-14 , depending on what you order. But the sizes are generous and I typically share with a friend! The dole whip here might even be better than the ones in the park ! You can sit down and enjoy your food without feeling the rush of being inside of the parks :) you can also add the coconut sprinkles which complements it nicely . The flavor is a perfect balance of pineapple and cream. The dole whip also comes with a souvenir cup for the kids ! I will forsure be making stops here if I need a boost of dole whip!

Yelp
Fun little stop on the Disney adventure for anyone who likes a cool vibe while having some good drinks and food. The staff is entertaining and engaging, which truly makes the experience. Of course the prices are very resort, not the most inexpensive, but it makes for a good time. If you can get reservations or plan for walk up and wait, you'll be fine.

Yelp
Always an enjoyable visit to Trader Sams. If you're looking to sit inside make sure to snag a reservation. The drinks are made well and the show that comes with it is always fun. Some of the drinks can be sweet but most are high quality well made cocktails. Their menu is also delicious, especially the green beans.

Yelp
Always a pleasure to visit here during the holidays and seeing everything decorated! Love the hospitality and the ambiance and reminds me of our trip to Maui. So relaxing and hidden away. Don't let the wait times scare you . They go fast and it is definitely worth the wait . Mahalo.

Yelp
Have I mentioned lately how much I love Tiki bars?! Was in town visiting for my one of my best friend's bachelorette and this was #1 on her list of things of wanting to do. And we had to make it happen! This tiki bar is located inside the Disneyland Resort, and you can get to it through Downtown Disney, which is what we did. They do reservations inside for only about 4 people at a time, so instead we walked up and just asked to be added to the waitlist, since we had 6 people with us. They sat us outside, but our bride really wanted to go inside, so I went back up to the host stand and asked if we could be added to the waitlist for inside. They said about an hour and a half. It's really nice because they have a text message system that will text you when your table is ready, so you don't have to hang around, but you do have ten minutes to report to the host stand before you lose your table. Outside, we enjoyed the beautiful patio on such a wonderful night. I ordered the Mai Tai, and of course I wanted it in the cute souvenir cup because I am who I am. Otherwise, they just serve it to you in a regular glass, which is not as fun. The drink was really good and delicious! I loved it. To eat, I ordered the poke bowl, and it was soooo good that I ate the entire thing. They had live music playing and a Hawaiian dancer. It was beautiful and tropical and for a moment I felt like I was actually in Hawaii on a beach somewhere. Such an amazing experience. Disney really knows how to do that! We finally got our table inside (which is 21+) and were able to be seated together which was so nice. Inside is smaller, but SO cool! Not really what I was expecting at all! If you order certain drinks (like the shipwreck), the employees do some fun stuff... I don't wanna give it away! The staff here is amazing and honestly so accommodating. If you love tiki drinks, definitely recommend this place for an incredible experience.

Yelp
I've love tiki bars and this place is one of my favs! I've been here before but now that I'm yelping I can explain why. First off, they always have exceptional service. The staff are always very friendly and attentive. The food and drinks are always delicious. I always leave having had a great time. You can sit outside in the patio area or inside (which I prefer). If you order the Uh-Oat, you might just get a lil misted. The wings were very crispy and juicy. The gyoza was very good and the sauce to dip them in was even better. My drinks were insanely delicious. I had the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Rum and the Piranha Pool which I got the souvenir mug with. If you like Tiki Bars and are visiting Disneyland then this place is a must!

Yelp
This place is so much fun! The drinks are creative and the staff put on quite a show. I did not like that there weren't prices on the menu nor that you can't buy the tiki mugs separately. The food choices were a bit limited but the loaded fries were phenomenal! The whole place is a fun vibe! Be prepared with a reservation or to wait to be seated inside. We happened to come before dinner on a weekday so walked right in to the bar but others weren't so lucky.

Disney + Hawaiian/Polynesian vibes? What more can you ask for. Trader Sam's is a themed tiki bar within the Disneyland Resort hotel area, it overlooks the Disneyland Hotel pools. It features both indoor and outdoor seating with tropical florals and tiki torches to make it feel like you're really in Hawaii. We prefer to utilize the walk up bar and open seating that is towards the back of the restaurant, especially when there is a 30-45 minute wait for table service seating. The bar tenders are friendly and skilled. They have an assortment of specialty drinks but can make almost anything as it is a full service bar. Highly recommend stopping into Trader Sam for some fun drinks and small bites. Be prepared to pay $20/drink.

Yelp
Now, normally, I love Trader Sam's as my older review states but my latest experience there was anything but great. It was downright awful. I put my name on the list as I prefer eating inside, and have never made a fuss about the long times that you have to wait. I got the second test and hurried over only to be told "no, the cast member pressed it prematurely go sit back down, we'll be sending you another text in 20-30 minutes." While I found that to be a bit shitty of them, I said I'd just wait at the top of the ramp (being handicapped, walking back and forth and back again, isn't something I like to do), she snapped at me telling me to go sit down and I'll be called when my table was ready. I repeated what I had said and she told me no and raised her voice that I had to go back to where I had been sitting and wait for the text message. I told her I couldn't and I'd be standing there waiting for my text message and which she replied with an eyeroll and a click of her tongue. The woman who was in charge of taking people in came out and came over to me and said "Sorry, pressed it too early, there's no table for you, go sit down and you'll get another text message." I explained that the nearest comfortable spot was in one of the towers, and I walk slow due to my handicap. She knocked her head back, groaned and then shook her head. They had originally told me an hour and a half, it was a good amount over before I was seated. My Skipper was Skipper Nathan. He was so busy telling people bad Jungle Cruise jokes, that it took him forever to get my food, drinks and hell, even soy sauce. I park at the Disneyland Hotel (which btw, the valet was amazing as always!) and only have a three hour window. Went well over my time. Trader Sam's usually takes about two hours (including the wait to be seated), this trip took over three hours. I explained it to Nathan that I was on a bit of time crunch, especially with the mess out there. His repsonse? "Oh no! You should have listened to them!" I had thirty minutes to eat and drink. I asked for my validation and the bill, neither of which I got in a timely manner. So for those who like tiki bars, I'm afraid to say this: Trader Sam's is going the way of the rest of Disneyland, the Cast Members no longer care, show goes out of the window, no more magic. I would suggest checking out Strong Water in the Packing District or (a bit further away), Stowaway. Both amazing tiki bars and you'll be treated leaps and bounds better.

Yelp
I have mixed feelings about Trader Sam's Tiki Bar at Disneyland Resort. The drinks are pricey--ranging from $18-22--and while they're not bad, they're often just fine, with a few misses here and there. Honestly, if you're not a big Disney fan, the drinks probably won't feel worth the price. That said, I keep coming back because the atmosphere is fantastic! The interactivity of the bar and the overall fun vibe make it a unique experience, and it's a blast every time. But getting a reservation? Nearly impossible. You have to plan it down to the minute--literally calculating 60 days in advance and refreshing the My Disney experience app at 6 AM, because only reservations guarantee a seat inside. If you don't get a reservation, you're relying on some serious luck because sitting at their outside patio just doesn't hit the same. But as a huge Disney fan, here I am--constantly checking for reservations anyway, because despite everything, the magic of the place keeps drawing me back. Overall: 4-stars. It's a great place, especially for Disney fans, but has a few drawbacks.

Yelp
Maybe just me, but I LOOOOOOVE an interactive bar show! Order Shipwreck, Krakatoa, or Uh - OA! drinks and the bartenders / "traders" come alive, as does the bar, with flashing lights, storms and "rain showers" - YES! Interior "rain showers". Then laugh when the next group moves in and asked if the bar can be '...wiped down because it feels really messy.' LOL! My personal faves are Karakatoa & Oh-OA! (for the shows $ taste) & Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room (those who love the legendary Tiki Room at Disneyland get it) cuz it's fun to order and is a refreshing pineapple beverage. Maddy and Shayne have been my favorite Traders so far, but Jenny is working her way into my heart. Does this mean I'm a regular at this Disneyland tourist trap?!? No, no, no ..... (slyly: not nearly as much as I'd like to be!). Cheers! "CC"

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to come for a drink and some lunch. The food is great and very filling. The drinks are excellent and part of the experience. You can also buy the drinks with these collectible cups. The service has always been great when I've been here. They are helpful to accommodate disabilities. They also ask about any food allergies. The ambiance is definitely part of the experience and a fun one to experience at that. Especially if you are seated inside the bar where the magic really happens. Highly recommend coming here at least once.

Yelp
If you can't get reservation like I do, what I did is to walk in and put your name on the wait list for indoor experience . The host said wait time is 90 mnts around 3 pm on the weekday. 40 mnts later I already got the text that said our table is ready. Sat at bar, the drink menu is exactly the same with the outdoor bar (Tangaroa Terrace) with no price stated for the tiki drink. Most of the drink are classic Mai tai drinks. I ordered zombie and Mai tai. The bartender asked if I want to buy the zombie's mug (additional $30) that served with the drink. The answer is yes. Both drinks not overly sweet and quite balanced. As usual since its Disney bar, the bartender created fun and alive environment to the patrons.

Yelp
Trader Sam's is a wonderful combination of Disney magic and tiki bar. I want to preface I come here for the vibes and not to get wasted. Food/drinks: 4/5 We ordered the Angolada, Safari Swizzle, and fried string beans. The drinks were pretty and picturesque. They tasted pretty sweet, but definitely not strong. The string beans sounded really good on the menu, but they were not the best. They string beans were a bit dry and the lacked flavor. The sauce that came with the order was very bland. But again, we were mainly here for the vibes, not the food or drinks. Ambiance: 5/5 We got seated at a table inside. It was nicely decorated and the serves would make jokes whenever someone ordered their specialty drinks. The lightning and thunder were a nice touch. I would definitely come back, but ask for a table outside. From what we saw, the outside portion looks a lot more relaxing island by the beach feel. Service: 5/5 We came on a Saturday night and the wait was only around 30 minutes. It was kind of funny kind of sad because they told us our table would be ready in about an hour, so we got in line to go through security into Downtown Disney. The line was really long and as soon as we passed security, I received a text saying my table was ready. Parking: 5/5 If you're going to Trader Sam's, park in their Disney Hotel parking lot and not Downtown Disney's Parking Lot. They cannot validate for Downtown Disney. Fortunately, our server said we could try the Trading Post, which we did, and they helped us validate.

Yelp
Trader Sam's is a fun Disney experience that has stayed true to its roots. We went for a Downtown Disney experience and took a break from the parks. You go here for the drinks and you also won't go wrong with the food. My drink was stiff and took off some edge. Pups platter is a great tasting of the dishes you may have wanted to get. Wait staff are attentive and kept my water glass icy and full. The bar is fun and is a show unto itself. The Hawaiian theme is full on and the volcano and storm shows are fun throughout the experience. You will be hard pressed not to have fun.

Yelp
This place has such a great vibe! I would definitely recommend trying to get a seat inside because every once in a while they do a little special skit for you! If you can get a reservation online definitely do it because this place is very popular and the wait can be a while. The drinks are very delicious, just a little upsetting there are no prices next to them. The tiki tiki tiki rum was 18 and the safari swizzle was 17. Our waitress also let us know safari swizzle was one of the stronger drinks on the menu. The pu pu platter was a great sharing appetizer for two I just wish it came with something else besides the Mac. The only downside is they do not validate for downtown Disney parking because they technically are not part of downtown Disney!

Yelp
If you're looking for a little slice of paradise tucked away in Disneyland, Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar is an absolute must-visit! From the moment you step inside, you're transported to a tropical hideaway full of fun, themed surprises and amazing vibes. The drinks here are as creative as they are delicious--each one comes with its own flair, and sometimes the entire bar gets in on the fun with lights, sounds, and special effects. It's like a mini show with your cocktail! Whether you go for the classic Nautilus or the ever-popular Uh-Oa!, you're in for a treat. The atmosphere is incredible, with so many quirky details to take in. It's cozy, lively, and feels like an escape from the hustle of the parks. Plus, the cast members here are so fun and energetic--they really make the experience special. Pro tip: Try to grab a seat inside for the full enchanted experience, but the outdoor patio is a great option too if you want a more laid-back vibe. Trader Sam's is the perfect spot to unwind, sip on a fun drink, and soak in the Disney magic. It's a hidden gem that never disappoints!

Yelp
Fun experience here. They are located in the Disney hotel. Some of the drinks come with theatrics. You might even get sprayed with a bit of water! Great vibes and a nice place to grab a drink.

Yelp
Trader Sam's was one of those places I was afraid of would be too gimmicky and have decent food with ok cocktails... to my delight... they were more than what I expected. The vibe if this place was just so much fun... I enjoyed every little bit from its tiki theme to all the humor and lore behind the restaurant. Be sure to make a reservation... lol we didn't,but I think we got lucky because it was raining and they were not very busy. They told us it would be an hour and 30 buuut it really was only 30 min. But again .. it was raining, lol. The service was amazing.fun, humorous, and an experience. They have these moments where they shout and announce a drink or events, and it's so much fun. Our host was sweet and full of character I could not stop wanting cocktails.... their cups are sooooo worth it. lol, they are so unique.and the drinks were actually really good. As for the food, the dumpling and the wings were delicious... I preferred the wings, but you could not go wrong. Me and my partner got the burger, and it was delicious, but I do wish they would offer a med rare option.... it seems they only cook it one way, and it could have used a little more salt and pepper on the pattie. One of my friends got the Romen and loved it, and the broth was delicious!!! Overall, the experience was amazing... I loved the theme and service. ALSO if your a pass holder... you do get a discount. Just don't be rude like your owed something.... I've met some entitled pass holders..... if you're one just stay away lol See ya again trader sam!!!

Yelp
I really enjoy visiting Trader Sam's whenever I am at Disneyland. I have been coming to this bar for many years and have seen the various improvements that have been made to enhance the experience due to its ever-growing popularity. There is now a full bar on the patio that serves the same food and drinks. This helps make service much faster! When I first started coming here, there were only a handful of select items available on the food menu, such as pizza and burgers. But, when I visited last night, I noticed that they have added more dishes such as gyozas, poke bowls, and ramen. When I am able to get seating inside, I love ordering anything that triggers the interactive parts of the inside bar, such as the Shipwreck on the Rocks, Oh-oa!, and Krakatoa Punch. I would not recommend coming during peak hours because wait times can be upwards of 2 hours.

Yelp
The ambiance here is very nice with the decorations and the fire outside. Was able to get seated fairly quickly on a Saturday night without reservations. Just be aware that this location is not part of the validation for the downtown Disney parking because it is part of the hotels. Tiki x 5 rum- 4/5: This drink was unique because it had a creamy taste. The coconut flavor really stood out to me and it was really sweet. La Casita- 4/5: This drink was fruity and sweet but not as sweet as the Tiki Rum. The alcohol taste was more apparent in this one.

Yelp
Great assortment and friendly staff (Devin was the best). New in the neighborhood so this will be our new go to.

Yelp
With all the positive yelp reviews, sadly, I had high expectation. Our experience was disappointing. The food was alright. The ambiance was good.. however the customer service wasn't great. 4 out of the 5 staff we encountered wasn't friendly and didn't seem too happy to be there. The encounter with each staff from when we placed our name on the list, to getting seated, to ordering our food, was quite rude. Sad to say it was a one time experience.

Yelp
Getting a reservation--especially on a date and time that works for you--is borderline impossible. You have to book on Disney's website and you either need to book 30 or 60 days in advance--I can't recall. I literally stayed up until midnight so I could book my preferred date as soon as I could and even then, I didn't get the time I wanted. They have a large seating area outside, for walk-ins, but all the fun happens inside. Sure, you can get the same drinks and mediocre food outside but you want to be inside. For me, I would never sit outside unless I desperately needed a tiki drink. I didn't order food on my recent visit because everyone agrees the food is mediocre and overpriced. We can all get better food anywhere else. The tiki drinks are legitimately good. They are not super strong but they are not watered down, either. They look good and they taste good. On this visit, they had plenty of souvenir mugs for sale. They are not cheap but they are pretty cool. The have a few mocktails which are also very good. You can also order "virgin" Pina Coladas and such. Remember, the place is friendly before 8:00 p.m. The decor inside is terrific and both kids and adults will enjoy the experience when the volcano erupts. The bartenders make sure to spray everyone with water and it's a fun time.

Yelp
So I've been here a few times before the pandemic and finally went back yesterday. I definitely have to say that the vibe and the quality has changed. First I was told 35 minute wait to be seated outside and then I was asking hey how about if we want to go sit inside then she said we don't know and then for everything it's 55-minute wait because I asked for that. Which didn't make sense... Because she was still going to seed us outside. And when I walked away I'm like so it's 55 for outside now... How are you going from 35 to 55 in the same conversation for outside!?!? The food is at par, I'm not impressed with it much with the price that you're paying. The cake was good though. However, the tiki drinks are pretty good! So just go for drinks and not food.

Yelp
The tiki drinks are always nice and fun with the pirahna pool being my go to with a bright blue and red Pina Colada style sweet drink! The poke was very nice with a lot of ingredients on top of the bed of rice. The poutine was the furthest thing from a poutine with the fries being nice but overpowered melted nacho cheese making any other flavor hard to taste.
