"Trailblazer Tavern, the Hawaiian restaurant that opened at the end of 2018. It’s a Michael Mina restaurant looking out over the lobby, combining a Hawaiian indoor-outdoor vibe with Salesforce’s national parks theme." - Becky Duffett

"Trailblazer Tavern is inside Salesforce East, and despite it’s tropical theme, you can’t escape the feeling that you’re eating in the lobby of an office building. Theme aside, the Hawaiian food here is good - from the Spam musubi to their take on porchetta with kalua pork, taro leaves, and lomi tomato. If you work in SoMa, they have an afterwork Happy Hour from 3pm to 6pm with things like the musubi, dungeness crab lumpia, and tropical cocktails." - Will Kamensky

"Michael Mina’s enormous Hawaiian restaurant gives a big platform to Hawaiian chefs Michelle Karr-Ueoka and Wade Ueoka, who serve contemporary spins on Hawai‘i dishes like Dungeness crab lumpia, deconstructued Spam musubi, mochi-crusted opah, and porchetta lau lau. Located inside the Salesforce East building, Trailblazer also features a hoppin’ bar." - Janelle Bitker

"Trailblazer Tavern is a large and ambitious restaurant in downtown San Francisco, offering Hawaiian comfort food from chefs Michelle Karr-Ueoka and Wade Ueoka. The venue includes mezzanine seating, a spacious dining room and bar, private dining rooms, and an outdoor patio. Designed by Bishop Pass, it combines Hawaiian elements with a nod to Salesforce’s national park theme. The menu features Hawaiian iconic dishes like kalua pig, lau lau, and a Hawaiian plate lunch sandwich, along with desserts like coffee and cream shave ice and tropical creme brulee. The drink menu features tropical influences, bourbon, Japanese whisky, and a 100-bottle wine list by Rajat Parr." - Ellen Fort

Great space inside the Salesforce building and they have an area that’s well-lit one level above the building’s lobby and a bar area that’s dimmer. Food is tasty and the menu is great for sharing. The music/dj gets a little loud at times. Nice and strong cocktail. Good service.

Great service and great food! They are very accommodating. What more could you ask for? All their food was good. My favorite appetizer was the arancini. The sauce made it! My favorite entree was their rib eye. Flavorful and perfectly cooked, medium rare! Definitely a must try!

Came here for the SF restaurant week menu. The dinner was excellent. The fish portion was tiny in comparison to the chicken dish. We both loved the SPAM musubi. The chef was nice enough to comp us a shave ice for our LO. Great meal and will be coming back for that SPAM 👍

I came at 5:30 on a Thursday (1/31/19) with a reservation and was seated in the main dining area (there is also the bar, which was packed with a happy hour crowd, and a small patio). It's in an open corner on the 2nd story of a Salesforce building and while the dining area has some decoration, it honestly feels very much like you're dining in a fancy office building. It's not in any way "cozy", and feels a little bare or cookie cutter to me. There are a ton of staff milling about, and service is generally good, but your server can still bottleneck you a bit. That being said there were multiple managers floating around on my visit, and actually stepping in to handle things like bringing drinks, etc. I appreciated that they were hands-on, but I found the sheer number of staff and especially multiple managers to be a little smothering. Again, service was *good*, I just prefer it to be a little more understated. I got 3 cocktails: - Resting Beach Face is very strawberry-focused, despite that being near the end of the list of ingredients. It's not bad, just tart-sweet, fruity, and lacking much to make it interesting. The paper straw didn't work well with the crushed ice, either. - Peepyopee was by far my favorite, also a bit sweet but with a nice brightness from the plum wine and a creamy mouth feel perhaps from the avocado washed gin, along with a hint of brine from the kombu vermouth. Spirit-forward but not too strong, and definitely unique as well as tasty. - Nobody Touches the Mango, which tasted a lot like mixing mango juice and green curry. Which is to say... not greater than the sum of its parts, and not that interesting or successful to me. It wasn't bad, really, just not great. For food: - Spam Musubi, which was an interesting take and had some perfectly cooked little quail eggs, but I wanted a bit more crisp from the mochi crust. I found the flavor to be an only semi-successful sweet-savory mix, quite salty, but also with some kind of sweet-ish sauce and a paste (neither listed on the menu as far as I saw). I wasn't in love with this and wouldn't get it again, though it's not badly done, just not my taste, I think. - Huli Huli Chicken was honestly a bit of a disappointment. The chicken was moist and tender, but otherwise lacking in much flavor. Served over a bed of very simply prepared Chinese broccoli, with some slightly-too-chewy rice cakes (the Chinese-style tube-shaped ones, in case you were expecting an actual "cake"), and a rather boring sauce, again sweet-savory to me. This just seemed like such a simplistic and uninspired dish. None of the elements stood out here besides the well-cooked chicken, and honestly that's bare minimum for a Michael Mina establishment. - To finish they were nice enough to randomly bring me one of the lunch menu desserts to try, a Strawberry-Hibiscus Shave Ice, which I honestly quite liked, even more so than the actual dessert that came with the Restaurant Week menu. This was tart-sweet in a good way, with some lovely textural elements, and just the right portion size. - The Coffee & Cream Shave Ice was quite similar in basic concept, which is fine given they're on separate menus and don't overlap. But I found the coffee one to be a bit more one-note, and while it had the gelees in it with more texture, they were a bit bland and a tad too firm, so it didn't really come together for me. It was a larger portion as well, bigger than I thought it needed to be (though good to share, not like it was huuuge). So overall I found the food to be a bit of a miss, unfortunately. Cocktails were hit and miss as well, but there was at least one standout. I'm really not sure if I'll return, at least for a while. Maybe with time they'll polish things up, put a little more variety in the cocktail menu, and the service will feel more smooth, with less oversight needed from managers. But it will be harder to address the overall atmosphere issue given the space they have, I think.

Great option for happy hour. The prices are what you would expect for a high end restaurant in the Salesforce Tower. I thought the food was really good. I LOVED the uni & butterfish arancini, tuna poke, octopus, and the wine list in general. We had 3 desserts and they were fabulous! Loved the chocolate cake, strawberry shaved ice and this mango/ passionfruit parfait thing. I think the pricing for happy hour is good. Very popular spot for the employees so get there early.

Fun Hawaiian theme restaurant! Love/Absolutely Must have = Appetizers/Sides= Spam Musubi, Crab Lumpia, Unagi Arancini, Ahi Nachos, Yaki Onigiri, and the Heart of Palm Sunomono (amazing Salad!) Entree= Miso Honey glazed Butterfish, Mochi-crusted Monchong. The 4 of us were not impressed/did not care for the Huli-Huli Chicken, even though it was highly recommended by 2 servers. .... and of course their delicious unique desserts! Definitely will come back!

If you like the foods of Hawaii, you need to eat here! All the memorable Hawaiian flavors, presented in a new and delicious way! Restaurant and bar is on the 2nd floor, with a very open downtown view. Great menu, wonderful drinks, and friendly Aloha service. Not your typical home town plate lunch, but something much more memorable. Onolicious grinds! 😉 Street parking, short walk from Embarcadero BART.

Pretty good happy hour. The restaurant is inside one of the salesforce buildings. Cocktails are anywhere from $14 to $18. Hit or miss. Martini is solid. Pass on the coconut ice cube one, supposed to be like an old fashioned but it’s a bit light to me. Tom Selleck drink is a fun one.
