The 20 Best Restaurants In Germantown & Mount Airy

"To remix the words of Philly legend Allen Iverson: “We’re talking pasta.” Specifically, the decadent ravioli from Trattoria Moma, which is stuffed with wild mushrooms and coated in a light cream sauce that has sweet but subtle garlic flavor. The only way A.I. will forgive us for changing his famous quote (after somehow reading this) is if we treat him to a plate, plus one of everything from the rest of the classic Italian menu inside the cozy restaurant." - candis mclean

Trattoria Moma Review - Mt. Airy - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"To remix the words of Philly legend Allen Iverson, “We’re talking pasta.” Specifically the amazing ravioli from Trattoria Moma, which is stuffed with wild mushrooms and swimming in a light cream sauce that has some sweet but subtle garlic flavor going on. One of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to in the area. Reminds me of the trattorias I went to in Rome! Staff are so nice and welcoming too.

I dined at Trattoria Moma yesterday evening with a friend for her birthday celebration. Everything was delicious and the service was impeccable. We ordered the meat and cheese appetizer, the bucatini cacio e pepe, wild mushroom ravioli, and mixed veggies on the side. If only we had room left for dessert! I will definitely be back the next time I feel a hankering for delicious, authentic Italian food.

Trattoria Moma is a gem! It is one of the best places to eat in the area. Their waitstaff is knowledgeable, patient and observant. We were able to take advantage of the 4 course meal. It allowed us to enjoy an increadible dinner at a wonderful price point. This quaint restaurant extends its reach with outdoor seating adjacent to the building. The bread, perfect. The gluten free pasta options, perfect and the Osso Buco, amazing. Back again and the new artichoke dish is FANTASTIC!! Layered with goat cheese and carefully constructed. It looks as beautiful as it tastes.

Google
Trattoria MOMa never ever disappointed. They are always reinventing themselves ! With freshly painted walls new seats that are comfy and some artwork that is for sale is just the beginning. The mushroom soup I had yesterday was incredible. I ordered the wild boar special and almost ate the bone it was just that good. The mrs. Had to stop me so I can have some left over for later. The polenta was super creamy and complimented my dish just as much as the vegetables carrots were snappy and sweet. The sauces were well made you can tell this thing was cooking for hours. I mopped the plate several times, I asked the chef for a little more sauce and he easily made that happen. The swordfish special was equally as good she ate most of it. The portions are great for the price it’s a great deal. So if you want to treat yourself tonight make a reservation the place gets packed fast. You can’t go wrong with this place. Jenny provides impeccable service as well!!! Thanks team trattoria MOMa

Google
It was the curb appeal of this adorable trattoria that led me to look into coming here. Then the unsolicited rave review from a stranger at a nearby bar clinched it for me and we decided to try it. Very glad we did because it was a wonderful meal topped off with homemade limoncello and light creamy tiramisu. Will be back for sure.

We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, delicious dishes, and convenient free parking on Saturday! The BYOB option is great.

Google
Of the several times I've been to this place, last night's was the only bad experience. It's not their fault, really, that our reserved table wasn't ready when we arrived. Once we were seated service was quite slow, and we waited a half hour for our first food items to come out. The wild mushroom soup was good. Our friend had a shrimp appetizer she liked very much. I had the appetizer of eggplant rollatini for my main dish and it was surprisingly bland. There was no offer of cheese to top it and flagging down servers wasn't easy. My partner's pistachio-crusted tuna didn't thrill him, and he left a fair amount on the plate (really unusual for him). He questioned the quality of the tuna. At the end of our meal, as my partner was stealing what was left of my water, we realized that other tables received carafes of water and we never did. Our biggest problem, though, was the noise level. It's a small place, and Saturday night may not be a night that works for us because there was such a racket that conversation was really difficult and exhausting.

While driving from Chicago to New York, we stumbled upon this incredible Italian restaurant in Philadelphia—and what a find it was! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and an inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The food was absolutely phenomenal. We ordered a variety of dishes, and every single one was bursting with authentic Italian flavors. The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the sauces were rich and flavorful, clearly made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The portion sizes were generous, leaving us both satisfied and eager to come back. The service was top-notch, with the staff going out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. We felt like we were being treated to a true Italian dining experience, right in the heart of Philadelphia. If you're ever passing through Philly, do yourself a favor and make a stop here. This place was the culinary highlight of our road trip, and we can't wait to return!

Yelp
We have not had dinner here since the pandemic started, but it is still wonderful. The food is still great, even though there is a different chef. Prices are extremely reasonable, especially since it is BYOB. By the time we left, almost every table was taken, which was very impressive on a hellish hot Tuesday in mid-July. Gnocchi with crabmeat, eggplant rollatini, arugula salad, a swordfish special and desserts were all delicious!. Our server, Ardor, from Albania, was delightful and efficient. You can park in the Fit Life parking lot right across the street. Highly recommended!

Yelp
This was a very solid choice pre theater. Very small and got very busy, but food was good. Especially liked the Brussel sprouts w truffle honey mustard

Yelp
This byob has delicious food and a charming atmosphere and excellent service. I had gnocchi with crabmeat and vodka sauce. Also eggplant rollatini. My friend had something equally delicious with shrimp and artichokes. And we shared arugula salad. Definitely want to return.

Yelp
I went here when they first opened and had a pleasant time (this was years ago). It would seem to be a cute neighborhood venue, BYOB, nice glasses etc. That being said the food was very mediocre at best if not reminiscent of jarred sauces. The prosciutto is dry thick (the cut is too thick) and old. The "mozzarella di bufala" is of very questionable quality and tastes more like a regular burrata. If it's imported from Italy they're getting a horrible deal. The Arancini seemed to be precooked and also frozen. Pasta was definitely not cooked in salted water and I think the "fresh pasta" is actually frozen. My wife go the "flambé dish". Not only was the pasta cold the whole experience was revolting. The crusted old half wheel of parmigiano was supposedly lit on fire with something. The pasta was already sauced, and mixing into the cold crusted cheese that did nothing. The dish was disgusting. I don't think that wheel of cheese would pass a proper food safety inspection. It is a shame that the food changed so much since they first opened. The last few things I took issue with were service related. When we were sat down to eat we were told that we had a time window of an hour and a half due to the fact the table was booked later on. That's not very professional. We arrived on-time to our reservation. I would not consider this place at all authentic Italian nor would I recommend the food here.

Conrad P.

Yelp
We brought a large group for a set dinner. Every course was excellent. Chicken Sausage with cannellini beans and broccoli rabe had depth of flavor and a nice range of textures. Calamari was tender yet crisp. Gnocchi had a distinctive sauce, and the crusted salmon was perfectly cooked. I skipped dessert but my friends devoured it happily. The service was great especially considering the size of the party and we found it easy to park. The dining room was decorated with still life paintings of food and they were gorgeous. The restrooms were clean and well stocked. La Trattoria hit the mark in every respect!

June P.

Yelp
Cute restaurant. Made it there on time for my reservation and was asked to wait while there was an open table. We were eventually seated there. Just odd. Food was decent but prob won't return.

Yelp
Their Paccheri was solid handmade pasta. Chewy and robust. Intelligent use of butter, acid, and herbs in the vodka sauce. Portion was reasonable for the price. Brussel sprouts were well executed: crisp on the outside, smoky, and tender but not mushy on the bite. The truffle vinaigrette paired well bringing a sharpness, acidity, and Miami complexity. I really enjoyed the meal.

Yelp
This is such a neighborhood treasure - great food, warm and inviting space, and friendly, attentive staff. Plus a BYOB! We just went back on a chilly winter night and had a delicious meal. We got one of their last reservations, and it's no wonder they have such a loyal, repeat-customer following. It's reliably good. The salads, appetizers, home-made pastas and fish entrees/specials are all freshly made and it's such a great place for a relaxing, enjoyable meal.

Yelp
Food was minimal; my 4 bites of veal were paper thin and chewy. I had to share my 1/2 cup of pasta with my daughter because she only had 2 bites of something I didn't recognize. I had used the website to make this reservation for 3 to celebrate my 73rd birthday. After having received confirmations and reminders, the waitress had no record of it. Five mature gentlemen were sitting behind us, and were so loud that we could not hear each other! Another party was moved farther away, but that option was not given to us. How disappointing my 73rd birthday turned out to be! A return visit is doubtful.

Chris M.

Yelp
Great food and portions. Dining room is well decorated and clean. Staff was very good.

Yelp
Honestly was excited about this restaurant because it was one of the few in the area with more than a 2-3.8 star rating and the place was pretty nice looking especially the outside, but i was truthfully disappointed. First off the food was mediocre, lacked a lot of flavor and tasted very underseasoned, and in terms of the service we were sittimg outside and just felt almost completely ignored at times. There would be full 15 minute waits without seeing any member of staff, and the food took an hour to come out. Now as someone who has worked in the restaurant industry for a while I can understand that they were packed the night i was there but any good restaurant should know that if their kitchen is slow they need to entertain their customers somehow whether it be just keeping water glasses full or giving updates on the food. I had to get up from my seat 3 different times to ask for any kind of service. So overall i think this restaurant could have done way better and i'm willing to cut a little slack because they were busy and I understand but it was thoroughly underwhelming in most aspects.

Yelp
Wonderful food, great service!! Great variety of things. Always have interesting specials. It is a gem!

Yelp
Food was very good and I would love to give it a 5. I don't do reviews so before I say anything negative, I would like this establishment to contact me regarding my service on Saturday night. My reservation was under Barbara. Thank you! After speaking with the owner/chef, we resolved my issue regarding the service. I will be giving this place a second chance as the food was very delicious and it's a quaint little place probably better for date nights or smaller parties.

Matthew J.

Yelp
We love this place. The food is always good, it has a cozy interior dining room and a nice outdoor patio dining space. The staff and service have been great every time. It's also within walking distance of our home, so the convenience can't be beat. Prices are reasonable given the quality and good experience.

Yelp
Small (reservations a must) quiet neighborhood gem perfect for a date-night, but not for a group - too tight. Dined there with 5 friends. We enjoyed our perfectly cooked entrees prepared with the freshest of ingredients and beautifully presented. Great service.

Yelp
I want to love this place because it is walking distance from my house, and I love Italian food. My experience has fallen short it some ways. I feel I have to hold this restaurant to a higher standard because it is fairly expensive-- easy to drop $150 for a party of two. Both my date and I found our pasta dishes to be very rich but lacking balance in the flavor-- very fatty sauces that needed more salt and/or acid to register fully on the palate. The tomato was hardly present as a flavor in the bolognese, and the mushroom wine sauce was bland and starchy. There is no seasoning provided at the tables, and I'd feel rude asking for them. Honestly, I've never been at an upscale Italian restaurant and thought "I'd rather take this home and doctor up the leftovers than finish it here." It hurt this foodie to be let down by pasta, an indulgence I treasure only occasionally. The pasta itself was of good quality and satisfying preparation; it's the sauces that were lacking. In the future, I may focus more on the antipasta and the secondi. We enjoyed the octopus and the scallop preparation very much. Another part of the experience is the lighting. We were seated in front of a painting, and the bright tracklight aimed directly at it really detracted from the feeling of comfort or semi-intimacy you want on a date night. I think the space has the potential to be very atmospheric, but they could really use help with the lighting. Indirect is best! All in all, I'll probably be back because I am a captive audience here in Mt Airy, and I want to support local businesses. There was lots on the secondi list I'd like to try. But for special occasion pasta, I'll make the trip to center city.

Yelp
Holy cow what a night. We chose Trattoria Moma for our FIRST night out after our son was born due to its reputation and (let's be honest) proximity to our house so we could run back if anything went wrong but when we walked around the side yard of the restaurant and pulled up our outdoor seats I feel like we were transported to a destination. All of the food was exquisite and we were truly taken care of throughout the night even with our late 8:30 reservation. I cant wait to come back for another date night soon!
google avatar

David W.

Yelp
We love this place - very down-home Italian, unpretentious, excellent food, AND very reasonably priced (read: this is not your Center City pricing). BYOB. A favorite for us is the Mushroom Ravioli, or try the Fettucine Moma - note the house-made pasta, too, a really nice aspect of dining here. Interesting specials change frequently. Brussels Sprouts side dish, very good. Everything fresh - thus an excellent arugula salad. I suggest reservations, as the place is fairly small, and it does fill up, even on weekdays. A stone's throw from the Quintessence Theater on Germantown Avenue.

Jim R.

Yelp
Made a reservation for family night with clients. Received a confirmation email which we confirmed yes. Got there 10 minutes early and the restaurant was CLOSED. Extremely unprofessional.

Megan M.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place. I enjoyed my salad (it was the one with the mozzarella). My sister ordered the potato leek soup with crab. It looked more like split pea soup and was bland. I ordered the spaghetti ink pasta dish. It was just ok. The sauce was bland and the crab and squid was pretty tasteless. My Mom and sister said their gnocchi was over cooked and the chicken sausage was bland. I tasted it and I agreed. I'd try this place again, but the food just needs more flavor. Edit: This owner is such a weirdo lol. Don't be mad at me because you're yet another mediocre ethnic restaurant in Mt. Airy. Learn how to properly season food. Oh and work on your written communication before attempting to insult a customer.

John R.

Yelp
Comfortable, relaxed, friendly, interesting menu and well prepared meals. A great neighborhood secret.

Paul S.

Yelp
We had a great dinner, very generous portions, service was fun, dining room is pretty tight so you're kind of trying to talk over conversations around you. Limenchello at the end of our meal was a nice and unexpected touch.
google avatar

Julie P.

Yelp
My first visit to Trattoria Moma and it was spectacular. Arugula salad (truffle dressing, caramelized, chunks of parm cheese) was lovely, the homemade mushroom ravioli absolutely melted in my mouth, and the roasted cauliflower was wonderful. We topped off our dinner with a lemon sorbet (served frozen inside of a lemon)....what more could you ask for? Bring your own wine and make a reservation. It's a sweet, quaint spot that was packed to the gills on Saturday night. (kisses fingertips) Yum!

Yelp
I think one of the best off-the-general-radar restaurants in all of Philadelphia is Trattoria Moma in Mount Airy. This cozy and warm neighborhood gem is a wonderful eatery that so many people don't even know about. And their Sunday and Tuesday evening four-course dining specials are one of the best values in fine dining I've come across in Philly. If you like Northern Italian food as I do, you're in for a treat at Trattoria Moma. This is a BYOB which reduces costs right off the bat and their bread course and spreads are a great way to begin the meal. The salads are good here but an amazing appetizer is the carciofo ripieno. The artichoke and crabmeat melt in your mouth. My primi dish of porcini risotto was perfection - totally. My friend loved his mushroom ravioli. And the love continued with the secondi dishes. The veal medallions were reported to me as tender and flavorful and I loved my anatra (roast leg of duck) served with dried cherries, truffle polenta and roasted Brussels sprouts. The four-course feast closed with a tasty tiramisu and cannoli. Service was friendly and fine and the noise level was just right - even with every table occupied - to allow for conversation. Owner chef Bledar Istrefi has a winner in Trattoria Moma. And now you know about it too!

Yelp
I was looking for a restaurant not too far from home, not too noisy, with good food. Trattoria Moma was perfect! Out with a good friend and we had a lot of catching up to do, so wanted a place we could talk. Trattoria Moma is a small, intimate Italian restaurant located in East Mt. Airy with street parking. It doesn't take much for it to get crowded so you should definitely make reservations. We went on a Sunday where they have a special 4 courses for $35, but to get the deal it's cash only. (This special is also on Tuesdays). We were greeted with a smile and seated right away. It's also a BYOB, and they put my wine on ice right away! The service was great! For starters they bring out warm bread and cannellini dip w/ olive oil. My friend decided on "Mozzarella di Buala" as her appetizer, "Melanzania Ripiena Eggplant " as her 2nd course. (She loves Eggplant). I decided on "Insalanta di Moma" (salad), Orecchie (pasta with chicken sausage) as my 2nd course. We both decided on the Lamb Shank over Risotto as the main course. I got the Tiramisu and she got a Cannoli for dessert. The food was great, I can tell the pasta is made from scratch. Each dish was delicious and flavorful. The reason they get 4 stars is because expect for the main course, the portions were very small. The Tiramisu was extremely small. I can understand not giving full portions for 4 courses but........two more spoonfulls please :/ This place is perfect for a date night! I still would definitely go back and recommend Trattoria Moma.

Yelp
I had a fantastic meal at Trattoria Moma. Service was exceptional. Very attentive, always a full glass of water. The food was so fresh. I've never even to Italy, but I could only imagine that this is what the food is going to be like. Homemade pasta, fresh seafood. What more could you want. I tried the octopus app and the squid ink pasta with seafood. Looking forward to my next visit.

Yelp
Great food, great service. The newly decorated inside is a nice change and a bit more quiet.

Yelp
Amazing food!!! Some people gave negative reviews for the decor, interior, and carpet, but they didn't bother me at all because of the quality of the food!!! The great quality of seafood, meat, and HOME-MADE pasta!!! My husband and I ordered 2 Appetizers, 2 pastas, and 1 dish of meat. We were so full after the pastas and couldn't finish the veal chop! We will go back again and recommend this restaurant!!

Hillary K.

Yelp
Love the quaint BYOB place. Pasta is amazing. Service is good. They have a mix of experienced servers and not so much. But they all work as a team- so it's still very good service. They always have homemade pasta! It's a winner. Their dip for bread is a treat!
google avatar

Karen P.

Yelp
Ate here with my husband and son and girlfriend. Excellent food, pristine service. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Always the best. Appetizers are superb. Homemade pasta!! And he also makes a homemade gluten free one too! We can't say enough. It's a neighborhood gem. Owner also waits on customers and he is Always so friendly and great service. Love them all there. We can't stay away!!

Yelp
With a few minor adjustments, this place could be the perfect first date spot. Trattoria Moma is a small restaurant nestled on the cobblestone blocks of Germantown Ave in Philly. Quite different from Jersey suburbs, but if I had to compare, it's like downtown Morristown. I had a four course meal that had a lot of flavor. The menu is quite extensive. Whoever wrote the menu, big ups-- everything sounds amazing.. and my meal was very good. I chose the 4-course option- antipasti, primi, secondi, & dessert. 1. Arugula salad 2. Grilled eggplant 3. Branzino 4. Tirimisu Everything was cooked well, but we came right at dinner (5:00), and I feel like the prep was so on point that they were early. The plate was under temperature. If you know me, I need my food served hot off the stove! Easy fix! The reason I gave two stars was bc of the decor. The carpet must go! Someone from the restaurant says the carpet is there bc of noise. There's a professional flooring expert that can help with that! Small investment in the floors, alone would give the place everything it needed (& probably reduce cleaning costs). We were originally seated at 4-top. We chose to try a dimly lit 2-top in the corner, but again the floor, was not level. So, we moved back to our original seat. The paint and lighting needed touches, but it's bearable. Also, the crowd, 50+++ Love old people but I also like dining & seeing diversity. It's BYOB! And, if you're conscious of your diet or trying to stick to a meal plan the portions are perfect. I'd say try it as long as you're not trying to impress anyone

Angelique S.

Yelp
I like the food even though it's pricey. I enjoyed it better without the corkage fees.
google avatar

Chloe L.

Yelp
Food was delicious and service was great. We had the ossobuco and the red pepper pasta special. The octopus was extremely tender. Local gem !
google avatar

Jonathan D.

Yelp
Appetizer was crab stuffed in an artichoke, awful, inedible. Had one bite and shouldn't even have. Entree was old pasta and please do something about the staff. Rude. Manager comped the meal at least, thankfully, since we didn't eat any of it.
google avatar

Gayle P.

Yelp
I couldn't wait to try this neighborhood eatery! It was worth the wait! Our waitress was incredibly helpful. Everything she recommended was tasty! I had the mushroom ravioli. I wish the portion was larger because it was so great! I literally cleaned my plate. I also finished with the lemon sorbet. It was to die for! A great palate cleanser! I def recommend this place if you're looking for a local eat in Mt. Airy!

Yelp
We came on a Saturday night for a birthday celebration. This place did not disappoint! We started with Carciofo Ripieno (artichoke with jumbo crab meat, sundried tomatoes, bread crumbs, fresh herbs) and the Mozzarella di Bufala (fresh mozzarella, grilled eggplant over tomatoes, roasted peppers, basil oil, fig balsamic). They were both delicious albeit a bit tough to share. I liked the Mozzarella di Bufala the best- the eggplant was marinated beautifully. My parents both had the Spaghetti Adriatico (mussels, clams, jumbo shrimp, bay scallops & Italian zucchini with a choice of white, red or fra diavolo sauce). They said the seafood was cooked to perfection and the homemade pasta was al dente. I had the Orecchiette (home-made sweet fennel chicken sausage, broccoli rabe, cherry tomato). The chicken sausage was juicy with a slight sweetness, there was the perfect amount of rabe and tomato and sauce was garlicky and tangy. We grabbed a growler of beer from Earth Bread + Brewery across the street to enjoy with our meal- it was super convenient as we forgot to bring the wine! Overall this was a lovely, intimate setting to enjoy a birthday meal. Our servers were attentive and friendly and the food was reasonably priced. Great quality Italian!

Julie R.

Yelp
We started coming to Trattoria Moma in the Spring of 2023 and have been back several times since. The food is fresh and delicious. We love that the pastas are homemade. The dishes are inventive yet simple. A true gem. The service is also great, particularly Jenny. So glad we found this place... a new fave!!

Yelp
Had a spectacular meal here last night during their Sunday special--4 courses for $35, if you pay in cash. It's not like a chef's tasting menu where you are surprised by what comes out of the kitchen; you can choose all of your courses right off the menu. We went with: First course: cozze e vongole (mussels and clams) in a fra diavolo sauce, and an arugula salad with goat cheese. Both very tasty. Make sure you still have some of the bread they bring to the table or ask for more if you get the mussels--perfect for dipping. Second course: Truffle ravioli and Spaghetti Nero (squid ink pasta). All of the pasta here is housemade, and it's lovely. You can't go wrong with anything, but these two dishes were spectacular. The pasta Adriatico (like a pescatore) also looked amazing. Third course: Branzino and osso buco over risotto. I *loved* the branzio--they got a kind of char on it to make it slightly smokey. The osso buco was also very nice and reminded me the way my mother makes it. Dessert: cannoli and tiramisu, both very good. Service was attentive, friendly, and efficient. They opened up our wine for us (it's a BYOB) so we could get started on it promptly, and they brought out each course exactly when you would expect it. Great spot all around.

Peter A.

Yelp
Great place but the price point went up after the worst of the pandemic, just beyond my budget
google avatar

Rae M.

Yelp
Very low-key spot in the heart of Mt Airy. I ordered takeout during the coronavirus outbreak. Normally ordering food from a restaurant that is primarily a sit down restaurant can be a disappointment because you're missing out on the presentation and food quality often suffers from being packed in to-go boxes. Not the case here. I got (2) three-course specials for $25 a piece. Everything was beautifully prepared and "plated" in the to-go containers. The dressing on the arugula salad was delicious! I had the tilapia and my wife had the chicken for the main entrees. Both were wonderfully cooked and seasoned. The pasta course was also a delight. Can't wait to visit soon and sit down in their cozy establishment to enjoy a meal. Until then, I'll definitely be doing take out again.
google avatar

Jonathan M.

Yelp
We enjoyed our dinner here. The menu features unique offerings that you won't find in a family-style Italian restaurant. Expect a more intimate setting and an upscale cuisine that is great for a date night. The seafood special with red wine pasta, burrata appetizer special, and everything else was delicious! My one suggestion would be that the portions are a bit on the smaller side for some items. We didn't expect massive plates, but for the price the veal dish in particular, while tasty, we felt could have been a bit more generous.

Peter C.

Yelp
We had a wonderful meal here ruined by the pressure from waitstaff to eat quickly and leave. 3 times we were told we had 1.5 hours to eat. but we waited 10 minutes to get our table and another 10 to get our food. Pressure and repetitive rudeness! We won't eat here again ..
google avatar

Yelp
Well....where to begin? The louder than loud atmosphere? So loud that I could not hear my dinner companions at the small table. We had to scream at each other, and it was not out of anger, but because we could not hear each other or as it turns out, our pulses. The next issue is that we have been here now for OVER an hour and a half. We got apps, and based on these apps I think the food will be good. But I don't know. We sat down to a 7pm reservation and did not even receive bread for 45 MINUTES. I work in a restaurant and I think it is ridiculous how long this is taking. We're all in pretty good spirits but I don't know how long we can keep waiting. Time will tell. Probably won't be back though, which is a shame because all the reviews are amazing and we were all so excited. I do have to mention one more thing: the waitress only asked after we were all done how everything was (bad) and even noticed that a friend had hardly touched his food, and when he said he didn't want it boxed up, it was not asked if it was okay. Not cool.

Yelp
Very disrespectful. Booked on Open Table. My best friend and I know nothing about these people. They actually called to confim reservation at 337pm for a 630 reservation. Changed reservation to 7pm prior to call. Called back at 338 sharp this evening, got no answer. I drove 2 hours from upstate pa. I called to find out if they have byob because it is NOT advertised on Open Table (their choice). I had to stop and get wine. My best friend sat and waited for me. I walked in at 7:24 pm. We were asked to move tables because there was a party of 4 that came in. Huh? I HAVE NEVER BEEN ASKED TO MOVE MY SEAT IN MY LIFE. EVER!!! We declined and told them, when we move, we leave. The owner (sounded like voice on VoiceMail as well) came over and then asked us again could we move. He got rude saying we were late and he knew I called and he needed the table. What the hll. So my best friend and I took our belongings after being disrespected and left. This was AFTER his waitress opened my 110 dollar bottle of 1999 wine. She thought that would keep us there I guess. He was so disrespectful. Mind you, material we pulled up with 200k in car body...let alone what our pockets look like. My bf just lost her mom and dad and he is lucky we are sane!!! Very. So DO NOT EAT HERE. IT IS NOT WHAT YOU SAY, IT'S HOW YOU SAY IT AND HANDLE IT! 2. Answer you phone next time..3 NEED I GO ON? - A 3X CORPORATION OWNER (FL, NJ, PA)

Yelp
What a cozy little spot. It seems like ir probably doesn't seat more than 30 people, if that. They had one server, Nick, who was killing it with service! And everyone in the place was receiving the same quality service. We had the grilled octopus which for people for me who dont like seafood, is an excellent experiment in trying something different as it's not very fishy. The bread provided was just meh, and the gnocchi dish was delicious. The portions were just right. It wasn't too small like many restaurants, but didn't leave you hating yourself afterwards like many italian places. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
The food was well above average. The service was rock solid. The dining room needs a reboot. The carpet needs to go. Some fresh paint and simple design choices could easily elevate this restaurant to a "must-go" status.

Yelp
Food wonderful, try carciofo ripieno (artichoke stuffed with crab meat etc Very noisy on e.g. Sat night. Credit cards limit to two per table, so be warned if parties of six or more.

Yelp
One my absolute favorite Italian restaurants not just uptown but in Philly period. Everything is made fresh and in house and the pasta melts in your mouth! It's BYOB so I love that feature. So many restaurants have great wine lists but they're overpriced when you could buy the same bottle in a shop for half the price! It's very small and intimate and I recommend making a reservation. On Tuesdays they have a great 4 course menu for a fixed price which to me is a great intro to the restaurant and it's menu. Please go, I guarantee a wonderful experience.
