What do you think of when it comes to Italian food? Pizza or pasta? But this restaurant is way more than those. It brings a whole new understanding of what is Italian food with ingredients sourced from local farms and directly from Italy, freshly made in house. Their pasta is soft like marshmallow, and their pizza dough is crisp like cookies. And they taste like heaven, comforting, hearty and satisfying yet light and healthy. The interior design is very upscale in the dinner section. I highly recommend giving it a try!

The pizza was very good, I love the creamy sauce, but I was surprised that it was served cold, even the crust. The tempura shiitake was good too. The portions are on the smaller size. The service was a bit of a mess. While the waiters were all friendly and smiley, they would promptly disappear and take forever to take the order, bring the check, or do anything. One even said I could ask him for anything I needed, and when I tried to order from him said I had to wait for another waitress to come, and he didn't even bother to call her for me. Then they brought me someone else's pizza, only to pick it up later and take it to a different table. The atmosphere is really nice, with different "locations" that keep it very visually interesting.

Came here for dinner and can't wait come back again. We had the margherita pizza, local salad and the mushroom pasta. They also have to-go pasta and an deli for sandwiches. Good food. Need to come back to try more items.

Entire experience was fantastic. I would recommend anything with their tomato sauce. Their Focaccia Rossa and Paccheri Pomodora are two items I would get again. The mushroom pizza was bright and flavorful. Staff was very accommodating. Went with my wife and two-year-old. They provided us with a side a mushrooms just for the baby. Allowed us to walk around the restaurant freely while waiting for our food.

Cute chic place with a bakery as well as fresh pasta options. Went in to see some artist’s exhibit with lovely quotes about NYC on the map of Manhattan. Bought pickles vegs and French yogurt to go! Would love to come back here

Love here! Everything! Foods and coffee are really good, staffs are very kind and friendly! It was really hard to pick one or two pastries for today’s breakfast 😂 focaccia was very fluffy inside, nicely crispy rosemary on it. The fruit croissant was perfect !!! It was my second visiting (I couldn’t try any foods at first time visiting because I was full😅) but already want to come here everyday!! buono！🫶

Super cute dining or coffee spot that reminds me of a mini eataly! When you first walk in there are counters with pastries and sandwiches and tables where you can grab coffee and chill, saw some people working etc. Further in the space they have tables set aside for dining. I made a reservation for 3 for brunch this past Saturday. They had a separate brunch menu with more classic brunch dishes like Benedict's and pancakes, but also some paninis and pastas. The entire restaurant is pescatarian too! We got the Pappardelle Tuna Bolognese, Smoked Salmon Toast, Fried Calamari, and a Cornetto (Italian croissant). The papardelle was my favorite with toothy fresh pasta and a unique sauce- the tuna provides an interesting and tasty dimension of flavor to the bolognese. The smoked salmon on the toast was fantastic- so fresh! The calamari was good too, and the cornetto had a slight lemony/sugar taste but was also delicious! I also got the Eliot Elixir (a spritz w rose, maraschino liquor, and grapefruit) which was a gorgeous pink shade and tasted so citrusy and refreshing. Service was fine, they can get pretty busy/hard to flag down, but the food comes out quickly and they bring water bottle refills.

A charming cafe by day (until 6PM) where you can enjoy a $4 coffee with oat or almond milk. THIS is just what the neighborhood needed; a charming spot to gather after social distancing for so long. The people creating the pasta are all from Spanish-speaking countries...so your pasta has a lot of SABOR y AMOR to it. I like it; an Italian café, where you can speak Italian or Spanish to the staff, if that's not the epitome of New York, I don't know what is! They have tables for 2-4 people outside, it is absolutely lovely! I think that the neighborhood locals will really come to embrace this wonderful special spot. ¡Cent'Anni, Bendiciónes y Mazal Tov! PS The staff is easy on the eyes After 6PM, it's dinner service only, from what I understand... TRY IT, especially early in the AM or just before sunset...

I keep a "want to try" collection on yelp with places I've read about or happened upon. One day we wanted lunch out, with a solid walk to/from, so I checked my list and we decided to come here. What a great place! You can order coffee and, at the counter, and there are a few café tables right there. Or, go in back for table service, which is what we did. We were seated at a high-top, comfortable enough. The lovely waiter brought menus and a bottle of water (tap, which we prefer). No rush later, he came to ask if we had any questions, which we did, and learned that most dishes are made for sharing. We shared the excellent farro salad and a small but very tasty cheese board. That salad was ample for the 2 of us, full of fresh summer veggies and farro, with olive oil and good seasoning. The cheese board came with a smoked mozzarella that was incredibly creamy inside like a good burrata would be; pecorino; and I'm sorry but I forget what the 3rd cheese was, reminded me of a manchego, but it wasn't that. It was one golf ball size or a tad bigger of the mozzarella, and 3 slim triangles of each of the others, served with 2 slices of focaccia. This was a satisfying lunch. For dessert we shared a decaf coffee - excellent coffee btw - and an Italian cornetto, very similar to a croissant. We left satisfied, not uncomfortably stuffed. We look forward to coming back for dinner here. Food was excellent, service excellent, price fair for what we had, and I loved that our waiter spoke Italian; I said grazie, he said prego, minimal I know, but sweet.

My friends and I recently had dinner at Travelers Poets & Friends and we all couldn't have been more impressed! Everything was truly delicious and the service was phenomenal. My friend booked for us to have dinner here, and it did not disappoint! The decor and ambiance was incredible--intimate, homey, and so charming. We all loved our server Faheem, who did a really good job of explaining the menu and giving his suggestions for what things we could share as a group. His descriptions of some of the unique dishes were very spot on, and we all were so happy, full, and satisfied! The seafood platter is a sampling of all their popular seafood dishes, and very well worth getting as a kind of appetizer if you're in a group of 3 or more! Arancini was another highlight appetizer, and the mafalde pasta with sea urchin was an absolute delight! Their handmade pastas are delicious. Loved the concept of having a restaurant that focuses more on seafood and friendly for folks who may have lactose intolerance. We also went next door to the restaurant's gelateria for dessert, and their flavors were incredible. The pistachio, hazelnut, and dairy-free dark chocolate were *chef's kiss*! This is a lovely addition to the area and a place I'll definitely go back to again and again.

Mini and cuter version of Eately! Loved the vibe of this place. Conveniently located in West village. They have freshly baked bread, patsa made in house, lots of bakery of bakery items, coffee, wine bar and so on. There is a private seating area too which seems to be available on a booking basis. I got the focaccia bread and it was super fresh and light. The coffee was great too! I am really looking forward to try pasta next time, especially because they make it right there! I reached around 4:45pm and they said it's not available to order anymore. So yep next time hopefully. The place is quite busy usually but they try to keep it moving and cleaned up. The guy behind the barista was kind enough to check for our review on coffee.

Super cute spot!! Authentic breads and deli section, fresh pasta and sauces. Coffee is great and have an array of fresh pastries. They have seating not a lot but enough to find a spot. Service was kind and attentive. I chilled here to recharge a little while enjoying a cortado and coffee cake. Coffee cake was delicious, coffee was divine. I also got a slice of their Margarita focaccia to go, fresh and delicious! Will def be back!

Went for lunch service -- dinner service just opened and I'm excited to go back for that. Food? Incredible. Presentation? Great. Vibes? Immaculate. We had pasta/pastries/sandwich/arancini (not in that order). My fav was pasta and pastries. Looking around me the pizza also looked really good. Only note was that it was very loud and crowded -- I think they could control the traffic flow a bit more. Also was expecting a bit for of a sophisticated spot which this was in all regards.... except for the two year olds birthday party being held while we were there. Everything is house made and the servers are very knowledgeable. Excited to swing by again!

Great spot to relax and enjoy delicious food and coffee. The vibe of the cafe is cozy but spacious, and the staff is very kind and helpful. The prices are high but the quality is worth it. The only thing I'll call out is that the service was a bit slow, and a couple of things were forgotten in our order. However the staff was very nice about it and gave us complimentary items without us having to ask. I HIGHLY recommend the Maritozzo pastry - I've never had anything like it and it was to die for! Special shoutout to the cortado and bucatini cacio e pepe as well.

Ambiance and service were fantastic. The space is very Eataly inspired with part devoted to a market and the other half devoted to a restaurant space. The menu is geared towards a pescatarian diet, so items that would traditionally include pork or beef instead are made with white fish, tuna, etc. I got the eggs and fish sausage dish cause i was curious to try the fish sausage. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy it, and the eggs also tasted like they were made in the same pan as the sausage (had a fishy taste). I did enjoy the bit of pasta I tried from a friend's order, so I'd suggest going for one of their pasta dishes. Though my food fell short, overall it was a nice brunch experience.

In the strange, and unexpected coffee desert that is the west village (not for lack of options, but for lack of quality), Travelers Poets & Friends emerges as an oasis from the concrete dunes. Exceptional service by outstanding people who all offer their own unique flavor of home (Italy). Everything here is the highest caliber. Please do yourself a favor and stop by for a morning coffee, afternoon sandwich or evening dinner here. You won't regret it.

Dynamite & deliziosa addition to the village where you could eat incredibly well starting with housemade focaccia & pasta. There's a lot of generous samples too including a lux hot chocolate. Ate: A plate of six vegetables Total $ 17.42 I loved the dishes especially the hummus and funghi. It was a delicious plate. I also bought a giant box for a Christmas gift including sauces & fresh pasta, and dried pasta.. There's so many delicious authentic options here, I can't wait to try more.

Much has been written recently about the combined alimentaria/restaurant combination with much of the focus going to Roscioli and Eataly. The real star of this culinary genre should be Travelers Poets & Friends. This place is great. Everything is delicious, the service is great and there is definitely a nice vibe. If you can snag a table at Don Angie or San Sabino go, but if you can't then Travelers Poets & Friends is a truly worthy consolation prize.

My friend and I visited on a Friday evening and were able to be seated at the bar. The ambiance is dark inside and mostly casual. Although it was not busy the service was slow and my water was never refilled. The food came quickly, but both my friend and I were not a huge fan of the taste. We got the octopus and a pasta and the portions were okay. I would consider checking out the options during the day, but wouldn't return for dinner.

cool small spot near the PATH. the calamari was very tasty and crunchy, the pasta was good but a little too al dente for me. we waited a while for the waiter to come with the check, and then had to wait again to be able to pay. if the portions were bigger, I'd understand the price but it's pretty expensive for such a small portion of pasta

The food and the service are both 10/10. It's a cute spot that also doubles as a small bakery/shop where you can get freshly made pasta. Their take on different spritz's are so good as well. I highly suggest the arancini, the oysters and definitely get the seafood platter. It's delicious. Then the pizzas and pastas are so fresh. The lasagna is the best. Great for a date night or a get together with friends.

On this frigid day, I wish I could fly on my magic broomstick straight to Travelers, Poets and Friends to have their exceptional cappuccino. Served in a glass mug, this coffee was terra-cotta in color and luscious. I paired it with a toothsome polenta cake. For me, coffee is a treat which I enjoy at various cafes, so it was natural for me to try it here. The atmosphere was relaxing that I took my time to drink it serenely. TPF is a miniature Eataly situated on Sixth Avenue and 11th Street. Formerly, it was a Chinese restaurant that had closed and the block cried for a tenant. Opened shy of a month, there is a lot packed in - fresh pasta being prepared, food items from Italy, a cafe with round tables, hot food section with pizzas, assorted vegetables, various dishes and fish. I saw an octopus waiting to be ordered. The cuisine is both vegetarian and pescatarian. No meat of any kind is served. To the side, there is an area that resembles a drawing room with a piano which i tinkled. In the front window, there is an antique gramophone. The green and gold wallpaper of the restroom was exquisite! So is the pretty washbasin. The service is friendly and everyone was smiling.

Slow service and inattentive staff. I went in on a Saturday afternoon and sat at the nearly empty bar and none of the 3 staff members tended to me. After asking for a menu, the staff didn't bother asking if I wanted to order anything, instead I had to wait until they were done conversing amongst each other to place my order. 2 starts for the ambiance, but not worth the price. Much better options in West Village.

Wow.... Travelers Poets & Friends is truly incredible. I had the rigatoni with pistachio pesto and every bite was delicious. I sat at the bar/coffee bar and enjoyed the ambiance. The staff was so nice and so helpful as they helped me try different wines on the menus and select items in the shop. Can't wait to go back!

Is this the grayest February or what? Somewhere in the back of my mind I am always in Italy. Happily, Travelers Poets & Friends is a real taste of Italy in the neighborhood. The vibe is Italian, they speak the language, and the food is prepared with skill, care, and love, like in that magical country. Fabulous cappuccino - try polenta cake or pear tart with that (the crumb cake was disappointing). Or opt for savory and let them warm up a thick slice of focaccia, drizzle it with olive oil and sprinkle salt on it. The cold case looks like a jewel box with beautiful vegetable preparations that taste divine - too bad most are $20 a pound, and up! It's difficult to pay that much for vegetables, although it looks like there is a plate on offer that features six for a more reasonable price? That would be a good option. Homemade pasta and a selection of Italian groceries make for a great homemade dinner. Wish I lived closer!

I don't really understand why people are raving about this restaurant. I think it's on the expense side for what they serve and they don't do a fabulous job, at least on what we ordered. I'm a weekly pizza person, so seeing the new restaurant in the neighborhood I went for pizza. The Buffalo Margherita Pizza $22.00 was downright bland. The Spicy Tuna & Burrata Pizza $27.00 was definitely more interesting, and the Calabrian Chili Pepper definitely provided a flavorful kick. When we first started eating the pizza the dough was quite good, but by the end of our eating the pizzas, the dough had taken on a somewhat cardboard-ish texture. I don't think this cafe is ready for prime time yet, even getting the crushed red pepper that I requested when I ordered the pizza took an extremely long time and the parmesan they served could have easily come out of a Kraft container of ground up cheese. I may go back to check out the arancini or the cod fish croquettes.

So the food was great, but they treat some patrons better than other. We were placed next to a couple with a huge baby stroller and 3 YEAR OLD. The kid knocked over a bottle of wine , and the staff had to deal with glass, wine etc . The selfish parents didnt apologize at all to any of the 3 tables just next to them. The staff forgot about us and the bill was over $200 Why do people have children are so inconsiderate ? Never going back.........

Upon entering, the ambiance enveloped me in a cozy embrace, with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the buzz of animated conversations creating an inviting atmosphere. Eager to indulge, I promptly ordered a cappuccino, opting for oat milk, and was delighted by the perfectly executed froth delicately adorning the surface a testament to the barista's skill and attention to detail. Accompanying my beverage, I ordered the Hudson Burger a tantalizing creation featuring a Hudson trout patty, adorned with tomato relish, crisp lettuce, and a tantalizing Calabrian sauce. The first bite was a revelation, each element harmonizing to create a symphony of flavors that danced upon my palate. The succulent juicy trout burger, paired with the tangy relish and creamy Calabrian sauce, was a culinary masterpiece that left me longing for more. In addition to the burger, I couldn't resist ordering the Rigatoni Pistachio Pesto Pasta a dish as intriguing as it was enticing. Crafted with homemade pistachio pesto, drizzled with extra virgin olive oil, and infused with the subtle warmth of garlic, each forkful transported me to culinary nirvana. The impeccable service provided by the server was attentive and personable. From the moment I stepped through the door to the final sip of my cappuccino, every aspect of the experience was imbued with warmth, creativity, and culinary excellence up until the last bite.
