"Tre Monte, an Italian restaurant from Woburn, is planning to expand to Boston’s North End, replacing Limoncello 2. Owner and chef Antony Contarino confirmed the news, indicating that the new location will be similar to the Woburn restaurant with classic Italian dishes. They are awaiting approval for a liquor license transfer and plan to open by the end of May." - Terrence Doyle

"Woburn Italian restaurant Tre Monte (with two sibling spots under the moniker Tre Monte Pizzeria in Tyngsborough and Lowell) will expand to Boston’s North End, taking over the former Limoncello 2 space. It’ll serve pasta and lots more, not to mention plenty of wine." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

2 of us visited on Saturday evening with no reservation. The place was all booked with no available tables. Thankfully there were 2 seats available on the bar. We both ordered pizza and watched them make it. The servers were great, the pizza was amazing (and a perfect size!), and the prices were very reasonable for Boston. I highly recommend

The staff are amazing!!!!!! The food is good and it was such a great and elegant dining experience 👌🏽. I had pasta and my friend had pizza, both out of this world, delicious 🤤. Waiter always topped off my drinks and gave me red pepper flakes. There’s only five stars but I would give it a ten.

Google
Gem of a place! Friendly staff. Salads were so good. Cesar was excellent with perfect amount of dressing. Caprese salad was a huge hit with my daughter who doesn’t love tomatoes and she ate the tomatoes which were very ripe and sweet. The house chopped salad was like a mini antipasto salad. So good. Chicken Parmigiana was outstanding. Shrimp scampi was delicious with perfect amount of fresh chopped Garlic. Pork chops were unbelievably tender and tasty. Make sure you get the homemade pasta with your meal. It’s is delicious. Bread was soft inside and crusty rustic outside and tasted homemade. We went at 5 pm on a Friday and no one else was there. So we were a little concerned as it was busy at other restaurants on that street but so glad we went here! One of the best meals we have had in the North End and we have tried quite a few. Very generous portions and high quality fresh ingredients. A+ Highly recommend!!!

Google
Air conditioning was broken in basement of restaurant. The wait staff continued to serve and seat few customers in the basement but offered no accommodation for customers eating downstairs and charged full price for everything. I believe we were visited a total of 3 times by wait staff throughout the absent dining experience. Ordered tortellini which was cooked fine. It was a shame the atmosphere of the restaurant was completely abysmal for the north end.

Google
Mrs Patty made spot on recommendations and EVERYTHING was amazing!!!!! She is a delight! This is a must try!!!!! I can honestly say the best Italian restaurant I've ever been to. The Famaggio Pizza and the Tortellini are make you cuss and slap yo momma good! To die for!!!!

Google
HIGHLY RECOMMEND Tre Monte in north end. What a terrific find. The carbonara was fantastic. Perfect pasta and sauce. Same for the Rigatoni dish. Chicken parmesan was equally as good. Calamari and chopped salad were excellent starters. Definitely make time to get dinner here.

Google
This restaurant did not disappoint. On a busy Saturday night in Boston, we were welcomed into our 7pm reservation. Shortly after sitting we noticed the restaurant was running with three staff members - and very efficiently. The young hostess (also the food runner and busser) sat us and shortly after we were greeted by our server (and bartender) Patty. After drinks, we ordered the Calamari and Arancini. Fresh, hot and very good. For our mains, we got the Carbonara and Tagliatelle Bolognese. Both creamy and decadent, we could barely finish since we were so full already - the portions were not dainty. Overall, the experience was lovely and felt very much like a mom and pop restaurant. Food and service were both incredible. Highly recommend going here!

Google
We were only in Boston for a night and were looking everywhere for an Italian place. Everywhere was jam packed and no tables. Finally we see this place which only had a few people inside. The owner and waitress were so nice and the food OMG the food was amazing. We had the bruschetta which was so fresh and chicken parm both were absolutely delicious. Would come here again if ever in the area again.

Michael S.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Everyone's meals were great...chicken parm, Marsala, the tortellini melts in your mouth, and the meat lovers pizza was delicious

Yelp
I recently dined at Tremonte Restaurant and had a wonderful experience. I ordered the Country Style Rigatoni with Italian sausage, and it was exactly what I needed--a hearty and filling dinner. The rigatoni was cooked perfectly al dente, soaking up the rich, flavorful sauce. The Italian sausage added a nice, savory kick, while the beans brought a touch of sweetness that balanced the dish beautifully. The portion size was generous, making it perfect for anyone looking for a satisfying meal. The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. Overall, Tremonte offers a comforting and delicious dining experience. I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu!

Yelp
This was overall a good experience. Our server was excellent, and she had an infectious laugh. She was attentive and balanced our table because it was a bit wobbly. However, this is a pet peeve of mine. Balancing tables in the dining room should be done before opening for the day and when a table is moved. My party shared everything. We enjoyed the meatballs, eggplant, a cheese pizza, and bolognese. Everything was great except the pasta. I knew when I saw bolognese with fettuccine noodles it would not meet my expectations. The pasta was mushy and did not mix well with the sauce. Being in the North End was great, and the service and most of the food was excellent.

Yelp
Very small spot. Sat at the bar and had some small talk with the bartenders who were friendly. For an appetizer we got the arancini which was the best part. For dinner we got the Tagliatelle Amatriciana which was pretty good. The carbonara wasn't what I'd call a traditional carbonara, it was very creamy and less yolky, and the pancetta wasn't very crispy. It wasn't bad, but I'd say it was more like Alfredo.

Messa J.

Yelp
The service and drinks were great, the calamari appetizer was good, and our entrees were meh. We ordered the chicken and eggplant parm (the breading was excessive) and the pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe (way too much oil and had what looked to be lunch meat ham). Overall, we would probably not dine here again based on the quality of our entrees.

Andy N.

Yelp
The restaurant itself is small, quint, and intimate. I loved the seat but the window looking onto the street. The staff are very attentive and take care of you. However, when it came to the food, the sauces were very watery with little flavor. Because it was so watery, the flavors were muted and bland. I got the sausage and rabe pasta, and the rawness of the rabe cut through the dish as the dominant flavor which left a less than desired taste in the mouth. I was excited to try it after reading so many incredible reviews, but I was left unsatisfied.

Yelp
We were going to Boston for business but needed a restaurant for a birthday dinner, we chose and made a reservation at TreMonte. Three of the four attending had a birthday that day. While flying in that afternoon, I noticed on open table that the reservation had been canceled so i immediately made another reservation which open table allowed and confirmed. When we arrived at the restaurant, it was closed. Despite the restaurant having our contact info, they never called, text or let us know in anyway that the restaurant would be closed. Just bad business.

Michelle W.

Yelp
Very solid Italian spot in North End! This place was packed on a Friday night and I would recommend getting a reservation if you're trying to visit at a peak time. Service was quick and the food was delicious. We got the Caesar salad, rigatoni della casa, and the Bolognese. Everything we tried was very tasty. The star of the show however was definitely the rigatoni- the Italian meatballs were fresh and the creamy tomato sauce was super flavorful. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be back to try some of the other pastas on the menu!

Michelle V.

Yelp
Staff refused to honor open table reservation. Staff was not apologetic and was very rude. With so many other great options in the area, we will never return.

Cindy M.

Yelp
I was in Boston for work so wanted to try the local yum spots such as this one. I'm so glad I did as the food was soooo good! We sat near the street so plenty of people watching. The staff was so friendly that the experience was top notch. Im so glad Yelp found me this place. I'll definitely be back.

Matt M.

Yelp
Food was good , quick. Seemed like a North End Neighborhood place. Doesn't have a full Liquor license.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
We were stuck in rush hour traffic near the North End on a Friday evening. We found great reviews of this restaurant and were amazingly able to find parking close by. The restaurant is very small with one of the smaller menus in the area. However, what they do make was pretty wonderful. The penne sausage rabe was absolutely delicious - an old world recipe that they excel at. Their prices are some of the most affordable in this section of town. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Madeleine B.

Yelp
Oh my god. Small spot in the North End with bolognese to die for. 10/10 but be sure to make a res

Amelia D.

Yelp
We were originally a bit surprised that the restaurant was mostly empty at 6:00 pm on a Saturday, but we relied on the great reviews and were seated right away. The restaurant was cozy, the tables were relatively close together, but we didn't feel like there were people right on top of us. By the time we finished eating, the restaurant was definitely filling up, so I think we were just on the earlier side of the evening. For food, we started with a Caesar salad, which was very good! The dressing was very flavorful, but not overwhelming. A great, light way to start the meal! For entrees, we ordered and split the Fusilli Sausage Rabe and also the Rigatoni Della Casa - both were delicious! The fusilli had an amazing texture - they apparently make it by hand - and the sauce was very delicate (sort of more like a broth). It was a teeny bit spicy, as advertised, which added a nice dimension to the dish. The only comment is that I think the roasted garlic could have been a stronger element. The rigatoni was my preferred dish out of the two - good serving of sausage in the dish (and small, actually bite-sized pieces), creamy sauce, and the peas added a nice bright texture and taste. Delicious! Service was wonderful, very quick, very friendly and helpful with the menu. We would definitely return on our next visit to Boston, since the food on everyone else's table also looked very appealing!

Peng L.

Yelp
Food was ok. Service could be better, especially the attitude from the guy behind the bar. Understaffed and clearly lots of tensions between the people and the boss.

Julie G.

Yelp
We were really disappointed with this meal at Trenonte because the 4.5 stars gave us great expectations. When we arrived on time for our reservation, the man at the door barely said a word. Ten minutes later when I checked in about being seated (there were empty tables), he rudely said "I got you already." When we were seated, we noticed there was only one server so we ordered everything at once. We were really disappointed by our bolognese. They put cream in it, which is not normal. Also, it was supposed to be tagliatelle according to the menu and it was actually linguine (or something thinner). Overall, very underwhelming. The kind server who was working her butt off is the only reason this got 2 stars. With all the options in the north end, we really wish we had gone somewhere else.

Michael Y.

Yelp
Very good portion sizes and good tasting pasta. It's a filling meal and the sauces are pretty good. I wish the wine selection by the glass was better, but I'm happy to see them flexing the Tignanello by the bottle. The location is great, and if you can't get a spot at some of the other Italian places nearby, I would definitely check this place out.

Kate B.

Yelp
We were disappointed after reading such great reviews. The homemade pasta option on the menu was good but the chicken parmesan was horrible and tasted processed and frozen.

LJ A.

Yelp
AMAZING meal ... Joe made our dinner extra special ... great service and wonderful conversation! The food is SO FRESH ... homemade pasta absolutely to die for!!! We could not have asked for a better Italian meal. Totally spoiled us from beginning to end :)!

Jordyn G.

Yelp
Food was not too bad, but service was absolutely atrocious. We were seated at the bottom and the server was rude to us from the start. There was a fly in my drink, which we asked the server to take off the check. He did without any complaints, but he didn't say anything to apologize or ask if I would like another drink. He also started arguing with another table after they paid their check about how legalizing marijuana in Massachusetts was a mistake. It just seemed unprofessional in general, and rather political to be bringing up to your patrons. Later, when all of the other tables downstairs left, so did our server. We had to ask the hostess/bus girl to bring us our check because our server had disappeared completely. I really don't like writing bad reviews, but we were so disappointed with this experience on our when visiting Little Italy. We thought we lucked out when we made last-minute reservations at a place that was reviewed so highly. However, we regret coming here when we probably could've gone somewhere with lower reviews that would've been twice as good of service and food. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is because I would hope that if we had a different server our experience wouldn't have been as horrible.

Elayne L.

Yelp
We had an early Saturday night reservation for 4. It's a small restaurant. I think we were waited on by the owner and his daughter. Very good service. He was very patient with one member of our group. No full liquor license but, that was ok with us. We ordered appetizers. The shrimp appetizer was fabulous! We had, pizza, two pasta dishes and I had chicken Marsala. Everything was delicious, although I was hoping for some seafood for an entree. No worries. We would return!

Kristen M.

Yelp
My Boyfriend and I had a great experience at Tre Monte last night. Brendan, our server, did an excellent job. He had mentioned they were significantly understaffed and yet he was managing it very well. The food was all fresh and amazing. We split the arancini and the fusulli sausage rabe pasta dish. Small intimate restaurant and exactly what you would expect for North End quality Italian.

Maria M.

Yelp
The restaurant failed to honor our 7pm OpenTable reservation made for Saturday night. Despite reserving ahead, we were told upon on-time arrival that there would be a wait. Worse, we were instructed to wait outside in the cold with no options given. Reservations exist to eliminate wait times and guarantee available tables. When that OpenTable commitment gets broken, it shows disregard for the time and plans of paying guests. We can only hope this restaurant reconsiders its reservation policy to avoid future disappointment.

Miles S.

Yelp
I've been to many Italian restaurants in my day (and likely my future days as well as my past life). The vibe here is so incredible and the menu stretches over novelties from local seafood to pasta and eccentric wines. I appreciate this spot and them having us by during the pandemic to film some legendary dishes. So glad y'all are back! Anyone wondering whether or not to go here. Go.

Cameron Y.

Yelp
My friends and I went here on a Saturday night visiting Boston. The place wasn't very busy. It took about an hour to get our food. The pasta I ordered had about six or seven whole cloves of garlic in it that I had to pick out. Besides that the taste was good. My other friend's pizza was cold. The waiter left us unattended for about 30 minutes. We happily would've ordered more drinks had the waiter been more attentive. Overall, not the worst experience but I'm not sure how this place is rated as high as it is.

James H.

Yelp
We had dinner here and thought it was fantastic. The North End gets crazy busy, so we were glad that we made a reservation.

Josephine R.

Yelp
i spent a couple days in boston and spent a lot of time trying food around the boston and salem area. And honestly, the best food i had was at this place. I was on the hunt for the best lobster rolls, the best chowder, the best cannolis, but the last meal i had before running to the airport was at TreMonte, i had my Tagliatelle Della Casa made to-go. I added shrimp and they didn't hold back! This was the best pasta i've ever had in my life and i'm very very picky with italian. so many places miss the dot and this place certainly blew me away. You can tell that the pasta was hand made very fresh and the taste of the overall dish was insane. Peas in pasta? Who woulda thought that would be a great mix. The service was great too, has a homey feeling to the place. If i'm ever back in the area, i want this to be my first meal back in!

Vivian C.

Yelp
TreMonte has well portioned side dishes that one would not hesitate to offer to share with their dining companions. It was but $6 each for a healthy portion of the colorful assorted grilled vegetables, their sauteed spinach with cloves of garlic, and their chive infused mashed potatoes. They offer different sides daily. However their caprese $10 was not as well valued with four small slices of tomatoes sandwiching half moons of mozzarella topping the bed of arugula. PS - I am generally pleased with the service here (one previous visit may have been an aberration, I hope). Turns out I had been running the kitchen staff ragged with my unintentional (App placed) orders for side dishes that they had not been prepared to offer. They generally only offer two sides per evening, which changes each night, and instead of telling me "sorry but we don't have that" when I arrive for pick up, they've been whipping them up for me. PSS - I appreciate that they have read my review and have responded well to the good and the bad. It shows that they care. (Btw, those orders were placed by app, not by phone.)

James K.

Yelp
Good review the waitress was pretty cool. At some point some dude in a Batman esc costume walked by with a lightsaber. I think it may have been a vigilante situation, would come again for food and crime fighting

Burton S.

Yelp
Had 7:30pm reservations yesterday for 4. Unfortunately we kmew we were going to be delayed 15 minutes so we tried calling 4 different times to inform them. No answer. When we got there we were told we would have to wait and that our table was given away. The host was rude and dismissive so we left. Will never go back. With all of the fantastic restaurants in the NE, no need to reward rude service. Went to Euno up the street and had a fantastic meal!

Debi R.

Yelp
Everyone was in the mood for Italian and our 1st and 2nd choice restaurants were booked. So that lead us to quaint little TreMonte. It was not crowded on a Thursday night and we were seated right away. We ordered meatball appetizers to start off with. They were good. I ordered their linguine with shrimp special, hubby ordered chicken parm, and our daughter ordered pink penne. We all agreed the penne was amazing. Service was quick, drinks were never empty and our server was very friendly and helpful.

Jason S.

Yelp
Holy crap that was good. Nice prices too I thought for the amount of food you get. People who work here are SO NICE!!

Leo U.

Yelp
Off the beaten path with classic (or outdated) interior, we found the food to be great. Service while very attentive was fast but to be fair they were slammed and limited in wait staff. Pizza and pasta were excellent. Bread was basic. No draft beer or full alcohol license but they try to make do.

Angela P.

Yelp
Good food and decent service, but I wasn't wow'd here. It's located next to many other options. Walking distance to the train station and the public market. I got the rustico salad which had fresh greens, red bell peppers, cubes of cheese, and a yummy portabello. I should have asked for half dressing though, it was drenched in vinegar dressing. I also got the lobster ravioli. Good sized portion filled me up. Shrimps were small. The sauce was good, but too salty for my taste. The lobster ravioli was good though, and cooked perfectly. The two servers were working really hard because they were busy. They should have a third though, because the service was slow and they were really rushed.

K M.

Yelp
Quick stop for a couple chiantis and apps. Service was friendly and prompt. Had caprese salad and a gooey delicious eggplant dish. Yum. Will return.

Anne S.

Yelp
We decided to try this restaurant based on the great reviews, and were sorely disappointed. We're wondering if it was better before Covid, because it seems like most of the good reviews are several years old. Like someone else mentioned, the vibe is really weird. There were basically no other customers in there on a Thursday evening except for a few regulars at the bar and the place was dirty. The windows were filthy, the menus were sticky, and the glasses weren't fully clean. To start out the meal, the waitress brought us bread with olive oil. The bread was basically super cheap tasteless "italian" bread from a grocery store, and was slightly stale. My husband and I then both ordered pasta dishes. They were decent, but not amazing, and definitely not worth over $20. The wine menu was not what I would expect given the price of the entrees. Overall, for the prices they charge, this place should have a nice ambiance and good food. Instead, it's divey in an awkward, unintentional sort of way.

Reshma K.

Yelp
Nice restaurant on a slightly quieter street in the North End. We had reservations but were there a little ahead of time and thankfully that wasn't bothersome. We ordered merlot to go with Melanga and Meatballs and that was delicious. The bread wasn't warm but it was soft and really good. For our main course we ordered frutti di mari, pork chops, chicken parm and lobster ravioli. Food was delicious and filling and we landed up packing some of the food for home. Our server was attentive and friendly and polite, they came to check on us enough. It was a very pleasant evening.

Mona H.

Yelp
Great service and food. Ambiance nice too . Highly recommend. I would like it if Yelp would allow me to just rate and be brief.

Caroline K.

Yelp
When we walked in there it was completely empty and quiet as a church. We started to wonder if our reservation here was a mistake. Never judge a book by its cover folks. Joe, our hostess, server and chef, prepared for us two DELICIOUS Italian dishes. My boyfriend got the buffalo chicken pizza which was fantastic. I ended up getting the rigatoni della casa with the gluten-free pasta, which was superb. The pasta was cooked to perfection, which I find it really hard to do. If you are questioning whether you should eat here or not, you should give it a try. We would definitely eat here again.

Matthew Y.

Yelp
Phenomenal, authentic Italian. Great service. Discover this gem before everyone else does!

Linda S.

Yelp
Maybe we ordered wrong... but we felt that the ambience was seriously lacking and the food was very unexciting (like the pasta tasted very generic and not al dente) and the service was very slow. We took out of town guests there and regretted it.

Ariana G.

Yelp
Awesome restaurant! The food was surprisingly affordable for the North End and the portions were huge. They start you off with warm bread and olive oil which was delicious. We got an order of calamari and bruschetta for the table and we were very impressed with both! Our bruschetta came out after we had finished the calamari, but it was definitely worth the wait. For my main course I ordered the sauteed chicken with a side of penne with pink sauce and it was incredible! Each dish that isn't pasta comes with a side of your choice. All pasta sides come with red sauce but if you ask for pink it's only a $2 up charge and it is most definitely worth it! We were much to full to order dessert but what we saw coming out of the kitchen looked homemade and delicious. The only reason I am giving four stars is because there was one server for the whole restaurant, while there weren't many people there for a Friday night service was still much slower than anticipated.

Cat M.

Yelp
Delish! This place rocked it on all levels - food, drinks, service, & atmosphere! Large attractive place with 2 levels & a nice dark wood bar. Wine list has a great selection of decent brands of wine. Bartender was knowledgeable about the wines which was great! Service was spot on & everyone working there was pleasant to interact with. You can even let the chef's know how great the food is as there is a window right by the hallway to the bathrooms! Bread with tasty oil is addictive! Meatball app was amazing - tender meatballs with ricotta cheese & plenty of sauce - a winner! My husband got a chicken dish with pasta & mascapone & i was delish - I tried it & it was excellent. I got the carbonara - so light & flavorful. Not a heavy dish but one that is so good, you can't stop eating it - even when you are full! The other plus is that you can make a reservation here! This place was amazing & when we are back in Boston, we'll definitely go to this place for dinner!

Craig R.

Yelp
Don't judge a book by a cover. We walked in to an empty small dinning room. The food was amazing. Had a pizza for an app, then had pasta for dinner. Amazing. Don't pass it up.

Brad A.

Yelp
Completely empty on a Sunday night. Guy working the bar served us at our table, but the atmosphere is fine/fun. The pasta dishes were amazing (tortellini, rigatoni pink and fusilli sausage). Cannot recommend enough, this place should be full.

M R.

Yelp
Great cozy atmosphere. Service was friendly and fast. Food was delicious! Highly recommend.

Tyler R.

Yelp
bad service with even worse food. stay away. easily the worst food in the north end. bathrooms are disgusting also

David D.

Yelp
Based on other YELP reviews - headed over here today ... met mgr Joey and Rob at bar ... nice Antinori white blend - super light calamari ... will gladly return for entrees

Mercedes F.

Yelp
This place is so cute ! Very small and romantic. Our bartender was awesome, she gave us so many great suggestions. We got freshly made sangria from her it was perfect. We started off with the antipasto which seriously was the best one I ever had! Great portion of olives. For the entrees I got the bolognese and for my boyfriend they made him a chicken Marsala even though it's not on the menu. The bolognese was good but not my favorite. The Marsala was .... DELICIOUS!!!!! We both agreed it was the best sauce we've ever had. Can't wait to go back! Thank you for the amazing service!
