Trencher Review - Echo Park - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Trencher is an all-day cafe in Echo Park, and one of the Eastside’s best sandwich shops that you’ve probably never heard of. The no-frills space is small, but fun, and actually filled with people who live in the neighborhood. You’re definitely going to want that chicken banh mi." - Brant Cox

"According to lore, the medieval “trencher” is an ancestor of the modern-day open-face sandwich, so it makes sense that the Veggie Trencher—eggplant and kale topped with a dollop of fresh burrata—is top notch. There's also a proper dining room where you can sit, should you want to make your sandwich into a bit more of an event."

Star Baker Nicole Rucker’s Standalone Fairfax Project Opens Monday - Eater LA

"Trencher in Echo Park has added beer and wine as of yesterday. The sandwich shop just off Sunset Boulevard is adding a bunch of locally-made craft beer, and will be rolling out a happy hour in the coming weeks." - Farley Elliott

Solid fried chicken sandwich for $11.5, which includes chips. Fries were $2 extra. The chicken was perfectly fried, crispy and moist. With the soft bread, slaw and spicy sauce it was an overall great sandwich. The only downside was the slight sweetness to the sandwich, which I found strange, and would have preferred not there. Nevertheless it was an overall great sandwich for the value. I'd come back for it again and recommend it.

Only people in the entire place and waited 25 minutes for a breakfast burrito. Not sure anyone here enjoys life here. Now that I have eaten this burrito, save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. I added bacon (nearly raw) and filled with potatoes eliminating any taster for whatever egg the included in this. Pure and utter disappointment

Burger and sandwich were so delicious! The interior and exterior were also great.

Tiny little spot that's worth checking out in Echo Park. Great hot and cold sandwiches + sides and drinks. A little hard to see from Sunset Blvd but a good place to check out before a Dodger's game.

I was really surprised at how much I liked the food here. I got the gluten-free fried chicken. I was a little skeptical about gluten-free fried chicken, but I thought it was really good. I also really liked the homemade barbecue chips. I got a side kale salad which was pretty underwhelming though. Also the ambiance wasn't that great. But I would definitely go back and try more of the sandwiches.

Awesome food! The owner is awesome, and works there. The picture is an example of some art they have on the wall.

I usually go here every couple months. Good sandwiches. Great chips. However sticky tables, No glasses, limited and expensive drink selection. Service needs work. 2.5 stars but easy 4 with a little improvement.

The breakfast burrito is small and mostly flavorless, not helped by the 1/4 serving of salsa and sour cream included. The bacon I added for $2 was fatty and chopped up instead of in nice thick pieces and the large potatoes lack seasoning. The tortilla was ok, but overall disappointed based on the reviews.
