HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!! Had to celebrate at my favs, Trilogy Sanctuary once again since it's been years since I've been back thanks to the pandemic.
I definitely enjoyed the atmosphere, vibes, people, and of course food and drinks!! It was a slow Saturday night and there weren't many people so we got a decent section to sit with our party crew. Parking was also surprisingly easy to find on Saturday at 530pm.
I got to sample a bit of everyone's order and man they stepped it up! The Vega-nachos, Enticing eggplant, Adora bowl, Holy beet wrap, and desserts were delish! The Trilogy kefir soda on tap had a variety of flavors and it was a first for me. The watermelon flavor did not disappoint. Glad I popped my kefir soda cherry!
The Holy Beet Wrap was better than I expected. It was a raw coconut wrap with beet hummus, roasted butternut squash, avocado, caramelized onions, fresh spinach, red cabbage, and a drizzle of lemon tahini dressing. The combination of flavors went well together and was very light and nourishing. I enjoyed every bit of it and the side salad was a nice addition. Highly recommend.
Our party enjoyed the Vega-nachos and it was plentiful to share. It consisted of organic blue corn chips, quinoa chili, cashew cheezy sauce, cashew sour cream with pico, hemp seeds and avocado. We did run out of chips, but other than that everyone even the omnivores didn't complain. They cleaned their plates!
The Enticing eggplant was a new addition on their menu and it was also wonderful. It had garlic roasted portobello mushrooms, rolled up inside three roasted eggplant blankets, and grilled with cashew cheeze sauce. It was served over maple mashed yams, broccolini, and topped with hemp seeds and pine nut pesto. My friend rated it an 8/10 and that's from someone who is 90% raw vegan. He definitely said it was worth it.
The Adora Bowl was quite filling and hearty. Perfect on a cool day to keep your tummy warm and happy. It had spiced red and green lentil dahl over brown rice with probiotic rich coconut yogurt tzatziki with beet and red cabbage sauerkraut and fresh cilantro. If you love lentils then this is a winner!
For dessert we had the "Lavish" which are buckwheat crepes filled with chocolate hazelnut spread and sliced banana drizzled with walnut date caramel sauce. It was topped with vanilla cashew cream and chopped hazelnuts. My fav was the "Majestic" which is a raw carrot cake with cinnamon, spices, coconut, walnuts, and a thick and creamy lemon cashew vanilla filling. Both were divine! Photos and videos don't do them justice. If you come here only for dessert then you'll be satisfied. I personally feel it's worth the visit to Downtown La Jolla!
Friends also enjoyed the Boochcraft and Kombucha on tap! Overall, we were all loving everything about Trilogy Sanctuary! The outdoor rooftop vibe and views add to the experience.
Thanks Trilogy Sanctuary for making my birthday another memorable event! There's a reason why they are one of my top 3 favorite vegan restaurants in San Diego!
