The 34 Best Restaurants in Madrid, Spain | Eater

"Markets are evolving in Madrid. In order to attract new, younger clientele — and coax them from supermarkets — many markets have installed gastropubs next to traditional fruit, meat, and dairy stalls. In Mercado de Vallehermoso, for example, you’ll find Tripea, the culinary project of chef Roberto Martínez Foronda. His stall consists of a small open kitchen and a communal table where the chef challenges taste buds through Spanish, Asian, and Latin flavors. In a la carte selections and a perfectly executed tasting menu, Foronda entertains with shared plates filled with excitement, novelty, and hard-hitting flavors. Must-try dish: Order the iconic warm mussel ceviche." - Paula Móvil

The 17 Best Restaurants In Madrid 2024

"Tripea is a high-end tasting menu stall (yes, we get the oxymoron) in the Mercado de Vallehermoso, and a one-of-a-kind Madrid dining experience. Its tagline is “come y flipa,” meaning eat and flip out, which you’ll do by savoring grilled artichokes with mani, beef cheeks stewed in laurel, and tom yum with hoisin roasted pears as you watch people barter for fresh produce, families dig into gelato, and college students sip beer—just everyday market happenings. The seasonal, eight-dish menu is €60, though adding on some of the day’s additional specials is worth the extra €5-€15. Make a reservation, admire the chefs making these specialized dishes in the minuscule open kitchen, and pay attention to Tripea’s little touches: The water jugs are shaped like fish, and you’ll know where to sit at the shared table thanks to your name place card, held with a scorpion-shaped holder." - lori zaino

Tripea - Review - Chamberí - Madrid - The Infatuation

"As a tasting menu spot in the Mercado de Vallehermoso, Tripea is one of the most unique dining experiences on this list. The six-dish menu is €45, though adding on some of the day’s additional specials is worth the extra €5-15. Enjoy spice-infused sauces and marinades used in dishes like leek skewers and quail stewed in a saffron-heavy massaman curry. Make a reservation, watch all the action happening in the market from the barstools, and pay attention to Tripea’s little touches: the water jugs are shaped like fish and they have personalized place settings for everybody." - Lori Zaino

Incredible restaurant just as I thought! I have been wanting to come to this place and try the set menu and luckily I found a last minute stop. The food was so great and we ended up full but not overly done, it was tasty, great portions and amazing price. The wine was also so interesting! We tried a bubbly Albariño which was the first of its genre I’d ever tried and it paired super well with the food. I am celiac and they were called me prior to double check cross-contamination was ok and to find a replacement for the dish I couldn’t eat. The staff was very nice and attentive and they would explain every dish with lots of details. 10/10 both me and my friends all said we would be back!

This restaurant in the Vallehermoso Market in Madrid is a gem! A fusion of Peruvian and Asian influences the food is great! It’s understandably popular so reservations need to be made one month in advance. The service was efficient and friendly. Every dish of the fixed tasting menu was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The market is a full of character but is a touch rough and tumble, but in my opinion, the location adds to the overall experience.

Food is good. Most dishes today has creamy sauce, it's a little overwhelming. Dessert is really good today, balance between sweet and creamy

WOW! What a delicious meal!! I went there with a friend for the lunch service. We're both foodies and the experience at Tripea is one of the best ones we've had at Madrid! The restaurant is situated inside a market, where you'll find a long table all the guests sit around. The concept is a service of 8 Peruvian-Asian dishes, including a dessert. The courses are being served for everyone at the same time. Every single course was carefully made, beautifully presented, and packed full of lovely flavours! My personal favorite was the BAO bun that comes up somewhere in the middle of the meal. Our server was kind and attentive, and explained about each course. Highly recommend!!

Only by reservation. A set menu of Peruvian/Asian food, in a high table shared with the rest of the clients, around 20, in an indoor market repurposed as food hall. The food is great. The service a bit slow. The atmosphere is youthful and a bit noisy. Good option if you love this kind of food and want to feel trendy.

Was pleasantly surprised by the combination of flavours the Chef put together. Being Asian, I appreciated how different his take was on the Asian flavours of my childhood. Most of the dishes had a tart / tangy flavour profile, which I loved. I felt there was one miss: the iberico siew mai, which was one dimensional in flavour — much too sweet. The star of the show was the tuna belly tartare with coconut cream and chives — the balance of flavours and textures was truly spectacular. It wasn't included in the tasting menu, though, and came at an additional cost. Service was excellent, pacing of the dishes was good, and overall, it was fantastic quality and quantity for the price. Very happy I managed to score a last minute reservation, and will definitely be back if I am ever in Spain again.

Google
Phenomenal dining experience located in a humble Mercado in the outskirts of Madrid. The tasting menu consists of 6 dishes and each one demonstrates the fusion of Peruvian, Asian and Spanish cuisine. Staff was so kind to accommodate us with the wrong reservation (we made reservation for the following day by accident but were fortunately accommodated on arrival due to others’ cancellation). This is one of those restaurants you have to try once in your life time just for the experience.

Yelp
At 40 euros a person this is less than comparable meals. Innovative mix of flavors. All the dishes were very good. Very good at accommodating non dairy needs One of our favorites was a bao with saucy chopped chicken inside. Great flavors that were truly a blend of Peruvian and Asian. Nice curry sauces. One of the best quail we've had in awhile. Sashimi with passion fruit sauce also a highlight. Ok for kids. Tell them in advance. There was one table of 4 when we were there and it had a family of 4. The rest of us (16 total) at a high table The high seats are not particularly comfortable. It is in a Mercado-- so lively communal feel.

Yelp
What a hidden little gem inside the Mercado Vallehermoso! We were visiting from New York and our friends who live in Madrid made a reservation. They do one lunch seating at their long table and it was one of the most amazing dining experiences I have had in Madrid. The food was creative, beautiful, fresh, and unforgettable. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a culinary delight when traveling to Madrid!
