Had Tripp Burgers today for the first time and it was amazing. The simplicity makes it great Any real burger fanatic will enjoy. Ordered a single patty cheeseburger it’s cooked until the patty has formed a crispy edge all around, it gives the burger so much flavor. No fries but there is a Variety of chips and canned sodas to choose from. No cash accepted! Only credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay. Masks must be worn.

I am here right now at lakeside villas (1/10/2025; 5:04pm) nowhere in their IG or website mentions that in order to come inside the villas you need to be invited by the someone LIVING in the villas. Drove from Compton and i am not going to get my gas nor time back.

My son turned me on to this place, what a treasure! We got the burgers of course! I consider myself a burger connoisseur of burgers and these are elite burgers. The owner said he originally patterned his burger mix from the legendary Louis Lunch in New Haven CT, which puts him in the upper levels of burgerdom. You can locate him on Instagram, it is well worth the effort.

Bad customer service. Rude to me when I order. The burger has no flavor or seasoning. Overpriced and got attitude from beginning to end.

Tripp Burgers is my favorite for events we host - no one can resist a smash burger! Love how easy the ordering process is and that they provide buzzers so guests can still mingle and enjoy the party while they wait for their burgers! Highly recommend adding on the onions and the pickles!

The burgers here are very good. They have their own meat blend they make in house that provided us with a very flavorful burger. The side of chips is nice since the focus is on the burgers. I enjoyed the conversation with the owner and grill master while our food was prepared.

Very good burgers, didn't have to wait long for them to be ready. Unfortunately no fries due to them cooking outside but the chips are not a bad alternative, I got the crab chips. When you're waiting for the burgers, you can smell the different type of protein and the grilled onions were a good choice of add on. Loved that you have an option to eat it plain or with available condiments.

The burgers were good, don't get me wrong. But they weren't great after the lack of customer service I received after. Customer service needs work. If a customer (potential, new, old, etc) has questions, as a business/restaurant you respond to them in a prompt and timely manner. They are crucial to a business/restaurant's survival. Without them, they wouldn't be a business. Instead of responding to my questions, he just saw them, and to this day hasn't responded. They just lost my business and many more coming their direction.

Looking for a new burger joint near me, I turned to Yelp! And Tripp Burgers showed up as #1. I didn't realize it was a pop up, but once I found them (address leads you to Trader Joe's/CVS and you'll find Tripp on Sepulveda just in front of CVS, look for the sidewalk grill or follow the aroma of grilled onions). Be prepared this is a no cash spot. They focus on quality here, so choices are simple, cheese or no cheese, onions or no onions. A tasty smash burger cooked perfectly on a flat top. The bun was amazingly fresh and soft and I can't wait for another burger craving to hit, because I know where I'm going back to! Though next time I'm going in for a double pattie! The pop up offers diced raw onions, ketchup and mustard for condiments but the burger is perfect without condiments. The potato chips were an east coast inspired Chesapeake Bay seasoned "crab chips". They're not the star of this pop up it's all about the burger! Totally worth the stop!

Had their catering at an event - their burgers are really good, and they were quick to serve everyone!

We were excited to try Tripp Burgers at a popup tent at Three Weavers Brewery. Could they live up to the hype? They did! BF declared it the best burger he's had in L.A.! I had their grilled cheese option - very nice. Great service.

Recently smashed one of these burgers at Three Weavers Brewing. Pretty solid! Only complaint is they made us wait pretty long to take a break. Good patties, nice onions, soft bun. Worth trying if you see it around. Get a double.

Flight delayed and figured I would go for a 4th time to Tripp's Pop Up. Same as before. Great. I was going to take a picture, but I ate it up too fast.

Baaaaaad service. Unnecessary poor customer service. Guy's got a chip on his shoulder. Spend your money on someone who will appreciate your support.

What I ordered: Double cheeseburger (smash burger) Why I showed up: George Motz was on the griddle today! Taste: Excellent. The onions were perfect. The patties were great and the cheese on bun combo almost had a grilled cheese + burger feel. Tripp's is in my top five burgers in the city. Experience: Fine. I'd prefer to have a burger with some fries, which maybe we could've gotten from Boomtown Brewery. Waited about 10-15 minutes for some double cheeseburgers. There were a bunch of ready order-ahead burgers and we did not order ahead. The aromas were mouthwatering and I took a video and watching the video I just took while standing by the grill, I felt like the video was not going to do these burgers justice. Customer service was good. I'm not a huge fan of pop-ups because you don't get as controlled of an atmosphere, so it was just fine overall. The burger itself was wrapped and not the most beautiful after wrapping, but not too drippy/messy and taste won out. Mood Before/After: I felt excited before the burger. I was satisfied after. Felt like a good start to my evening and was energetic. Fullness: Medium. It was filling enough that I didn't need more food, but I still kinda wish I had a few fries to share. What else did I eat/do today affecting my experience: I worked out a couple hours before the burger and had some leftovers; pizza and Caesar salad earlier in the day. I don't think it had a big impact on my experience.

This review is strictly for the service. If one were to look at the single/lower starred reviews, they have one thing in common; the service. I've attended a couple of events catered by Tripp Burger in the past and I've witnessed the owner's service or rather lack of it. The owner, Mark, lacks customer service. He's condescending and becomes irate if confronted about the wait time for his fare. One can tell from his responses to one starred reviews that he lacks any class. In his defense to wait time, he'll inflate his attendee numbers almost two-fold. In reality, he's unprepared to handle events due to the home-consumer-sized grill he uses. Instead of falsely doubling the number of attendees he claims to have served, he should double the size of his grill. That would definitely resolve the wait times. The owner thinks he's God's gift to smashburgers. Yes, the burgers are good. They're not quite as good as the smashburgers that you'll find from establishments like Amboy, For the Win, Goldburger, Burgers Never Say Die, The Win-Dow, Lowboy or Burbank Smashed. Even Smashed Jack Burger is better. You'll definitely receive service WITHOUT the attitude. Influencers, and businesses and individuals looking for burger catering services take heed. Protect your reputation and look elsewhere.

I was introduced to trippburgers I believe a little bit after they 1st opened ( I didn't write a review then due to stress in my life ) and I was literally blown away by the flavor of the double cheese burger ( I believe that is what I had or mabe a single cheese burger ... stress is %$#@ ! on the memory ) , it's the combination of the quality of the meat ( OMG ! ) & the bun & cheese . It is SOOOO DeLiCiOuS ‼ that you don't need any condiments ( I recommend you have it that way 1st for your 1st experience ) Yesterday I FiNALLY ! was able to return to again experience Tripp BLiSS ! I devoured 2 double cheese burgers ! with a fine red ale beverage from El Segundo Brewery . Needless to say Trippburgers did NOT disappoint . If you find any HATERS in the reviews i believe they are just JELOUS that such a DeLiCiOuS burger was created on this planet and they didn't do it themselves . We had Tripp Burger cater my husband's 50th birthday party at home and it was the best decision! We had a backyard pool party so we wanted something tasty and low key, these burgers definitely fit the bill. Mark, the business owner, is prompt, communicative, and efficient with his pagers. Everyone had a great time and Mark was a pleasure to work with! Thanks again!

Caught them set up at LA Ale Works. Everyone was saying they were really good so I had to give it a try. When I tell you that was a good burger, THAT WAS A GOOD BURGER! It was a smooshed patty. The patty was so flavorful and juicy! I got a a double patty w/ cheese. Then I added my own mustard & pickles. I inquired about lettuce but the cool advised me It didn't need salad on it aha I was like yeaaa OKAY. He was right ahah it really didn't even need the mustard and pickles it was that flavorful! But you know the mustard and pickle took it over the top! It was filling too. I didn't get chip but you can definitely purchase it w/ chips! Definitely recommend.

This is the best smashburger in LA. It's not a close contest when you break it all down. So, let's get a few things out of the way first: - This is not a cheap burger - There are not a ton of fixings available by design - Side dish options a small bag of chips that comes complimentary with your burger - Saucing up the burger is not smiled upon - and outright banned for some of Tripp's specialty burgers like the Westchester Everything I just listed is actually not a negative. - The quality of the meat is a cut above high-end restaurants. You're getting USDA prime cuts, sirloin, and a little bacon blended by a master butcher in each patty for a distinct flavor. - I repeat: The meat is the star of the show. If you slathered it in a ton of fixings or sauces you can't taste the thing you're paying $8+ dollars for. A little is ok, but a lot like most burgers come standard with is not! - Put another way: If you bought a nice ribeye steak and dipped it in Ketchup the only thing you'd taste is ketchup and the texture of the meat. You're waving goodbye to the real flavor. I've been going to Tripp's for more than a year and it's become a favored destination. It's helped me appreciate what I love in a burger. I think it says a lot about the quality that I feel full but not heavy or bloated after downing a Tripp burger and a bottle of water. Culturally, we've been conditioned to tolerate lesser-quality meat because we disguise it in a bunch of cheaper ingredients. So if you're in the area and looking to grab a bite, trust me, you won't be disappointed.

The burger is not worth $14 to eat on the street. The burgers are dry and I got sick from this place. The old man working the counter was very rude and hostile.

Tripp Burgers are the real deal! They are right in my neighborhood on Palms and Sepulveda. First off Mark and Brock are really cool guys. We had a great conversation about Yelp which was very enlightening. Now to the burger. These Smashburgers are some of the very Best in LA. I ordered a double with cheese and no onions. The meat was seasoned to perfection and was juicy and flavorful. The bun was great also. I just added pickles and ketchup and it was perfect. Was it worth all the hype? Absolutely! So do yourself a favor and go get yourself a Tripp burger. You won't be disappointed.

Slowly trying to check off my fairly lengthy list of L.A. burger spots to try. Up next for me was Tripp Burgers, which is a literal pop up outfit on the sidewalk next to the CVS/Trader Joe's on Sepulveda. Based on the pictures I saw both on Yelp and social media that Tripp's smashburgers were pretty thin, so I opted for for the 3-Stack (i.e., triple cheeseburger) with fried onions. Turns out that a the amount of meat in their triple cheeseburger is actually pretty damn substantial! Comparatively, one of these patties is probably a little more meat than your typical In-N-Out patty. As for the burger itself, the meat patties had a strong meaty flavor to it but not overly salted. They say that there is a hint of pork in the patty and you can definitely taste that bacon in it. The American cheese slices certainly took a backseat to the meat. They also give you raw onions, pickles, ketchup, and mustard on the side, which helps contrast the meatiness of the patties. And I thought the burger definitely was better for having the fried onions! At $9 for a single, $12 for a double, and $16 for my 3-Stack, you are definitely paying a premium price for the product. But given the quality of beef (they use USDA Prime) and the fact that it is a pop-up operation, I'm ok paying that amount on occasion. You can tell Mark takes a lot of pride in owning this pop up. He was really friendly and guided us through the menu as first timers. Also gave us a free sticker and a stamp card! And there are clearly a lot of regulars that come here, as we noted with the line that Parking is easy since it's right next to the CVS/Trader Joe's. Should not be a problem even on a busy day. Tripp Burgers is good, but I want to keep searching to see what else is out there with L.A.'s vast burger options.

Tried this spot out after a recommendation from a fellow foodie. They were parked right outside Trader Joe's on Sepulveda so lots of room for parking and dining on your trunk, which was a positive. Service was great and the owner along with the chef were very friendly and attentive to my order. In terms of the burger it tasted unique and had a nice char on the sides of the patty. The bun had a sweetness and they blended well together. The burger itself was a bit small however, and the cheese slice I got was the same. For $14 after tax and tip, I just expected a bit more. Overall, a friendly place and I did get a cool sticker and loyalty card.

I have worked with Mark and his team for years now and for multiple parties. They are true professionals, serving delicious food. Their setup is clean, service is orderly and friendly! I recommend them, and plan on using them for future events!

This is one of the best burgers in LA. Tripp's proprietary blend of prime chuck, top sirloin, and bacon, combined with American cheese on a soft Martin's potato bun is simple, focused, perfection. The staff is friendly and the service is great. I've tried most of the top rated burgers in LA and this one has me coming back for more. Enjoy!

You know when an out of towner visits and complains about the people and that everything is a rip off? And you say "No! This city is so much more than that!"? And then you go to a place like this and spend $14 for a nothing special burger with no fries or sauce or anything else, and you have to deal with their rude service, and you realize that out of towner is talking exactly about these guys. Don't bother, this place is a bad Tripp.

Attitude was off the charts. The burgers are ok, not like they invented a smash burger, but they certainty act like they do. WestChester comes without anything on it, owner literally refused to let me put anything on it so I gave to my dog. It couldn't stand up on its own. For $20 I'll do whatever what I want with it. Oh and Frito-Lay is the best you can do for sides?

I would be 1/2 satisfied if this tiny double burger was $5 but it was $16 for the smallest burger I've ever had. It wasn't terrible but I feel violated.

This place is so close to the house and was DYING to love it BUT... didn't hit the mark. I am a smash burger snob and looked forward to trying this place but sadly wasn't a fan. The meat was EXTREMELY UNDERSEASONED, the meat had absolutely NO MAILLARD / CRUST/ SEAR like any smash burger would as I will show in a picture. AND.... on top of having 0 seasoning or crust it has a 12 DOLLAR PRICE TAG and is on the side walk when comparable actual brick and mortar restaurant that charges less than half the price for theirs. Will stick to BNSD and brick-burger for now if I have the salty smash burger craving... I even got an extra burger anticipating it will be a "Smash Hit" burger but was a total waste and had to throw it away... thought I could give it to my beagle but it has onions oh well

Solid burger but par. Nothing crazy. Not cravingly good. Just another LA smash burger. Also on the pricier side. Burger could be seasoned more. Bread needs to be bigger. The burger is smashed pretty well and quality of the meat is solid, but taste isn't quite there. This place also needs fries as an option. They serve potato chips instead. Unique but isn't best compatible with a burger IMO. Potato chips with burgers remind me of those family BBQ outings we eat at a park. Maybe that's the taste they're going for? High priced burger with low cost chips? Meh. I'll pass. Overall 5/10. Would I come back? Probably not. Is it worth a try? Sure.

Literally the best burger in existence, yes it's better than Heavy handed and burgers never say die. You have to try it. Also the owner is a true burger guy, he knows how to make it right and he'll teach you.

It rings similarly to the in-person experience, chaotic, rude, and inexperienced. My wife DID check in with you at the 30 minute mark. You mansplained the functionality of the pager and told her to go away and wait for it to buzz. We waited another thirty minutes and I gave up. You would have too, be honest with yourself. Funny situation for me now because at this point you've been rude here on Yelp in front of potential customers AND you're stuck in the booth at Tripps next time I see you out. I promise to say hello. Learn to manage your orders. Learn to accept feedback. :Original review starts here: I'm a patient person but grilled cheese should not take sixty minutes. I'm the guy who returned his order pager and took just the bag of chips included with my grilled cheese I ordered at LA Ale Works tonight. I'm genuinely sorry to leave a negative review but the delay was just too much for such a simple order. There has got to be a better way to manage orders.

Came to this place on my lunch break a co worker and I. We were craving a burger, in particular a smashed burger. So, I found this place on Yelp and they had decent reviews. So I arrive to their little pop up cart and I proceeded to order the double smash with cheeses and grilled onions, chips and bottle coke. In total for two orders bill came out to be around $43 I believe. I mean, the burger was okay but definitely not worth the price, for sure!

There are A LOT of smash burgers in LA. But Tripp stands out for a couple of reasons. 1) The blend of the beef. They use top sirloin, chuck, and a little bacon to make the burger. Any good burger should taste amazing on it's own without any condiments- it's a deal breaker if the meat isn't great. Well, this meat blend is fantastic 2) The fried onions. It's not like onion rings, but thinly sliced onions fried up on the flat top. They get crispy and add a different dimension of flavor and texture to the burger. Other than that, pretty standard stuff. Crispy edges. Condiments available (but honestly, it's better without...let the burger speak for itself). I'm loving all the LA street food available, and Tripp Burger are no exception. The burgers are a bit pricey, but the quality is there and you get a bag of chips included.

New to L.A, I was looking for a quick meal for the night and decided to give this place a try and am glad I did! Mark's burger blend really speaks for itself and makes this burger stand out from the rest. You can really taste the quality in the meat and while I personally enjoy a little more seasoning on my burgers, I will be coming back here often because the quality, care, and simplicity in the ingredients is superb. For this stop I got myself a double with the fried onions smashed in. I also really enjoyed the potato roll used for the burger. Really added a different dimension to the burger you don't find anywhere else. I see a hatch Chile burger on the menu coming soon according to the website and look forward to trying that soon.

First time back in LA in a couple years. Tripp Burger for lunch. Squishy bun, crispy burger edges and bacony flavor. Delicious! Highly recommended!

Decided to finally try it out after walking past on a walk and it doesn't disappoint at all! Nice guys who run it and the burger blend was fantastic. Will be having this as a nice neighborhood treat every now and then!

Hot. Juicy. Delicious. I knew first bite would need to be just simple: meat cheese bun. And before I knew it, my double stack was already gone. The burger is everything that everyone said it would be. Cooking it on a flat top is perfect. The grilled cheese was a like a hockey puck of cheesy goodness. The guys working were sociable and friendly, and now we have our handy dandy punch card to use going forward. The Untz brand chips were a great add-on too. Can't wait for my next trip.

Love these burgers, the meat tastes like quality meat and I personally LOVE smash burgers a lot so whenever they're close to me I always try to go. The service is 10/10 would always go again and the employees are always very nice and helpful when you're trying to pick what you want or even having a nice little chit chat while waiting for your food to be ready.

Bread was soft and melted perfectly against cheese but the burger was under seasoned and grilled onions needed to be cooked longer - disappointing and won't return - fix those 2 issues and it's a win

Hands down my favorite burger in LA! The owner Mark is an awesome dude who makes the most delicious burgers. The burgers are made from a mix of ground beef and bacon, American cheese and Martin'apotato rolls, (I'm from the east coast and was pleasantly surprised to see them serving on Martin's!!) You can add chopped onions, pickles, mustard (and ketchup) The charred edges of the smash burger add another level of flavor!! They are usually at Palms and Sepulveda and regularly set up at local breweries. Can't beat good beer and burgers. Ask for a stamp card, every 10th burger is free. My wife and I have gone through 5 cards! 12/10 rec

It's a perfectly serviceable burger grilled on a propane cooktop with small patties (make sure to order a double or a triple or a quadruple), and while I ordinarily love cheese of all kinds, this sure tasted a lot like Kraft Singles to me as opposed to something more tasty, let alone interesting. With Los Angeles being the home of a zillion tasty burgers, the main appeal here seems to be the fact that they're a burger stand as opposed to something more common??

This is hands down the best burger on the west side. Smooshed, not smashed, crispy fringe on a juicy and subtly smokey patty of beef and bacon (yes, I said bacon) set on a bed of caramelized onions and cradled in the pillow that is a Martin's potato roll, this is a meat eaters burger. It doesn't need any thing else added. If anything do like the guy who created this does; add some pickles (best I've had on the west coast) and mustard. Catsup is not recommended. Trust me. Part of the magic is the patina on the grill, that's where there magic happens. These burgers are primal perfection and the first burger I've had for lunch in years where I want to go back and have another for dinner.

Tripp is a burger pop-up located right outside of CVS on Sepulveda and Palms -- love supporting small businesses! You get to see everything cooked fresh right in front of you as well! Ordered a double fried onion cheeseburger. The burgers come with a bag of chips of your choice (different types of potato chips), and all condiments on the side for you to add on your own. Would personally love if they started serving fries though, I think that'd go so well with the burgers! The burger was delicious. The fried onion gets smashed into the patty when it's on the grill. The buns are so light and fluffy, and toasted nicely. The only drawback would be that the burger is pretty small and kind of pricey!! I had actually gotten a single patty, but my boyfriend insisted that it wouldn't be enough for me -- he had tried the burgers before and also thought they were small. So I doubled up on the patty. He was absolutely right, it wasn't super filling :( so definitely something to consider if you're going there with an empty stomach! Tripp definitely has a good burger to try! But again, just a little bit on the pricier side for smaller sized burgers. Would definitely be more filling if the side was French fries instead of chips though!

Mark Tripp is a serious burger connoisseur. A true chef artisan who has spent the better part of a decade perfecting his pure and simple all-American cheeseburger. What I love about Chef Tripp's zen recipe is his back to the basics simplicity approach of: it's all about the meat. His secret ingredient? (besides sourcing his sirloin from Bob's Market in Santa Monica) Little pieces of bacon ground into the patty that gives it that distinct smokey blast of juicy juicy bacon that blasts the flavor all around your mouth. Now, I've always been a fan of various condiments (I'd be lying if I said I didn't squirrel away In-N-Out spread packets in my fridge) however, on the advice of Chef Tripp, I had my single cheeseburger with only a side of pickles and mustard. However, I took my first bite without any condiments at all and for the first time in my life I finally got to taste what great succulent delicate top sirloin tastes like. Wow. Like fireworks above Dodgers Stadium. After that first plain bite, I took a 2nd bite with pickle and mustard, then a 3rd bite with just pickle. They all rocked my world however for the rest of my cheeseburger I only took plain bites and then nibbled on a bite of pickle or some salt & vinegar UTZ potato chips (shipped from Pennsylvania ;). I also had 1 of Chef's Tripp's "Fried-Onion Cheeseburgers" (which was exactly like the single cheeseburger, but with very thinly sliced strings of Sweet-Onion that's smashed into the chuck patty). It was just as great but honestly, the OG single is where it's at. And the bun. Don't let me forget about the bun. Chef Tripp's bun dominates as the #1 best hamburger bun I've ever had --better than Shake Shack, better than In-N-Out, better than brioche, better than Hawaiian bun, better than anything, really. Why? Because Chef Tripp uses Martin's Famous Dutch Sandwich Potato Roll, which he gets from 1000 Potato Roll Lane I kid you not. Now y'all might be reading this thinking my last name is Tripp or that Chef Tripp and I worked together at some point but naw, I found out about Tripp Burgers when I googled: "Best burgers in San Fernando Valley" and bam. There's a new burger game is in town. Tripp Burgers. And driving from the Valley to Palms/ Sepulveda on a Saturday afternoon was definitely worth the trip. "This burger IS a Tripp."

I found Tripp Burger because it's posted up outside of my apartment complex. Little did I know this would become my new favorite burger. Mark, Brock, Ian and the whole team are the most down to earth guys and you can tell they really care about the business and the quality of their burgers. Sometimes they also have collabs with other local pop ups -- one of which had THE BEST fresh sourdough bread. Highly recommend!

As a burger fanatic, I love trying new burgers and hope to find the best burger in LA (in my opinion of course)! I conveniently came across this pop-up shop on a leisurely drive to CVS. When I saw the tents, I checked Yelp and saw all the great reviews and had to check it out for myself. The burger was absolutely delicious and all the condiments complimented the entirety of it. I got the Deep-Fried Onion Double Cheese Burger and Chips w/pickles, ketchup, and mustard; I would recommend nothing less than a double due to the "smashed" state of the patties. The only reason this shop gets the rating I'm giving it is because of the limited side options. They have 2 sets of potato chips that were, in my opinion, lacking. Not only in flavor (I got "The Crab Chip"), but it didn't match up to the standard of the burger that the shop is providing. For the price, the quality of the burger is worth it but the chips are not. A good side to compliment the level of the burger would phenomenal. As for location, it is very convenient with a lot of parking options and all safety measures are enforced at this shop (Right off the sidewalk and with plenty of space). The staff was very friendly and there was hardly a wait for the burger. You get to enjoy the aroma as it is on the grill and watch the process at the same time. It was a great burger and I would recommend to try it at least once!

Best real smash burger on the west side next to The Window. You know it's good when you don't have to add condiments to your burger. I live in mar vista and If I ever want a smash burger I drive to Tripp. 10/10 good service and burger

No frills burger stand that I'm thankful to have in walking distance from me! Think In N Out - smash burger style. They keep it simple with a high quality ground beef/bacon patty. You know what you're getting here and they do it well. The highlight here to me is the Tripp family. They're super cool dudes and always treat their customers like friends. It might not be something you need to drive miles out of your way to check out, but if you happen to be in the neighborhood, it's worth a stop to grab a burger and say hi!
