"Giulietta Carrelli, the owner of the Outer Sunset’s Trouble Coffee, echoes Crabbe’s and Melvin’s observations, saying that for her shop, 'business is about the same, it’s just the timing that’s different. Mornings are dead, but afternoons are packed.'" - Eve Batey

"This place has the same naming issues as Shake Shack because while their coffee is great, it’s their toast that keeps us coming back. The slices of bread are super thick and covered in butter and cinnamon sugar in a way that, if you did this at home, it would probably take you a week to clean up. Then get a fresh coconut to wash it down or maybe actually opt for coffee instead because theirs is fantastic." - Will Kamensky

We visited family for the weekend trip in Bayview and this spot was our go-to for an excellent brew. They're open early, even on Sunday! Nice quality coffee. The owners of the establishment are very personable as well! Quite the gem of a location! After the first day, within moments of sipping the brew, this would be our ritual for the duration our stay. A nice brisk walk with my 4yo son and quality brew in hand...MAGIC. The husband/wife duo are friendliest owners/baristas you will have ever come into contact with. Their genuine smile and appreciation for their patrons come a long way in customer service. All of their bakery items are very fresh and the fact that their menu is limited gives them a chance to make their offerings really shine. Their Texas-sized toast with butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar is the sure-fire winner. You will be hard-pressed to find a local establishment literally tucked into a sidewalk divot push out such quality product. Thank you so much and we DEARLY miss you out here in St Louis, MO!

This place is a hit or miss with the service as far as the workers and there attitude. Coffee is good toast is good when make with care not with attitude. The lady with the glasses is very nice and helpful. On the other hand the gentleman that works there is lazy and very rude I think he should be replaced if he doesn't want to work there. I would give them 5 stars if it wasn't for him

Maybe the best, delicious coffee in the city. BUT the staff is Rude. Being the only awaiting customer, the clerk didn't greet me or try to take my order for well over a minute while she finished a gossipy conversation. And after I placed the order, she didn't say a word... Importantly, the amount, just stretched out her palm in demand. A similar experience( with the passive attention while talking ) happened the two and only other times I've been at this location.

the place is TINY but they have a parklet outside which is convenient on nice days. Good service. They don't have a menu so you have to know before you go. The toast lives up to the hype; cinnamon sugar and butter on thick pillowy bread is divine. I also got the honey and peanut butter which was good; they put a good amount on, so it will be dripping with either butter or honey.

Keep in mind that there is no menu in the tiny coffee shop---but there is a outside front patio. Toast is superb and condiments are on the right side of the entrance. They also don't associate with coupon programs such as Chinook Book. So please keep in mind. Oh yeah, they do coconuts too.

Maybe good if you like ULTRA dark roasts, but not my style at all. Cappucino was super foamy. Great atmosphere, great people.

I finally tried the cinnamon toast and it was delicious. It's not something I could eat regularly, but everyone should try it once. The coffee's always good.

Cute parklet outside. Tasty toast and good latte, though kinda pricey for the portion imo. I'm not from SF though so maybe the prices are normal.
