Open for brunch, lunch, and dinner, the restaurant serves vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free food with a focus on ingredients that are sustainable and organic. Google
10 out of 10! Upscale fancy dining atmosphere, without the ridiculous upscale prices! We were expecting it to be VERY pricey because the quality of the ingredients is literally unmatched (the only organic, grass-fed, seed-oil-free restaurant I know of), but we were surprised that each item was only $2-3 more than you would pay anywhere else! My hubby gives it a 7/10, which is REALLY good for him, because he doesn’t even LIKE New American cuisine at all! (Which he calls “white people food”.) On top of the lovely refined atmosphere, we both LOVED the food, and the service was prompt and excellent! I got the American Burger with the Cheesy Mashed Potatoes side, the Pomegranate Spritzer, and the Guacamole and pita bread appetizer. He got a poke bowl and the Margherita Pizza. We shared the Cosmic Bliss Lemon Sorbet and Seasonal Strawberry Tart at the end. Again, EVERYTHING was SO GOOD! I didn’t even get pictures of the food because we ate it so fast! We’re already planning on returning next weekend!

Google
This place is delicious! We got the Ahi tuna bowl which was freshly cut prior to lunch. We also got the Grass Fed burger with a side of pesto pasta. So, so good! Finally, we came during brunch and extra hungry so we opted for the hash rancher. We can't believe this place serves pasture raised eggs! They use such clean ingredients but makes it taste so good -- just like our home cooking. Extra special thanks to Chef Alec for making our experience memorable. We will definitely be back!

Google
This was our first time coming here & man it was amazing !! It is black owned!! the atmosphere was nice , the music was GREAT! the food was very tasty and seasoned to perfection. Kevin was our server and he was very attentive, helpful with choosing our meals, and gave great recommendations. Our food came out in a timely manner. Kevin also kept our drinks full as we ordered the mimosa carafe. He deserves all of the tips!!

Olga Figueroa

Google
The atmosphere is great and so is the food. However, the highlight of my experience was being served by Yiyi. She provided EXCEPTIONAL service, nit only yo myself but to her entire section. She gave me specific details on each dish which made me want to buy everything on the menu.

Google
We are visiting from New York City and were looking for a place to eat brunch and we are so glad we came here! If you’re looking for a place to eat that has healthy food with only clean ingredients (also many vegan and gluten-free options available), exceptional service, and an amazing atmosphere EAT HERE! Danny our waiter gave us the best service we have ever had at a restaurant. He began by telling us the history of the restaurant, which is something that we’ve never experienced before at any restaurant and that really told us that they go the extra mile in serving and caring about their customers as well as giving them the best, well-rounded experience possible! Danny explained to us that all of the ingredients in True Food Kitchen’s food contains no seed oils, includes only pasture raised eggs and only grass fed meats, which is RARE and we truly value having only clean ingredients in our food. I ordered the Southwest Tofu Scramble and my husband ordered the Rancher’s Hash, both the best meals we have had on our trip so far! Thank you to the team at True Food Kitchen for such a memorable and delicious brunch experience, next time we are in town we will be back!

Google
I had an AMAZING lunch today! I have been accommodated by the professional and super positive upbeat manager Ken. Thank you Ken for the incredible unforgettable experience today and service was incredible food was delicious and the restaurants environment was very pleasant. I will definitely be back with friends & colleagues! Highly recommend.

Google
This establishment is truly exceptional. It offers a fresh, nutrient-rich alternative to some of your most cherished dishes. As of now, my favorites include the lasagna, chicken parmesan, and the Thai chicken bowl. I anticipate exploring the entire menu in the near future.

Google
My first time at True Food Kitchen. My server, Riley, was happy to recommend the avocado toast with salmon, and it was delicious! He was very nice and attentive. The cappuccino was great, as well. The atmosphere was bright and extremely clean. Overall, great experience. I will be back.

Kaylee R.

Yelp
I absolutely love true food kitchen! My favorite dish is the lasagna bolognese and ancient grains bowl. Definitely recommend coming here

Aasha B.

Yelp
Great food! Nice ambience and great customer service! Riley is a great waiter! Thank you

Yelp
The salad was pretty standard. The salmon was really good! I'm not the biggest fan of fruit within my salad. But, it was overall fine. I will have to say, this is known as a really healthy restaurant. They will not serve you fries or soda. The interior is really nice and modern. Seating is around 50 people. I sat there for 20 minutes waiting for the check. I think that the waiter tried his best and he might have thought we wanted to chat more. Otherwise, service was fine.

Yelp
Great, wide-open concept where you can really appreciate the windows that surround you. The food was really quite good. The waitress was good enough to make some solid recommendations for us regarding what to order and also would not to order. We were very happy to receive that information and it made for a much better experience. Good service and good quality. This place is kind of tucked away in the corner of a large shopping center but make sure you seek it out.

Yelp
General: True Food Kitchen has multiple locations all over the nation, all of which have a similar decor and feel to it. I would describe it as a hippy health conscious restaurant. Good: - Interior is a bit smaller than I had anticipated but clean. - Service was good. - Located in a good plaza with many other restaurants. Bad: - Food quality is not worth the price. - At first glance, the food might look healthy but it's drenched in oil. - Meatloaf was a bit salty. - Chicken and turkey was dry. Overall: I liked the El Segundo location, but something feels off at this location. Other Notables: - There is additional parking in the garage around the corner. Make sure to walk to the correct side. We ended up walking around the whole building.

Yelp
The food was amazing. The hostess sat my friend and I within seconds of stepping into the restaurant. The ambiance was very calm and quiet, perfect place for my friend and I to catch up. Our waitress Yusur was super attentive and helpful when we had some questions about the menu. I had not been to true food in a very long time and I can't remember why when the service and the food were amazing. Will make it a point to stop by more often. My friend loved the curry and shrimp. Parking was so easy and the restaurant is very spacious. They have a great patio area as well.

Yelp
True Kitchen is a great place to eat for everyone! 1. If you're a health conscious eater on a specific diet or just want food that's less processed- true kitchen has something for you ! My coworkers and I came during lunch. Lots of seating for a lunch rush. We were greeted and served very quickly. If we were in a rush this would be a great place to be in and out. Luckily we weren't on a rush I had a peach tea which was refreshing My coworker had iced tea and surprisingly they had two options to make his iced tea , which was cool we've never been given options before I ordered the bougie blanco pizza ! For a pizza with no meat it was delicious! Very filling! Loved how the flavors came together Like I said, we weren't in a rush so of course we got dessert! I ordered the blueberry crumbles sundae and it was again DELICIOUS!!! Loved the atmosphere and our waiter !

Yelp
Nut allergy friendly for what I ordered, but several of the salads have nuts. Parking: Parking is misleading from Google Maps. Have to loop around back to the parking garage if you want to avoid valet. Parking outside Whole Foods is time limited to 20 minutes! Order-To-Food: Crazy fast, 7 minutes. Service was fast and polite. The food came out so fast that I highly suspect it was just reheated. I understand that this is a "healthy" spot, but I didn't realize healthy meant flavorless and dry. I ordered the Chicken Tender Plate which came with kale (which was fine) and four tenders. Frankly, this is ridiculous for the price. I'd rather go to Cane's. It's super loud in the restaurant since it's an open kitchen and you can hear all of the shouting. Paid via inKind app with no issues.

Yelp
If you're looking for healthy bites in a setting that still gives all the feels of an atypical brunch spot, True Food Kitchen is the way to go! I got here on a Sunday at 2pm with a friend and instead of valet parking ($7 or $10, I forgot), we parked in the garage for free. As we walked in, the host sat me down and I was impressed by how airy, clean and spacious TFK was. There was plenty of seating as they weren't crowded. Had the weather been better, we would have sat outside on the patio. It took a little while for someone to come over and serve us. The young lady we had was new (so exercising grace to her), so the service was very, very slow. She also wasn't well versed on the menu so we just took a chance on what to order. We started with the edamame dumplings, and for my meal, I got the vegan burger. I also got green tea and the O.G refresher. Our food took almost 30 minutes to come out and it was so painful to wait. I just didn't understand what was taking so long because it was relatively empty. The food was really good but I sent the O.G refresher back because something seemed to be missing from it. Despite the mediocre service and extremely cold temperature in the restaurant, I enjoyed the experience overall.

Yelp
Staff is incredibly kind. Something I love about this place is you are welcome to make any substitutions you like! (Certain charges may apply) But I hate when I can't accommodate food to my diet, and this place allows for that. The menu is healthy, ingredients are fresh, and you feel good after eating here.

Zenab C.

Yelp
Great healthy food options. We need more places like this in Houston. The ambience is great and I think they have valet parking

Paige S.

Yelp
Just had the best healthy lunch. Riley was great very intentional with his service ! Clean establishment 10/10

Yelp
Went to have brunch for the first time and it was amazing. Riley was a phenomenal waiter.

Yelp
I got the Margherita Pizza togo on my 4th time ever coming here since 2020. It used to be amazing until 2021 when they seemed to change it. The basil, cheese and sauce were great on my pizza, but the crust was too dry, very bland, really pale and tough rather than being like a soft pita bread with some chew or like a crispy thin crust pizza. My pizza also looked smaller than before as well. The service was great on this visit again.

Yelp
Wow great customer service, delicious drinks (highly recommend the Clear Mary) - this is my new favorite spot! Great place to take a vegetarian. Big menu

Yelp
New to this place for a vegan, gluten-free person it's hard to find both selections at the same place, but this place did offer both!!! not worrying about food, allergens or anything healthy clean eating at its best. I highly recommend this place. It's so close to the galleria. They recommend us to this place... healthy eating at its best!!!! The ambience, Customer service to the restrooms super clean (super important ) Our main entrées 1- plant base double cheese hamburger on gluten-free bun and side of vegan mac & cheese can't get better than that. My son had the 2- grassgrass fed burger and the vegan mac & cheese so you have both worlds if you want plant based / GF or if you want regular beef and here's the BEST PART DRUM ROLL we topped it off with a flourless cake AND VEGAN /Dairy free vanilla ice cream !!!! We felt no shame we enjoyed each piece . Kudos to our server India she was phenomenal and awesome character. It's always awesome to be able to have a conversation like their part of your table. I highly recommend this place on your next visit to Houston and the Galleria. I apologize. I did not take a picture of our dessert but trust me it is worth eating it and going to the place to find out.

Jay A.

Yelp
My family of 4 walked in tonight on Christmas Eve. 30 minutes before closing. No hostess was present. No one was at the bar...HOWEVER one of the servers stepped up..invited us to have a seat near by and offered top notch service. Riley was his name. Ask for him. Tip him. Simply doing his job, being kind, and helping us enjoy a quick bite. Manager--if you see this...give him props, an extra bonus, etc...excellent service!
google avatar

Amy S.

Yelp
Love this place! So many vegetarian and gluten free options! My favorite thing on the menu is the Pink Tart. I also love the spaghetti squash casserole! Both menu items are flavor and delicious! The service can be a little slow when they are slammed but that is to be expected! Their takeout service is quick and efficient! Love the ambiance and their patio is great!

Yelp
Unfortunately, for the price of the food, I expected much more in terms of quality and flavor.. I ordered the meatloaf, smoked salmon, and the strawberry crumble dessert. The best part of the meal was the meatloaf. I enjoyed the preparation of the meat, but felt like there needed to be more flavor..Maybe a more standout sauce? The loaf didn't really mesh well with the potatoes which were largely flavorless. 4/5 for the meatloaf though. I next tried the smoked salmon on toast and was immediately put off. The smoked salmon was very fishy & metal tasting..Almost like a tuna or canned sardine taste. That made me a little worried as I eat smoked salmon often and it doesn't typically have this strong fishy-metallic aftertaste. Not sure what that was, but I didn't finish the smoked salmon because of this. With the dessert, my ice-cream was melted..I don't totally hold that against the restaurant, as I did order takeout, but I live 2 minutes from the restaurant, so it's clear the food was sitting out for a while. Perhaps in the future, restaurants can keep temp-sensitive foods like icecream, in the freezer for takeout orders, until customers arrive. My main gripe was with the crumble dessert itself. It was soggy and very wet. Not crumble-like at all.. The texture was literal mush and I couldn't eat it because of that. The texture just wasn't pleasant. For $10 I expected much more. I felt that the price of the food was way too high for the end-quality. I'll stick to some other local favorites in the area.

Yelp
Lots of healthy options. Inside is cute and modern. Took a long time for food to be ready though . Also a bit expensive for what you get (portion size wise). Tastes good

Ingrid H.

Yelp
I ordered chicken parm - it was $21 but it's only as small as my palm. Def feel like this is a bit overpriced. My friend ordered the ancient grain bowl with grilled chicken - it looked pretty good. Maybe I'll order that next time if I do come back.

Tamara P.

Yelp
Service was poor today. I've never been to this establishment had bad service however today was one of those days. A waiter and waitress walked past me and did not offer water or anything. I had to finally ask who was the waitress/waiter for this table Finally someone came out told me she wasn't the waitress she was just helping out.(how nice) The manager came out and didn't check to see if I had been assisted however he checked on two other tables but walked right past me. Also no one wears a name tag so I can't say who walked past me. As always food is good and I'm sure I will be back.
google avatar

Maggie S.

Yelp
I love true food kitchen so much. It might be a little pricier but the quality of everything is so worth it. I split the truffle sourdough pizza and edamame dumplings. Both were amazing!! I also highly recommend getting the sourdough cookie, it is incredible!
google avatar

Brettny J.

Yelp
I got the hummus with gluten free bread to start. The bread tasted good, was soft, but smelled weird. The hummus was okay.. kind of bland. I got the Bougie Blanco pizza gluten free and subbed the arugula for onions. It was pretty good but again bland.. needs more of the honey and truffle. You can't even see the truffle. It's like little bits under the sauce/cheese. And the gluten free chocolate cake... fudgey/sticky and dry at the same time, taste meh, and taste of the ice cream meh. The waiter we had was nice but disappeared for like 20 minutes before we ordered.
google avatar

Diane M.

Yelp
We made a reservation on OpenTable for 12:00 pm and were seated immediately upon arrival. We started with the charred cauliflower. It was delicious. The Panang curry with antibiotic-free chicken added was extremely flavorful. My husband had the Ancient Grains bowl with grass-fed steak added and he raved about it! My daughter had the glass noodles bowl with tofu added. She wasn't impressed with that. It's their version of Korean chapjae and was pretty bland. They do not offer fountain drinks so I just drank water. My husband and daughter both had a peach lemonade ($5.50 each). Overall, nice environment and flavorful food but pricey. We spent $110 before tip.
google avatar

Donna C.

Yelp
First time in and it was phenomenal. I selected it because it offers vegan - tasty and healthy - vegan options. I had the vegan burger (no bun) on a side salad. It's was fab! And probably 5 WW points (if you are dieting). We finished with the pink tart - vegan! Basically, it was a homemade key lime tart. Again, excellent. I would not hesitate to offer either to a non vegan - it's that's good! Go! Eat! Enjoy!

Yelp
I didn't dine there but was there for picking up order. The staff there was very thoughtful and gave me a cup of tea while I was waiting. Because of his friendliness and kindness, I'll definitely come try this place out! Inside the vibe is awesome! Will review foods next time but I can see that service here is good! Love it and keep up the good work! Cheers

Yelp
Delicious place for lunch on a Sunday! At noon on Sunday, this restaurant had lots of open availability and my party was seated immediately. We ordered our food and drinks. Quick and attentive service throughout our meal. The food was delicious, this is a very healthy choice and you can tell the food was made with high quality ingredients. Everything was delicious but you should try the butternut squash soup, AHMAZING! I will be back.
google avatar

Amira J.

Yelp
Yes! There's no better feeling than eating out somewhere and knowing that you have an array of healthy options to pick from. Usually restaurants may have a "healthier options" section but nothing like i've seen here at True Food Kitchen. I came here on a Monday afternoon with a friend. It was busy but there was not a wait time. Vibes were airy and casual. We were seated right away and greeted. We started with margaritas and the edamame dumplings. Never thought to put edamame inside dumplings but but this dish is a must try if you dine here. For my entree, I ordered the ancient grain bowl (add chicken) and my friend and I shared the chicken sausage pizza. Amazing, everything was so fresh, well seasoned and nicely paired. I was especially enthused by the miso glazed sweet potatoes. Wow, I mean I will definitely be returning to this place to try out other dishes. Thank you to everyone who made my first experience here so lovely :)

Chatorria T.

Yelp
Food is superb. Second time dining in and the waiter Riley was TRASH. We gave him $1 tip and he told another waiter about it as we were leaving. Yes sir we only left you $1 because you provided poor service. We will be back but we don't want you as our waiter.
google avatar

Ciara D.

Yelp
I did a solo lunch dine in and ordered the ancient grains bowl. The food does not match the price for me. It was bland and lacked flavor. I can't comment on device cause the restaurant was empty when I dined in. There is parking available which is a plus.
google avatar

Yelp
THE GOOD - Food was delicious, fresh and healthy! - Easy to get a table on a Easter Sunday at 4:30pm - Cute inside, nice decor and ambiance THE BAD - Wait time for food took around 40 minutes in an empty restaurant (only 2 other families) - Service wasn't great. Lots of mistakes and an angry chef that slammed things and caused loud commotions in kitchen. - Menu changes and they were out of a lot of the things on their Menu - No fountain drinks, no Coke or Pepsi, no refills. Only lemon lime or root beer olipop. - No active manager on site that seemed active or that checks in with tables Service wasn't that great. Our waiter made several mistakes. The food took very very long to come out but the restaurant was empty. Only 2 other smaller table there with us. Chef seemed to be upset as we witnessed him slam things and there were several loud noises coming from the kitchen. They were probably upset about 2 plates loudly falling and several other abrupt loud sounds. Angry chefs always give me trust issues about what they could do to our food if we were the ones to upset them. Or how they're treating the staff. They brought out a wrong plate and when questioned if this was what we ordered our waiter assured us that it was. But then later came back when we were halfway done with it that it was actually the wrong plate. They did let us take our original order to go but we had to wait for that as it never came out like he said it would. Someone forgot to get it to us until he checked in and then we waited some more to get it. We also ordered a side of potato's but that was never brought out but they still wanted to charge us for it. Had to let the waiter know to take it off. They also were "out" of a lot of things as they're changing the menu this week. This was annoying to not be able to get certain things that are on the Menu. So do note that the menu here changes often. Some of the pictures you see won't be available at another time. We hoped a manager would come by to check on us or to apologize but that never happened. Couldn't spot anyone that looked like they might be a manager to flag down either. Waiter might have been stretched too thin once it picked up a tiny bit more. Also they don't have any fountain drinks or drinks with refills on them. Burgers & Pizza on their menu but no coke or coke look a likes to accompany it. They do have Olipop but not the Cola kind. For 3 people we spent $17 on drinks (4 lemonades) Overall it wasn't great service or customer service. But the food was delicious. If it could have come out quicker and correct it would have been better. So be prepared to wait a long time for the food whether it's busy or not. Wouldn't come back for a special day. Only a casual day and one where we aren't already super hungry and have 45 minutes to spare without food.

Lindsey C.

Yelp
Food was absolutely amazing, I cant Say enough. I will be back again. I had the salmon an it was deliciou!
google avatar

Melodi D.

Yelp
Just okay. I wasn't super impressed by the quality nor the quantity of food here. The Teriyaki Quinoa Bowl was good, but not great, and definitely not worth the $28 I ended up paying for it (tax & 20% tip included). They also don't give you a lot of chicken, considering that it's an extra $5 to add it on. I also felt that there wasn't a lot of variety on the menu. Most dishes just contained different combinations of the same 10 ingredients. I did like the ambiance of the place--very clean and friendly. The service was pretty slow but not horrible.

cassie h.

Yelp
Love the heathy yet tasty selections. The curry and spaghetti squash are my favorite but haven't had a bad thing yet
google avatar

Kathryn Y.

Yelp
Love how they don't use seed oils and love the turkey burger, regular burger, and many other things on the menu. The pizzas and soup are great too. Always have great service - the last time we went we had a great server, so sad I forgot his name but he is from Hawaii and gave us some awesome recommendations for Hawaii.
google avatar

Juan P.

Yelp
Great food fast service and very chill atmosphere. Food is always fresh great selection of food and if you're looking for something Vegan this a great place for some vegan options. Check it out if you're in the area you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Yelp
Had a wonderful experience at TFK with one of my best friends! Really enjoyed the environment, customer service, & options. I was going to go with a burger but went with. -Tofu noodles. -Hummus No regrets here. The hummus was amazing, the olives were so freaking delicious! Wow! Def can't wait to go back. Thanks, True Foods, for the wonderful Vegan options!
google avatar

Alyssa H.

Yelp
This place was awesome! The menu was almost a little overwhelming because literally everything sounds good so it's a little hard to choose which is a good problem to have. I love restaurants that make good healthy food and that's exactly what this place does. We sat outside because it was a beautiful night. You leave here feeling satisfied but not as though you need to be rolled to your car because you're too full. Highly recommend!

Noel F.

Yelp
My wife and I had a wonderful experience there recently. The food is fresh and flavorful but the best part was the wonderful service by Riley. He was knowledgeable about the menu, we had the best dessert on his recommendation, and he was attentive and friendly, without being overpowering

K C.

Yelp
I'm over this place . Ordered a huge order for everyone at work today . They completely butchered the order . The food isn't as good , more expensive and not enough. I'm sooooo disappointed. Do better
google avatar

Christine L.

Yelp
Healthy, tasty food with calorie counts listed, by the Galleria. Ample free parking inside the Whole Foods Shopping Plaza. Large outdoor dining area. Server was knowledgeable and attentive. We liked the edamame wontons. They split the salad and we had ordered it with shrimp. The fish was also fresh and came with quinoa. Overall, a nice place for a leisurely lunch. Fast casual at a mid level price point. Areas to improve Decor is a bit dated with the same bright yellow and green motif. The bathroom is awkward and tight - shared sinks and two stalls for the women. Recommended.

Robert C.

Yelp
Quality going down, sloppy Food came old warm at best and partially cold Pizza slices were not completely cut - sloppy

Lawrence K.

Yelp
This is a clean place with decent food. The service is first class. Unfortunately, there is no handicap parking so the physically challenged will have to pay $10.00 to park near the restaurant! What a bummer!
google avatar

Sunny B.

Yelp
I've been to true food kitchen once before many years ago and recently made a visit back. There are a few vegetarian options including two pizzas, a veggie burger, and a few bowls. I thought the food was just average, nothing extra special and on the expensive end for what you end up getting. The food was also very slow to come out. I tried the teriyaki quinoa bowl, margherita pizza, and veggie burger. For example, the sweet potatoes that came with my veggie burger were undercooked. Parking is free in the retail restaurant parking garage.
google avatar

Zad D.

Yelp
Ambiance was good, drinks were ok. Food left a lot to be desired - small portions and highly priced, flavors not very appealing. I had the salmon dish and my partner an Asian bowl. Deserts were awful. Best part was that we had a really great waiter! Not sure if be back.
google avatar

Alexsandra N.

Yelp
Nice restaurant and friendly service. There is so much good stuff to choose from on the menu. I couldn't make up my mind. I went with the ancient grains bowl and it was really tasty. Everything in it tasted fresh and seasoned well. The drinks are also yummy! Afterwards we went upstairs and watched Barbie at Rooftop Cinema. I will definitely be coming back for more of the menu!
google avatar

Drake H.

Yelp
Shannon was so helpful! She showed me how to make an online order and everything. I would normally never eat here because I hate the whole "vegan/plant food" thing, but that Bison Sausage pizza is so good. I will be ordering that online next time like Shannon showed me!
google avatar

Sean L.

Yelp
Received absolutely outstanding service by Shannon Lee. Was very pleasant and always had a smile on her face.
