The Best Coffee Bars in Los Angeles, According to Eater Editors | Eater LA

"It is worth the trek to Orange County’s Little Saigon for Trung Nguyên Legend Café. Vietnam’s legendary cafe opened in 2023 and serves phin (coffee made with a Vietnamese filter) and espresso-based coffee drinks using Vietnamese-grown robusta and arabica beans from Buôn Ma Thuột. Everything tastes smooth without an ounce of coffee bean bitterness. Make time to try the dine-in coffee service presented on ornate wooden trays." - Mona Holmes

There’s something about Trung Nguyên that just feels rooted. It’s not just a coffee shop — it’s part of Vietnamese culture. The kind of place where the roast speaks louder than the branding. Bold, deep, unapologetically strong. It doesn’t chase trends — it sets them. This isn’t your sweet, fluffy boba drink. This is Vietnamese coffee the way it’s supposed to be — roasted dark, layered with energy, and just the right kick of legacy. The phin coffee here reminds you what real drip is. Their egg coffee? Smooth, creamy, but still carries that weight underneath. It’s one of the oldest and most respected names in the Vietnamese coffee world — and you can taste why. You don’t just sip it. You feel it. Come for the strength. Stay for the silence between sips. A legend for a reason.

As someone who grew up in Vietnam in the 1990s, I’ve known the Trung Nguyên Legend brand for decades. Back then, their cafés were considered upscale — especially popular among older Vietnamese who took their coffee seriously. I remember iconic locations like the one across from Đầm Sen on Hòa Bình Road. I was too young to sit down at one of those cafes then, but the impression of “elevated Vietnamese coffee culture” stuck with me. Now living in the U.S., I finally had the chance to experience a Trung Nguyên Legend café in person, this time in Westminster. I ordered the signature Legend Coffee and Vietnamese milk coffee — both priced higher than typical fast-serve coffee options, which I expected from this premium brand. The flavor was bold and unmistakably strong. I brew Vietnamese coffee at home every day using a traditional phin filter with beans imported from small-town producers back in Vietnam, so I’m used to this style. But this blend from Trung Nguyên was noticeably more intense, with a richer bitterness and a thicker mouthfeel — almost nostalgic. It brought back vivid memories of old rituals: a roadside black coffee, a cigarette in hand, and a quiet morning. I’ve quit smoking for years, but this cup almost made me crave that pairing again. That says something about how powerfully it connects to the cultural roots of Vietnamese coffee habits. Experience-wise, I’d say the shop leans more modern and fast-casual than what I imagined from the original Trung Nguyên cafés. Maybe it’s the smaller footprint, or the contemporary design — it didn’t quite capture the slower, contemplative vibe I associate with the brand back in Vietnam. There, the shops were large, atmospheric, and set up for people to sit for hours. This one felt more like a stylish coffee stop than a place to linger long. That said, it was still a meaningful experience — especially for anyone familiar with Trung Nguyên’s legacy. It delivers on quality and cultural flavor, even if the U.S. version feels a bit more streamlined for modern convenience.

The legendary Trung Nguyên Legend Cafe, a household name in Vietnam, finally made its U.S. debut right here in Little Saigon, CA in September 2023 and finally I made it to check it out over the weekend. The vibe is chic. Outdoor seating is available. Their Legend Coffee (aka coffee with condense milk, $9.50) was honestly impressive, smooth, rich, and with a natural sweetness that lingers after each sip. The whole experience was on point too! The staff served it beautifully plated, completed with a complimentary biscuit and a gorgeous postcard. If you’re looking for something classic, their Vietnamese Coffee ($5.50) is also a solid pick. Next time, I’m definitely coming back to try their Vietnamese Egg Coffee! A Few Tips: • Closes early at 5:00 PM, so plan your visit accordingly. • Parking in front fills up fast, and your best bet is to park behind the 7-Eleven in the plaza where there’s more space. 📍 Trung Nguyên Legend Cafe 9039 Bolsa Ave #101, Westminster, CA 92683

Visited twice within 3 days! Couldn't help but get the Egg Cream Coffee (hot) twice! I also visited another outpost and tried it Iced! Both were delicious! I only wish they would use glassware for all their dine-in customers.

I'd only stop by here whenever I'm in the area. My go-to location is the 'Trung Nguyen E-Coffee' (off on Euclid & 5th Street in Santa Ana) because that place offers a bit more variety of drinks (coffee/tea/fruit fusion mixed). Glad they now have 'Egg Cream Coffee' as a hot drink where you can really savor the taste vs. the iced coffee version (it's still good but great to have a hot drink option). Sweetness level can be adjusted upon request. Pandan Milk Tea with Lotus seeds (the only tea drink on the menu) was tasty (ordered 50% less sweet - that's the lowest sweetness level they can go...🤔). Great for anyone who are non-coffee drinker. Coconut Iced Coffee was ok. Quite a faint coconut taste in the drink. It basically felt like a coconut scented iced latte. I recommend either 'Triple Coco Coffee Ice blended' drink over at 'Kei Coffee House' (off on Brookhurst - Westminster location) or Young Coconut Blended Coffee over at 'ViLand Coffee' (Bolsa Avenue - Westminster location) where you can really taste actual coconut meat in the coffee drinks ☺️

Google
Eggcellent Vietnamese coffee. The place reminds us of cafe in Vietnam where you just hang out and chat. The egg coffee is thick and creamy. The butterfly pea is a unique non-caffeine option. They have the popular banana matcha latte too but we didn't try it. Prices are good the only negative thing is the parking. If there's not enough parking you will have to park down the side street, FYI. Overall, it's worth a try but there are many egg coffee places in Westminster too so we can't say it's the most unique must try cafe place.

Google
wilow wow! love this place. the time there really reminds me of Vietnam, has all these delicious drinks, I had the legend coffee served with the phin style, along with the banana hojicha which I can slurp all day, and soursop which was like a delicious green iced tea drink, really highly recommend. great spot. bought the coffee tube and it's great

Google
Trung Nguyen Legend Cafe is fantastic! We tried a few different items during our visit: the Legend Coffee (dine-in only), ube waffles, avocado smoothie, and a lemongrass iced tea (I think that’s what it was). Everything was top-notch! The Legend Coffee was my favorite—it’s bold and strong, just the way I like it. They serve condensed milk on the side, so you can adjust the sweetness to your taste. My only wish is that they’d give you a bit more coffee because it’s that good! The ube waffles were phenomenal—perfectly crispy on the outside with a soft, mochi-like texture inside. A must-try! My daughter ordered the avocado smoothie, which was smooth and creamy but not sweet, so keep that in mind if you’re looking for a sweeter drink. My wife had the lemongrass iced tea (I believe), and it was incredibly refreshing and light. The cafe does get busy, so it can feel crowded inside, but they keep the space clean and tidy despite the rush. Overall, we had a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend checking them out!

Yelp
#33 in my SOCAL COFFEE SHOP SERIES I've been to almost all the famous Viet coffee shops in OC and this one has to have the STRONGEST coffee by far (in a good way). This place is good! If my Viet grandparents ask to go here a second time... that is how you know it is good. The first time I got the pandan latte w/ coffee jelly & it was okay. But the second time I went and I got the almond coffee and it was amazing! So so delicious, I definitely recommend that one! My family also loved the classic hot coffee w/ condensed milk. Unfortunately, they do not have a lot of lactose free options for folks but definitely ask them which ones they are when you go. The inside is a good size with ample seating. I am sure I will be back!

Yelp
Yum :) Even though their coffee here is a little bit stronger for my tasting, I still love everything they offer ! Such a cute place w friendly people working here! I love that it's only a minute away from my workplace!

Yelp
Wow. You know it's going to be an amazing review when it starts with wow :) I like to consider myself a coffee aficionado and specifically Vietnamese style coffees. I make them for myself every day, the stronger the better too. I've been to a many different Vietnamese places and have tried quite the array of coffees, but Trung Nguyen stands above all of them... including my own at home! They offer 9 different styles, depending on the coffee bean you want and I had to go for the top tier - the Legend. They only offer this one (and the Creative 8) dine in only, which normally would sway me, but this one made me want it even more. Placed my order and took a seat in the comfortable ambiance. About a few minutes and then they brought me out this very fancy tray with the drip coffee, a glass of ice, and horoscope cookies. Considering I make these all the time, the drip took the average time and was very worth the wait + the experience. Poured in my condensed milk, gave it a stir and WOW! Coffee was phenomenal, strong but the perfect blend of sweet without being too sweet. Cookie was legit too and did a little dunking action for the ultimate full experience. Sat and enjoyed every single sip. So much so, I had to try another and take to a friend to try. Chatted with the staff, who were very friendly and guided me to the Creative 5 for my friend who isn't normally a coffee drinker. Took it to go and upon delivery, naturally I had to take a sip as delivery payment haha and woah. The difference for me was obvious, it was a bit more on the chocolate flavor side, but a good thick coffee undertone. The creative 5 was not as sweet as most other places, but pretty in line flavor wise with others I've tried. The thick coffee undertone is what really sold me. My friend gave it a solid 5/5... and for a non coffee drinker, that was more than I was expecting. He said like an adult chocolate milk haha. If you're a coffee aficionado and like a nice strong coffee punch, this is the place for you! Even if it's just to experience the bliss. It's not close to me, but I'll be back and I'll be sending lots of folks this way. Hands down... holds true to its name, LEGEND!

Yelp
Westminster just got a new coffee shop and it's called Trung Nguyen Legend They're the leading coffee manufacturer in Vietnam, making them the number 1 coffee brand in the country! They have a wide variety of drinks ranging from their strong and bold egg cream coffees to light and refreshing pandan milk with house made jelly. They have plenty of pastries too, but I definitely recommend their ube and panda mochi waffles It's made from scratch and topped with coconut shavings. They're perfectly crispy on the outside and nice and chewy on the inside Pro tip: dip the waffles into your drink for a sweet and savory snack

Yelp
We were first introduced to Trung Nguyen Legend during our trip to Vietnam and really liked the coffee drinks we had there. We found out about this location after we came back and wanted to check it out. There is a parking lot and both indoor and outdoor seating. You can either order at the cashier or at the self-order kiosk to the side. We ordered the iced Vietnamese coffee ($5.50) and the iced egg coffee ($6.50). The Vietnamese coffee was strong and just how I remembered in Vietnam. The egg part of the iced egg coffee was creamy and paired well with the coffee on the bottom layer. One of my favorite coffee drinks during my time in Vietnam was the hot egg coffee and I'll have to come back to try that.

Yelp
My hubby heard about this place through a friend and since we were in the area, we decided to drop in for an afternoon pick me up. This coffee shop specializes in Vietnamese coffee from beans grown on their own plantation in Vietnam (cool!), but also offers other drinks like Italian style coffees, blended drinks and teas. Since we planned a quick stop in (no time for the traditional phin coffees - but the price of $9.50 for the Legend coffee was out of my budget anyway), we asked the employee at the register her recommendations. We ended up ordering an iced Special Vietnamese White coffee (50% sweet) and the Iced Vietnamese Egg coffee. Both were delicious, but I really enjoyed the egg coffee more. I loved the egg foam on top, it reminds me of cheese foam but not salty. I'm glad we ordered the white coffee at 50% sweet as it was plenty sweet for us already. The shop is decorated really modern and cute with a lot of prepackaged coffee that you can buy. There is plenty of seating available and there were no lines when we came in (although it was NYE so maybe it was a slow day?) I enjoyed the coffee so much that I bought a couple items to try at home. I felt the pricing was really good on these items, I think a 50 pack of the 3-in-1 was on sale too, probably cheaper than similar products from the Asian markets. Next time I'm feeling bougie, I'll stop in to try the Legend phin coffee and let you know how it is!

Yelp
The experience of having the Legend coffee phin drip was cool. They have a cute mini pitcher of condensed milk (I would pour all of it into the espresso) and the glass of ice for you to create your own iced Vietnamese coffee. You get thin cookies as well (which were okay). My kids got a peach lemongrass iced tea and the pandan milk which they both loved. I would say the stand outs were the waffles! They were delicious! We got the pandan and ube with coconut, and I would absolutely get them again! They had a nice chew to them; it felt like mochi waffles, and the flavor was light and not overpowering. My kids also liked the ham and cheese croissant. They have a loyalty program attached to your phone number and credit card. The ambiance is just okay, no frills. It wasn't too busy at 10 a.m., but it picked up around 11:45 a.m. which is when we were on our way out. The crowd was more of aunties and uncles. I'm not in a hurry to come back.

Yelp
If you're looking for an authentic Vietnamese coffee experience without leaving the U.S., this coffee shop is an absolute must! I had Trung coffee in Vietnam and was missing it and was so HAPPY they have one in SoCAL! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the warm smiles of the friendly staff. Their hospitality instantly makes you feel at home, and they're always happy to answer questions or recommend their favorites. The decor feels like you stepped into a coffee shop in vietnam. The coffee here is extraordinary--every sip transports you straight to Vietnam. Whether you choose a classic Vietnamese iced coffee (cà phê sữa đá) or a hot drip brew, the flavor is bold, smooth, and perfectly balanced. It's clear they use high-quality beans and traditional brewing methods. It tastes just like the coffee I had in Vietnam! The consistency between their U.S. and Vietnam locations is impressive. The parking here is easy, plenty of spaces! Before you leave, don't forget to check out their selection of coffee beans. They sell bags of their signature blends, so you can take the authentic Vietnamese coffee experience home with you. It's a great way to relive the flavors or share them with friends and family. This coffee shop is more than just a place to grab a drink--it's a little slice of Vietnam. Highly recommended for coffee enthusiasts and anyone curious to explore the world of Vietnamese coffee!

Yelp
New Year's Eve coffee run! My husband and I noticed the café wasn't too crowded today, so we decided to stop by and try their famous signature drink, the Legend Coffee. Our server recommended the white coffee, which has less caffeine, but I was set on experiencing the Legend Coffee. It was quite the treat to see the phin coffee drip process and pour the condensed milk over ice. The ambiance was calm and relaxing, with several uncles enjoying their coffee while reading newspapers. The coffee was on the pricier side, but I have to admit it was incredibly smooth and didn't even need the condensed milk. Would I return? Definitely! I'm looking forward to trying their other iced coffee options.

Yelp
I am a Vietnamese coffee connoisseur and this coffee is so strong and concentrated that I'm not sleepy for the ENTIRE day and can stay laser focus on any task! Usually for other places I'm able to take a mid-day nap easily, but not here. This has been my go to spot for my day trips between LA and SD! I wish there were more tables but happy to take it to go as well.

Yelp
I've had this spot bookmarked for a while, and I finally got to visit! My partner and I first tried Trung Nguyen coffee when in Vietnam, and we loved it there, so we wanted to try this location since it's closer than going back to Vietnam. First, there was plenty of parking and little to no wait on a Saturday at around 12:30-1pm. There's a number of seating options available, too. Now, for the drinks we tried: -Pandan latte with coffee jelly at full sweetness - there's a light pandan flavor and it's super light on the coffee flavor in terms of the latte (think more milk forward with a pandan aftertaste?). It's not super sweet, so I'm glad I got it at full sweetness. The coffee flavor comes more from the coffee jelly, and I will say that the coffee jelly was better here than I've had elsewhere. -Creative 3 at 75% sweetness - we picked this for my partner because the description said it was one of the less strong ones (though it's still Vietnamese coffee, so it's bound to be strong anyway lol). It was a mistake to go with less sweet, since it's pretty strong, but it was better with a little more condensed milk. This didn't quite live up to what we were hoping for, but maybe the Legend would have been a better fit for what we wanted. Overall, while it wasn't a life-changing experience, the coffee was solid, and I wouldn't be against returning. I wouldn't make a 1.5 hour drive just to come here, but I wouldn't be against coming to grab some coffee if I happened to be in the area.

Yelp
Great place to get your viet coffee fix! Drinks are nice & strong. Tried the almond white coffee with coffee jelly & sea salt cream, and the matcha latte with coffee jelly, both were delicious.
google avatar

Jean Marie M.

Yelp
Very welcoming staff, helped me through the ordering experience. I order the drip #1, which is the most popular. There is a welcoming seating area and small shopping section near the registers. I love the look of the gold droppers. We also ordered the pandan waffle with coconut and it was delicious!
google avatar

Amy L.

Yelp
Came on a weekday since I usually see a crowd on the weekends. Tiramisu latte with coffee jello ($6.50) - espresso, tiramisu syrup and coffee jelly. The latte itself is light in coffee flavor and a bit sweet but the coffee jelly which was a bit bitter balanced it out.
google avatar

Tiffany N.

Yelp
Came here because my friend sent me a video of Hungry4Munchies going here & i'm so happy we did. She got the Creative 3 w/condense milk and the pandan waffle and I got the pandan milk w/ube mochi waffle YUM, everything was really good & I think we were outside for a good hour, maybe longer. The girl that helped us (im sorry i forgot your name) was very helpful in explaining the creative numbers to us. ((the higher the number, the less strong)) I can't comment how the vibes are inside since we sat outside but it was pretty packed so I think its a pretty popular spot in general. Will come back and try the coffee next time!
google avatar

Kenneth M.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and friendly helpful staff. The traditional Legend drip coffee is so good and light that you can drink it black without condensed milk but we still opted to and poured over ice. Will come back
google avatar

Pauline T.

Yelp
Service was good when we went. They were able to give us some recommendations. Ordered two coffee and a tea. Creative 5 with condensed milk Latte with coffee jelly Soursop tea with jelly I really like the soursop tea with jelly and the creative 5 with condensed milk. A very busy place but not too bad of a wait.
google avatar

Cindy N.

Yelp
my favorite is the egg coffee here, as I'm still exploring the menu. Service is great, mobile order is usually faster than walk-ins. Their Pandan waffles is to die for, it's soft, and chewy like mochi, and not too sweet either.
google avatar

Nicole L.

Yelp
Tried Trung Nguyen for the first time and this is the real definition of strong viet coffee xD I ordered the coconut coffee for myself and waowww tastes exactly like the coffee I had when I traveled to Vietnam !!! The coffee was so strong + sweet like I loveee. My coffee came out super fast too :-)
google avatar

H B.

Yelp
First timer and LOVED the pandan milk with pandan jelly along with creative 5 coffee. Also ordered the pandan and ube waffles with coconut. Pandan Milk - 5/5 Creative coffee - 4.5/5 Pandan waffle - 2.5/5 needs more pandan flavor and the waffle itself is too thick Ube waffle - 3.5/5 a little better flavoring but could use more ube and make it less thick
google avatar

Richard D.

Yelp
The best in Viet coffee. I think the coffee here is a good representation of what you should expect when it comes to Viet coffee. I normally don't drink anything other than black coffee. The coffee that they serve does have some unique notes. My wife always brings us here when we are in the area. We usually don't repeat visits to any place, but this cafe is an exception.
google avatar

Tram N.

Yelp
Went here for the first time today and it's such a cute and bright cafe. I ordered the tiramisu latte with coffee jelly. The coffee was definitely strong, as it should be considering it's Vietnamese coffee, but I didn't taste any tiramisu flavor at all? Not sure if it was supposed to come with the tiramisu cream on top. Despite that, the coffee drink tastes good, not too sweet either. My husband orders the coffee with coconut cream, which definitely was sweeter than mine. Still, a really good, strong coffee drink. Service was friendly and quick. We went in the middle of the day, during the week, so the wait wasn't long at all.
google avatar

Barb B.

Yelp
Just I see the photo of the coffee again, I'm salivating. Ughhhh I want another one. The coffee was about close to $7. Other than that, I'm all in. Coffee is rich and bitter with a perfect amount of cream and sweetness. It's a cute shop with a lot coming and going. People are friendly and the location is in the heart of little Saigon. This place is better than Davien. I'd come back!

Yelp

Yelp
I've been here a few times mainly to get their Egg Coffee. I love it both iced and hot... can never choose between the two so I always get both! Perfectly not too sweet and the foam is delicious! The hot coffee comes out at perfect temp so you don't burn your mouth right when get your drink! It's busy on the weekends so seating may be harder to come by... other than that its so worth trying!

Yelp
Stopped by before going to business Costco, too hot outside and needing tc cool down and get my caffeine fix. I got my usual cold brew, and my caffeine sensitive partner ordered A Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk (questionable choice for someone with already questionable sleep patterns, but I commend his courage). Anyways the menu was a bit distracting as one had Napoleon, another had Mozart, and the other had Einstein???? Why? I mean I enjoyed the visuals lol The coffee was very pleasant and Vietnamese coffee was not too sweet. My partner and sister made fun of me as I drank my cold brew "too fast". Ben at business Costco agreed that there were no such thing as "too fast" when consuming caffeine. Anyways, the barista was kind and the atmosphere was welcoming, I would definitely come again!! Maybe we'll sit in to try the legend coffees!
google avatar

Han P.

Yelp
First time here! I've had similar coffee concepts at other coffee shops (: however i feel like their flavors here are very unique and subtle. It's def not too sweet! I opted to get almond milk for the marble drip and for some reason it wasn't the best choice lol It had such a weird aftertaste I'm not sure if it was the brand they used but i guess i have to suffer the consequences of drinking any dairy! I got my mom the iced egg coffee and she absolutely loved it. She stated that you can tell they use different coffee beans that is fresh and taste better than most places! I also got a side of the sea cream to go on top of my marble drip and needless to say that actually made my coffee taste so much better! Overall it's a cute place great for little hang outs. Parking is such a hassle though. I def want to come back and try their famous coffee
google avatar

Peggy S.

Yelp
I wish I liked coffee - that would definitely make my life a bit easier. I've been here a few times with some friends who are coffee lovers. They say it's strong which they like. For anyone who doesn't like coffee, you'll have limited options. I've only gotten the Matcha latte with coffee jelly. Sometimes, I'll be fancy and ask for a splash of pandan. Can't control the sugar levels though so it's too sweet for my taste. The size of the cup is pretty reasonable. The Matcha flavor is not strong and it felt a little bit water down. I like the coffee jelly but that's the extent of how much coffee I can take. There's a parking lot and I've never had to wait too long to order my drinks during the afternoon. It's a pretty sunny, relaxed spot with big windows.
google avatar

Yelp
I love how many Vietnamese coffee shops are in the area and had this place bookmarked as soon as I found out they had opened. I managed to swing by when I was in the area for lunch before driving back home. I tried the coffee with ginger cream. The coffee was really creamy and smooth and the bold vietnamese coffee flavor really came across. The ginger flavor may be too strong for some people and definitely has a kick to it. It was a touch too sweet for me but I still enjoyed it. Next time I'm around I would definitely want to try one of the more traditional coffees. I enjoyed my drink, but overall nothing in particular stood out to me.

Yelp
My good friend introduce to this place just recently. We always order the premium legend special that comes with a whole drip coffee set up, a cookie, and a post card. It's fun just setting it up and adjusting the condensed milk into my cup to my likeness of sweetness. Service is always the same and consistent. Kind and fast with the order. We be sitting outside vibing, reminiscing, and just straight chilling. Coming in the morning, especially during the summer time feels good. Keeps me motivated after drinking a cup of coffee before I began work or whatever responsibilities I gotta do. People come through!

Yelp
This coffee place can be considered an experience and I think us trying it has opened our eyes to just how good coffee can be. There was a short line when we got there and two huge parties left by the time we ordered so we were able to sit at the large table in the middle of the room. There is an area that can probably fit six people for some privacy but if you're not there, you will be sitting next to a stranger. Enjoying your coffee will take time - Especially if you order the one (I think it's the Legend) where they let the coffee drip in front of you. But this is teaching you that patience can pay off...It is good black and it is even better when condensed milk is added to it. Add ice and you have an iced coffee ready to enjoy. It also comes with a thin cookie and a postcard. I got their Pandan Tea with Lotus Seeds, but stick with their coffee choices, that is what they are known for. Parking can be tough as it's in a small plaza with a lot of other shops around, but it shares a long lot with other buildings and parking areas - Kind of far to walk, but an option. There's also a residential area right next door.
google avatar

Brannon Y.

Yelp
Really not a fan of coffee... BUT somehow I keep ending up here. I ordered the Almond White Coffee: The flavors and textures are well thought out and very creative in my opinion - not to mention stunning visually as well. Something about this Vietnamese coffee tastes different to me. More palatable in a sense. I wish I took photos of the inside because there's always a very breathable feeling to it. Great lighting and unique decorations. Given how artistic each drink is, the service seemed quick. I never wait long here. Again, not a coffee drinker but I'll probably be back here again!
google avatar

Trisha V.

Yelp
Even though I can't go here again because my body just doesn't tolerate strong coffee, I would definitely recommend this place. I could tell they serve quality coffee beans and quality drinks that I know people will enjoy and appreciate. But for me, it was just too strong and I wouldn't want to change or modify cuz then it wouldn't be as authentic like it's meant to be. But this was a cute spot in Westminster and lots of places to sit, very clean inside and easy to park.
google avatar

Yelp
Ube matcha coffee - didn't see much of the matcha except for a light green tint mixed in the ube, definitely tasted more of the ube too. ube foam was on the sweeter side, flavor was subtle - it mixed well with the strong rich Vietnamese coffee to give it a creamier factor Black sesame cream coffee - really recommend this one, loved how the sesame foam gave the drink a light nutty flavor - it really balanced out the coffee flavor! Beautiful and spacious interior, giving me a mix of modern/sleek and traditional Vietnamese decor. Lots of free parking available.

Yelp
Thanks to my friend for introducing me to this place because I dream about their phin coffee creative series on a daily basis. Service is fast, coffee is superb and the ambiance just makes you want to stay longer and enjoy your coffee on a calm note. I've tried their croissant ham and cheese and omg I always make sure to grab one to pair with my creative series.

Yelp
I've been hearing about this cafe and really excited to try their drinks... This place brewed up a very strong coffee. I'm someone who can't have caffein past 2pm, and that day I stopped drinking my pandan coffee at 12:30pm, I was still wide awake that night lol. PANDAN LATTE WITH COFFEE JELLY is one of the top seller. I love it! There was no artificial pandan flavor in the drink. The coffee jelly was perfect for the drink. The jelly was not too soft, just the right bounciness. EGG COFFEE Is also another one of the top seller. The egg cream on top was really nice. It reminded me of creme brulee. I had my coffee at 75% sweetness, but I'd have to increase it higher the next time, as the coffee was really dark, like almost a burnt taste. The interior has a tradition aesthetic and a more grown up vibe. There are outdoor seats as well. The parking can be a little challenging to find in this plaza. There is a kiosk for self order or you could also place online order on Toast app to skip the line. My coffees came out surprisingly fast after I placed my order in the kiosk, very impressed. @tableformin

Yelp
Parking here was tough even though there were plenty of parking spaces. They have some indoor and outdoor seating, but it also gets packed. You can order via the kiosk or with the cashier. I ordered the Blended Ice Coconut with Coffee and it was pretty good! The coffee was definitely strong but the hint of coconut was nice. It is a blended drink, so you can't adjust ice level. Recommendation(s): - Blended Ice Coconut with Coffee Service: 5/5 Tip(s): - Parking can get tough even though there are plenty of parking spaces - Accept Apple Pay - Some indoor and outdoor seating available - Can order via kiosk or with cashier

Yelp
Finally got to try Trung Nguyen Legend! We got the avocado coffee & the trung nguyen coffee w/ condensed milk. I actually ended up really liking the Avocado Coffee, it was topped with some coconut shreds which added a nice crunchy texture. The avocado definitely overpowered the coffee, which I personally loved The Trung Nguyen coffee is definitely for people who enjoy very strong & bitter coffee tastes.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick coffee after working on my car in the heat. I got my usual cold brew to cool off, while my caffeine-sensitive partner went all in with a Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk (probably not the best call for his sleep, but I respect the choice). The coffee was solid. My cold brew was refreshing, and the Vietnamese iced coffee wasn't too sweet, which he appreciated. We joked about me drinking my cold brew "too fast," but honestly, after working on my car, I needed that caffeine boost.

Yelp
Trung Nguyễn--simply the best! I waited years for Trung Nguyễn to open in the States, and I was excited when they first arrived. Since then, they have expanded around OC and Long Beach, making it even easier to get my fix. If you need an instant jolt of strong coffee, you won't be disappointed. They offer a variety of options, from traditional hot phin coffee to civet coffee to egg coffee. The lines are usually short, and the baristas are friendly and efficient. The store also carries a wide selection of instant coffees. I usually stock up with at least 150 sachets for my daily boost! The space is pretty clean, with well maintained tables and a restroom in the back. Parking is decent

Yelp
I ordered online and it was very easy as well as pickup. My husband had admired the inside of the building and thought I would enjoy it if we came back. The coffee itself was delicious and well made. I would certainly like to come back.

Yelp
Very okay coffee. Hubby and I are always on the hunt for a good Vietnamese coffee spot whenever we visit GG/Westminster area so we had high expectations for TNL considering the shining reviews. We got the iced egg coffee and the iced sea salt vietnamese coffee. Both drinks amounted about $12 which was decent considering how most specialty vietnamese coffees range between $5 - $7. Upon first sip both coffees were good. The flavor was there. Very concentrated and had very strong notes of chicory. However, the foam in both drinks didn't sit well with either of us. The more we drank, the more sickening we felt. The drink was too rich even with our sweetness adjustment. Neither of us could finish the drink because the foam just sat too heavy in our bellies. Overall experience here was disappointing. Maybe we'll skip the foam next time and just go straight to the coffee.

Yelp
Finally got to try this Vietnamese coffee recommended by a friend and although I wouldn't say it's worth the drive and the price, but it was such an experience. It was quite shocking that the coffee itself is about 10 bucks and it comes in a very small portion if you if you don't want to add ice. We didn't know what to expect so when the coffee came, we just let it dripping and dripping and we were not sure when it's going to stop lol. The coffee with and with the condensed milk and it's an interesting and strong taste of Vietnamese coffee. they have a lot of variety of the coffee drinks, and the staff is friendly enough to explain to me what's the differences among all of them. you only can order the legend coffee for dine in because the dripping will take a long time. That's why if you want to hang out, you should order the legend but if you are in a hurry, maybe you should order something else. the shop was quiet full for a rainy day. There's plenty of parking in the plaza too.

Yelp
Having missed out on Trung Nguyen during my visit to Ho Chi Minh City a few years ago, I'm glad they've opened a location in OC so I can try their drinks. Opting for the iced egg coffee with regular sugar, I was taken aback by its incredibly robust flavor--it's perhaps the strongest Vietnamese coffee I've ever had. While possibly perfect for coffee aficionados, I had to let the ice melt so I could finish the drink. Next time if I were to go back, I'd try a non-coffee drink like soursop tea. Service was impressively prompt; after ordering, my drink was ready for pickup within a minute.

Yelp
Everyone that knows me knows that I am obsessed with Da Vien. I still try other places because I am open-minded, and you just never know if you'll find something else that you like. My wife and our friends decided to come here to try out a few drinks that they saw on tiktok. I was debating between Creative 3 & Creative 2 because I was worried if it would be too strong. I settled for #3 phin style. I'd say it took about maybe 15 minutes for everything to finish. I was a little worried at first because it looked so dark but the condense milk really helped out. It was so good. I wish I would've gotten #2. Definitely coming back to try that out next. We also got some of their waffles which were pretty good as well - gotta eat it right when it comes out though for the crisp!

Yelp
I finally decided to check Trung Nguyen out to see for myself. I was overwhelmed with how busy it was inside and outside. Older Vietnamese people have made this their new hang out spot making the inside of the cafe smell like cigarettes. I was however, pleasely surprised to see that there was no wait and they were ready to take my order. I went with one other person and we ordered their House Legend coffee with condense milk and a Matcha with Seasalt foam. Both drinks came out rather quickly and both were strong as hell. They were both super sweet and I wish I got my matcha less sweetened. The House Legend is their version of the ca phe sua da. It was very strong and very sweet. It was good though. We had just finished the gym and felt like we can probably go again. My matcha usually comes with coffee jelly but I told them to not put it in. I enjoyed it although I wish it wasn't so sweet. The seasalt foam on top was pretty good. Like most have complained, their drinks are pricey compared to other Vietnamese coffee/tea places. We spent almost $20 for both drinks. I don't think they offer alternative milks either. But I did like that they had a lot of different choices of drinks to choose from. On the day we went they even had a soursoup seasonal drink that looked really good. I would say it's a good spot for coffee but I wouldn't get a matcha there again. The service was pretty good. The drinks came out quick and the staff was nice. This spot is super busy with people. There's tables and chairs inside and out but like I mentioned there was a lot of people hanging out chatting really loud. It is definitely not a peaceful coffee house nor a place to do work at. Parking is awful but we scored a spot right in front. It's worth checking out if you haven't tried it but I'm unsure if we would seek to come back.

Yelp
The coffee here is good and the easy ice is easy enough for me to come back a few times a week. Bac xieu -creamy and doesn't have the rich coffee flavors Coffee and condensed milk -it's like the lees sandwiches coffee but better. I love how thick it taste and the coffee flavors are strong Would return for both

Yelp
I have been drinking this brand of coffee for a while now, so I don't know how I never realized that they have many cafes in Vietnam. Nonetheless, I am glad to try this new location in Little Saigon. The decorations are very reminiscent of cafes in the homeland for sure, very spot on. The culture of coffee and hanging out at cafes is huge in Vietnam, so the long line and bustling shop on a Saturday morning didn't surprise me. Despite the crowd, service was relatively quick and the staff was very nice. The Vietnamese Egg Coffee was good--strong and decadent--and the egg did not taste weird. I have not decided if it is better than that from Davien's, so TBD. The Tiramisu Coffee with Coffee Jelly was also good, although the Tiramisu flavors (also coffee) felt redundant to me. The Pandan Latte with Coffee Jelly was disappointing because I could not taste (nor see) any pandan in there. Lattes are mainly milk, so the bright green color of the pandan should have been the star of the whole drink, but she was missing. I am open to coming back to try the Creative series since they have intrigued me, but we shall see.

Yelp
Our recent Vietnam trip consisted of lots of Trung Nguyen Legend visits for their coconut coffee! We decided to try something new today since they have a location in the states. We tried the pandan latte with coconut jelly and since they were having a holiday special for a $1 coconut iced coffee that day, we got that too. The pandan latte did not taste like pandan to me. The espresso they used tasted very good but the flavor of the drink was not there. The iced coconut coffee was very good. Great coconut taste with delicious coconut crunchy bits on top. They have a decent amount of selection for coffee to bring home and brew. They jacked up the price a lot compared to Vietnam. Probably because of the import. We will have to come back to see how their blended coconut coffee tastes compared to VN.
