Turnmill Bar

Out-of-Towners! We wanted to find a bar showing the NOLA Saints game. We went to one bar & NOPE! We randomly walked around and stumbled upon Turnmill Bar with hopes. No Saints game 😕 BUT sat at the bar to regroup & get drinks. This one has a nice atmosphere. We could tell this place was just getting amped up for “game-day”. Regulars / Friends started showing up with jerseys on. My boyfriend asked our sweet bartender if they could change the TV to our game. My boyfriend even said we could move to a table so they dont have to change the TVs at the bar. (We do understand the gaints game will be more important than ours) The manager was AMAZING & willing to change the tv in front of us at the bar so we dont have to move. With me managing a sports bar myself, I was impressed! We ended up staying there through the whole game. Got more drinks and food. I highly recommend the Summer Grace, Espresso Martini and the Jessie’s Spring drinks. ALSO the wings! ❤️ We will be back. Thanks for making our game-day perfect! We loved the atmosphere and felt like we found a gem of a regular neighbor style bar.❤️

Everton soccer fans, come here for games and sound on (outside seating included)! We enjoyed watching the game here. This is a nice, clean, well maintained and spacious bar upstairs, including a huge back room. The enclosed outdoor area is nice with the lights and a few TV too. Didn't get the food, just drinks but recommend for a laid back and spacious sports bar. Friendly and attentive service. Enjoy!

The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy, with comfortable seating. The bar staff were friendly and attentive, and they had a great selection of beers on tap as well as a variety of cocktails and spirits. The food was also excellent - I highly recommend the buffalo wings and the burger. The prices were reasonable and the portions were good. Overall, I had a great time at Turnmill and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a laid-back place to grab a drink, some food and watch some sports.

Didn't eat but happy hour deal was decent compared to other bars I visited in NYC. Nice moody lighting

We went to trivia night and had a blast! The staff was so kind and supportive. Cheap drinks and great atmosphere - will be coming here again. We won 4 Cadbury eggs during trivia :)

This is a great experience if you have the chance to check it out. It's like a hole in the wall meets a unique and classy cultural experience at their Wednesday nights jams. I love coming out with my dancers friends, the band and house always treat us very well. Plus, there are plenty drinks (I had a hard cider that changed my life), clean and plentiful restrooms, and the music is played by high quality musicians. Sometimes some of the staff can be a little cranky, but by new york standards they're absolute dolls! I had an amazing time at their 10 anniversary event.Can't wait to go back real soon!

It’s a pretty good Irish bar for the neighborhood. They have a good happy hour for after work and I can see a group of offices that come by fairly regularly. The weight stuff is friendly and approachable and turn around your drinks really quickly too. They have a lot of space as well and if you want a private section, you can go into the back and they have a large table where you can have your own space. They let out that section for events and get togethers. Definitely recommend this place!

Great place to watch football. Nfl sunday ticket for anyone trying to watch out of network games. The guy we asked to change the channel for a packer game was very nice and overall service was great. Drinks are good and cheap as well. Only complaint were the food portions were way too small. We ordered the tater tots for $7 and it came out with exactly 7 tater tots. That seems a bit ridiculous to me. Would still come back, just dont come on an empty stomach.

Fantastic and classic Irish pub! The manager Peggy and owner Tom make you feel right at home. Their food is extremely tasty, I highly recommend the chicken sandwich. Vibes are great at Turnmill pub!

I've done a couple of happy hours here. Good deals for drinks and bites and really like the individual QR code menu/payment system. It makes it really helpful if you're coming in groups or people are leaving at different times to easily pay for yourself. Service is typically quick and the vibes are good!

Went for Super Bowl yesterday, I'm visiting from out of town so I was by myself. It was busy when I got there, but the servers and bartenders were very attentive. I ordered two vodka sodas, fries, and chicken tenders. Everything was really good, solid, made well, good flavors. The ambiance was great, not too wild even though it was busy, I'd say if you're visiting, it's a really great option if you're trying to catch a game, lots of screens, oh and it really big inside!

I came here with my friend to watch the Olympics opening night. The waitress was extremely outgoing and friendly. We ordered the jalapeño popper, parmesan truffle fries, nachos, spinach & artichoke dip, pretzel, & wings. It was way too much food for 2 people but we were very hungry. The food came out piping hot and so much better than I would have expected it to be. Turnmill also has a variety of whiskeys & agave. My friend is an avid whiskey drinker so he chose a whiskey and was very happy with the selection. We ended the night with a couple of hard ciders. Overall, Turnmill is a great bar to watch sports and hang out. The vibe is very friendly and unpretentious. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because the stools are hard on the backside when sitting. Also, for a Friday night, it was too quiet. People, you need to fill this great bar up on a Friday night!

Wow 22 screens. With that many screens of all sizes , You will miss the game only if you blink . Amazing sound. Came here for the Euro cup 2024. The servers are friendly n attentive. Prices are reasonable great selection of cocktails, beers n small bites.

Turnmill is a solid sports bar with plenty of TVs, and the bartenders are friendly. The music is great, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered tater tots, and they arrived ONLY 5 pieces--seriously?! The mozzarella sticks came with only six pieces. Really?! It's ridiculous. I'm very disappointed in the portion sizes. Stick to the drinks because the food is just not worth it.

Walked into football and sports bar heaven! On NYE was trying to watch some games in the afternoon and got turned away at another spot since they were setting up for the night. Turned out great as we just randomly found this spot. It's big enough for a crowd but still good screen views for everyone. They had the game sound on and the vibe was great. Really awesome selection of beers and the bar bites were delicious. It seems like NYC is not known for these types of sports bars, had more of a Midwest feel. However, this one hit the mark!

Many people have come to know Turnmill as an after-work bar, one for gathering in after a long day at the office and hitting up their happy hour specials. In fact my coworkers and I had one last hurrah here after we closed our offices for good and became a fully remote workforce. I don't find anything about this bar particularly special, nor are their happy hour specials even that good. I've also not been a fan of the bro-y crowd it usually draws. Despite all this, I feel a little twinge in my chest remembering all the post-work happy hours I've had here over the years, all of them kind of mundane and blending together in my memory. The good times weren't really owed to the bar though but to the people I was spending my time with. All of this to say is that you can get drinks here, and maybe catch one of their live music shows, but I'd never suggest going out of your way to visit.

I was here for company private party. Didn't expect to drink much cuz my face turns red easily after one drink. Somehow after 1.5 drinks (one colleague shared on drink with me), I didn't feel tipsy and my face didn't turn red at all. Guess my rum with coke was very much diluted. The vibe is nice in the bar. I hope their drinks can keep up with the vibe.

This place is adequate for after work HH. Service relatively quick but not a place to linger late night.

A decent place - ish. The food is okay, the drinks are yummy. Me and my friends came here several times for after work happy hours, especially as we all enjoy playing trivia and it is conveniently located between our jobs. The music played is some of the best nostalgia mixed with todays hits. However, after the trivia host made some racist remarks during a game, we will not be returning.

Nice bar and fair service. They loose stars because they didn't disclose a credit card fee to be added to the tab. And a fee that is more than they are being charged by Visa. Won't be back guys! If you want to rip your customers off at least tell them you are doing so.

I love this place so much. I come here for all my college game viewings and keep on coming back. 1. it has a totally classy gastropub feel 2. Amazing drinks selection 3. I love all the staff and owners - they try so hard and are so nice 4. Perfect for game watching. Well positioned screens. 5. Some pretty amazing pub food options - wings - terrific, fritters - to die for, - chicken tenders - a winner Why only 4 stars??? They have one weakness. Their pretzel is god awful. Like the worst pretzel I have ever had in my life. Drier than desert. Tasteless like no other. Other than that, this place is amazing.

Casual NYC bar, great for meeting up with a friend for a chill happy hour. There were plenty of seating options available when I arrived and we situated ourselves at a small 2-person table where we were quickly served by a friendly host. Happy hour deal pictured!

Went to this bar to catch the Everton game, and I don't know what I expected but it exceeded my expectations. Crowded with Everton fans, of course, but not rowdy or uncomfortable. The drinks and food are very reasonably priced and you can get a bucket of 5 beers for 20 bucks. The food was very good too, great mozzarella sticks. Also, shoutout to Nicole the bartender who handled an entire room of people as the sole bartender and was super nice and friendly and fast despite how many people there were to serve. I recommend for a game or just a regular hang.

First it's LOUD... the music rather than the patrons, but it's a deafening level. The music is also broadcast to the tables outside, but the open air makes it bearable... even if the heat isn't. Other than that, no complaints. The service was wonderful with rotating waiters/waitresses, always on the spot and serving with good humor. Nice beer selection and if you describe your tastes (mine: an IPA, but not super bitter, medium alcohol) you'll be able t try something new. They'll even offer you a taste first. No complaints about the food. I had the buffalo wings and they had a nice kick... too often missing from wimpier bars. My friends had a variety of other food, all enjoying it. There is a paper menu, but it varies from the QR code menu. The latter is the most up to date. If you can put up with (or even enjoy) the loud music (maybe I'm just too old), then inside is the right temperature, and a nice ambience. If you can't, then sit outside, though you might sweat a little.

We had a casual reception after a professional event. Everything was great. Making it happen was easy and Peggy was invaluable is helping me put this together remotely. Everyone loved the ambiance and the food. My team and our guests had a great night. I hope we were gracious guests. Thank you Turnmill...we will be back!

Standard bar - nothing too crazy. Beer selection is pretty good. Can't really vouch for the food. I've come here a couple times now - one for an alumni happy hour and the other for a goodbye happy hour. It's not the best bar in the world or has the best happy hour deals, but it's passable.

Happy hour til 7 is such a HUGE plus. Friendly service and a good food made it all even better.

Just a relax NYC dive bar vibe with a good dose of jazz on a Wednesday. Decent food and drink options and friendly staff. Got the nachos and corn fritter and the were good to snack on. All mixers for cocktails are house-made and staff was nice enough to accommodate my need to intake less sugar. Both outdoor and indoor seatings available. Would be a good choice for a low key kinda night with friends!

The nerve of the door guys at this bar. I've never been so disrespected for trying to walk into a bar.

Got respect for everything Turnmill has going on. A worn-in, industry friendly look. Divey without being disgusting. Daily happy hour from 5-7p, and another Sun-Tue, 12a-2a. But I find myself nightcapping between these sweet spots, and can't shake why a local, high volume session IPA is $8 a pint. Cocktails are $14, and the specialties are mules, collinses and the like. Still, it's close to where I love to stay and very approachable. Will nightcap again.

So, this place is just like your typical bar in the city. Large TV's all throughout, a very long list of beer and even a long list of whiskey, it is pretty loud on a typical week night, good for happy hour and booze one sixpoint beer $8, the bathroom is in the lower level and tbh it could use some upgrade. see my pics! If you are looking to speak loud and lean in close to your company's ear for them to be able to hear you speak, you are in the RIGHT place! But let's be honest, most bars are this way during happy hour. Also, they ask for ID in the entrance!

I cam here on a Monday for Trivia night and it was such a blast! The staff is so attentive, nice , fun and overall it is a place with great vibes! They have a good food selection (chicken tenders, truffle fries and chili are my go-tos but plenty of other choices). I am definitely going to be back for Monday trivia nights (and many other days of the week too). This is my favorite neighborhood gastropub

Absolutely AWFUL service. They constantly kept taking drinks away that weren't empty and then when asked if they could turn a certain sporting event on, the manager was extremely rude saying they don't play that even though it was on their TVs outside. Save yourself and don't come here

I've been to Turnmill for a few different happy hours. Most recently I came and sat up front as there was a party in the back. The best part about this place is the space and atmosphere. It's normally pretty busy but the staff is super accommodating. The prices are cheap $7-$14 for drinks and cocktails. They also have great food. Side note -- call ahead if you want to bring a group as they are really helpful. One time they even let us watch The Bachelor on the huge wall in the back because there wasn't a party. Great HH spot for groups, coworkers, but I wouldn't go to sit down and eat...mainly because the ambiance feels more like cocktails and conversation.

Came in for a drink while walking around the neighborhood and I was pleasantly surprised with the number of craft beers on draft and the number of bourbons and whiskeys available. They even had flights. The atmosphere was a nice pub feel and there's plenty of seating available. It looks like a good cozy bar to watch a game or just have some drinks on a random evening. The bartender was excellent and let me have a taste of one of the beers to try before I committed. Its a small gesture but makes a big impression in my book. I liked this bar and would definitely recommend it for a watching a game or hanging with friends at cozy local pub.

This is the perfect spot for all sports lovers and after work happy hour fans! The bar is good size with a fair amount of tables to sit and have a few beverages with a group. It definitely seems like a local favorite for the 9-5 business workers to come after work. The HH specials were great and included specials on wine, well drinks and draft beers. The specials went until 7 PM which was awesome. They have all their beers and whiskey listed out on a chalkboard making it easy to see what they have. We sat at a table and were worried we would have to go to the bar to keep getting our drinks since it was so crowded, to our surprise we were wrong. The servers were very attentive and checked on us frequently! I cannot speak for the food as we only ordered drinks but their menu had some appealing items on it. If you're looking for a place that shows a game or sporting event look no further! There are TVs lined along the walls with a large projector screen too. I would say it fits a 'sports bar' mood to some degree but think you'd enjoy this place even if you're not a sports fan!

We rented out the back space in this bar for a birthday party and were not disappointed! The staff is incredibly attentive and fun. We had a total blast, plenty of space to chat and also seats at the bar and a few tables

This bar was right across the street from our Airbnb. Our place didn't have a tv and we needed a place to catch the NBA playoffs during our vacation. The Turnmill ended up being the most convenient lifesaver during our stay. Service was pretty good, except the last night when it was really busy but that was understandable. Great beer selection. The food was ok, nothing out of this world. But we weren't disappointed either. Great spot to catch sports games and just an all-around good vibe.

This place was just ok, hence the 3 star rating. We came for HH, but they unfortunately do not have a HH menu to explain prices. There aren't even any prices for the beers on the big wall behind the bar, which is never a good sign. We thought the deal was $5 off draft beers, but when we got our bill it was actually just $2 off a drafts. So our $11 beer was $9...what a deal. Waitresses were nice, but constantly came to our table asking if we wanted another drink which got annoying. Must have been asked 15 times over the course of an hour. Probably would not return.

Came here for happy hour, $6 for wine, not bad for New York. Their spinach artichoke dip is delicious, very creamy and served with pita bread which is something different. Ordered grilled chicken as well which was good. staff very friendly, nice environment!

Some bars are great because you love the staff and/or the selection. Some bars are great because they make delicious fried things. Some bars are OK because they are close to your office, and they have a decent happy hour. Turnmill is one of the latter. On the plus side, it's fairly large, it has a decent beer list, and you can exchange money for alcohol here...all important points if you're trying to gather a big group after work. The staff will eventually get you the drinks you ordered, despite being overworked by the gigantic crowd of people that need to drink after long days in offices nearby. However, they royally screwed up mozzarella sticks (and our planned gathering including said sticks); since I don't really understand how that's possible, I'm not going to dive any deeper on their food. But if you need drinks and a place to drink them, they have that covered.

This is the best bar in NYC!! Andrew and Megan are our regular servers and they always take the best care of us. We are big fans of the weekly trivia and come back pretty much every week because of how much we love it. The food is great and the service is fast and friendly. Definitely check it out if you're in the area!

I came here before a harry styles concert the other day and it was amazing. The service was fast and the food was tasty. I definitely recommend!

Flatiron bar located off a sidestreet on E27th with a sick happy hour that goes noon until 7pm. Happy Hour 12pm-7pm Daily $4 Domestic Bottles $5 Domestic Draft $6 Mixed Drinks $6 Wine $1 off Premium Bottles & Draft Decent crafty beer list. Was here for a company event on Thursday night and saw about 20 on tap. Did not try the food but I saw many plates of the normal pub-grub being served around us. Chill vibe with a rustic decor. Good spot for a group get together after work, but man its packed and loud. Back room is a cozy spot with a fireplace that is set up nice for a work function or party. They take reservations too if needed for a small group or larger gathering. Reminds me of a local neighborhood college sports bar. Frats in suits.

Happy hour 12-7 every day- it's the best!! You can choose from beers, wines, and ciders plus a few mixed drinks at 4-6$ which is unbeatable for city prices. Came with a group on a weekend. Great service. Got negroni (unfortunately not covered by happy hour) and nachos with jalapeños and beef (amazing).

Spacious bar with decent food menu. Problem is they sometimes serve old beer. You also reek of fried food when you leave. You will need to air your clothing out & shower immediately since the smell is so strong. Other than that, it's an OK place for happy hour with a group of friends. They also are very accommodating to reserve space for parties. I've been there for a few work happy hours and an engagement celebration.

We walked in for a drink after dinner at Eataly around 9pm. I walked in behind my cousin and her friend. We ran into an employee who recognized me, I said hello and we used the bathroom as my mom and cousin bought drinks. There were five of us, my mom and my aunt are both 65 years old and my cousin was with her girlfriend. After we bought a round of drinks at the bar and sat at a table a manager named Brian, who initially claimed to be the owner, approached the table with a receipt and said "I understand one of my employees has personal beef (yes he actually said personal beef - it was like having a fever dream!!) with you so I'm going to refund you and ask you to leave" - shortly after, he couldn't give us receipts to show a voided payment to refund us, but he did say verbatim that "we needed to trust him bc he was allowing us to keep our drinks" - mind you we paid for the drinks without any proof of being refunded!! We kindly walked out shortly after this awful interaction with Brian. We barely spoke to anyone and were asked to leave the bar because you have a disgruntled employee? Please feel free to watch your security footage of these interactions - it's disgusting behavior and was insanely embarrassing!! Spoke to a gentleman named Tom this morning, will be emailing the owners shortly!

A manager here, Eamonn, came up to me completely out of the blue while I was talking to my friends and asked me if I knew them. He then took it upon himself to move my beer from one place to another at the bar. When I asked him to explain himself, he said I had apparently talked to someone at the bar who worked there at some point in the night. I told him I didn't feel very welcome after his behavior and he slapped me on the back. When I told him I wanted to leave and he'd have to waive the credit card minimum for me, he cursed at me. I made it very clear that it wasn't acceptable for him to act the way he did towards me, and he said I was making too big a deal out of things. I do think it's a big deal to be able to go someplace and not be harassed. Eamonn should have no role in any managerial capacity, or even be allowed to set foot in a place where he feels he's entitled to harass people. My group of 10-15 were practically the only people left in the bar when this all happened. We left shortly thereafter due to Eamonn's rude and obnoxious behavior.

Friendly staff, pretzel is very tasty. Good happy hour and awesome if you're a soccer fan with all the big games playing

While a neighboring bar was holding a private event, my friends and I changed venues and Happy Hour-ed here on a quiet Saturday afternoon. Having many tables for groups up to 6, stools at the bar, a wide selection of beers, and enough typical bar food-- this is a nice divey joint to relax with a couple of beers. Typical Manhattan prices with beers slightly under $10, and $10+ for food. Never been here when it's busy but through a recommendation from a loyal customer and friend, he has had many a great night here. Come here on a Saturday afternoon, and you won't have to yell over the music to have a conversation.

I came into this place because it came up number 1 when I heard cool bars in the Flatiron District and I was satisfied. It's an awesome local bar with a great happy hour. I had there Grilled Cheese Sandwich (Toasted Aged Cheddar & Fontina Cheese on toasted Pullman Sourdough Extras $2: Bacon / Ham / Tomato & Onion) which was AMAZING! I would 100% recommend this spot if you are looking for a great happy hour or somewhere to watch a sporting game as well.

their friendliness and accommodating service will make me feel happy thoughts whenever i think about Turnmill. they will reserve tables and areas for your party and i LOVE how much they check on you to make sure your tables have enough of anything and everything. the nachos are pretty tasty...but the fries are my favorite. Happy Hour and sports on the t.v.- nothing more, nothing less.

food is so good but service is garbage. the salad was amazing and the burger but the service is slow. not sure why bc it wasn't busy but yeah

Great sports bar! Awesome beer selection and very good happy hour specials (discounts on wine, house mixed drinks, and domestic beer). We came on a Thursday and even though it was packed, we were able to snag a table. Servers were pretty attentive.
