Yelp
Turntable Chicken Jazz is a homely korean fried chicken place in the ktown area. The decor inside is very reflective of its restaurant name, with Jazz musician posters and pictures all around.
I visited the restaurant for a large bday party of 18 people, and we were very happy the restaurant was able to accomodate such. Service was not stellar, as we had to reach out to a few of the wait staff at times to get our requested items (water refills, utensils, etc), but such is to be expected when you are in a large group.
The food itself was lackluster, resulting in the low rating. The best thing we ate was the crispy calamari in my opinion, with a very nice spicy mayo accompanying the dish. The fried chicken was indeed very crispy, even with the sauce covering, but the sauce itself was really overly salty, and their boneless chicken breast tasted of just the coating to me; I could hardly recognize the chicken inside. The kimchi pancake was also nothing to write home about, definitely something I could make better myself at home.
The bathrooms here consist of 3 unisex bathrooms, that is unfortunately very reminiscent of ktown clubs, but clean enough to wash your hands post-chicken wing meal.
All in all, for a large party, this is a spot to consider given limited seating in all nyc restaurants, but maybe some takeout korean fried chicken from elsewhere and a cozy apartment party might be a better alternative instead.
