The Best Burgers in Seattle

"This family-friendly spot in Capitol Hill crafts burgers with inventive additions such as green chile cream cheese, house-made pickles, hop-garlic mayo, and fried avocado. The restaurant also touts a 20-tap rotating draft list for the grownups, and for the kids, junior burgers and draft root beer floats. The best seats might be at the bright blue counter where you can watch all the burger-making action." - Jay Friedman

The Dinner & A Movie Guide: Where To Eat Near 11 Theaters

"Maybe you’re already running late and if you sit down to a full meal, you run the risk of missing the beginning of the movie. If Christopher Nolan directed it, you’ll probably get confused anyway, but even worse than missing the beginning would be missing the previews. The burgers and fries at Two Doors Down come out fast, it’s never excessively busy inside, and you’ll want the garlic mayo on your taste buds for the entire duration of an action thriller because it has actual hops in it - yes, like “beer hops.”" - aimee rizzo

Where To Get A Last-Minute Group Dinner On Capitol Hill

"Two Doors Down is another great place for a sit-down burger that you can get into without waiting. It’s on a not-so-busy part of Madison and they have a lot of seating - both of these things make it great if you want to catch up with a friend or have dinner with your family who was “in the area and decided to drop by.” The food ranges from classic cheeseburgers to a fried avocado sandwich served between two corn cakes. Don’t forget to order some crispy fries with garlic-hop mayo." - aimee rizzo

Seattle Restaurants Expanding Delivery and Takeout Due to Coronavirus Measures - Eater Seattle

Two Doors Down Review - Capitol Hill - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Two Doors Down is a solid neighborhood spot for some burgers and fries with your kids (if you have kids), or with a group of friends. The beer selection is great, as are the burgers. They do corn dogs and grilled cheese, too, but if you’re here for one thing, it’s the excellently crispy french fries with hoppy garlic mayo. Our one caveat? Stay away from the gluten-free buns. They soak up grease like a sponge - you’re better off wrapping that thing in lettuce if you can’t have wheat." - Aimee Rizzo

Google
Solid choice for a family friendly burger joint. The burgers are made fresh right behind the ordering counter along with shakes and fries. The next room over has a full tap room featuring local and regional beers. If you're going with two people just order one fry and split it because it's enough for two, but a basket is enough for three or four people. Street parking is available as there's no dedicated lot. Service is very nice but you do bus your own tables.

Google
Great place for a simple burger. The menu here isn't large. It is cap hill pricing. I got the 420 burger with a lettuce wrap. The fried avocado was interesting. I order online from their site and picked up. There was only 2 other customers besides me that night so no wait. This place has some large tables for groups! Fries were a little soggy. I also wouldn't pay $.50 cents more for their house made sauces. There is construction in the area so best to come from the side street instead of Madison.

Google
So excited to have found this place! Dedicated gluten free fryer, and amazing burgers! The fried cheese curds were amazing, as well. We will definitely go back whenever we are in the area. They also have a nice selection of beers and ciders.

Google
This place has really solid burgers. They also make good poutine for our neighbors to the North. There's a beer list with large variety. Finding parking near here can be a challenge at certain times of day. And we've had our pickup orders be wrong on multiple occasions. Still a good place, I'll keep coming back.

Google
I came in for the 2 Doors Down burger with fries and a root beer. The burger was ok enjoyed the fries which had a lot of tid bits, which is why I love steak fries. The place is cozy, you can come in and walk up and place your order. The booths were very comfy. I was on my daily walk, when I found myself in front of Two Doors Down. This time I tried the Bahn Mi Burger, it was good though the fermented cabbage looked a bit tired. The fries were a bit too salty but ok overall. I really enjoyed the Crater Lake Root Beer.

Google
Unbelievably delicious. I had really high expectations based on reviews, and Two Doors down managed to exceed them. Service and customizations were so helpful and friendly. Randall and Isaiah absolutely made this an incredible experience, with the most delicious burger and fries I’ve had in years. I’ll be back frequently.

Google
First time here and damn! Love. It. The burgers as well as the rest of the food is fantastic. Service is fantastic. Staff is so amazing and so laid back. And they have great beer. And the space itself is so well designed.

Google
There are several gluten free and vegetarian options. There is a set of stairs inside, but exterior doors can take you to either end. Order at the counter and your food will be brought to your table. Service was good!

Yelp
This is one of my go too! Always tasty, delicious, and the atmosphere is perfect! If you're looking for some tasty beers, on tap, this is a great place to come! It's a neighborhood joint that is always popping! I'm basic, when it comes to my burgers, and always get the classic with cheddar, can't get it any other way! Enjoy!!!

Yelp
You'll probably come for the burgers but you'll reaaaally want to stay for the fries and shakes -- some of my fav in the city! Service has always been nice and quick & the ambiance is super chill; such a welcome place in the neighborhood. It's cool they have options for those with dietary restrictions (veggie, GF, etc). Lastly, their beer on draft is nice and cold -- if I'm looking for a burger joint in the area, I'd come here.

Yelp
I've found my new favorite local burger place! My partner and I went to our previous usual burger spot but their fryer was broken meaning no fries, so I reluctantly started looking for alternative options. Luckily it led us to 2 Doors Down, which an acquaintance had recommended. Despite the weird cluster of construction around its entrance and hard to find neighborhood parking nearby, once we got there it was really great. I went with the classic burger and it was absolutely my idea of a great burger - quarter pound of local beef, the fixings, and secret sauce, all inside a Kaiser bun, which I'm not so used to but realize I like a lot. The basket of fries was well spiced and fried just right, and honestly I wouldn't mind replacing my McDonald's fry preference with the ones here. For someone who likes enjoying my burger with a lightly alcoholic beverage on warm days, I also loved that they served local cider, which they sold by the tulip, and it was my first time trying Snowdrift which was fantastic. The fact that we live dangerously close (within walking distance) definitely means I'll be back whenever I have a burger craving, which is admittedly fairly often.

Yelp
Average, over priced and just not impressive at all. The tall bald guy taking orders was rushy and so dry. I ordered a soda and he didn't bring it out with the food so he said you didn't order it - I said ok can you bring it ? Yes, give me a card to charge. Really ? I'm not going to flee mid meal for $4 can of soda. That was ew and the food was mediocre for the outrageous pricing. $15 for a soggy burger jammed with jalapeños and minimal meat. Fries weee salty, onion rings were good.

Yelp
Got take out from two doors down this week and I would say, skip this place. The burgers have no flavor, the cheese option is bland, the bun falls apart in your hands and the fries are over seasoned. I would not recommend if you're craving a burger.

Yelp
Great place to get burgers. Clean, fast, food is good. That's it. No frills, almost no menu options, uninteresting ambience, but sometimes this is a good thing! Beer selection is well-curated. Great for a solid family meal in a pinch.

Yelp
Some manager or something named Erin was SO RUDE. Food wasn't terrible, small portions though. Not worth it for the management being as rude as they are.

Yelp
A great place to grab a quick burger. This place has secured its niche as a quick, mid-tier quality burger joint very effectively. I come here often to eat on a short lunch break or satiate an appetite before a night out. The burgers, while delectable, serve on the smaller side, so I would definitely recommend getting a side of fries for any order. Thankfully, fries here are deliciously seasoned, and a great investment nonetheless. Service is friendly, and Seahawks games are always up on the TV. 2 Doors Down is definitely a solid, comfortable spot for a lunch out.

Yelp
Might as well eat fast food to be honest it's really small and sad burgers been back a few times and I don't stomach it

Dustin D.

Yelp
Good burgers and fries. I got the Green Chile Burger and my partner got the Banh Mi Burger. Both were wonderful fusion twists. Service was exceptional.
google avatar

Yelp
A great spot for burgers! I love that everything on the menu can be subbed to be vegetarian, so it's a crowd-pleaser for all. You order at the table and can seat yourself -- our party of 7 easily found space at one of the larger benches. I got the green chili burger and it was just the right amount of heat -- it was really filling and the perfect amount of food. They also have a large list of beers and ciders, which I look forward to trying when I come back again!

Yelp
I've been coming here for many years, and sadly it's slowly gone downhill. Dined in today and the fries were cold and came out before the burgers with no good explanation. The burgers are pretty small; even with an extra patty they aren't very satisfying. Also, it seems like the kitchen is always running behind no matter what time you go in.

Yelp
Looove this place. It's our go to to-go (palindrome haha) burger place because it's relatively close and fries don't get very soggy. Bahn mi burger is incredible. Their sauces/toppings are awesome. I think they used to have sweet potato fries and I'm so disappointed they got rid! But their regular fries are pretty dang good too. I'm not attaching the best photo but it was our most recent order where we were trying to eat lower carb. They can do any burger on a lettuce wrap / bun! Plenty of burger options and they are very accommodating with changes! They have meatless patties and gluten free buns so should be something for everyone. They also have an excellent selection of beers and a cider or two.

Yelp
I was craving a burger and decided to try out this spot. The service is amazing and everyone is super friendly. The restaurant itself is super clean and has plenty of seating. I got a burger with cheese and I was pretty disappointed. The buns just don't work well with the burger. It's nice that they're gluten free but a potato bun would have tasted a lot better. The beef patty itself lacked flavour, it didn't taste like it was seasoned. The fries on the other hand were amazing and delicious. I'd definitely come and give this place a second chance just because the service was great!

Alana T.

Yelp
Not a huge burger fan but man. I could probably eat these everyday lol. Perfect size especially with a side of small fries. Got it take out, I live close by so my burger wasn't soggy when I got home - I got the banh mi burger. So good!! Partner got green chile, his was soggy because of the cream cheese but loved the flavours. Fries are bomb and SAUCESSS WERE SO GOOD! Will have to dine in next time!

Betty J.

Yelp
Best corn dogs hands down. This place is nowhere near where I live but the drive is so worth it. One corndog isn't enough and two is too much. Awww the struggle

Pedro ..

Yelp
Great service and atmosphere. Love the neighborhood. Food was good. Fries great. Burgers a solid meal with plenty of options.

Yelp
We were craving burgers and stumbled upon this place near Capitol Hill/central district. It's has a very casual atmosphere where you order on the counter and grab a seat. They also have a good selection of beers at the bar. We ordered the two doors burger, the onion rings, and had the oreo shake as well! We LOVED the oreo milkshake as it was super creamy and delicious. The burger was good, but nothing super special in our opinion. The onion rings were also not bad but we wished they were a little more crunchy. They also had a lot of excess oil on them so we had to wipe it off with a napkin. However, the sauce they came with was SO GOOD. I think it was a garlic mayo? Not too sure but I'd def come back for the sauce. Overall, this is a great little spot if you're looking for a quick casual bite with friends, and are craving some classic American favorites. We enjoyed our meal overall and this place definitely fulfilled my burger craving.

Yelp
Food was extremely slow. Upon checking with the cashier, he said the order was lost... Busy street right in the front.

Yelp
Calling all vegetarians, meat lovers, and beer enthusiasts - this place is for you! I stumbled upon this place in a quieter neighborhood while passing through Seattle and I came here two nights in a row because of how much I liked it! They have an excellent beer selection, with about 20 on tap, including a large selection of rotating seasonal ones. You can build a flight of 4 for $7 or $2 a piece, which is a great deal in my opinion. I had the Fried Avocado sandwich and a side of fries and both were excellent! The avocado sandwich was on (GF) corn cakes so it tasted like fried goodness on some savory pancakes. The sauce added so much flavor and the perfectly seasoned/cooked fries on the side were delicious! For $2.50, the side of fries was generous and well worth it. Prices overall are very fair and on the cheaper side for a big city. As a traveler on a budget, I always love finding reasonably priced restaurants with quality food. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

Yelp
Previously I had done take out, this time decided to stop by. The ambience is nice. The server was really friendly. The burger was okay for me for the price I paid. Fried were not hot as I would expect. I did really like the Ecliptic carina peach sour. I Will still visit this place to get hang of other food and drinks.

Yelp
I have been excited to try 2 Doors Down for awhile since their menu looks like so much fun! I can't tell if my experience was weird or what, but I did not like anything that I ordered. I got... * Banh Mi Burger - this ended up REALLY soggy due to the coleslaw. The burger itself was alright, but the soggy bottom bun really made it hard for me to enjoy this. * Fried avocado sandwich - The griddle cakes were a bit burnt to my liking, but they were really the only thing that I could really eat. The fried avocado itself was just weird to me. I tried this mainly out of curiosity, so I'm not too surprised that I didn't like it. Despite that, I still didn't like the overall composition of the sandwich. The griddle cakes were very dry and with the fried nature of the avocado, the textures were weird to me. The sauce also wasn't flavorful to make up for the subtle flavors of everything else. * Northwest dog - this was my favorite thing that I got, but it wasn't particularly special. It was an amped up Seattle dog that definitely is a bit more unique than a typical Seattle dog, but not much more that I'd come back for this. I don't think I'll be back under any circumstance. I feel like their menu has potential, but perhaps I'd want better execution and more finesse to reflect the vision the menu is giving out.

Yelp
Tried this place tonight on takeaway. Got the Firehouse burger. I also got a seasonal milkshake which was delicious. The fries we got were a lot, and very good. I just wish they would have come with a dipping sauce.

Yelp
What a great surprise! My SO and myself don't often walk down on the East side of Capitol Hill, but my curious adventure loving foodie in me was determined to try something new! Two Doors Down was open and the idea of burgers and fries convinced me to try it out. I ordered the monthly special, I think it was called The Train Whistle [$11] (beef patty, cheese, bacon and deep fried green tomatoes). My So got the Two Doors Down Burger [$11] (beef patty, cheese, bacon w/ bbq sauce). All with a side o'fries. I'm pretty picky when it comes to burgers that aren't fast food. I appreciate how they cooked the beef patties and warm the buns on the flat top, but I did miss the char flavour from not being on a grill. The burger over all was solid. Plus who doesn't like bacon on their burger? But I got to say their fries really shown. for $3.50 you get enough fries to share. I'm not 100% but they seemed to make their fries in house...? Well seasoned and crispy. Plus did I mention that they have beer on tap? Like at least 10-15 different types. Bring a growler and bring some home. Go venture and try all your local yummy spots, you'll be surprised what you'll find.
google avatar

Yelp
We got takeout from here and took it to the beach! The burgers were really tasty. the Two Doors burger was great! it was quite large and the toppings were great. I also thought the banh mi burger was really good, it has a lot of acidity which make it a very unique taste. Also, I'm from Wisconsin so I love a good cheese curd. These were very tasty and gooey. great with a garlic aoli dipping sauce!
google avatar

Yelp
I just tried Two Doors Down for the first time and it did not disappoint! AMAZING fries- perfectly seasoned and dipped in the special sauce for perfection. I built my own burger and did a 1/3 lb patty, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions and the green chili cream cheese. Meat was high quality and the cream cheese was delicious. Can't wait to go back again soon!
google avatar

Zac A.

Yelp
We stopped in for a quick burger today and would definitely return! If you're looking for a fast casual burger (and more) this is a great spot! They have a ton of local beers on tap too. Food service was fast. We ordered and we're told "we are a little backed up so it may be longer than usual". We had our food 10 mins later! I only have 4 stars due to the bartender seemingly not caring. We asked for water and she said she would in a minute, then never did. Went back up to ask again and she said oh yea, then helped another customer, then got us our water. There were maybe 3 people at the bar total... The burgers are really really good, but the price adds up fast. Burgers do not come with fires, so a $16 burger and a small portion of fries is $19. We got 2 burgers (the 420 and the Two Doors signature), a basket of fries and basket of onion rings and it was about $57. Ranch is extra but the aioli with the onion rings was very tasty' Would recommend and definitely stop in again!

Yelp
Such a cute place. The food was excellent and the service was amazing. The staff was so sweet. Such tasty homemade sweets and treats. They even had treats for dogs

Yelp
This is a very mixed review. We have eaten/ordered from here a few times and have always really enjoyed it, but this last experience was really bad. My husband and I ordered two bahn mi burgers. We have tried the gluten free buns before but decided to go for the lettuce wrap this time. What we got was extremely disappointing. The burger was extremely over cooked- so dry it was almost crumbly. The lettuce wraps were not wraps- they were just two soggy pieces of lettuce, parts of which were super old- slimy and turning black and brown. I really couldn't believe they served such nasty looking produce. The patty was absolutely cold- not any residual heat left in the meat at all. The burgers were just bad. For 9 bucks a piece plus a 20 percent tip, we felt really ripped off. The fries were good tho, so... silver lining? I will say we have had much better experiences eating here in the past and will likely try again, but probably not right away. I think they may be understaffed or otherwise compromised by the ongoing pandemic. Previously, I have been a big fan of the bahn mi (and actually all their burgers). Everything I've had had great flavors and the pickles are generous and taste homemade. Their fries, I love- super well seasoned and just the right texture. Maybe our quality issue was related to the times, but as someone who has cooked my whole life, I would have been mortified to serve this. It was inedible. I don't know if I'll be back before the world returns to normalcy.

Yelp
Super delicious and the garlic Mayo is so amazing it was delicious! The grilled cheese was super good since it had avocado and tomato's. I recommend!

Dale C.

Yelp
This review is way overdue! I have a gluten allergy and Two Doors down has the best burger I have ever eaten. I am not from Seattle and was searching for a good gluten free burger..... I found it and they have a customer for life. If I am in Seattle, I am definitely visiting Two Doors Down!

Yelp
This place is literally two doors down from my house. But I'm glad of all the burger joints it's this one. Nice and clean eating area, wonderful staff, and great affordable burgers. You can get a simple burger for 6$, or any of their upgraded ones for a little more. My favorite is the fire alarm and the bahn mi burger. The fire alarm burger is nice and spicy, hot on the tongue but not sweat inducing. The bahn mi burger is sour, crunchy, and yummy. It's super far away from a classic bahn mi but if u have the Asian plate then you'll enjoy it still. They have a lot of local beer on draft too, though their growler fills are a little pricey. They also have non burger options like a corn dog, poutine, etc. finally they have a two buck club where you save 2$ every time you come (14 dollar fee to be part of the club). This place is best used as a quick lunch or a dinner with large groups :).

Rasika W.

Yelp
It was a solid burger. The sauce however was AMAZING. If a place has a special secret sauce you know it's gonna be good.

Yelp
Not bad for a burger spot! They have several unique options for burgers and brews which is such a beautiful combination! Because of this combo I knew I was in for a treat and Two Doors Down did not disappoint. Their name is pretty unique and I wondered what it meant but they serve their burgers at the bar next to them too! At least from what I observed. This is such an interesting concept, never seen it before! You order your food and drinks at the bar, they give you a number and they drop of food, and you put your plates away. So no waiter service which is fine for us! We ordered the 420 burger and the Two doors burger with a big basket of fries. To me, what impresses me most is having crispy fries that don't taste too salty & they delivered for sure! The burgers were top notch as well. I really enjoyed my two doors burger but it was quite a big portion so took the rest home for another meal. The 420 burger was flavorful and unique. Got a porter to take down some of the sodium to enjoy on a cold winters evening. Everyone was verrryyy nice and friendly but not overly so. There are also board games there, which I'm sure are for kids but we indulged ourselves in some connect 4. It is a happening place down in Madison Valley area.

Yelp
Food was meh. The staff was extremely condescending. I've tried this place twice in 6 years. And I'm happy to know I don't ever need to go back. The employees were aggressive and just rude. Don't waste your time.

Angela M.

Yelp
Great burgers, really cool aesthetic, and the service was amazing! I got the only spicy burger on the list and it was very tasty. My friends all tried different burgers and said each of them were great. Their fries did not disappoint either. You have to try all of their sauces --they're all delicious-- and dip the fries in the sauce!! I love that they have growlers and do refills on them too. Definitely will be coming here often. :)

Yelp
I love this place. The owner seems super cool. And I usually have a good experience/good food quality. Yesterday was super nice. The guy working the taps was super friendly and open to hearing new breweries which was cool. The ladies [if that's your pronouns!] Working register were super sweet. And the burger and fries I had were fantastic. Good crew! Miss some of the other folks who work there but that's the industry for ya - coming and going. I hope you guys stock Best of Hands beer! They are soooo good =]

Yelp
i've eaten here before and there was never a problem, but i got food poisoning yesterday from a takeout order. so disappointed.
google avatar

Alec L.

Yelp
Big fan of their food, but disappointing customer service on our most recent take out order. They put the wrong cheese on our burgers, but of course we wouldn't know until we got home. Gave them a call, and was told they would refund the $1.50 for the cost of the cheese. That's not how you get someone to come back, and is a little insulting.
google avatar

Valerie T.

Yelp
MEH. Came in because I was looking for a place that was open later for a burger. Service at the front counter was distracted. Burger was literally the same as if you went and got a Costco frozen Patty and then put it on a dry crumbling brioche bun. All dry. Nothing special AT ALL. It was MEH. The fries were fine. Definitely will be going to somewhere that has a juicer Patty and a non-crumbly bun.

Yelp
Last night I decided to grab something to go from Two Doors Down for dinner. I went w/ the classic which contains a quarter pound beef patty, onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, & their secret sauce, as well as some fries on the side. Taking a bite into the burger, I could tell that it was well put together, containing great flavor. Every bite is a reminder of how a burger should be. Complimenting it w/ the side of fries is an overall great meal.

Yelp
Huge portions. Great taste. Always excellent with handling gluten free. 100% recommend to anyone looking for a decent burger. Never been disappointed. Always fast. What else can I say?

Yelp
Pretty good burgers and hot dogs. Not amazing, but it hits the spot. Always great service.

Yelp
This was my second visit to Two Doors Down. However, the only reason I went back was because a group of friends wanted to check it out for brunch. My first visit wasn't very memorable and my second visit wasn't amazing either. It is a good spot for a large group though. There were 5 of us and while the dining area is quite small, there's a table that seats 12. You order at the counter and can either leave your tab open or close it out right then. This is perfect because as you know with large groups, it can be a pain asking for split checks and waiting while they sort it out. After you're done, you just bus your own table and walk out! Tip for the restaurant: you really should be more mindful of the expiration dates on your dairy items. I got Stumptown cold brew with milk, which had an expiration date of December 31, 2016. A solid 3 weeks old. The food: the breakfast fritters are quite tasty and come with an interesting Apple ginger butter. The fries are pretty good. Banh Mi burger was meh. They have lots of different beers on tap and a few ciders. Overall, it's just mediocre in my book and I won't be rushing back.
google avatar

Meme R.

Yelp
Food was outstanding the fries were simply delicious well seasoned. Parking is hard to find and they only taken electronic payments. The line was very long about 30 minute wait for a to go order. But the food is worth it.
google avatar

Jeremie L.

Yelp
The best thing about this place is the hand dipped corn dogs. The burgers are meh and the fries are way too salty. Tried to get the onion rings and were told they are out. How the EFF do you have onions and corn dog batter but not able to make onion rings?!?!?!
google avatar

Brian G.

Yelp
I have a lot of grace and respect for what's going on in the restaurant business. But when the app says 35 minutes and when you show up and they are running 30 minutes behind it doesn't really work for me. Be aware they do not have their takeout service working efficiently. 30 people waiting outside. Social distance is difficult. Not ideal. This isn't a food comment or how hard they are working. Just a failure to manage the situation. And this isn't their first weekend so buyer beware. Update: took 30 minutes after my 45 minute digital quote. With 2 "it'll be 10 more minute" extensions. FYI.
