"In 2006, second-generation owner and former after-school educator Nikki Cooper took over her family business, which has served Southern comfort food at the corner of Haight and Webster for 41 years. After two renovations and inspired by a deeply loyal following, Cooper was awarded a San Francisco Legacy Business designation in 2016, ensuring a viable lease and historical street cred in a brutal commercial real estate market. During Throw Back Thursdays, prices reflect the original 1977 menu—$2 beers and the Cap Snapburger (cornmeal-crusted snapper slathered in mayo and melted American cheese on a soft seeded bun) is the way to go." - ByShakirah Simley

Ms. Nikki is one of the nicest, most authentic and genuine persons I have ever met. She was kind and the food ands were amazing. It was even the spot where I met Justin James Bridges better known as the Mad Dabber 710, check it out!

The portion size was super small and it seemed like they split the cat fish fillet in strips. I was not impressed this time eating here in the past they were really good but I rather eat at the one by candle stick park. I'm sorry will not be back and the lady or owner wasn't very nice she seemed very dry and had a I don't want to be here attitude. I almost didn't order because the lack of customer service was complete turn off Please fix the food and your attitude.

Great food, alright service, but go on "Throw Back Thursdays". I believe 4-7pm on Thursday. They have great deals burgers for $2, fries $1, prawns$2-$3, Oysters, salads, soups, fish burger, snapper, etc very good quality. Only thing about throw back Thursday you must eat food you order during that time there. So bring the whole family. Otherwise order from main menu you can take to go but food is at regular price. Hope you enjoy.

I judge a southern soul food restaurant by two things, its sweet tea and its mac and cheese, in that order. To be truly authentic, those things must be perfect. The mac and cheese was rich and creamy, delicious. Its sweet tea however, was terrible. Any southerner would turn it back in an instant! I ordered sweet tea and got lemon ice tea. Really?!? While we as Californians may think little of this, there's a real big difference between the two. The prices are fair, but the portions are smaller than expected. Read the menu carefully for you only get what is stated there. For example, not all burger orders come with frys, even though all burgers are on the same menu board, weird isn't it? Overall, decent food for a fair price.

Quick service and delicious food at reasonable prices. I had the oyster poboy with sides of mac & cheese, greens and yams. The yams were probably some of the best I’ve ever had in my life, probably not the healthiest, but totally worth it!

The catfish was beautifully fried, for sure. Light and crispy and not laden with heavy seasoning, which I like. The much raved about mac n cheese however, honestly seemed like it could have come out of a box. And the side of greens I ordered arrived at the table mostly cold.. (lukewarm in spots), and didn't have much flavor. Maybe Californians like their 'soul food' greens this way, but not this nola boy. Potato salad was pretty good and creamy. Prices were reasonable. Won't be recommending this place to anyone unless they really need a fried catfish fix!

This place is SOOOOO GOOOD! Had the catfish fillets and the potato salad. Both were fantastic! Catfish had a great crunchy cornmeal batter, and potato salad was the perfect consistency. Made this southern boys heart happy! Just like home!

I work in the city. I try to eat at two jacks Nik's place at least once a week. I haven't had the chance to go in and sit I'm normally on the go. But there is always nice music playing, and it's very clean. I have eaten at two jacks since I was a kid. Nik's place took it to a whole new level. If you like spicy try the ask for the jambalaya.....love the chicken wings it's what I order.
