Uccello Lounge

Uccello Lounge is absolutely charming! The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. While the menu is limited, every dish was delicious—and honestly, having fewer options made choosing easier. Highly recommend, 10/10!

I sat at the bar and had a great time. It was a relatively quiet Saturday, so it was only me and a few other guests at the bar, but there was plenty of space since it wraps around forming a U-shape around the bartenders. It was my first time having a michelada, and the esquites were delicious too! They mentioned this was a pop-up menu, but I'm looking forward to coming back to try their original menu.

Wow. Incredible food with great beverage selection. I had the Flatbread to start. Very tasty. As a main I had the vegetarian dumplings that just melted in your mouth. I am not a big dessert fan but the Vacherin was perfect.

Such an amazing place! We happened to be passing by with no agenda and saw live jazz being performed and had to stop for a quick bite and drink. Shoutouts to Josh and his band; what a great way to end the night!

Hubby and I walked over to check this place out tonight. The service was excellent as was the food and cocktails we ordered. I really liked the flavor the bean pole salad with the 5 spice duck. I will definitely visit again. Come check it out!

Literally across the street from Symphony Hall but not on the Hayes Valley side so kind of hard to see. I delighted in dishes like fritto misto, tossed with rice flour instead of wheat flour. Dungeness crab salad, zhuzhed up with celery root remoulade and capers, then topped with rice crackers and fines herbs, is a perfect expression of Chef Keller's style, balancing classic flavors and fresh herbs; presented with style, without pretense or pounding your taste buds into submission. There is a forthrightness alongside the lighter flavors. And yes, the staff timed our meal to make sure we left with 15 minutes to go until curtain. I can't wait to go back and see what inspires chef Keller next.

Food was good, yet should be served well hot, at this elevated price. Good place for a small dinner before the symphony.

Attended a private party here that was fantastic. Servers were superb, food was fantastic, menu was memorable, and the drinks were delicious. Head chef came out to greet the party at the end. Great atmosphere and amazing acoustics - had a small jazz duo playing during hors doeuvres and the audio was great - could still carry on a perfect conversation while hearing the music, and during service in a room with +40 people, the conversations were audible and clear due to the baffling on the ceiling - definitely an A+ for the acoustics. All the right touches are there to make this place great.

Love this place. I've been close to ten times at this point, I think. It's conveniently located near City Hall and other city and county buildings. The waxwing martini (basically their version of a vesper) is always my go-to pre-dinner cocktail. They also serve several nonalcoholic cocktails, which is nice. The mushroom flatbread is a great share plate, as are the grilled wild shrimp skewers. When they've got it, the mushroom cappuccino (under small) is to die for. My favorite mains are the duroc pork schnitzel and the Turkish manti dumplings. The live music is great-lots of talent, not so loud that you can't continue your conversation. The staff is welcoming and helpful. This restaurant is a surprise, for sure. It's a wonderful addition to the Van Ness corridor.

This is a very good restaurant to make a stop at before you go to the Symphony, Ballet, or City Hall for an event. It is on the ground floor of the Music of Conservatory building. I wish I had known that before it took me a bit to find it since the signage is not that obvious. It's relatively small but the food was big in flavor and presentation. Everything we ate was very good. The cocktails were beautiful and unique as well. Very impressed with the food, drinks and service.

No place I'd rather go after the Symphony is over. Uccello is staffed by Conservatory students, I understand. My friend and I had Hiyab, who was absolutely charming. Just a glass of EH Taylor and a Waxwing martini, with some carpaccio to wash it down. But the huge glass front facing Davies Hall, and high ceilings, made it feel so bright and open. There was an excellent three piece jazz ensemble, presumably students as well. I'll always stop by when the music stops.

A fabulous hidden gem on Van Ness. The food is really diverse - everything from pretzel Parker house rolls to Korean griddle cakes to Ukrainian dumplings to elegant salads - and all delicious. Cocktails and wine list are also superb, and make sure to get dessert! Service has been friendly and warm each time we've visited. They have live music from the conservatory, which I haven't had the pleasure to enjoy yet but hope to check out soon. Put this on your list!

My husband and I had an amazing time at Uccello Lounge! We came on a Friday at 7:30pm for dinner, which was perfect timing because the live music starts at 8pm! We ordered some apps, drinks, and entrees to share, but my favorites were the dungeness crab salad, calamari, and the black cod. The pear & walnut cake was to die for as well! The drinks are also pretty inventive--I loved their waxwing martini and 20th century cocktail, the latter being super creative with the creme de cacao. Hubby also liked his super shandy zero-proof cocktail with espresso and lemon. I know I said the food was good, but the live music was the highlight of our night! There aren't a lot of places where you can have a great dinner, strong drinks, and live music all in one. I also liked people watching from across the street of symphony hall too, ha! We will definitely be back for date night :) can't wait!

Creative food. Friendly, welcoming staff. Creative cocktails and mocktails. Unique views of Symphony Hall and the Opera House. Love this place!

I'll recommend this place because the food was solid plus on certain nights they have live music playing. The atmosphere is chill and the bar looks nice. The staff and super friendly and attentive. However when we went, a vagrant from the street was able to enter the lounge and disrupted the vibe. He didn't cause a commotion but was a reminder that this lounge is in the Civic Center and isn't immune from that element coming in. Additionally I was over charged on my bill which is never fun...

Had tickets for a show and Uccello looked like a nice place to have drinks and some bites beforehand. Totally was not disappointed. Staff were amazing. Seated us promptly and made excellent recs from the menu. The Uccello cappuccino was delicious and I savored every last drop. Nice, rich broth made of lobster and mushrooms and came with a nice buttery and crisp crouton. The potato batons were a treat too and I've never had a better goddess dressing/dip. Like an upscale tater tot on steroids lol. The tartar was nice as well as the swordfish. Save room for dessert. That's good too. Will have to come back for the live music.

This might be one of my favorite gems in the city! Who knew you could get amazing jazz music, delicious food and strong drinks all in one in San Francisco?! I definitely didn't! We went to check it out since we'd heard some amazing reviews but had no idea how incredible it'd be. First off, everything we ate was delicious! We ordered quite a few dishes and the flavors were ON POINT!! I can't wait to come back here! Also want to mention that there were a lot of vegetarian options (I feel like we ordered a lot of vegetarian dishes even though we're not vegetarians cause they sounded delicious). And don't get me started on the music!!!! It starts at 8PM and we stayed until the very end because we were mesmerized! Everything we ate was truly phenomenal! We ordered: - Crispy Potato Batons (I mean... even reading it makes me drool) - Uccello Cappuccino (probably one of the coolest creative things I've had in a while! It's a curried lobster mushroom broth served in a cup!) - Mushroom Tartare (I honestly didn't expect much when this arrived at the table and may even have complained about how it wasn't pretty but I ate my words y'all. The FLAVORS!!!) - Wild Nettle Flatbread (I don't know how they got the flatbread so flat and crispy but I 100% approve!!!) - Pickled Mackerel (also delicious and flavorful!) - Turkish Manti Dumplings (vegetarian and DELICIOUS) - Pacific Swordfish (cooked perfectly!!!!) Highly recommend!!!

Looking for a quiet date night in San Francisco? Look no further - Uccello offers live music and delectable food and drinks. Surrounded by glass windows, you'll get a nice view of Symphony Hall from across the street. Parking is metered, or if you can find a parking lot in the area. I took an Uber here since I planned on having some drinks. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. My friend and I shared the duck liver mousse, local halibut crudo, and turkish manti dumplings. The food is a little pricier and was mediocre, but tasty. Our faves was the crudo and turkish dumplings. The duck liver mousse was good too, but I think we expected more of a pate style. Their menu rotates, so I can't wait to see what they have next. You can always preview on their website. I got the 20th century cocktail and it was slightly sweet and refreshing. I'd definitely get it again if I came back.

Uccello lounge offers a excellent dining experience accompanied by soothing sounds of jazz music. The food is pricey, but it's also very good. We tried the flatbread, the potato batons, and the Turkish dumplings and though each dish was top notch. Definitely a symphony of flavor, texture and smell. The service both at the bar and on the dining floor was on point. Glad we visited and look forward to it again.

What a perfect spot before Symphony, Opera or Ballet! We booked a table and had such a lovely dinner and drinks. The server made sure he had us out in time. We shared the dishes tapas style and liked them all.

I live in the area and have been looking forward to trying the new restaurant at the SF Conservatory of Music. They are only open for dinner service from Thursday through Saturday and they offer a higher end dining experience. My friend and I shared their steak tartare, fried Monterey bay squid, stone fruit and baby lettuce salad, Turkish manti dumplings, wagyu strip steak and apricot cake. Everything was excellent. The steak tartare is a must order - their preparation with the shiso leaves and puffed rice really makes for a unique bite. The calamari came out nice and crispy and I loved the black garlic aioli. The stone fruit and baby lettuce salad was a highlight for me (and I'm not a salad person) - the honey vinaigrette really went well with the stone fruit and the toasted quinoa added a great crunch element to the dish. The Turkish manti dumpling is a unique dish that really blends East and West and the wagyu strip steak was so tender. When we asked about dessert, our server recommended the apricot cake and it was a great choice. They have really good non-alcoholic beverages and I highly recommend the Adriatic Spritz. Service was very attentive and the venue is just spectacular. Towards the end of our meal, they had some students performing a few of their jazz pieces. With tax and tip, this was $125 per person but it was worth it given the great experience. They are really a fantastic dining option for theater, opera and symphony goers. Highly, highly recommended.

The location and floor the ceiling windows take advantage of the great location to see the City Hall, Opera and Symphony and be centrally located for a pre-show dinner. The food was good and well-executed, there are some great technical skills and vision in the kitchen, but some of the dishes fell short in flavor or pairings. I think they need to have side dishes for the entrees, more vegetarian options, and maybe another salad for the starters. We got the leeks, which were nicely prepared but it was a very bland dish overall. The sauce was nice but it wasn't tantalizing for the taste buds. The carrots were beautifully prepared but there was too much going on and it was overly sweet. The yogurt was lost in all of it. I just found it overwhelming. My husband got the fish, it was beautiful, and nicely executed but it felt like a bare dish, it needed a side or something to compliment it. I got the duck, the leg was crispy, lean, and yummy. The bread with the patte was a strange pairing and then the dates were sweet and the entire dish was brown. It also needed a side and some acid to break it up. The service was OK but not very attentive in checking in and didn't introduce the restaurant or menu. They have students perform live in the evenings, hopefully they can put a schedule together but that was a nice touch. The group was doing some classical music, not really dinner appropriate but it was fine.

Coming to the San Francisco symphony and was able to get a table on Open Table 2 days before our event. The service was excellent, the bartender was fabulous but the food was average at best. I would likely not eat here again. The dessert was the best part of the meal. Skip this place is you can get a table elsewhere.

On my last visit I had a desert that I cannot stop thinking about!!! Also this perfect zero proof cocktail. The service was top notch and warm as usual.

This was an amazing find near my apartment and I was so glad to stumble on this place! Service was great, live music from the conservatory, and an amazing menu. You will not be disappointed!

What a gem of a place! Great food, great vibes, great service, great crowd. Permission Slip played tonight and did a great job. Will definitely be coming back.

We walked into Uccello lounge around 9pm on a Saturday, to grab dinner after a City arts and lecture event, across the street, at Sydney Goldstein Theater. The place had such a chill and pleasant vibe, with a talented jazz trio playing. The place wasn't super busy and we were seated immediately. We had the truffle mushroom flatbread, grilled lamb and the musician tart. All the items we ordered were delicious. Recommendations from the staff were on point. The place got super busy around 10pm (I am guessing another event wrapped up nearby) and we did have to wait a little longer to place our dessert order. However, we were full from the appetizer and mains and weren't in any hurry at all. Overall had a great experience dining here. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful new(ish) spot. Amazing location. Fabulous cocktails. Spectacular food. We had mushroom soup, calamari and Turkish dumplings. All deelish. We had a Martinez and Waxwing martini for drinks. Fabulous. The place would benefit from a curtain or something inside the front door to protect from the wind. They also need a host stand so people know there to go. Also one more server might make sense.

Great location in Hayes Valley. Staff and service are awesome and the food + drinks are delicious. Got the fried squid, penicillin and bee's balm which was all so good. Live jazz music sets the best ambiance too and is such a nice backdrop to this great new spot!

Stop by here for a few drinks before a show. Ambiance was very mellow. Bartender and staff were very engaging. Not a very extensive list of cocktails but it's more quality then quantity here. Overall, a nice spot to relax over a drink.

Great spot for a drink or dinner if you are heading to cultural events around Civic Center. The steak tartare is amazing...it has a slight Asian flair to it which will make your mouth very happy. The clam chowder was also great. The manti is housemade and filled with flavor. The cocktails are also very creative and good. A nice selection of whiskeys too. The pistachio/apricot cake was light and tasty to finish our meal. Great place for a drink and dessert after a show too. We'll be back!

this is a stylish venue to listen to various music played by students at the conservatory of music located in the same building on van ness. great view of the symphony and opera house across the street. i've been twice, once to hear a jazz trio and second a string group playing various classical and popular (beatles, ok?) numbers. they're really very good these kids. i sat at a hightop and at the bar, and prefer the bar because i didn't have much interest in the food. this last is on small plates and not (typical of "small plates") cost effective if you're really hungry, however the menu is definitely tasty. the crowd, such as it may be at various times, really thins after about 9 so move closer if you want to get immersed in the live sound of the music, which is really harder to come by. it's unfortunate but fact that the sound of live performance tends to lose a certain and important rawness the further away from the stage you are. at some point may as well listen to your cds. get reservations for arrival about 7, hang out for however long depending on how you like the sounds. ok have a plate of squid or something to keep the kitchen happy if you're really there for the music and drink. this is billed as a "lounge" after all. overall it's an under discovered bargain so go if nothing more than to be up on something new in town. just be sure to leave before whatever is going on across the street is finished for the night because as you likely know the traffic gets pretty jammy for awhile after such events. and for pete's sake be generous when you drop by the tip jar on your way out, these kids are good and need encouragement given that a music career is a tough way to make a living. given the door was free, you're ahead of the game from the getgo.

The flat bread is very special. And the ambience is fantastic. Great addition to the area.

I took my parent here on a Saturday evening. It's a great location and beautiful ambiance. Fantastic service, and great food and drinks. I would recommend the shrimp and chips, mushroom Flatbread, Salad with Manchego cheese and pine nuts and the shiseito peppers. Perfect place to head to before or after events at SF Jazz or Symphony. We will definitely be back!

Service was exceptional. The menu has variety and our "shares" were delicious. We ordered the beef tartare, buckwheat and ricotta cavatelli and shrimp and chips before attending a nearby event.

The food and service were terrific - worth 5 stars - but the room is full of hard surfaces which combined with the way-too-loud recorded music made it very hard to have a conversation with my tablemates.
