"The Armitage Avenue dining strip in Logan Square has lost a casual Italian option. Ugo’s Kitchen & Bar, an affordable restaurant owned by a chef with experience at Alinea and Sixteen, closed after service on Sunday at 2833 W. Armitage Avenue, Logan Squarist reports and owner Stephen Hasson confirms. Hasson also says that he sold the restaurant but hasn’t revealed to whom. The shutter was for “personal and financial reasons,” Logan Squarist reported, and Hasson could open another restaurant in the future. Ugo’s lasted nearly two-and-a-half years after opening in October 2015." - Daniel Gerzina

We have a lot of great options in Logan these days, but we had an experience for dinner here that we will definitely repeat. Took our 2 kids impromptu and everyone was super accommodating. Fantastic drinks, great food and super friendly staff. The owner/chef came out to greet us and was very down to earth and a really nice guy. All around good experience and I would highly recommend. The banana cream pie was delicious....

I've been here twice so far, and I've thoroughly enjoyed both visits. The gazpacho here is fantastic.I also love the olive appetizer. The atmosphere is interesting, and I like the fact that there are board games available to play. The server is nice and knowledgeable, as well.

Nice selection of small plates, and great salads. Try the Parmesan cracklin if you're there - it's a fun, unique flavor. All of the "fried" items were great, as well. They have good options if you're vegetarian (salads, apps, cheese plate). Service was friendly and prompt. Definitely a nice add to this corridor.

A wonderful place we discovered tonight, of the six dishes we had tonight plus two desserts, I can't choose a favorite one as good as the last. I love the way the parmesan crisps dissolved on my tongue and the house made fried fresh mozzarella stretched a mile. The miataki mushroom pizza cooked to perfection. A don't miss spot.

Ugo's is one of the hidden gems of Armitage Avenue. We found it accidentally as we were walking by, but once discovered it has become one of our favorite places to eat in the neighborhood. The pizzas are excellent, but the ice cream is spectacular.

The menu was both fresh and a little indulgent. The atmosphere was very chill, the service staff had us cracking up laughing, and to end our meal Chef Stephen even popped out of the kitchen to see how the meal was. We will be back very soon.

Ugo's Kitchen & Bar is an absolute must! Chef Stephen Hasson, who has mastered his craft at some of the best restaurants in Chicago, finally opened up his own spot. Chef Hasson serves perfectly baked pizzas, homemade pastas, a variety of fried items, and many more Italian small plate dishes. Chef Hasson has clearly put a lot of thought and effort into the menu, as well as the craft cocktail and wine/beer list. I have only visited once, but have reservations this month to return to see what Chef Hasson has added to his already wonderful repertoire.

Great atmosphere and amazing food! I've tried several of the pizzas and haven't been disappointed yet. Looking forward to working my way through the rest of the menu!
