"Located in the trendy Roma neighborhood, this corner spot features an interesting diner-meet-bistro look with loads of gleaming stainless steel along with an open kitchen fronted by a counter set with stools. Meanwhile, Chef Lucho Martinez's seafood-loving menu has it all, with a raw section to pastas and main dishes, but don't gloss over the daily specials, either. A blue corn tostada layered with seafood pâté and steamed shrimp is a nice opener, as is a bowl of thick and satisfying clam chowder. Tuck into a lobster roll or a softshell crab sandwich, if available, before enjoying every last lick of the vanilla soft serve with lemon peel." - Michelin Inspector

The 38 Best Restaurants in Mexico City | Eater

"Seafood is at the epicenter of Ultramarinos Demar, the most recent project of chef Lucho Martínez. It’s hard to pinpoint all the culinary influences at play on the menu; there’s zarandeado (the classic Mexican-style grilled fish), but also velvety clam chowder, perfectly moistened crab cakes, lobster rolls, caviar with chips, and seafood platters. The restaurant appears casual, with a relaxed, no-frills dining room and bar seating, but servers draw inspiration from classic European restaurants, delivering polished table service in crisp, white jackets. The cosmopolitan, indulgent experience is a good choice for lunch or an early dinner (the restaurant closes at 7 p.m.). Know before you go: While you wait for your table, grab a coffee across the street at sister project Café Tormenta." - Natalia de la Rosa

Exceptional experience. This is going to be on our list every single time we come to CDMX. Great service, attention to detail, and yes- the prices charged are worth it! The shrimp dish is a standout, as are any of the crudo options. We came here before walking to the Luchador match for an elevated dinner experience, and were welcomed without a reservation (but recommended to make one, because we just got lucky)

Beautifully plated, really good taste of the dishes we order, but I found it really expensive, I don't mind paying extra but I don't think the place merits it. I guess it has prices accordingly to what Roma has become with ex pats. They didn't have Lobster Roll (that with the conversation rate it would be a 30usd lobster roll)

Everything we had was delicious and super fresh. The tuna tostada is insane and a must order. They had run out of lobster so we got the crab roll which was full of flavour and the shrimp and fish tacos were also delicious. The soft serve is exceedingly good and the flan was fanatic. I can’t fault the food - everything we had was bursting with flavour. There was a mess up with our reservation via our hotel but they were very accommodating and managed to seat us. The mezcal house cocktail is also a must order. Very fresh and balanced. Goes really well with the seafood. Love this place !!!!

Ultramarinos is a cool, upscale spot that perfectly balances sophistication with a relaxed vibe. On our recent lunch, Pamela, Elliott, and I dove into their impressive seafood tower—featuring amazing oysters, clams, scallops, and a crisp crudo shrimp cocktail that set the tone for an unforgettable meal. We paired our seafood with a crisp Sancerre and Casa Dragons Blanco, and the carajillos were the ideal finish to our drinks. Elliott and Pamela shared a beautifully prepared whole fish, while I enjoyed the langoustines served with a refreshing side salad. For dessert, a unique chocolate cake drizzled with olive oil rounded out our experience with a delightful twist. We stayed nearly four hours, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere filled with wealthy locals and an overall great vibe. Ultramarinos delivers not just in flavor but in experience—a must-visit for a standout lunch in Mexico City.

Not sure why this has a 4.0 but the only downside here is the price, which is a bit high. The ambience, the food and the service are really great! It's a mostly-seafood only place where the seafood quality is fresh, high turnover so you know the live seafood won't sit there day after day. We sat at the bar and saw all the live action, very fun. We had the grilled shrimps (so good!!!!!!), fresh and the sauce was to die for. Tuna tostada and the clam aguachilles were excellent too. Would totally come back.

Soooo darn tasty! Best lobster roll of all time, legitimately. Perfectly toasted and buttered bread, tender, juicy lobster with the perfect amount of dressing. Doesn’t get any better than this. Also had tuna tostada, oysters, and the crab taco. All just as tasty but damn, nothing hits the spot like a delectable lobster roll. Will be coming back again. Must say, everything is expensive. Best seafood in CDMX, great fun little date spot if that’s what you’re after as well.

Very touristy, full of speaking-english people. Food is great, drins are great as well. The tostada de camaron was my favorite

Google
TLDR: A top spot for seafood (American/continental style) in Mexico City, offering bold, flavorful dishes that beautifully incorporate Mexican ingredients. Highly recommended! I was surprised by the low ratings here, as my experience was fantastic. This isn’t a traditional Mexican seafood spot—it’s a creative fusion of American/continental-style seafood with a touch of Mexican flair, and they pull it off brilliantly. Interestingly, most of the tables (all during my visit) were filled with locals. Contrary to some reviews, I didn’t find the flavors “gringo-fied” or lacking authenticity—it’s simply a unique approach that works beautifully. The scallops aguachile was exceptional—a fresh, flavorful twist on a classic. The seafood platter was the highlight: everything was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and ready to enjoy. The attention to detail stood out, especially with the crab and shrimp, where thoughtful touches like lemon zest and precision in preparation elevated the experience. While lobster wasn’t available, the crab roll was a satisfying alternative—generous portions and well-executed, though not as standout as the other dishes. Dessert was equally delightful; the soft serve was delicious, and I’m eager to try more from their dessert menu. The drinks were superb—both the margarita and the Mago cocktail were perfectly balanced and refreshing. Finally, the service from Miguel Ángel and Elias was flawless and added to the overall enjoyment of the meal. I can’t wait to return and explore more of the menu!
