"Caviar was flowing liberally at Outside Lands, but the lobster tail Korean corn dog from Um.Ma. nailed the perfect blend of decadence and delicious functionality: a lobster tail dipped in a mochi tempura batter mixed with kimchi and gojuchang, fried, painted with spicy kimchi mayo, methodically topped with osetra caviar, and sprinkled with chives; they only made ten per day, and I snagged the final one, the kind of over-the-top bite that felt like pure festival food dreams." - Paolo Bicchieri
"A Michelin Guide–recommended kitchen is serving caviar-topped lobster tail Korean corn dogs as a limited-edition item; 10 are available per day." - Paolo Bicchieri
"First, Raw isn’t for the squeamish. Second, pairing food with a film about a young woman who develops a taste for human flesh during her first year of veterinarian school is probably not smart. But I’m going to do it anyway (please kindly send grievances to sanfrancisco@theinfatuation.com). The body horror from French filmmaker Julia Ducournau is a refreshing take on the cannibal genre, and is both artful and beautifully shot. And the moments of biting/eating are tasteful (but, yeah, I have a damn strong stomach). Still, I recommend pairing this with a glass of water from your tap. And if you can stomach it, something, well, meaty - like the tender barbecued pork belly from Um.ma. Maybe consider enjoying it way before you sit down to watch." - lani conway
"Ask us to tell you everything we love about Um.ma, and we'd start with, "There's just not enough time in one day." Here's the truncated version: This Inner Sunset spot has excellent Korean BBQ and seafood pancakes, a lively atmosphere, and a picnic table-filled patio that's perfect for large groups. And, obviously, their amazing and plump chicken wings, which they offer slathered with citrus gochujang, ginger sesame soy (our favorite), or honey butter." - lani conway, julia chen 1, patrick wong
"The chicken wings from this Korean restaurant in the Sunset are on the shortlist of best SF chicken wings—they’re crunchy, pull-off-the-bone tender, and drenched in an incredible sticky ginger-sesame-soy glaze. They’re bringing their chicken skills to OSL in honey butter strip form, along with bulgogi mandu, and hotteok pancakes." - julia chen 1
