"A new bar is opening this Friday in River North in the same building (and from the same team) as The Underground. It’s called The Cocktail Club, and it’s an upscale, 1920s-inspired venue. For their opening weekend, they’re having Macy Grey perform. Doors open to the public at 10pm, there’s no cover charge, and you can check their Instagram for updates. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Beautiful ambience! Love the decor and lighting in this cocktail club. The live music was so good, I really enjoyed the show. The cocktails were just okay though. I feel because this venue specifically focuses on cocktails (no food menu), the flavors should be a lot more creative and the presentation should be very attractive, perhaps even using special cocktail glassware. The garnishes were very basic, if a garnish was even there at all. Nevertheless, I enjoyed myself. I recommend for having a visit at least once.

Very cool vibe and love the band behind the bar. They were awesome! Wait staff was very friendly but service was terribly slow. Several times served wrong orders. When the drinks arrived correctly, they were quite tasty.

Stopped by here for few drinks with my husband last night. We loved the atmosphere and music was really nice. Guy with blond hair( didn’t ask his name) at the door was very accommodating and nice. Service was also good. We will definitely come back again!

I can only speak to my own experience at this place and I hope everyone has a better experience here. The “security/bouncer” said if I gave him $40 would he would allow my friends and I to cut the lengthy line. He charged me and my friends $40, I gave him a $50 and he said he’d return with my change. Nevertheless, he “forgot” to give me my change. Soooo.. yes, I guess it’s my fault to allow this establishment to believe they can be honest. Please save your money and don’t let them steal your money. Aside from this, it is crowded inside and drinks are overpriced.

$40 for a cover is steep, but something I can accept if the bar itself is worth it. It’s open later than most, cool. It was a fine club. Good atmosphere and music. What I can’t accept is $47 for a watered down gin and tonic. I left immediately after hearing that price. Sadly, I had already ordered expecting it to be a reasonable price. I drank it and left with no fuss. Would not recommend unless you got money LITERALLY burning a hole in your pocket. Also, side note, not “20s” at all. Nothing like the speakeasies of old, as in the website’s description. It was all modern music and style. Very much a scam.

It was a fun place to go. It was a little loud for my liking but that is just personal preference. The drinks were also very expensive. I only got one. If you are looking for a cool place to go that has a club vibe this is your spot. I just enjoy a quieter bar.

Usually me and buddy come here after meetings and overall it’s a good experience if you can get pass the bouncer. Tonight was an exception and unfortunately we don’t really deal with people being rude, we usually spend lots of money here but I would recommend going to the tunnel to make your dollar worth it. Overall, nice place but there’s way better places around Chicago with nicer people. The tunnel is way better :)
