The Best Restaurants in Canary Wharf | Eater London

"A traditional Japanese resturant, Uochi is ideal for a quick, but satisfying, lunch or for friends and colleagues to wind down after work. The menu is as clean and simple as the decor, with neatly laid out sections for bento boxes, such as grilled mackerel and unagi, as well as sushi, robata items and a selection of cold and hot snacks like fried salmon, monkfish livers and mozuku seaweed." - Shekha Vyas

The Japanese food here is absolutely fresh and delicious! Every dish was beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and made with high-quality ingredients. The service was excellent — attentive, polite, and very professional. The restaurant is also very clean and well-organized, which made the whole dining experience even better. Totally worth it! I highly recommend everyone to come and try it. You won’t be disappointed.

Absolute gem 🍣 I’m Japanese and despite all the Asian community expanding in CW, it is difficult to find a decent Japanese place in the neighbourhood. This place on the other hand gives such an authentic izakaya vibe just like in Japan :) The lunch menu is amazing there. Every day there is a special menu with discounted price between £13-15. I went with sashimi lunch for £22 but the bill was literally the price without service charge 👏🏻 Also the lady who works there is very kind and attentive, served us free tea so many times and gave us detailed explanations. I overheard that the owner is a Chinese person and I appreciate that they research and dedicate to create such an authentic vibe. Thank you so much and I will come back soon!

Tucked away in the quiet Docklands, Uoichi is a true gem for anyone craving authentic Japanese flavors in London. I had the pleasure of trying a variety of dishes here, and every plate delivered both in taste and presentation. Monkfish Liver A rare find in London and done exceptionally well here. It had that perfect melt-in-the-mouth texture with just the right balance of umami. If you’re into adventurous Japanese cuisine, this is a must. Bara Chirashi Don🍱 Fresh, vibrant, and generous. The sashimi cubes were delicately seasoned and beautifully arranged over well-prepared sushi rice. Each bite offered a mix of textures and flavors. Easily one of the highlights of the meal. Deep Fried Chicken✨ Juicy, crisp, and well-marinated, it came out piping hot, and the batter was light but still crunchy. Great with a squeeze of lemon or dipped in mayo. Grilled Salmon🔥 Simple, clean, and expertly cooked. The skin was crisp, while the flesh remained moist and tender. It let the quality of the fish speak for itself. Salmon Roe with Cream Cheese🧀 An indulgent, creamy-salty bite that worked surprisingly well. The burst of the roe against the richness of the cream cheese created an interesting balance. A great fusion-style treat. Overall, Uoichi stands out not just for its quality but for the care put into every dish. Prices are fair for the quality, and the staff are polite and attentive. Highly recommended for Japanese food lovers looking for something beyond the usual fare. #UoichiLondon #JapaneseFoodLondon #DocklandsEats #BaraChirashi #MonkfishLiver #Ankimo #Karaage #LondonSushi #HiddenGemsLondon #AuthenticJapanese #FoodieLondon #SeafoodLovers #ChirashiDon #JapaneseCuisineUK #SushiLovers #JapaneseDining #Foodstagram #LondonEats #FoodieFinds #FineDiningLondon #JapaneseFusion #LondonRestaurants #TasteOfJapan #JapaneseFlavors #EatLondon #FoodReview #GourmetJapanese

I had an appointment in the area and was early, so i stopped here for some lunch, as it was close by. I had no expectations and when the food came, the appearance was very underwhelming, BUT, the taste was truly a shocking! Everything was well balanced and delicious. I couldnt believe how much flavour was packed in it. What a nice little find 😊

Tried Uoichi for the firs time today and we absolutely loved it! The staff were super positive and kind and the food was amazing! Probably the best Japanese restaurant we have tried in London.

Came after peak lunch time and had the sashimi and pork cutlet set lunch (with bowl of rice, miso soup and pickles). Both are authentic taste of Japan and the owner is very nice and serviced well. It's very relaxed by having a decent lunch then a walk at the canary wharf waterside on a sunny winter.

Unfortunately the front of house didn’t speak a word of Japanese and was concerned that we weren’t going to spend enough. Despite no option to book on their website and an empty restaurant, they claimed bookings were absolutely required. All a bit fishy.
