The Best Farmers Markets in Houston | Eater Houston

"Score peaches from Lightsey Farms, freshly baked bread from Cake and Bacon, strawberries from Wood Duck Farm, eggs from Three Sister Farms, and so much more from this robust farmers market, located off Buffalo Speedway Highway just outside River Oaks. From 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday, Urban Harvest hosts vendors that showcase the season’s bounty. There’s no need to shop on an empty stomach with on-site eateries like Dumpling Haus and Milo’s Kitchen dishing out plenty of ready-to-eat food. Check its website for locations and dates of its mobile market program, which visits Alief, East End, Gulfton, and Northside." - Brianna Griff

Unfortunately, this market has never recovered from the pandemic slowdown. Many of the former great vendors have absconded. The vendor that used to have great veggies has not yet shown up this year (2025). Most that are present are small operators, and less than a third are actually selling food. Unless you're close by, or unless you know of a specific vendor that offers what you want, it's not worth a long drive here. Only about 75% of the available stalls are generally occupied each Saturday -- again, most are small, some (for example) offering one, two, or at most three different items. The ready to eat food vendor stalls are again, finally, mostly populated every Saturday, but the variety that once existed prior to the pandemic has never returned. If you're in the area, maybe worth a visit to check it out. PLENTY of parking, but you'll have to walk from the three-level Church parking deck to the actual entrance, 200 feet or so. No big deal for most, but I'd advise that you bring a cart or little wagon if you're getting on up in years like myself. See pictures as of the date of this review update.

I enjoyed coming and walking around and there was a great variety of vendors, but I did feel some of the pricing was very high for the amount of produce you got. I didn’t need much this go around but was happy with what I got.

The food market offers a vibrant mix of fresh produce, local delicacies, and unique international flavors. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for food lovers and families alike. Love the dumplings, pastries and salsa from this market.

Today was a beautiful day. The sun was shining and the weather was nice. This was my first time going to a farmers market and we really enjoyed ourselves. El Topo's tacos were so good. My significant other enjoyed the bean & cheese taco, I ordered the Barbacoa taco, and it was delicious. I didn't get a chance to try the coffee, maybe next time. I love sweets so I stopped by "The Bakers Man" tent. That cake was soooo moist and soft and flavorful. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

Google
Great farmers market with so many wonderful vendors from all over the greater Houston area. There’s a little bit of everything from produce, pastries, and meat. All of the vendors are very friendly! As a caffeine addict, I’m a fan of the coffee vendors. There’s live music too. It’s open from 8am-12pm, and the foot traffic doesn’t seem too busy. There is free parking in a nearby garage, which is a major plus. Due to health department regulations, your dog can’t enter the market—just something to be aware of.

It was my first time going and it was really nice. I went to get samosas, but I left with a lot more. I loved the vibe and the quality of the vendors goods. I will return there soon.

Very cool and inspiring famers market in Houston! I learned about this through a Yelp Elite event invite and I was so shocked I didn’t already know about this. This farmer’s market is held every Saturday from 8am-noon. I visited for the first time yesterday and was impressed with how organized everything was especially with COVID-19 precautions in place (no mask, no entry of-course). Parking was well organized, and the lines moved smoothly and quickly. No trouble at all finding parking. The market itself is such an uplifting environment in an open space with so many different local vendors including cooked meals, produce, plants, fresh juice, ice cream, cheese, and so much more! I thought it was interesting and cool that they also partner with SNAP so everyone is welcome and provided with the opportunity to purchase locally farmed food! This is definitely a great place to come to stock up on clean groceries or just hang with friends or family. I really liked that each of the vendors I purchased from (The Baker’s Man & Local Fruits) had Samsung Pay. I look forward to coming back and absolutely recommend a visit.

Yelp
Great market. Crowds can be large or small--I tend to shy away from places that have large crowds, and sometimes it is just way too many people. I have only gone closer to closing time (Noon), but always find something from potted plants, locally sourced honey, miniature cakes, fresh fruit juices, and more. I have only been a few times, but this place is definitely on my rotation of markets to visit. One thing I wish they would do is have more seating as sometimes you just want to relax and enjoy the DJ, have something to eat or drink, and not just stand there.

Yelp
We went at 10 and there weren't too many vendors. I'm not sure if it's normal or not. There seemed to be a lot of empty spots around. Free parking in the short garage on the other side of the grassy area. I added some photos of it.

Yelp
A kind of an upscale Farmers market in the River Oaks area, love the place and the variety of stalls it holds. Its open every Sat. Carries a lot of organically grown fresh fruits and vegetables, home baked goods from breads, croissants to cakes, flowers, various types of coffee , Thai omelette , a cute bonsai store and one of my fav the Dumpling Haus. Mostly things that are perishable, or in other words used day-to-day basis. There is plenty of parking available. Definitely worth a try.

Yelp
From a Yelp event to regular Saturday morning farmers market shopping. Thanks to Houston CM Farrah for introducing us to this amazing Saturday farmers market at not one, not two, but three Yelp elite events. Love getting large farmers market boxes filled with seasonal produce from Adkinson Farm or Gundermann Acres Farm. Favorite veggie boxes are filled with red and yellow beets, cauliflower, zucchini, butternut squash, okra, onions, tomatoes and more. The corn is so delicious as are the juicy strawberries. Fun to see what is in the box each week. Check out the greens from Blackwood Educational Land Institute. They sell at the market, but also offer experiences to volunteer at their farm in Hempstead. The Houston Regional Market Growers always have something different. Have bought patio tomato plants, mint and basil that have flourished in my backyard garden. Great to pick up daikon radishes or a fig tree. They are always so helpful with gardening tips. From bean to bar, check out Xocolla Chocolates. The artisan chocolate bars are so delicious. Try their candied oranges and chocolate hazelnut spread as well. Try a taste of El Salvador at The Pupusa Bar. Chef Maria Garcia makes the most delicious papusas every week. Buy ready to eat or cook at home. The bean and cheese and spinach are so delicious. Served with a cabbage salad and red and green salsas, it is perfect for lunch or dinner. Grab a latte, fresh baked bread, local honey or a breakfast taco. Need duck eggs? Come early. Grab a bag of satsumas when they are in season. Make sure to bring a shopping cart or bag, cash and your appetite. Great place to visit on a Saturday morning. They are open rain or shine.

Yelp
Best, oldest and biggest farmer's market in town. Family-like atmosphere....friendly vendors, staff & customers. Excellent fresh organic produce, baked goods, prepared food, plants, trees, coffee, beverages, & services.
google avatar

Maria E.

Yelp
TIP: Come early. If you want eggs or popular items, come when they open (8am). We showed up at around 10am and there were no eggs to be found. Also, several vendors were sold out of their most popular items (best-selling pot pies, tamales, etc.). This market is located at St. John's School. There is free parking in a giant covered garage. The market itself isn't huge but the demand is. Lots of people. There is a nice variety of vendors although it's not the biggest farmer's market I've been to. Still, there is a lot of good stuff here. Great way to start a Saturday morning (market hours: 8am-12pm).

Yelp
My first time at the Urban Harvest Farmers Market thanks to Yelp. I checked in at the booth and received my coupons for the taco truck and coffee booth. I recognize I arrived late because both lines especially the taco truck line was wrapped around the market. I couldn't wait on the taco truck line. I got iced coffee and then proceeded to walk around. One of the booths I stumbled on was 'local fruits.' I spoke to the lady at the stand who was very pleasant and patient. She explained each flavor to me and I opted for the sweet basil which had strawberries in it since it was a customer favorite. I absolutely love natural juices with no sugar added. The burst of flavor this juice had was simply amazing. I am excited to try all the other flavors they had. I plan on returning to the farmers market but this time somewhat earlier to minimize the long wait times.

Yelp
A lovely farmers market every Saturday with an extensive free parking garage. While expensive, the quality of what they serve is great and I love coming here with family and friends. Very conveniently located in the heart of River Oaks. They also have good food and drinks, with a coffee stand and fresh baked goods.

Yelp
I've lived in the area for 5 years and it took a yelp event to finally get me out early on a Saturday morning to check out the farmers market. Well, since that one Saturday morning, I've invited a couple friends out and we've woken up early to buy locally sourced items and have probably spent over $50 on pastries and bread and juices alone. Every table that you walk by, you're tempted to just take out your card and just give money them your money. Ever seen that meme of Fry from Futurama screaming "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!" Well, if you have then, YOU KNOW. You just want to buy loaves and loaves of bread that have no counter space for. But you just want you try it out and say that you did. There's plenty of parking in the garage! Plenty! I'm a huge sucker for picnics and Levy Park is just down the street. A perfect Saturday - fresh food the farmers market, people watching and a picnic to enjoy. It's a fantastic feeling knowing that you're out early on a Saturday morning supporting local vendors.

Yelp
I make it a point to go here every Saturday!! I go for the produce, baked goods, meat, breakfast tacos, margarita mix, and so much more! The live music creates the best ambiance. The vendors are so sweet I love chatting with them! If you're in Houston for the weekend or live in the area you must stop by.

Yelp
First time @ the Urban Harvest Farmers Market. This is such a great place to go on a Saturday morning. This event happens every Saturday from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. Weather was ideal for a nice walk by the market at purchase great home grown veggies, meats, sweets, and great eggs! Good place to get out of the routine and start your day nicely. Did not know about this event until getting the invite from Yelp-Houston. I was able meet Farrah. She is such a nice person and a great leader within the Yelp community. Thank you Farrah and very nice to meet you! Wish you a continuing succsess.

Yelp
I got off work early one weekend and decided to stop by this Farmer's Market to see what they had to offer. It was such a fun and low key way to spend a couple hours! It's not a super huge market, but they do have a decent amount of booths and variety of options for you to peruse. There's also some good food stalls if you're interested in grabbing lunch. I tried the pupusas from The Pupusa Bar and they were pretty tasty! There's a grassy area outside the parking garage if you want to have a picnic too.
google avatar

Farrah A.

Yelp
Hey, friends. Urban Harvest is still open, as they are considered an outdoor grocery store/market. They've taken extra precautions to spread out all of the vendors, don't allow shoppers to touch or handle any produce, no more tastings or samples, and all pre-made meals are packaged to go. They also incorporated online shopping and an easy drive-thru pickup system. You don't even need to get out of your car. Check out their website to shop online and arrange your pickup. Thanks for continuing to feed the community, Urban Harvest. Rain or shine.

Yelp
It was my first time at the Farmers Market and had such a great time! The produce is fresh, the food stall are great! The taco truck is called El Topo and is amazing! It has vegan as well as vegetarian options! There's a dumpling stall called Dumpling Haus and has some great food options!

Yelp
Fantastic Day at the farmer's market. Lots of vendors on a gorgeous Houston morning. A great selection and the vendors could not be more hospitable.
google avatar

Yelp
Picked up some good pimento cheese and avocado salsa. Lots of bakery items, farm fresh veggies, eggs, meats, food booths. Dog rescues and a dog kissing booth! Park in the garage in the back of mkt.

Yelp
Lots of vendors. Great variety. Good parking opportunities. Usual farmers market markup.

Yelp
I went to this farmers' market about 5 years ago. I think it was in a different location and way smaller. Now it is in a bigger lot with a parking garage next to it! The vendors are all really friendly and I love that these small mom and pops are hustling to share their food and products with the Houston area. I recommend stopping by: -The Bakers Man- little cakes! Lots of flavors and super nice guy! - Grizzaffi Coffee- omg the pumpkin latte is amazing and they made a caramel macchiato for my husband and he really really liked it. - Zierau Fine Foods- go get a breakfast taco from this guy! Kind of messy to eat but very big and tasty. -Cake and Bacon- My daughter really wanted "bread" so we found this place and bought a cherry cheese danish! We both enjoyed eating it while walking around the market. Their bread selection looked amazing too! Most places take card now, which is a big plus for me. Some even take Apple Pay and other things. Only one vendor I visited only took cash and it was a produce stand. Bring a little cash just in case or stop by the atm machine if you forget. If it wasn't raining or the pandemic I would have stayed longer. I'll go back sometime soon. Now that parking is easy, not much stopping me besides the early morning hours!

Yelp
Vendors from all over greater Houston show up here. You get it all, fresh vegetables. Fresh organic meats, honey.. to top it all they have coffee shops, food trucks and some of the local restaurants setting up stations. My favorite is the dumpling haus station where they serve some amazing dumplings and noodles.
google avatar

Tim C.

Yelp
This is the biggest farmers market we've been to in Htown so far. Most have a coffee bean seller, we found at least three today. Grizzaffi coffee which was selling Cruiser coffee roasters....I bought a bag of their Mexico Chiapas San Fernando dark roast......amazing taste. I didn't get any from Java Pura Coffee Roasters 'cause we hit them up a few days ago and the other bean roaster was Little Dreamer Coffee. Yes, I do love me some coffee. My wife got some scallions and few other odds and ends from the vegetable kingdom. Saw a booth selling Feges BBQ, I've been wanting to try them.....maybe the next time.
google avatar

Yanela G.

Yelp
If you're like me, you love a good farmers market. This is definitely one of them! Every Saturday, from 8-12 you can get outdoors, get some steps in and peruse all of little shops and small businesses that come out to represent. From fresh produce to specialty coffees you get a little bit of everything here.
google avatar

Bethanne A.

Yelp
What wonderful and delicious treat. First time was Yelp event, but I hadn't been wanting to go for a while. I have been 3 or 4 times and it's a drive for me. Fresh produce is fresh, the coffee and bakery next to a super delicious. The meat is an item and few of us want to share, but many to chose from. Flowers are lovely and fresh. Just spending time here I so enjoyable...I forget about the drive..It is pricey, it you definitely get what to paid for.
google avatar

Yelp
This market has everything. It's very Spacious and also has live music. I've been going to this market for about two years it has changed locations to adapt to the volume that it has grown too. The local honey the local produce And lastly so my favorite Saturday morning Thai omelette are the biggest highlights for me. Don't get me wrong they are all great but these are just my special places to go to. Everyone is definitely wearing their mask and respectful to each other. Your dogs are so welcome and they even have books for treats to buy. If you're a person that in this time lost her job and is receiving SNAP, there is no shaming. They have a booth where you can run your card and they give you double up to $40. If you wanna buy $40 worth you get 40 to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables and 40 to spend on other things like meat and other non hot food products. So that means you'll be receiving more bang for your buck and be able to support your local vendors which only does more for our community. And you do not have to finish using them in that trip they work at a later time So everyone is welcome go give it a try.
google avatar

Marcelo S.

Yelp
This is a great farmers market filled with many food and vegetable vendors. I went with someone who loves to shop locally and eat organic so it was a natural progression to shop here. If you are looking for gluten free bread or fragrant fruits try this market. You might even find some specialty micro greens .

Yelp
I first checked out Urban Harvest Farmers Market during a Yelp Elite Perk and I was long overdue. The lady I manage at work has been singing the praises of this farmers market for quite some time so I'm happy I finally took the plunge. I've been twice now. You can check out this farmers market every Saturday from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. Parking is free in the adjacent parking structure. I feel like everyone, finances allowing, should incorporate more farmers markets into the mix. Sure, it's going to be more expensive than your local grocery store but you're paying for quality, locally grown food which is a plus. And this is a large farmers market so there's plenty for you to check out. They have everything you need: fruit and produce, meat, seafood, snacks, bread, eggs, dessert, sides, plants, and more. It's easy to spend more than you're planning to because there are so many cool things to choose from. You'll even see some popular spots pop up with tents like Feges BBQ and Juice Girl. If you're hungry, there are three main options to eat there: tacos from El Topo food truck, papusas, and dumplings. To give you a taste of my most recent haul, here's what I went with: wild boar ground meat, two types of honey from two vendors, skirt steak, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, braised chicken and ricotta ravioli, boar ham steak, and artisan cheese. Urban Harvest Farmers Market is the best farmers market I've ever been to. I'm committed to checking it out once a month or every six weeks!

Yelp
The impetus for a visit to this farmers market early Saturday am was to eat El Topo's tacos again. I still had a craving for their made from scratch tacos at the YEE at Control studios. Parking was plentiful in the covered garage next to this market. People, young and old, flocked to try all kinds of local foods and drinks here. They can even purchase local produce and meats here. I did see a stall selling wagyu steaks, which was surprising. In addition, there's live entertainment as people roamed around the market. Nice. As for me, I got my taco fix at the El Topo food truck and washed it down with some La Pura Coffee. La Pura's Costa Rican roast was full bodied and aromatic. Although, they only had half and half, but no sugar to go with their coffee, it was still delicious. I ended up buying a bag of their coffee beans to take home with me. Overall, the Farmers Market was a nice experience. It's great to support local businesses, especially if they sell good quality products.
google avatar

Maria S.

Yelp
Nice market with free parking in a garage behind. I was going to buy a pupusa but it's $5. I believe it's a bit expensive. But then again, I don't know how much rent she's paying for her space there. But then again, established pupusa businesses pay rent too and I haven't seen a pupusa reach $3. I didn't stay long but saw fresh vegetables and fruits including okra, sweet potatoes and persimmons.

Yelp
One of my yelp buddies told me about this place and so I came here with a few friends on a rainy Saturday morning. Despite the weather, the market was still in full swing as there were folks everywhere. This is a great market to get fresh, local produce and home goods. They have food trucks at the market and some vendors selling freshly cooked meals. There were also vendors selling things like wine, flavored olive oil, fresh fruit/veg, plants n pottery, smoked meats, fish, coffee, tea, breads etc. In other words, you can find pretty much every thing available here. Parking can be challenging. As the lot is very small, one has to come early to find parking, otherwise choices are limited. There were also local bands playing some music with table and chairs nearby. One can grab food and coffee and enjoy listening to music. All the vendors were very welcoming, friendly and easy going. A lot of them were giving out free samples. I had quite a bit of bread samples and horchata and other meats. I shall return here another day.
google avatar

Yelp
One of neatest farmers market I've been to in Houston! There's a great diversity of food and product stands. Lots of fresh, locally sourced organic vegetables. There's a stand that just sells mushrooms (Lone Star Mushrooms)! My favorite was the bee booth where they have real honeybees perched on their honeycombs. You'll also find fresh pressed juice, dumplings, baked goods such as bread and macarons, and even get yourself a nice cut of wagyu beef. Go check it out and get a slice of local Houston. Support small and local businesses!

Yelp
A great way to start off your weekend at the farmers market. They open early from 8am-12pm every Saturday. Get here early for good parking. There is a parking lot near a building, a short walking distance to the farmers market. I like that this farmers market is chill and small. There is live music with a few tables. You can grab some food as you shop and enjoy the music. There are a variety of vendors here from fresh produce, fruits, meat, coffee, sweets, plants, to beverages such as organic juices and wines. Most let you sample the products before buying. There are also food trucks around and a pottery making on the spot for a good charity. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. I enjoy the casual and easy-going vibe here. Overall, an easy and fun activity for the weekend especially if you love fresh produce and organic products. Most vendors do accept cards.

Yelp
Easy parking situation with the parking garage. Currently four-legged friend admission is on "paws" As for vendors-- wide variety from produce to prepared foods as well as health products, pet food, flowers as well as a knife sharpener. Pictured: Bread Man Co. Bakery (Everything Cretzel), Artisana Bakery-- haven't tried a single thing I didn't like, and she rotates through lots of different breads and pastries, from 'proper British scones' to a dark chocolate/candied orange peel filled brioche bun I tried today. Also got a veggie pie from Relished West African foods-- haha she was incredulous we could handle her spicy sauce, but it was good! Altough the pie was certainly well-seasoned enough to go without it :)

Yelp
I had such a good time at the market!! It's not huge and overwhelming. It's stocked with fresh local products and produce. All vendors were knowledgeable and kind. I'll be adding it to my routine because fresh is best!!

Yelp
Visited the Urban Harvest Farmers Market this morning for the first time... I happened to drive by and noticed a lot of people walking around there... Boy I was so glad I did... what a pleasant surprise I found there. I was just going to walk around and see what was there, ended up "supporting the local business" big time lol. I bought the freshest local grown vegetables, beautiful tomatoes, yellow squash and zucchini, ate flavorful danish with my coffee... I wish my stomach could be bottomless because there were so many more things I wanted to try! I saw families with young ones enjoy cold treats, so many to choose from... now you know where to find me Saturday morning 8am... Tips: no problem parking, I parked in the parking deck on-site Strongly suggest you bring grocery tote, although some business give you plastic bags... On a sunny day, don't forget your big hat Some business accept credit cards but not all Will so bring some cash...

Yelp
This market has changed my life. No joke. I used to quietly resent living in Houston since it's the only place I have ever called home. Since finding this farmers market in 2018, however, my love of Houston is reinvigorated and I am no lost so restless to leave. There is a lot of soul in this market and I recommend that everyone add it to their routines on the weekend. I'm a convert. For some foods, I don't think buying so fresh matters. For others, it is the most important factor in getting food to taste amazing. However, buying fresh matters so much for supporting small and local businesses.

Yelp
I've been to this Farmers Market a few times since I heard about it through one of many Yelp Elite events. I had no idea this Farmers Market existed. It's one of the biggest ones I've been to and they always have something to buy! I'm always there for fresh duck eggs and a lot of other people are there for that too! The line is always super long for that vendor. One tip I can give y'all is bring cash! Especially if you're there to get produce. They don't accept cards. Definitely check this Farmers Market out if you're in the area. There's plenty of parking so you don't have to worry about not finding a parking spot.

Yelp
This market is AWESOME! There are a large number of booths, there is definitely something for everyone. They had a live musician, tables, and hot food stands and trucks as well. We tried a taco from the food truck, pan fried dumplings from a booth, bought a baguette and a chocolate croissant from the bread man, and some beets. The flowers were so beautiful, but since we are from out of town, we did not get any. I recommend going with enough time to wander around and see everything, and with an appetite so you can get some food at the market. I can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Jaime Y.

Yelp
I LOVE this market. This market has a wide array of vendors ranging from seafood and fresh bread to wine and flowers. With several options to choose from, I always find what I'm looking for. I enjoy walking around and seeing all of the amazing vendors. They always have live music and a number of food trucks. Parking is convenient in the garage and an atm is available. Dogs aren't currently allowed at the market for health concerns.

Yelp
We did this farmers market last year, pre covid, and it was spectacular to see all the local vendors and their offerings. I am thrilled to see its part of the local challenge and I will definitely make it a point to visit again... as soon as it warms up a bit. We did enjoy the samples and tastings that were offered prior to the pandemic, and i would bet thats a big reason why there is such a decline to events like this currently. People, or maybe just myself, are more inclined to pay a premium price for a locally made item once i have the chance to chat with the vendor and sample the goods. I hope Covid doesnt ruin that great experience... will check it out again at some point.

Yelp
This market always feels like coming home. It is a very full space- and there are so many amazing vendors! My biggest problem is this: I show up with an intention to only buy a few items and come away with an exponential explosion of eternally edible foods... would that I had more self-control? No. God food and supporting good providers of good food is worth it! Come, park, purchase and enjoy!

Yelp
This farmers market draws the highest volume of people compared to other farmers market in Houston (I think). Therefore it is best to arrive between the hours of 8 and 9 to get the best selections. Beware that NOT all vendors that come here are equally trustworthy. Some claim to be sustainable, but are not. Some claim to be organic and are not. The best you can do is to ask in-depth questions and do your own research, otherwise you will be fooled like I was. I have been coming here for at least 5 years. I hate deceptive businesses with a passion. It isn't fair to them or anyone. This is the biggest downside to Urban Harvest! So watch out, analyze, and ask questions. If you would like to know the vendors I personally like and have visited (in person), feel free to send me a message. I keep coming back here because the majority of the local vendors I patronize come here. 50%-60% of my groceries is done here. I also enjoy having conversations with some of these merchants because I learn so much. They have such a wealth of knowledge in what they do and it's nice to pick up something new that I never knew before; or try a vegetable never sold at the grocery store. There are things you will NEVER learn about agriculture or nutrition or food by dining at a franchise restaurant or shopping at your favorite grocery store. Not even from Whole Foods. Other things to note: - Live music almost every Saturday - Most vendors take cash only. A few take cards. - A lot of times there is a chef making a free snack bite using the products sold at the market that day. - You can find raw honey, prepared foods, beef, poultry, food trucks, soap products, coffee, handcrafted bread, cheese, plants to grow, and a bunch of other stuff - If you find the prices to be double or close to triple what you buy from the grocery store, it is priced that way for many reasons; particularly if it is from a merchant who strives to produce food in a way that makes sense for humans and the environment. The US isn't a cheap place to do business. Again, it's good to ask questions and do research! - Not all vendors are there every Saturday - I cannot emphasize this enough: Get to know the farmer you are buying from! - Parking can get hectic So go check them out!

Yelp
Went here after breakfast and totally kicked myself in the foot! The food here looked and smelled amazing! Bring your shopping totes, cash, hand sanitizer, and comfortable shoes! Some of the grocery vendors only take cash like the one I went to and barely had bags. They serve fresh juice, steak to buy, tamales, and duck eggs. For a dozen of duck eggs it was $12 which is considered for sale, the owner is very friendly and has a chicken farm as well. Highly recommend going here early and listening to the band while having breakfast. They also have an adoption center! Best part of my day was holding her!!!

Yelp
Great place for inner loopers to get a taste of the freshness outside of Harris county. Finally, they moved to a space with much more parking, including a garage. Lots of vendors (for Houston standards) and fresh veggies, fruits and meats, amongst other goodies! Love Oddball Eats, their breakfast plates are amazing! Live music a lot of the time and beautiful flowers! Come earlier (both due to heat most of the year and to beat the crowds!)!

Yelp
Urban Harvest Farmers Market is on the smaller end of farmers markets (It's no Eastern Market in Washington D.C., which is my absolute favorite farmers market!), but still surprisingly delightful! My husband and I visited on a Saturday morning around 10am and it was pretty busy! Luckily we were able to find parking on Eastside Street! Urban Harvest Farmers Market has quite a few straight-from-the-Texas-farm produce, as well as a few vendors that sell fresh eggs, preserves, baked goods, handmade soaps etc. My favorite stand is called Nisha's Flavors of India. They have the best Paratha Dip and Sun Dried Tomato Hummus. I love that you can shop, but also get small bites to eat! My husband and I shared a delicious kobe chorizo breakfast taco from a random stand for only $4. There are also a few food trucks that also sell food and drinks. Some of the vendors take card, and others only take cash so be prepared and have both on hand! It's definitely a good idea to bring a reusable grocery bag for all the things you buy and and don't forget to wear a hat, as it can get REALLY hot! Highly recommend visiting, and if you can, come early! So much fun!

Yelp
From the fresh kombucha to the raw milk cheese, I enjoyed every minute of my visit to the Urban Harvest Farmers Market. The only thing it was missing was a prettier, shaded setting. I will note that they offer a small shaded area for tables but overall it's a concrete jungle. We filled our bags with vegetarian eats (food truck whose name I am forgetting), Texas wine and kombucha. I would have purchased much more had it not been for carry-on luggage restrictions Parking is easy to come by and located on side streets surrounding the lot.

Yelp
Great area - lots of green and free parking. Standouts were many, but didn't have time/$ ;) Short list - young guy selling excellent curry and other pot pies. So good; particularly the apple turnovers with huge apple chunks nicely but not heavily spiced. Right now tomatoes and blueberries are awesome, as are other vegetables (though was not pleased some vendors posted previous days picking and were still selling previous week's picking, but that's good salesmanship :) Note that prices are probably up....it's not them being greedy; you need to factor in astoundingly high gas prices!
