"Vaanga calls itself a “crazy Indian place” and claims to make the only samosa burger in America. That’s a lot of talk for a place that pretty much only exists for the purpose of serving downtown lunches (it’s small, closes at 9pm, and doesn’t deliver). But regardless of how crazy it may or may not be, it is pretty good. Don’t bother with the samosa burger, which is merely a flat, dry samosa wedged in between two pretty plain patties, but the chaats are very good (try the dahi poori) and the curries get the job done. If you work Downtown, add it to your lunch rotation." - Dan Secatore

"Vaanga, from the team behind the chain Godavari, describes itself as a 'crazy Indian joint' and serves dishes such as dosa, a samosa burger, paneer bowls with rice and masala french fries, 'desi tacos' served on folded naan, and 'baerittos.'" - Dana Hatic

I had the Aloo Tikki Burger with Idli fries. The burger was tasty but the idli fries were not what I was expecting. My suggestion would be to keep the fries on a softer side. I had my order for to go, they do provide ketchup but no silverware so make sure to ask for it along with napkins.

I ordered Chicken Tikka Massala and it was the best Indian food I've ever had. The atmosphere is a bit grudge. Kind of looks like a warehouse with seats not arranged well to suit diners. I did like their large bureau in the back. Cool!

It was a last min plan to go to Vaanga and I am glad we did. We were so hungry and craving for some Indian food and this place has wide variety of items. We ordered samosa burger, paneer Kathi roll and egg paratha. I loved the paratha and my husband loved paneer roll. Samosa burger was good. Loved the samosa taste though it’s fresh. Fried were a must try, bundled with flavor. Would definitely recommend this place.

I recently had lunch at Vaanga and overall, it was a delightful experience. The highlight of my meal was the Superstar Dosai. It was absolutely delicious and exceeded my expectations. The Dahi Poori also had great taste; however, the dahi was too cold for my liking. If it had been served at room temperature, it would have been perfect. The Madras Sambar Idly was spot on, with the idly and sambar offering an authentic taste reminiscent of local Indian flavours. The ambience of the restaurant was charming, with an interior design that beautifully reflects Indian style and culture. It added to the overall dining experience and made me feel like I was back in India. However, there was one significant downside to my visit: the lack of a restroom for customers. This was particularly inconvenient, and I believe they should at least allow females to use the restroom. This small change would greatly improve the dining experience for many customers.

Super Star Dosa !! wow … first when you are not in a mood to eat Indian and second from your past experience - dosa in US cannot compare to taste in India - Vaanga will prove you to be wrong. This is one of those times when you loose but end up winning … great taste of dosa, the potato subji is just amazing. mirchi bomb or mirchi bhaji was not to my taste …. it is a small self service joint, service is on the slower side but staff is friendly.

Visited this cute little Indian restaurant in Boston. Amazed by the service and the quality and the taste. Do give it a try if you are in and around the town. Must try: Angry chicken Noodles and Pav Bhaji.

Amazing food. One of the best chicken burgers I’ve eaten in US. Samosa chaat was really good too. Great authentic food.

Been here a couple of times and a friend swears by their chicken biryani. Given that it is located in Boston Downtown prices are very reasonable, which is also why it is very popular. Tried a bunch of things on the menu, you can’t go wrong with anything. Food is very flavourful. Pav Bhaji, Schezwan Noodles, Dosa, Egg Wrap, Kadhai Paneer - all are great. They play the most nostalgic bollywood music and also have ice creams like Cassata and Kulfi. Sit inside the cafe and forget that you’re in Boston.
