In a Victorian house near Five Points, this owner-operated spot pours boutique wines with friendly, guided service. Local roundups praise its relaxed garden, accessible pricing, and snacks like crab cakes and whipped feta that pair easily with a bottle.

Amazing, a (little) pricey but the scallops were the best I’ve had. The vibe is so cozy and service was friendly and attentive. Good wine selection and food was so fast - didn’t eat a single thing I didn’t love. (Scallops, crab cake, feta eggs, chocolate cake seasonal dessert, steak, brie, etc)

Google
This is a amazing hidden gem in East Nashville. Nice selection of wines and drinks. Great, healthier food selection at a good price. I'm not a Brussels Sprouts kind of person, but those were good. I had the steak and that was fantastic.

We have absolutely fallen in love with Van Gogh’s Wine Bar. The owner is such a fun, kind man who cares a lot about our East Nashville community. All of the servers are also very caring, personable, and attentive. I love the outdoor patio and can’t wait to spend fall days out there. Their wine selection is good and affordable, and the food is unreal!! I cannot get over the prices for such amazing food. We have loved the Brussels, cheese plate, bruschetta, heirloom tomato salad, and caprese. We also are so obsessed with the crab cakes, and as someone from the coast- I’m picky about the quality of my crab cakes- and these pass the test with flying colors! I love this place, and I know you will too!

Reserved Van Gogh’s recently for a private event and had a wonderful experience. Great service and a beautiful space. The building is even more lovely in the daylight! Many thanks to Kevin and his team.

My boyfriend and friends came in here and had the best freeking time! We sat at the bar and Justin and Holly were our bartenders and were nothing short of amazing. So knowledgeable and honest about the menu. The food has been fantastic! The chef goes above and beyond and you can tell the staff here really cares about their product. 10/10 will be back.

Google
I love Van Gogh’s!!! The name caught my interest. It’s such a cozy spot. The fireplace was going when we visited and it really set the mood. Prints of Van Goghs work are hanging on the wall. It’s so fun. The bartender was super friendly. We ordered the crab cake and the grilled cheese with truffle fries. So delicious. We also had cocktails. The menu was very reasonably priced and the portions were a great size. Can’t wait to go back next time I’m in town. 10/10 recommend.

Our small group met here for dinner and drinks last evening and, as usual, it was wonderful. Between Kevin, the chef/owner, Zach and Heather, we enjoyed wonderful meals, and personal, friendly, service. We ordered a large variety of dishes and each was well-prepared, tasty, and plentiful. This is truly a gem!

Google
Try the fried Brussels sprouts and some cheese - the burrata, caprese salad, and whipped ricotta are all great. Varied wine selection as well as rotating special cocktails that are written up on the chalkboard. The wine garden out back is super nice in good weather too.

Yelp
Cute spot with patio seating! Perfect for lowkey outdoor drinks. The prices are reasonable and workers are nice.

Yelp
Cute little place to sip some wine and try some small plates. We tried the Brussel sprouts (half serving was more than enough!) and the caprese. I thought both were ok, nothing super memorable, but tasty nonetheless. Maybe it was just my taste, but the sprouts were a little too charred for me. Found free street parking not too far from the restaurant. Our waitress gave us good wine recs which I appreciated! I liked all the Van Gogh artwork, especially the paper mache ear!

Yelp
Easily one of the best spots I've been to in East Nashville. Such a warm weather vibe place as well with the picnic tables and plentiful outdoor seating. We got the whipped feta, steak, scallops, and Brussels. You order at the bar and then get a number and take a seat. The staff were all super nice and smiley which is always the best after a long week! I look forward to coming back and enjoying more menu items.

Yelp
Absolutely obsessed with this place, cannot get enough. They are AMAZING! Service NEVER disappoints, food is superb and the atmosphere is perfect

Yelp
It's one of those out of the way spots tucked away in East Nashville. Van Gogh's is a hit. The drink menu is large and the menu is small but don't let that fool you. From the Whipped Feta(a must have), Crispy Brussels, and possible the best steak I've had in a while. The service is quick and the outside patio has a really cool vibe. Van Gogh's is a must for anyone looking for a great meal with a relaxed atmosphere.

Yelp
This place is a gem!! Beautiful historical house with large patio area. The food was phenomenal!!!! The service and prices were good as well.

Yelp
was such an amazing experience, friendly service and genuinely the best scallops i've had. all of the food came out so fast despite servers saying it might be a minute (a lot of people walked in at the same time). highly recommend, will try to visit again as an out of state person!

Yelp
Van Gogh's has one of the best patio's in town, but if outside isn't what you are seeking the inside is spacious as well! Everyone that works there has always been exceptionally friendly! The prices are great, it's rarely too crowded, they have a great wine list but also speciality drinks! On the patio there is ample seating, they had bug spray, and citronella candles avaibile for guest to use. This place is very laid back and the perfect spot to meet up with friends. In the past I have also tried the cheese board and was impressed with the variety! Overall, it's such a great local gem!

Yelp
Cozy little neighborhood wine bar with some great eats. I love the brussel sprouts and cheese platter. Perfect place to yap outside with your friends!

Yelp
Amazing little spot in East Nashville! The whipped feta is the best! Staff is always super friendly and great with recommendations

Yelp
Excellent little spot in East Nashville! I love coming for a quick bite with friends, or for drinks before a later dinner reservation. The whipped ricotta is heavenly and my favorite dish on the menu. Service is always great, and I love the homey feel. Can't wait to spend more time here this summer!

Yelp
Had the Seared Scallops, they were amazing! Chef Kevin even delivered our appetizer to us and visited with us ! The pricing was reasonable and definitely 5 stars, looking forward to coming back on my next visit! The location was great and the vibe inside of the restaurant was very relaxing!

Yelp
Great spot. Really nice bartender and lots of outdoor space to sprawl out. I got some asparagus as a snack and it was a good portion.

Yelp
Van Gogh is still kicking! It's hard not to like anything that goes into this space. Van Gogh managed to make it its own while still keeping the charm. It's a wonderful place for happy hour or a beautiful night on the porch or in the back yard. Thanks VG for serving East Nash your wonderful wine and seasonal foods!
google avatar

Yelp
Cute wine bar in East Nashville! It looks like it took over an old house but close to a few other shops right off Main St. plenty of street parking in front or around the side. They fully embrace the Van Gogh theme with plenty of replica art and a paper machete ear right when you walk in. Plenty of wines on the menu as well as beer and cocktails. Cute space to kickback and relax with friends and a drink. They should look to add sampling wine flights as an option in the future.

Kate J.

Yelp
Always good atmosphere and good food. People are super friendly and it's a great place to get away from tourists without leaving Nashville

Annie M.

Yelp
Great experience! The staff is extremely warm and welcoming, the outdoor area is cozy, and the cocktails/wine were perfect. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I love this new neighborhood establishment. It has a lot of character, a massive back patio, and it is located in a cute old house turned into a restaurant. The house was previously a restaurant prior to them moving in, but it has been maximized in the best way possible. My hair stylist, Emaline, is a bartender here. She works at BBC Salon in the day and here by night. She is a great bartender and is able to multitask really well. I had no idea she was such a great bartender. Girl has an art with hair and drinks. That was apparent while maintaining the bar, but also serving up drinks for the waiter who was focused on the patio patrons. We saw Kevin, the owner, come out a couple of times as well. He was manning the kitchen. Kevin is one who has a lot of accolades behind him. He has been on the Travel Channel, Food Network, has a couple of cook books out, and is a well renowned chef. Granted, I did not know any of this prior to meeting him tonight. I feel like I should have being that he is a kind of a big deal in the food world. He was nice. What I think you will like about this place: - No price gauging. What you see is what you get. All glasses will range from $6 to $15 a glass. House wines taste good! Cocktails are $10-13. - Knowledgable staff. Everyone knows what they are doing here plus they offer warm hospitable personalities. - They have a good variety on the food menu. Now, as of this review, they have been open for six days. Things are working out well thus far, but tweaking is bound to happen as they learn the ins and outs of what does and does not work. I tried the truffle fries and enjoyed them. I will need to come here for a proper dinner. They have some decent offerings and the patrons next to me were enjoying their meals. - Easy to park. Park on the side street or on the front of the building. No qualms about finding anything, but a Thursday night out is different than a weekend. Use your best judgment. - Your neighborhood bar. This place is not trying to be something its not. They are focused on the neighborhood feel more than trying to be some hip place that draw in the tourists. Though tourists might find their way here and are welcomed, the focus is on the neighborhood it is surrounded by. East Nashville. In conclusion, I really hope to see this place thrive. I think they have something to offer and I look forward to see them grow into their own.

Yelp
We do our monthly book club here and it is the perfect atmosphere for a book club. The staff is friendly, the drinks are good, and the food is delicious. Highly recommend any of their cheese plates and their bourbon based cocktails!

Yelp
Can't believe I just discovered this place. We parked and were walking by when I heard some live jazz with a great vocalist. We walked over to investigate and it was in the courtyard of Van Gogh on a Friday night. Courtyard was full but we staked out a spot on the adorable wrap around porch and could still hear the music. I could tell they were understaffed but staff were still super friendly and welcoming. We ordered drinks (um hello finally somewhere with drinks that aren't $16) and had the beet salad, whipped feta, and Parmesan fries. I had wine and a cocktail, both delicious. If I went back, would skip the fries- the cheese was too big and they weren't seasoned. Otherwise, all delicious and will be back.

Yelp
Food is always amazing, service is top notch. I'm a local and just recently re-visited and wondered why I waited so long.. highly recommend

Yelp
Terrible service. The owner was rude to us. Overall bad experience. The waiter wrote down our order, it took over an hour to get our drinks and they were all wrong except for one. They were also out of everything - crab cakes, bone marrow and deviled eggs and they didn't even tell us upfront yet put them on the bill.

Yelp
Kevin (owner) and the bartender Chris absolutely made my birthday night. So much fun and they even stayed open for us a little past closing time. So incredible - LOVE this place.

Yelp
Loved this place! The service was amazing the wine was fantastic and the macaroons are to die found my new spot!

Kristin H.

Yelp
We're local and live in the neighborhood. This is one of our favorite places and we love to support Kevin. It's awesome having the good cheese and wine in East.
google avatar

Yelp
Loved the menu!! This place has a great selection, and the food tastes fresh. Wait staff is friendly. I want to see this place succeed, so I'd like to offer a small critique in hopes it will get fixed... Adequate air conditioning inside is a MUST. I've been here three times this summer and can't stay beyond one drink. Fans work when it's cooler out, but quality air conditioning is necessary in Nashville. While this place has great outdoor seating, a lot of us would prefer our wine inside -- away from the awful summer heat. Thanks for the consideration.

Yelp
Staff is awesome. Food is so fresh and delicious. Highly recommend the whipped feta app. Great wine selection. The owner is very personable. Really cute atmosphere and huge back patio. Will definitely be spending lots of time here this summer!

Yelp
Excellent calamari, a warm environment, and great service. Their outdoor seating area is really nice too. This is one of the best new restaurants that's opened in five points in the eight years I've lived in Nashville.

Yelp
The food is incredible, the selection and price is the best in nashville but the best part about this place is the ambiance is unmatched. I'm a local I frequent this place often. The owner Kevin is the best and always makes sure everything is perfect when I visit! Can not say enough good things about Van Gogh's

World C.

Yelp
So happy Van Gogh's opened in East Nashville! It's a perfect edition to the 5 Points neighborhood, friendly, easy going, casual atmosphere, and Kevin the owner is awesome! He put in the work to convert this place to a fun and friendly environment. We love the food and the wine is right on point! Try the Malbec or my wife's favorite the Sauvignon Blanc. It's our favorite new local spot to swing by for good eats, friendly faces and good times.

Yelp
Had an enjoyable and relaxing meal with a friend. Service was great and food was amazing. Will definitely go back when in the Nashville area.

Robin C.

Yelp
If you like $10 spinach salads or $14 piece I'd fish with no sides, getting your own water, getting your own silverware, walking from outside to inside to order and pay, and never seeing a server after you get that salad..come here. On the positive, The food was good and there's outdoor seating with a musician playing .

B L.

Yelp
This place is awesome. - One of the best patios in East Nashville. Big tables and plenty of seating. - Great food - Lovely service - Affordable drinks by Nashville standards - I've heard there is live music at times, but not sure the frequency.

Yelp
We had our wedding rehearsal dinner in the back patio area and it was absolutely perfect! From the start, Kevin (owner and chef) was so great at finding what we wanted and creating the perfect night! The food was delicious and they provided a great bar. They had a full restaurant including our party and they still made it happen. Thank you so much! We are were so happy and all our friends and family loved it!

Grace G.

Yelp
This is one of the best newer restaurants in Nashville!! And they still have affordable prices and amazing drinks. I always leave here feeling nourished, relaxed, and like I left a friends house. I do wish they had a bit more staff because I never know if I'm supposed to order at the bar or have someone come to my table, but the ambiance is very vibes and I love being able to get real food at a wine bar.

Yelp
A great new spot in Nashville. We sat in the courtyard out back. Small plates were excellent - fried calamari, cheese curds, brie, and stuffed dates. The deviled eggs (dukes mayo, white truffle oil, and fresh dill topped paprika, black truffle salt, and fresh chives) stole the night. Everything is made fresh. The herbs and heirloom tomatoes are grown on site. Everything is small plate. Wine selection is limited (about 20), but the ones we tried were all very good. All good vineyards. Service was excellent. If you are looking for a wine bar with a relaxed atmosphere, this is your place.

Kate M.

Yelp
The staff is super nice and friendly and great! However the wine is mediocre level and the food is kind of blah. It's a pretty good sized space with a good outdoor back patio in a great part of East, but it's kind of "meh" in comparison to other Nashville wine bars. They just opened and I hope that they will improve

Lauren P.

Yelp
Absolutely LOVE having Van Gogh's in East Nash. The food is amazing (the brussels really ARE incredible), great wine selection & wonderful staff! Chris is the best!

Lindsay M.

Yelp
This place is amazing! So fun and everyone is so friendly. Get the tomato salad and a spritzer!

Ellen F.

Yelp
I loved some things and did not love others about Van Gogh. First off, I'm so glad a wine bar moved into this space! Seems like it's been a revolving door these last few years so I'm glad to see something like this in the area. Prices are reasonable, food is solid (although they were sold out of a few dishes), service was friendly, and they've got a good selection of drinks. Also the outdoor seating is excellent. We were able to snag the last table on a warm Friday night and the backyard vibes were overall great for a casual night out. That said, they seem a little confused on what they're going for in terms of atmosphere... I wouldn't call the place fancy, but if they did a few basic things they could really level it up and make it feel like a nice/trendier spot. For example, if they swapped out that fluorescent lighting inside, it'd be a totally different vibe. It made us NOT want to sit inside which will be a bummer when it gets cold. Felt super sterile and not cozy despite being in an old house. Also the playlist was a little... odd. It was like a Sarah McLachlan pandora playlist? Not what you'd hear at a place like Hearts. They've also got these beer signs all over the fences outside that make it feel a little more college bar than artsy east Nashville wine bar. With places like Authentique popping up, I want spots like Van Gogh to compete on winning date night business but doesn't totally feel like it's there yet. Overall we'll be back, just feels like they need to iron out some kinks and figure out what their vibe is!

Bob S.

Yelp
So we walked in during a beautiful rain storm and found an East Side gem. Sat on porch outside, wine selection was abundant, Calamari, Fried Green tomatoes and bacon wrapped dates were top shelf. Owner came to greet us, staff was super attentive and they suggested we us visit outside patio this weekend for a live band. My favorite new place in East Nashville.

S T.

Yelp
This place is LEGIT! Staff is always friendly and helpful and OMG- THE FOOD! Wine selection is best in town.

Sarah S.

Yelp
My fiance and I have deemed this "our spot" and intend to be regulars. Kevin is fantastic. He makes the effort to know his patrons and ensure they are cared for. The staff is friendly, fast and knowledgeable. The wine/ beer selection is diverse and well priced. We have been there weekly (if not more frequently) and every dish we have had has been great. We typically are very satisfied and, along with drinks, are able to leave around $50. Our next plan is to take our golden retriever to the back patio for some live music so that our regular status can become a full family affair. This is one of the best, most charming places in East Nashville and we are SO thrilled about our new neighborhood joint.

Charles A.

Yelp
Van Gogh's has quickly become my favorite spot in East Nashville for a casual date night with my fiancée. The owner, Kevin, is super nice, will talk you through their entire menu and drink selection, and is extremely knowledgeable about wine (think he said he trained all over Europe?). Kevin is a well renowned chef, and has obviously great taste, and it shows here in spades. They have wines, small batch craft beers, and ciders from all over the US that you won't find anywhere else in Nashville, their house sangria is excellent, and I've never had anything bad on the menu. The sausages that they don't get locally are flown in from Colorado and are wonderful (the boar is my favorite). The Brussels are also fantastic, especially if you get them with Parmesan and whatever else the staff recommends. The environment is super welcoming, their back patio is huge and dog friendly, and they have live music on the weekends. We've been going once a week since it opened, and plan on continuing to do so. Van Gogh's is an awesome addition to the neighborhood, and I can't recommend it enough
