I love this new neighborhood establishment. It has a lot of character, a massive back patio, and it is located in a cute old house turned into a restaurant. The house was previously a restaurant prior to them moving in, but it has been maximized in the best way possible.
My hair stylist, Emaline, is a bartender here. She works at BBC Salon in the day and here by night. She is a great bartender and is able to multitask really well. I had no idea she was such a great bartender. Girl has an art with hair and drinks. That was apparent while maintaining the bar, but also serving up drinks for the waiter who was focused on the patio patrons. We saw Kevin, the owner, come out a couple of times as well. He was manning the kitchen.
Kevin is one who has a lot of accolades behind him. He has been on the Travel Channel, Food Network, has a couple of cook books out, and is a well renowned chef. Granted, I did not know any of this prior to meeting him tonight. I feel like I should have being that he is a kind of a big deal in the food world. He was nice.
What I think you will like about this place:
- No price gauging. What you see is what you get. All glasses will range from $6 to $15 a glass. House wines taste good! Cocktails are $10-13.
- Knowledgable staff. Everyone knows what they are doing here plus they offer warm hospitable personalities.
- They have a good variety on the food menu. Now, as of this review, they have been open for six days. Things are working out well thus far, but tweaking is bound to happen as they learn the ins and outs of what does and does not work. I tried the truffle fries and enjoyed them. I will need to come here for a proper dinner. They have some decent offerings and the patrons next to me were enjoying their meals.
- Easy to park. Park on the side street or on the front of the building. No qualms about finding anything, but a Thursday night out is different than a weekend. Use your best judgment.
- Your neighborhood bar. This place is not trying to be something its not. They are focused on the neighborhood feel more than trying to be some hip place that draw in the tourists. Though tourists might find their way here and are welcomed, the focus is on the neighborhood it is surrounded by. East Nashville.
In conclusion, I really hope to see this place thrive. I think they have something to offer and I look forward to see them grow into their own.
