Where to Find the Best Tamales in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"Chef Wendy Centeno of this popular Salvadoran food truck is making chicken tamales for the holidays, cooked in a tomato and sweet pepper sauce, sliced potatoes, carrots, in fresh masa wrapped in banana leaves. Centeno’s modern Salvadoran approach means vegan versions of her chicken tamales are on the menu. Call your order in to reserve a dozen and throw in some pupusas while you’re at it." - Bill Esparza

19 Incredible Places to Eat Central American Food in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"Chef Wendy Centeno is one of the bichos (Central American slang for young people) spreading Salvadoran food culture all over Los Angeles with her made-to-order pupusas, amply stuffed with loroco and cheese, pork with beans and cheese, beans and cheese, and more. Her pupusas are gluten-free, with vegetarian and dairy-free fillings available. She also serves sliders, tacos, and loaded steak fries with Salvadoran influences that play to LA’s many dining trends. Centeno’s modern pupusería can be found throughout Los Angeles at several food trucks. Check Instagram for their latest locations." - Bill Esparza

Besides my regular tacos this Mexican is a big pupusas lover which learn to eat them at my job at the airport working with Salvadorians usually I do have my 3 spots which is Vchos truck whenever they’re around Orange County Area and my other 2 regular spots. Honestly anyone can say they make pupusas and they’re the best but some are disappointing way to small and thin more dough than the filling don’t even go with their curtido and that is the main problem with anyone selling them. Vchos yes can get little pricey but there’s an old saying you get what you pay for the amount of filling if it’s revueltas, loroco, pork spinach, shrimp etc this place won’t disappoint. There’s a combo with 2 pupusas you can choose from fried platains and side of their fresh juicy curtido they do have an option of gluten Their menu is not only Pupusas but also Pan Con Pollo, Yucan Con Chicharron, Empanada, chicken pastelito and their vcho sliders authentic Salvadorean food and also I suggest to give them a try again people are used to anything people sell them and call it authentic when there’s more dough and their curtido is dry AF also keep in mind this ain’t the restaurant is food truck

Takes a while for your order and seems a bit pricy for a food truck, but I guess that is the price we pay that’s days for prepared food. Ordered the two pupusa combo with plantain. I really enjoyed the pork, bean and cheese pupusa but the bean and cheese was a bit plain. Seemed like a lot more cheese in the one with pork as well. The plantain was very mushy. Not sure if that’s how they are supposed to be but I couldn’t eat it. Five stars for the pork one and three stars for everything else.

How is this fondonga gonna throw my sliders into a box on stale bread? She didn't separate the sliders either. She forgot to put the cabbage on one. She grilled my bread folded on one slider. Then she gave me my order in open boxes. This is a food truck lady. Everything is to-go. The chipotle sauce was the best part of the meal, but I could buy that stuff at the store. Put your hair up and wear something that doesn't look like you've been dipping your fists into the sauce. Wakala!!!

The food is ok. I ordered a pupusas with queso and chicharron and it was only cheese. It didn't have much flavor. They did look beautiful and well made. It was a little bland. Took them 25 minutes to make my order and I was the only one. I'm just saying they are a way over priced

Vchos pupusas is there too, besides other food crates. It's not a food truck anymore like they had in Downey if you knew about it. Anyways delicious like always.

Wayyyy too slow for a piece of bread filled with meat. Edit: Okay I waited 20 minutes, they comped me a sprite, which helped to make up for it. And the super greasy but super delicious meat pocket was kinda worth the wait.

Food is decent but way overpriced. It is cheaper, better service, and tastier if you go to an actual restaurant. Today we paid about $70 for food for 2 people. 4 pupusas (they are not that big), a platano plate, and loaded fries. And we didn't even buy drinks. I don't think we are coming back. It is too expensive for street food.

Delicious food but the ladies who work in the truck seem miserable and are never friendly toward patrons, very cold. I’ve been going for 3 years and they act like you’re annoying or inconveniencing them by ordering a few pupusas. If you mobile order—forget it. You’ll sit at the window for 20 min before they acknowledge you to hand you your order.
