"This Oak Cliff restaurant is known for its inventive Creole dishes, including a country-fried vegan bacon sandwich, greens gumbo, spicy Cajun coconut ramen, and a cauliflower wings flight. It was important to owner Elizabeth Anderson that the restaurant be family-friendly, so it offers a play space for kids — she doesn’t mind if single parents linger over coffee or lunch. It’s a great space to linger, with warm wood decor on the walls and modern decor touches to make it feel more like a beautiful dining room than a restaurant." - Courtney E. Smith, Alaena Hostetter

"This Nashville Hot Chick’em sandwich will please vegans wishing they could partake in the hot chicken trend, and no cauliflower will have to be consumed to make it happen. Not that there’s anything wrong with cauliflower. It’s just not chicken." - Rachel Pinn

Great tasting vegan food! First time eating here. The staff was very personable and helpful. The food was amazing! The menu is very reasonably priced. We ordered the country plate, fried lasagna, and got the banana butter pecan cake for dessert. We enjoyed everything about our experience. It's a 20 minute drive from our home but well worth it. We will definitely be repeat customers!

My trip to Vegan Food House in Dallas, TX was an unexpected delight that I'd happily repeat again and again! Arriving in Dallas for a whirlwind business day, we were weary from an early flight and rental car fiasco. Thankfully, stumbling upon Vegan Food House was a stroke of pure luck. Firstly, let me rave about the exceptional customer service, led by Kensley (I hope I got her name right!). Her recommendations were spot on and truly elevated our dining experience. We kicked off our feast with the Mozzarella Bites with Buttermilk Ranch—absolute perfection! The texture of the bites was mind-blowing, and that Buttermilk Ranch? Utterly addictive. Moving on to the Cajun Fish Fried Tacos & Fries, my taste buds were treated to a symphony of flavors. The only downside? I wished for more of that tantalizingly smokey ranch—seriously addictive stuff! Next up was the Big Creole Basket featuring Fried Oyster Mushrooms, Shrimp, Clam Strips, Boudin Ball, Garlic Toast & Fries. While it was good overall, I felt the fried mushrooms could use a touch more seasoning or salt to truly make them sing. Nonetheless, the shrimp were delightful, and the variety in the basket was appreciated. Even my sister, who typically shuns sweets, couldn't resist indulging in Vegan Food House's red velvet cake. Miss Angie, whoever you are, your red velvet magic is something to behold. Just a tiny request: more icing, please! The food at Vegan Food House is so incredible that I'd gladly hop on a flight from CLT to Dallas just for another taste. Bravo to the chefs and staff for creating such a memorable dining experience!

Just go ahead and order! You won't regret it!! Staying in Dallas and took a chance here. Delivery right to my hotel door. All vegan items were great minus the fries but I think it's what happens when you get delivery, they just get mushy. Also our drinks were forgotten but they refunded us. The jackfruit sandwich was delicious, the Mac and cheese all good, creamy and slight kick. The best was the chicken and mashed potatoes with kale dinner plate. I wish I hadn't shared! So good, perfect texture and flavors in every bite.

Awesome Experience! First time trying this establishment, but definitely not the last! None of us are "true" vegans, but this food has us ALL seriously considering the transition! The restaurant has a cool, rustic, eclectic vibe. The service was informative and helpful. And the food, The Food, THE FOOD was DELICIOUS! As you can see, we ordered a variety of options, and the ALL were unbelievably pleasing, to our palates! VFH, you have some new "regulars", all the way from Ft. Worth! See you SOON!!

The shrimp creole nachos were more like a soup. They were quite soggy and didn’t taste like nachos at all. Our uptown burger was cold and didn’t have the expected flavor either. We let the server know so hopefully they can look into those dishes. The cakes were good though. They redeemed the experience.

The vegan nachos were delicious just the right balance of flavor and texture. The combination of the melted vegan cheese and the spicy salsa added a burst of flavor to every bite. I couldn't resist having another serving of these mouthwatering nachos. The best part was knowing that they were completely plant-based, making them a guilt-free indulgence.

Love having so many vegan options. The food was ok but the descriptions did not seem to match the food I received. The brussel sprouts had good flavor but were overcooked. The fish consisted of mushrooms fried in cornmeal. They were dry and not great. The soupy stuff was advertised as something with cheese sauce (I forgot the name). It tasted more like a gumbo with no cheese flavor, but was good and spicy. I would probably not go again unless there were no other vegan options. I liked the gluten free bread. It seems like they tried and maybe it was just what I ordered. The presentation of the food was nice and I like that it was vegan with gluten free options.
