"This vegetarian Chinese spot is helmed by a former Daimo chef with serious Cantonese cooking chops, so all the usual mock-meat preparations are a cut above. Dishes like the eggplant with vegan fish steak, the salt-and-pepper pumpkin, and the pan-fried tofu skin are as good as anything you’ll find at any of the area’s omnivore-oriented Chinese restaurants." - Dianne de Guzman, Momo Chang, Eater Staff

I used to eat a lot from here when I lived in Hayward. Visited again today after a long time, and the food was still as I remembered it. Their taste and quality have been maintained over time. It is one of the best vegan foods and definitely the best Chinese food I have ever tasted. Their plant based meat substitutes taste very fresh, and food is flavorful. Highly recommended.

I decided to try a vegan Chinese restaurant since I never had been to one and was little disappointed on the seasoning of the food. I went during the lunch time so that I could try a smaller portion of the item. There was a variety of options of vegan shrimp, beef, and pork. However, I wanted to taste the flavors so I ordered the lunch special eggplant which came with a small bowl of soup. Both items were not seasoned at all

Who knew food with no garlic or onions would be so delicious. This is a must travel to location. 1. Salt and Pepper mushrooms 2. Salt and Pepper pumpkin 3. Mixed vegetables and pan fried noodles. Not to be missed hot oil...homemade. We are looking forward to our next visit to enjoy what our eyes drank in from other tables like Sichuan beef broccoli. Although we had two deep fried dishes both had distinct flavor profiles. Soda was $4.50 with tax being 10%.

Perfectly cooked vegetables and mouth-watering salt and pepper chicken (vegan). Eggplant with tofu poured over rice and warm sesame balls were also delicious.

I came here to get my 2 year old daughter some noodles she requested. The lady in front had an unpleasant welcome and was just anxious for us to order and go. I ordered the vegetable chow main. As I am eating it with my toddler I find a mysterious stick with hairs attached I will post a picture of. I took the noodles right back and the lady told me that’s a first complaint and she doesn’t believe it and will not be refunding my money. As I look around the place looks absolutely disgusting. I will never come here again and you shouldn’t either. She didn’t care my little toddler could’ve eaten and or poked herself with this stick. That clearly looked like it was saturated with noodles oil.

Absolutely delicious food. We are recently vegetarian and have been on the search for good restaurants in the East Bay and this one seriously delivers. We tried the beef and broccoli and could hardly tell it wasn't real beef! Serious double take when they brought it out. It tasted just like the real thing, our meal was delightful. The wait staff was very friendly, and the tea provided was quite good. Can't wait to try more of the menu!

Vegan orange chicken was soaking in oil and did not have any crisp to it just a chewy seitan, the sauce was bland the bed of broccoli was good and the eggroll was mediocre. It was not busy it was early noon. Can't support again.

Absolutely Incredible. The service was beyond expectation, fast and friendly. Hot tea was the perfect temp and prep. The homemade chili oil was flavorful and herbaceous. One of the best I have ever had and they sell it by the jar. Food was amazing; Hot&sour soup was delicious and an amazing value. Potstickers were generous in size and bursting with perfectly balanced flavors. The Braised tofu and greens was, no exaggeration, impeccably cooked mushrooms and baby boc choy, with expert execution on the tofu in a savory sauce that was in the exact consistency. I am grateful to have been able to share the flavors in such a professional meal. Many thanks!
