Verdure Kitchen & Cocktails - Review - Morningside - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Atlanta’s grass wall trend has quickly taught us that all that glitters (with green vines) isn’t gold, so at the sight of fake trees and foliage, our hearts usually shrink like the Grinch. But Verdure, a garden-themed, fern-draped newcomer near Piedmont Park, makes us reconsider. That’s because Verdure isn’t just a pretty place to impress judgy dates and friends, they have a Pan-African menu delivering some of the most exciting flavors in the city. photo credit: Amy Sinclair The upscale atmosphere sets the mood for a milestone night. Tables are dressed with vases of tall, fluffy pampas, and small table lamps provide an intimate glow. If you're lucky, there's a sax player in-house beautifully harmonizing songs you'll recognize. There’s no strict dress code here, but so many folks dressed up in their best night lounge ensembles can fool you into thinking that this Garden of Eden is managed by a bouncer who has typed out “lewks” on several occasions. Once settled at your table, you’ll quickly observe the bar-to-table parade of Verdure’s gorgeous cocktails, which weave in flavors like Ethiopian honey and South African Amarula. If you fancy sweeter cocktails, then the coconut hibiscus margarita is a silky-smooth showstopper—the glass rim is coated in a red hardshell candy and the creamy coconut milk makes this limey punch go down easy. But the real big flavors come into play when the plates start arriving at the table. And we won’t dare say “slap your mama good,” but the Kedjenou mussels make us want to disavow all her guidance to not fill up on bread. We will, Ma, ask for as many complimentary focaccia slices as necessary to soak up every ounce of their Ivorian-spiced tomatoey, gingery, and garlicky mussel bath. photo credit: Amy Sinclair In fact, it’s actually the African-influenced sauces, broths, and gravies that make all the proteins stand out. These days, lamb entrees are about as common in the city as streets with the name “Peachtree.” And while Verdure’s lamb chops are charred just as well as any other great lamb spot, woody notes in the accompanying Zanzibarian gravy give the dish the nostalgia of a holiday dinner. A crispy whole fish is already our jam, but their semi-sweet tomato puree layered in earthy spices makes their crispy red snapper snappy and memorable. You'll remember your night at Verdure—the food, the setting. It's also entirely possible that when you're heading out, you'll strike a pose against the grass wall as the sax plays on, leftovers in hand. Just give in gracefully. Food Rundown photo credit: Amy Sinclair Creamy Coconut Hibiscus Margarita Like kids at a birthday party waiting for their turn to get a balloon animal, you’ll watch with growing anticipation as pretty cocktail after pretty cocktail gets dropped off at tables. Will your drink be pretty, too? If it’s the hibiscus margarita, it will be, and if you like sweet cocktails, then you’ll love it, too. It’s more fruit punch than margarita because there's a touch of creamy coconut milk that makes this smooth enough to disguise the alcohol. photo credit: Amy Sinclair Zesty Pineapple-Glazed Gambas The sweetness of the pineapple can be a little off putting for these meaty shrimp. But when paired with a slice of creamy avocado and the sharpness of the sauteed onion, the whole dish spikes to life. Kedjenou de Moules If you always order mussels for the broth, this wine-based Ivorian bouillon doesn’t disappoint. And we like the meat of mussels too, of course, but we’d just be happy to have a big loaf of bread and a bowl of this liquid stewed with onion, garlic, ginger, tomato, and spices. photo credit: Amy Sinclair Zanzi Peppercorn Lamb Rib Chops The lamb chops are meaty with a light charr that gives them a satisfying smoky taste. A side of spiced Zanzibar gravy may look like just showy complement, but after you find yourself with the last forkful of lamb chasing around any remaining sauce on your plate, then you’ll know who the true start of the meal is." - Nina Reeder

Verdure Kitchen and Cocktails Opens on Dutch Valley Road in Atlanta for African Dishes - Eater Atlanta

"Verdure Kitchen and Cocktails is now open on Dutch Valley Road with a menu of dishes styled after those found in countries throughout the African continent, including from Nigeria, Ethiopia, Senegal, and Ghana. The restaurant takes over the space once home to Jai Ho Indian Kitchen, which opened in 2017. Jai Ho closed on Dutch Valley Road during the height of the pandemic, but a location remains open at Krog Street Market. Located on the ground floor of the Belvedere condominium complex on the edge of Piedmont Park, chef and Ivory Coast native Jean-Louis Sangare aims to blend traditional African dishes and flavors with familiar dishes and ingredients from the southern United States and other Western nations. Look for appetizers of roasted egusi hummus served with fresh vegetables and pita or burrata accompanied by roasted summer vegetables, along with larger starters like pineapple-glazed gambas (shrimp) and crispy fried octopus. Entrees include peppercorn-encrusted lamb rib chops served with Zanzibar sauce, Senegalese chicken yassa in a tangy mustard and onion sauce, and braai-style grilled ribeye with sides of Moroccan couscous, red rice, or fried plantains. Dessert sees Sangare creating chocolate mousse using African chokola beans and a date and apple pie infused with tamarind topped with a whipped tamarind Chantilly cream. Wines by the glass and bottle are available from the bar, along with local and imported beer. Cocktails are broken up into three sections: parfumerie; boozy; and fizzy. There’s a kiwi and passionfruit margarita and a Kenyan dawa cocktail with vodka, honey, and lime under the parfumerie section, with boozy drinks including classics like a Corpse Reviver #2 and an espresso martini made with Ethiopian coffee and coffee liqueur. Fizzy drinks feature a rose paloma, French 75, and a juniper and tangerine gin fizz. Verdure Kitchen will eventually serve lunch, but is currently open for dinner daily, starting at 5 p.m." - Beth McKibben

I’m giving this restaurant four stars because service was slow. Though it was not a busy night, we waited 10 minutes before being seated with a reservation. However, our waiter was rather attentive and polite during our stay. I enjoyed the strip steak and the mussels were good as well. They had a unique flavor to them which made the dish delicious. We also enjoyed the lamb which was cooked rather well and seasoned just right. I’d recommend the lab and the mussels!

We had the most amazing experience at Verdure! My husband and I had to pause for a moment just to soak in how incredible both the food and service were. The flavors were out of this world — every bite was a masterpiece. The fried octopus was, hands down, the best I’ve ever had. The sea bass was perfectly prepared, and the lobster in the mac and cheese was tender and cooked to absolute perfection. The Zesty Gambas came with a sauce so delicious, I genuinely wanted to lick the plate! We ended the meal with the Ch Kola Mousse Cake — incredibly moist, creamy, and the perfect sweet finish. Hannah’s service made us feel like we were the only guests in the room — warm, attentive, and thoughtful. Verdure delivered the best birthday dinner I’ve ever had, and we absolutely can’t wait to return with friends!

My fiancé and I were here on 07/06 to celebrate my birthday. We were looking to come here for a while and decided to finally go, and we were far from disappointed. We made a reservation for 8pm and arrived at that time. We chose to valet our car which was $10 (standard for Atlanta in my opinion). We were seated immediately. The atmosphere was so cozy and soft with elegant touches. The music was at a perfect volume and the dining room was nice and warm. Our waiter Cartier (please forgive me if I did not spell your name correctly) was absolutely wonderful. He was so attentive and explained the menu perfectly. From the complementary bread all the way to the birthday desert given to me by the restaurant felt intentional. Nothing felt out of place, and they exceeded our expectations. The head chef was not on location this night, but the sous chef came out to talk with us and it was clear that they really care about the quality of the food they serve. The manager/owner also came over and we told them that we considered them better than STK by a longshot. We did not feel like we wasted money. We had zero complaints or issues. We highly suggest this location for a date night or celebration! Everything was truly delicious! Drinks: Lychee Martini and Rose Hibiscus Collins These drinks were exactly what you would hope for. Quality! They were far from boozy but were not watered down at all. We could have easily ordered another round of drinks and not have been drunk. Appetizer: Crispy Fried Octopus WOW! This was phenomenal! The octopus was perfectly crispy and the corn puree on the dish was so delicious. We cleaned the plate! This dish was so unique and flavorful that we simply cannot compare it to anything else. Entrees: Signature Braai Ribeye and Zanzibar Roasted Lamb Rib Chops These entrees deserve to be talked about! My fiancé had the Lamb, and I had the Ribeye. The lamb was cooked so well that my fiancé was able to separate the meat from the bone with ease. The taste was far from gamey. My Ribeye (comes on the bone) was ordered medium well and it was so delicious that I finished the whole thing (I always have leftovers). It was so juicy and crispy on top. Both dishes were packed with flavor and had demi glazes. Nothing on either dish was overpowering. Sides: Herb-Infused Mac & Cheese and Mashed Potatoes The sides were also impressive. Both dishes were great. The mac and cheese had an amazing cheese-pull, and the mashed potatoes were velvety smooth. Dessert: Creme Brulee Just as we were sure that we wanted dessert, our waiter and the manager came out with this dish on a large plate that said happy birthday. It was so nice of them, and it toped of the night.

I can’t say enough good things about my experience dining in at Verdure. From the moment I walked in, I knew it was going to be a good night. Extremely friendly and welcoming staff. What I loved about each item I ate was the presentation. Each dish is full of flavor and worth every bite.

Google
Our experience at Verdure was phenomenal. The charming ambience is even nicer than the pictures online show, wowing us as we walked in. Our server, Rich, was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, giving us great recommendations on what to pick. We started off with the Zesty Pineapple-Glazed Gambas, which were very unique and flavorful. For entrees, we had the Ethiopian Honey-Glazed Sea Bass and Signature Braai Ribeye. Both were incredibly tasty and prepared to perfection. The cocktails and wine were delicious as well! This restaurant is a must try for a date night or special occasion!

Google
Fantastic experience my first and second time at Verdure & love the African diaspora menu! The cocktails are delicious, great attentive service and the food - crabcakes, lobster mac, period peri chicken etc, all amazing! I brought my friend in town from DC and he enjoyed it too! Can't wait to come back and order more from the menu, Verdure is a gem.

Lovely spot for a special occasion. Had my birthday brunch here with family and enjoyed it very much. There was live music (saxophonist), delicious drinks, and wonderful food. The place looks great and the menu is a cross between African and American cuisine. Must try!

Google
My experience was decent. The food was really good. The drinks were decent but the service was questionable. It took us 10 minutes to be greeted after seating, the servers won’t run each others drinks so there were moments were I was just watching our cocktails sweat, I asked a guy behind the bar a question about the rum selection and he looked like he would rather be doing anything other than that. The host brought over a little birthday stand which I thought was cute and the waitress brought a birthday dessert which was sweet but she didn’t ask what and brought something my brother doesn’t eat. There’s a 20% gratuity on the checks which I don’t mind but it definitely shows in the service. I would go back for the food though. I had octopus, suya lamb and lobster mac.

Yelp
Stylish space, delicious food, and warm vibes. My Mother's Day Brunch at Verdure was such a lovely experience. The atmosphere is chic yet cozy--with beautiful greenery, soft music, and an overall calming aesthetic that makes it easy to settle in and enjoy the moment. I ordered the French toast with a side of sausage, and it did not disappoint. The French toast was golden and slightly crisp on the edges, with a soft, custardy center and just the right amount of sweetness. The sausage was flavorful and perfectly cooked--savory with a nice little kick. The service was kind and attentive, though the food did take a bit longer than expected to arrive and although we had a reservation, the wait time to be seated was a bit longer than I'd anticipate especially for a reserved spot. That's the only reason I'm holding back the fifth star--but once it came, it was clear they take pride in the quality and presentation. Verdure is a great spot for a relaxing brunch date or catching up with friends. I'll definitely be back to try more on the menu!

Yelp
I came here around the holidays with a group of 4. It's a beautiful restaurant located near the botanical gardens. Dimmed lighting and very aesthetic. Our waitress was pretty attentive and I remember her coming around pretty often. The restaurant was busy but not noisy where you couldn't hear the person next to you. Onto the food... as a group we ordered the Brussels sprouts, octopus and Egusi hummus. The Brussels sprouts might have been the best I've ever had. Sooo delicious. However, the hummus was disappointing. We ordered it thinking we'd have at least a small taste of Egusi but there was none just kind of bland hummus. The octopus was fine but nothing to write home about. Then for individual entrees: I had the lamb chops which were fine but I felt a bit overpriced. Two people from my party had the sea bass which was comically small for the price and the other had the Branzino which she thought was just okay. All in all, it's a beautiful restaurant but the food fell short especially for the price. I'd recommend coming for drinks and the Brussels sprouts.

Yelp
Verdue Kitchen is truly a hidden gem. Small parking lot, street parking, and valet available. The ambiance was warm and inviting. The music was soothing and low enough for comfortable conversation. From the time we were seated until we left, the service was EXCELLENT. Rich was knowledgeable, professional, and personable. We ordered octopus, lamb, brussel sprouts, red rice, sea bass and asparagus. The flavors were AMAZING. I also ordered an old fashion and a Kenyan Dawa Cocktail. Both were perfection. The Verdue team is Excellent from the general manager to the staff. I HIGHLY recommend. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I came to brunch at verdure and parked on the street for free and once inside I immediately appreciated the interior design and decorations. There was a musician playing the saxophone during the meal which was nice live music. There's a nice classy vibe. We had a nice and attentive server and were able to order quickly and the food and drinks came out in good timing. I got the shrimp and grits, which was not made in the usual american way. It was kind of a twist on the normal brunch meal, and I enjoyed it, although the portion was a little small. The only downside of the day was that we ordered two additional drinks near the end of our meal and they never came. Besides that, I enjoyed myself and would return for dinner to try new items.

Yelp
I visited Verdure Kitchen & Cocktails for a birthday brunch. I've heard about this place, but was not familiar at all. Arriving, the ambience was gorgeous. The interior was fun and inviting, plus on Sundays they have a mimosa special. However; the servers were busy and did not get the table's order in time for the special which was disappointing. Our server was nice and we ordered drinks.... Which did not come for 45 minutes. We ordered our food and that also took an hour to come, and some of the food was not even hot. Apparently there was a shortage of staff , cooks and only one bartender. I'm not sure if I would give this place another try, I had high hopes.

Yelp
Seated for 15 minutes. No service. Finally we were discovered after my attempt to order drinks at the bar. New Year's Eve 7:45pm. Waitress however was fantastic and very apologetic. Started with the spicy crab (EXCELLENT) and a seafood bisque with oyster and shrimp. This dish had absolutely NO flavor. Very bland. No. Then we ordered entrees: lamb and I ordered the sea bass. Lamb was delicious but it wasn't tender at all. My sea bass wasn't flavorful at all. I could've done that myself at home. The veggies in the fish weren't cooked. My carrot was absolutely raw and my onions weren't translucent, crispy. NO, very disappointing for $54. Yes, $54. Now remember I said we ordered lamb and sea bass? Server brings out filet mignon we believe and I was served beef Wellington and was told when I asked what it was that it was the beef Wellington I ordered. Say what? They quickly removed the beef Wellington. I probably should have kept it because the fish was ridiculous. Thankfully my cousin looked at her supposed lamb and said this doesn't look like lamb and didn't touch it. I hope they didn't serve this dish to someone after it sat with us. The potato au gratin was dry but my cousin liked it. The macaroni and cheese was meh. The drinks were the highlight. The French 75 and lemon drop martini were both delicious! Didn't bother with dessert. I will not return. It was my cousins second time there, she obviously was ok with her meal. I can't.

Yelp
Such a beautiful restaurant, with cocktails and food to match. Location and Parking Located in Midtown, Valet parking is available for $10 per car; cash or cash app accepted. Venue and Atmosphere As you stp through the doors you are transported to a lush tropical paradise. Straw light fixtures, plants, and floor to ceiling windows surround you, along with mood lighting on each table. Service Service was prompt, courteous, and efficient. The server noticed that I wasn't a fan of my first drink and promptly made a great recommendation. Food and Beverages The Caesar salad and prawns were amazing. The strip steak was tender and juicy, but lacking in flavor. They did bring seasonings to accompany the steak, but I didn't plan on using them at first. After a few bites I discovered that the seasonings were necessary. My partner ordered the lobster mac and cheese, which was perfectly creamy with well-cooked lobster. While I don't recall the name of my first drink, the St. Germain was wonderful. Verdict I'll be back!

Yelp
This restaurant was very pretty! So good for pictures and social media if that's what you're into. I had a reservation and was seated pretty quickly. Our waiter was friendly and took our orders promptly. Started with a few cocktails and they were really good. I got the prawns as my appetizer. Takes some navigating but the meat was juicy. The sauce it came in was super good. For my entree I ordered steak with some spinach. I found that they were both quite salty..the spinach more than the steak. I was able to devour it but it could of been better. A few of the people I dined with also had concerns with the saltiness. I got the creme brûlée for desert. It was more runny that sold to say the least but it was pretty tasty. Id give this place another shot and maybe try some different menu items. This is a great spot for a date or girls night.

Yelp
We dined at Verdure this weekend and it was nothing other than beautiful! Upon seating, our host Kelly provided us with menu recommendations which we ended up ordering to share and they were amazing! Our server Richie also made sure to always check on us to make sure we had everything that we needed. We'll definitely be back to try out the brunch menu!

Yelp
The food was great. I paired the pancakes with the eggs + bacon and it was the perfect combination. I also had espresso martinis (two of them!) and they were great. Rich was our server and he was very attentive! I would come back because this is the perfect ambiance for a date night or girls brunch! Valet is $10 and street parking is limited.

Yelp
Came here with Tasting Collective so not sure how many of the items are in the regular menu. The dinner was well composed and tasty. The steak was overcooked for my taste, but all the dishes were overall tasty. I would come back to try the regular menu. Service was very attentive and it's a beautiful space!

Yelp
Chile......... (insert hymn humming here)....this place is a blessing. A true culinary experience and not just another pricey place with a grass wall. Valet parking is available for your convenience to get right in, as there is very limited street parking. Once inside, the ambience of the restaurant really needs to be taken in. (please go to the bathroom). The bread offering was this light and toasted focacia with butter and olive oil and a dash of salt. So inviting! The cocktail and wine list is extremely impressive. I have many times shot at cocktails over $15 with base alcohol like tito's vodka or captain morgan rum NOT THIS PLACE. true craft cocktails and wines that take time and effort to source. Anyone who has blue points available daily gets a high five from me baby. Fresh and delicious. I didnt even mind not having horseradish as their vinagrette was delicious. For entree......the Snapper tho!!!!!!! OMG! literally PURRRRFECCKKKK. I chose to pair with red rice and alot of the spices and it was an amazing meal. I wish I had space for dessert but I know I will be back. Service from Jeremy and Rich was immaculate. Very attentive, friendly, charming even lol. I was in want of nothing!

Yelp
If you wanna come here to get your Instagram pictures, get a drink take your pictures and leave dinner was subpar took forever. It was hot in here. There's only one other table besides our table and it took over 45 minutes to get three dishes that were simple with no substitutions during our meal there was a giant spider that crawled across the table. I made it aware to the server. He didn't even say he was sorry And we got no sympathy from anybody about the spider. Do not come here.

Yelp
Loved that it was African, but not offered up as such. It was a pleasant surprise! Super fancy, fresh, and tasty. I love when a nice place is worth the money. No complaints! The trees and patterns everywhere were relaxing, yet stimulating at the same time! Can't wait to go at night!

Yelp
Came across this african restaurant tucked in a corner of building apartments. Beautiful interiors and ambiance. They provide fresh bread and it was good as well. I had the berry cocktail and it was yummy. Would love to try other cocktails next time. Our server is attentive. As Pictured we ordered the following kedjenou de moules and safari strip steak.

Yelp
Verdure is absolutely beautiful, the other reviews are spot on about that. Aesthetically, it's perfect for a special occasion or fancy date night. Our waitress was very nice and took time to explain everything although at times it was a little hard to hear her. I also found the process of removing plates from the table to be odd and clunky. We had beautiful place settings upon arrival, and then they came around and asked to remove everything. It just made things a little awkward as this took a couple visits from staff to get everything. I didn't order a drink but everyone who did really liked theirs and the presentation was nice. Verdure is pricy and we weren't super hungry, so my husband and I decided to split the Octopus for an appetizer and the Lamb Chops for the entree. I loved the Octopus but beware it's chewier than calamari so that may freak some people out. We enjoyed the lamb chops and thought the portion was decent (we took the last one to go). I don't consider Verdure group friendly because they have an inflexible bill policy. They'll only split it between 3 cards and will only do an equal split. For a pricy luxury branded place, I'd expect flexibility to simplify and enhance customer experience.

Yelp
I'll pass next time and here's why... We showed up for our 5:00pm reservation and little early so we sat in the parking lot until about 4:50. We reached the front door and before we could even come inside, the hostess says "sorry we don't open until 5:00pm". Understood. Although it's cold and rainy, we wait outside until 5:00pm. Once we reach the door, the same hostess approaches us and says "they're finishing up their staff meeting so you'll have to wait for a second". At this point, I'm a bit annoyed. Our reservation is at 5:00pm so why are we feeling like we're intruding on a meeting that should've happened before customers arrive? But hey, it's Atlanta. Although the restaurant is absolutely beautiful, the food lacked seasoning. The complimentary bread was a nice touch but my strip steak and spinach needed flavor. The brussel sprouts were pretty good. was not impressed and I will not be back. Our server was great but overall the experience was lackluster and it started with the host at the front door. Apparently valet is $10 but we ended up parking before valet was even set up so luckily we didn't have to pay. Don't let TikTok hype this place up because I definitely fell for it.

Yelp
We tried to patronize this place for Sunday brunch and were treated like pest for our efforts. The hostess said we could sit at the bar and once seated we weren't even acknowledged by the bartender. He was understandably busy making drinks, but then he started drying/polishing glasses and we still hadn't been acknowledged. Over 5 mins pass and when we request menus he tells us that's he's really backed up so it will be at least 30 mins before he's able to serve us. No thanks! At least the valet had enough integrity not to charge us lol. Won't be back.

Yelp
Went here for my sisters birthday dinner and it was such a vibe! Super cute aesthetic. Appetizers are more for individuals than for the table. Sides are more shareable. Our server was Cartier and he was attentive and nice. He knew a lot about the menu and had a great attitude all night. I did order a medium ribeye and it came out more well done but everything else was fine.

Yelp
We went for Valentine's Day and ordered the Prix Fix menu. Atmosphere was terrific. We made reservations for 8pm and got there at 7:45 and were seated at the bar while our table was made available. We ordered drinks which were terrific. $53 Had to pay $25 just to make the reservation. We were seated shortly after 8 and were ignored by servers for over an hour. We asked 3 times if a server was available, but no one ever came to our table. Finally as we were frustrated and about to leave we mentioned it to a server and he took our order. Then we waited for another hour before any food showed up. By the time the food arrived it was cold and everything was tough and over cooked. We weren't served our final dish until around 11:30. Bill for food was $325 (including the $25 fee for the reservation, but not including drinks. We only had water at the table). This is the worst and most over priced dining experience I think I have ever had.

Yelp
We got to the restaurant at 730 on a Sunday night. They had valet parking out front which is a nice touch but since there was street parking available we opted for that. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful, the tables are well spaced and the seats are comfortable. The only downside about the inside is that the bathrooms are heavily perfumed which triggered my wife's allergies and gave her a headache. We had the opportunity to try many dishes as we had a few people with us. Appetizer wise the prawns were solid. The sauce was a bit salty but the sauce had a nice base note of flavor which stood up to it well enough. The lamb loin was nice, Brussels sprouts were okay. My wife had the sea bass which she was happy with. I had asked the server what the most filling dish on the menu is since I was really hungry. She told me to get the ribeye so I did. It was much smaller than expected, cooked to temp but tough and stringy. I also ordered a side of spinach and asparagus. The sides are pricey so you would think you'd get a reasonable amount. The spinach side is $9 and I ate it in 3 bites. The asparagus side was better but still only about 8 spears. The part that that made the evening difficult was how long it took to order and get our food. I'm all for taking time to eat but for an appetizer and an entree it should not take almost 3 hours. On top of that we had to pay a service charge of over $110 and it certainly was not $110 worth of service. All in all I wouldn't come for dinner again. It's too pricey for what it is and the service was unfortunately lacking. Not too mention I left hungry. I think the place has potential but needs a few things worked put.Maybe brunch is better.

Yelp
Very beautiful and ambient restaurant, they have a knowledgeable staff and it was definitely an experience but that's kind of where it stops. So I arrived with a party of 7 it was hard to get water for all of us for some odd reason took 30 minutes and it definitely wasn't packed or busy so I was confused. Out of the 7 only 3 enjoyed the food I particularly didn't like the steak I asked for a medium well and I received a lot of pink and chewy product so didn't finish that, a guest of mine had the sea bass the price to portion ratio definitely were no where near each other. I also ordered a side of Spinach and it definitely tasted as if it was frozen and cooked and that small side was $9. I see this with a lot of restaurants in the Atlanta and metro area, the money is going to the aesthetics of the restaurant and not the food this was another money grab that I will not be returning to I do wish them continuous success and I hope the food improves because it was definitely top 5 worst Meals I've had in Georgia...

Yelp
I went here over the weekend as I booked the cocktail experience and it was an experience indeed! Upon arrival, there aren't many parking options. Luckily I found a spot on the street or you can valet. When I walked in, I was instantly greeted with kindness and quick service. Since I booked the cocktail experience, I was seated at the bar. Each person behind the bar was introduced and I was given a menu. Then I was asked if I wanted the complimentary bread service. I truly appreciated this as some people don't always want bread so this prevents waste. I went to order food and a drink. Luckily everyone behind the bar was knowledgeable on food and drink items to provide recommendations. I ordered the zesty pineapple-glazed gambas (shrimp) hot appetizer and grapefruit tequila Negroni drink. Everything came out timely and was delicious! I was really impressed with the shrimp dish. Very flavorful! What I was really impressed with was the cocktail experience. Whenever a bartender makes a drink for anyone in the restaurant, extra remains to give to the people sitting at the bar. So maybe don't order an alcoholic drink if you plan to be there a while as you will get plenty of it during this experience. Finally, let's talk about the decor. Absolutely exquisite! You can tell work and dedication went into the designs inside the restaurant. Very inviting. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
I finally had the opportunity to dine at Verdure! My friend is getting married, and I wanted to celebrate her engagement, especially since I've seen so many buzz around this establishment, I thought this would be the perfect place. First and foremost, Verdure is exquisitely decorated, with an ambiance that's perfect for any celebratory occasion. However, as we prepared to place our meal orders, we encountered some discomfort due to the limited table space our plates, drinks and complimentary bread that is provided on the house. To start, I ordered the brussels sprouts, which was delicious! As for my main entree, I chose the strip steak and mashed potatoes, accompanied by plantains and red rice on the side. I was curious to see how the other side dishes tasted and the overall quality did not leave a lasting impression Surprisingly, I found my appetizer more enjoyable than my main course.

Yelp
THEFT!! Check your account to ensure you were charged correctly!! I didn't want to leave this review, but after noticing I was overcharged $45 for a drink, I had to. -reservations were for 8pm, I sat at the bar to have ONE drink while I waited for my friend -drink with added service charge was $21.12. The bartender was nice, so I left an additional $5 tip, totaling $26.12, as I had to close out my tab before being seated at the table -hardly anyone in on this Wednesday night, so the waitress came right over after we were seated and took drink orders. I didn't order another drink, but my friend ordered hers. It was taking too long, and I asked my friend where is your drink, I guess I was loud, the waitress walks to the bar, grabs the drink and brings it to the table. She then proceeds to ask me 3 times back to back if I am okay. It was excessive because my friend ended up saying she stated she was fine, why are you keep asking her that. To put a little more context, this wasn't a "can I get you anything" are you ok. It was her asking because she heard me ask about the drink, so it was a passive-aggressive approach. Nonetheless, I shook it off. When it was time to order, I found out I was given an old menu, so what I thought I was going to get wasn't available. Okay, no big deal I thought. I told the waitress I needed additional time to look at the correct menu, and at first she was going to wait to put in my friends order, I told her no, we had already been waiting so please put their order in. I finally put my order in for the safari steak strip, MEDIUM temp. My food came out, the waitress laughed about how she even brought me a steak knife. I could barely cut the steak bc it was so tough on the outside, they overcooked the outside of the steak! I was chewing for a long time on one-piece, even the people i was with noticed it and acknowledged how tough the steak was. I told the waiter that i didnt want it at that point and she told me I could only have a new one cooked or order something else, they wouldnt take it off my bill. She stated this multiple times. I asked to see a menu, because now where is this in writing that I can not return the food and opt not to pay for something that I can not eat, plus with the other small things that happened, I wasnt comfortable ordering anything else. I asked for the manager. The manager arrived, asked what was going on and I explained everything again. He stated, arent you hungry? I told him I ate some of the spinach ( which wasnt good btw but was included with the steak) and he could just charge me for that. When it was time to pay, there was no bill for me, as I was told by the waitress I wasn't going to be responsible. Now all of sudden there is coincidentally an overcharge of $45 on my account, again, I only charged my card at the bar. Imagine how many people they may have did this to and didn't even notice because they don't really check their account details?!! This is true THEFT!! My account was charged $71.12. I checked the menu, and the steak was $45, so I definitely feel as though this was intentionally done. BEWARE!!!! P.s. I can't say anything good, because this has outweighed everything

Yelp
Good for drinks IF there is street parking, other than that I'd pass on this spot. $10 valet, then there is a service fee on top of that (which is the tip) and that is fine I just don't like being forced to choose how much to tip. The service was very very slow which was odd and it being close to empty (a week night). The bread was the best dish I had which was free and the drink was great. Paid $35 for chicken and rice, the lobster mac n cheese was $37. Not sure what the process is behind the price is but it doesn't make sense. The chicken didn't have much flavor in it unfortunately to back up the $35. Other than that it's a nice spot to take pictures and have Instagram moments if you care about that.

Yelp
My first time visiting Verdure and must say I was super excited to try their food. Upon entering Verdure, the atmosphere is very welcoming and the hostess was very welcoming/warm. We ordered a quick cocktail from the bar and must admit the lychee martini was made perfectly! One thing I think that can hurt a business is poor drinks, food & service. Bartenders were very warm, easy on the eyes lol and extremely versed in what they were making. We ordered more drinks throughout dinner because the cocktails were so nicely made and that's coming from a bartender of 10+ years. Once we got to our table, our waitress was very friendly, welcoming and attentive. They started us off with bread which was delicious. We ordered additional cocktails and went straight for appetizers (Oysters, Octopus and the Roots dish). The appetizers were AMAZING and especially the Octopus. It was charred and seared so well I could have and should have had it for my entree as well. So well prepared. We eventually ordered another round of cocktails and our entrees. We had the fish, chicken, lamb chops and steak. Wait time between appetizers and entrées was literally an hour. I understand everything is made to order, however I expect this to be the standard. The entrees weren't as delicious as the appetizers, not well seasoned. The steak, fish and lamb were cooked great just was missing that love that the appetizers had. The chicken my friend mentioned was dry and needed a sauce. Overall we had a great experience and I would highly recommend Verdure to anyone reading this and my friend/family.

Yelp
We pre ordered. Took almost an hour 2 get drinks and almost 2 to get food. They left off part of the order and the server basically had the nerve to tell us that they had parties we didn't know about. I guess if yall knew about them yall shoulda been staffed properly. I'm so pissed off cuz 3 hours in and my child doesn't have pasta. The taste of most of the well the shrimp plantain was good and the fork of chicken I ate was ok. Too pissed to eat. Terrible experience. Hope yall fare better and hope they improve. Hopefully this is just an isolated incident but I'll never come back. EVER. I don't even wanna drive by.

Yelp
Enjoyed a weeknight dinner at Verdure. This west African inspired restaurant has a beautiful cozy interior making it great for group meals or more intimate meals. Reservations are a must and there is limited bar seating. I parked at valet, but there appeared to be limited street and metered parking. The restaurant is on the pricier side. Drinks start at $15 and dishes around $35. We enjoyed the bread service, plantains, steak, and branzino. They also have many large sides and vegetarian options. The staff was friendly, but it did feel like we were always being upsold. We also Ordered Brussels without bacon and bacon was there. The spot is relatively new so assuming just kinks to workout. Would return!

Yelp
First impressions of Verdure is that the decor is stunning and sets the mood throughout the restaurant. Very sexy, grown and tropical vibes. There is a dress code - cocktail attire is what most people wore. Came to dinner with a group of friends that live in MIA that are part of the Yelp MIA team. We ordered a variety of menu items. Our server was pleasant and explained that food would take a while to come out because the restaurant was at capacity for dinner. He brought bread service. The passion fruit margaritas were really good. All of the cocktails were aesthetically pleasing. We went with the fried octopus for an appetizer. This was my first time having octopus so I don't have anything to compare it to. The flavor was good but I found it to be very chewy. For the main course I had the lamb chops. Listen - those things were full of flavor! I was very satisfied! It came with a side of red rice that I wasn't a fan of. It was a bit dry to me. The branzino was also really delicious! Lobster Mac was decent. The small amount of lobster surprised me though. Brussel sprouts were a great side option! Overall we would go back when it's less busy. We were there for at least 3 hours total due to the food taking so long to come out the kitchen.

Yelp
First of all - let's get this out of the way. This isn't African food - or at least what I had wasn't African. I'm Nigerian, lived in NYC for 11 years and had plenty of African cuisine including Senegalese, Ghanaian, Somali, Ethiopian, South African. This ain't it. But that said, the food is good - a tad on the salty side and very overpriced. I would come back for my appetizer - fried octopus - very nice textures and flavor profile. I wouldn't come back for the Senegalese chicken yassa - way too salty and really it just tasted like chicken smothered in too much gravy, NOT like yassa. Like everyone has said the ambiance is gorgeous....very insta-worthy. Street parking is easy - so save your $10.

Yelp
Located in a secluded location in condominium is little gem. As you walk through the doors, you will feel like you're in a garden. At first, it took a minute for us to get a server as the host did not inform the server in our section. However, a wonderful individual came to our rescue and made the dining experience smooth and amazing. He gave us wonderful recommendations and was able to answer all of our questions. We had the octopus and Brussel sprouts for our appetizers. Let me just say that they were both super delicious! The octopus was pan seared to perfection accompanied by this creamy corn puree. The Brussel sprouts were the perfect balance of sweet and salty. Flash-fried and cooked with diced pork that made the whole dish wonderful. For the main course, I had the steak with sautéed spinach and mashed potatoes. Now I will admit, they did overcook my steak the first time around, but it quickly remedied. It was tender and juicy and seasoned to perfection. The spinach was just ok... nothing too fancy or special. It was clear that the chef meant for the steak to be the star of the show. For a cocktail, I had the kiwi passion margarita. The presentation was beautiful , and I hated to disturb it. All in all, it was a great dining experience with good food and excellent service. Highly recommend.

Yelp
My partner and I was so impressed by Verdure the first time we dined. We came back yesterday and had the total opposite experience. The $10 valet cost to park my own car, the horrible service by our waiter (he continued to rush our meal when the restaurant was empty) the burned crab cakes and over priced lamb chops on top of I ordered a cocktail, the server brought me the wrong one and insisted that I pay for it. Well $200 later for two and I didn't order an entree additionally on top of the $35 service charge. This was not a dining experience. It was a money trap with sub par food. With this kind of service, this place won't last long! It's a shame

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant with gorgeous interior design. The staff was friendly and knew the menu well. The food was delicious and well seasoned. Valet or self park. Drinks were Gael prepared. I had 2 apps, 2 drinks, 1 entree and 1 dessert. With gratuity about $30. My total was $170.

Yelp
Ambiance is cool. Service was mediocre and slow and I wouldn't return for this reason. I enjoyed the prawns - the lamp chops were flavorless until waiter brought out a flavor trio that added a necessary kick to food. I loved my espresso martini and I got two! Desserts were terrible as they all tasted savory.

Yelp
Came here solo for my birthday dinner and enjoyed it greatly! I had a reservation and was seating right away. My server Jeremy arrived and was upbeat and helpful. The complimentary bread is soo good it's hard not get full on that! I ordered the skirt steak and it was cooked perfectly. I added a side of mashed potatoes that complimented it well. They also treated me to a birthday crème brûlée! I would absolutely come back here or recommend it.

Yelp
The restaurant is beautiful! Parking is 10 dollars. Drinks are amazing. That was the main thing me and my friends all agreed that the drinks were amazing ! The food is good but it's definitely an acquired taste with the different seasonings. It's prob like a 7/10 on food. The waitress is amazing and was able to answer all of our questions. My steak and a friend's chicken past was good. The fish was ok but I think it's just a different type of seasonings that we were not use. The restaurant is more oh the pricier side. But def recommend it for drinks and nice cute classy vibe.

Yelp
I met a friend at Verdure the other evening. Safe to say I will not be returning. The issues: a valet costing $10, still water costing $8.00 (surprise!), basic cocktails running upwards of $18, music so loud we had to raise our voices to hear each other, and inattentive bar service (taking over 20 mins to get cocktails during a not-at-all busy week night. On the other hand, the servers were very pleasant and were trying really hard. My dish (mussels) were tasty. But for the expense and over-all experience, I will not be returning.

Yelp
i visited this restaurant a while back, we were running late to our reservation and they stayed open to receive us past their closing time. we were the only ones in the whole restaurant and the server was polite plus the food came out quick. the bartender was already out for the night so we weren't able to order the drinks we wanted, but overall i enjoyed my experience and would love to come back on a regular day to really experience the vibe and ambiance.

Yelp
FYI 20% gratuity added to all checks Thank God for instagram and for Verdure ! We arrived and it is such a cute place with valet parking. We were greeted and sat immediately- we made reservations online. The atmosphere is romantic and the drinks are delicious and strong - hubby ordered the old fashioned (2) and I ordered the coconut margarita and the tequila and honey. All were great ! We had the okra, gamba and Brussel sprouts as an appetizer. For our main entrees we ordered ribeye, lamb chops and the lobster Mac ! Yummy - it is definitely a little over priced but the atmosphere and the drinks make up for it so spurge - FYI 20% gratuity added to all checks

Yelp
Loved loved loved this place! The ambiance, the decor, the food, the service - all phenomenal. From the time we were greeted at the door until we left, just an A+ experience. We tried a few things but the seabass was exquisite. Our favorite part was the bartender, Bosa. He was amazingly attentive even on a busy Saturday night. And the drinks...I just can't say enough great things. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
I had the most amazing time at Verdure! From the cocktails to the food to the amazing decor- you will love this spot!! The ambiance in the restaurant was so beautiful- leaves flowing around the restaurant and beautiful seating and lights. There was also a man playing jazz all night which was amazing! We loved the theme of this restaurant nestled next to Piedmont Park. The food was delicious- absolutely loved the Crispy Octopus, Burrata and the Lamb Chops!! These flavors explode in your mouth. This makes for a great spot to grab a drink with friends.

Yelp
My fiancée and I had a chance to check out Verdure for Saturday night date night! It is a new hot spot that we heard about so definitely wanted to experience it. They have valet parking for $10 or street parking. We made reservations so we were seated promptly. The first thing we noticed was the decor that creates a grown and sexy ambiance! It was really nice! Our waiter was really good and provided recommendations. I ordered the corpse reviver and the lobster mac&cheese. Both were good. I would say that the food could use a little more flavor. It wasn't bad but I was expecting more flavor wise. It was a good dining experience overall and would recommend.

Yelp
We've been looking for a good African restaurant and this place did not disappoint! We were seated quickly with a reservation on a weeknight. There's valet outside for ten dollars, and street parking as well. The decor on the inside is stunning and perfect for pictures, I see why they have events! Our server Ashara immediately welcomed us with some great recommendations. We tried the espresso martini and a passion fruit kiwi mocktail, both were delicious (and love that all the drinks can be made as mocktails!). For appetizers we had the brussel sprouts without bacon, the sauce was delicious! Plus the smoked and sea, and hummus with lots of fresh vegetables. Our entree were a special veggie plate and lamb chops! No room for dessert but will definitely be back

Yelp
ambiance: 10 out of 5 stars service: 5 out of 5 entrees: 5 out of 5 menu accuracy: 1 out of 5 the pastry basket from the brunch menu came with what tasted like Publix pastries and leftover bread from last night's dinner service with a side of jelly straight out of a Smuckers jar. oh and zero muffins. meanwhile the menu states: assorted pastry basket, featuring freshly baked croissants. pain au chocolat, and two types of muffins served with butter and jam.

Yelp
Finally tried Verdure Kitchen and Cocktails, and it was well worth the wait! The restaurant first of all is so gorgeous and the service was outstanding, thanks to a knowledgeable waitstaff - big shoutout to Jeremy, our server who nailed it. Surprisingly, the crispy fried octopus and crème brûlée became unexpected favorites. The octopus dish was incredibly fresh, and the crème brûlée had the perfect balance of sweetness. The lamb chops were a standout, my absolute favorite. Limited street parking, but they offer valet for $10. Can't wait to return soon! Appetizers: Crispy Fried Octopus Crispy Lardon Brussel Sprouts Drinks: Lavender Berry Cocktail Corpse Reviver Entree: Safari Steak Strip Zanzibar Roasted Lamb Rib Chops Dessert: Tigernut Crème Brûlée Give it a try and let me know your thoughts!

Yelp
Arrived at 7:30, ordered drinks, ordered apps and dinner within 1/2 hour...kitchen finally sent our food at 9:40. Other patrons came, ordered, ate, left and we still didn't have food. NOT busy, 1 large table of 9 and all other tables of 2 with multiple waitstaff and separate bartenders. Decent food once served. Rushed to eat as they cleaned around us. Not worth the wait. Definitely not worth sitting there all evening wondering where our food is. Waiter decent, kept looking for our food... nope!!
