"ViceVersa is an Italian aperitivo bar where servers have a sixth sense for when you’re on the last three sips of your drink. Expect fantastic Neapolitan pizzas, crudo, gelato, and a family tree of negroni variations with ice cubes clear enough to read a novel through. The space is versatile enough for pizza dates at a table or a quick round of sbagliatos (served in comically large glasses) before a concert. But it’s probably best not to make concrete plans after—ViceVersa is so fun you’ll just want to cancel them and make this your entire night. Reservations for ViceVersa’s (tiny) dining room are available on Resy 30 days in advance. It’s not hard to find a weekday reservation at a decent hour. For a Saturday night table, just book a week or so in advance. But if you suffer from chronic spontaneity and want to walk in, the bar is all first come, first served. You’ll definitely have to wait for a table. But, you can order drinks from ViceVersa and enjoy them in the hotel lobby while you wait. It's top-notch people watching." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino
"With all of the wonderful pizzas and crudos on this menu, ViceVersa’s two salads have some stiff competition. But you should order both. If you’ve ever been tempted to shred a bunch of cheese directly into your mouth, then the caesar is for you. But our favorite is the fennel salad. It’ll burrow itself into the crannies of your porous little soul when it hits the table. It’s covered in piave vecchio cheese, with a dressing that’s delightfully heavy on pickling juice. It does a great job of preparing your stomach for all of the dough you’re about to shovel down. Reservations for ViceVersa’s (tiny) dining room are available on Resy 30 days in advance. "ViceVersa’s cocktails have an Italian soul, and while we love everything here (especially the sbagliatos served in the same oversized glasses as the Italian bar that invented the drink), the menu revolves around a miraculously good Negroni worthy of making employees sign NDAs. Happy hour runs Tuesday through Friday from 5-7pm, but this spot should also be your pre-concert dinner when seeing any sort of show in Downtown. The pizzas are fluffy masterpieces, but make a reservation because everyone will have the same idea. Reservations for ViceVersa’s (tiny) dining room are available on Resy 30 days in advance. "ViceVersa’s soundtrack is peppy enough to keep your energy levels high, the Negronis will keep conversation flowing, and the buzzing servers in cool clothes will ensure your glass doesn’t stay empty for longer than .06 seconds. The least sexy thing about this Italian apertivo bar is the hotel lobby you have to traverse to get here. Thankfully, things only go up from there. If you’re seeing a concert or game anywhere Downtown, this is where you want to start the night. And only order the mortadella pizza if it’s true love. It’s the only way you’ll survive a fight for the last slice. Reservations for ViceVersa’s (tiny) dining room are available on Resy 30 days in advance.
