After a delicious dinner at the Pit, a well known and liked BBQ restaurant across the street from Videri, we needed some coffee to put a little pep in our step and keep the night flowing. Not only did they have a full espresso bar, but also an extensive list of pour overs, cold brew, sipping coco and more. Our group all got some variation of a latte which came out super creamy, foamy and delicious. We all felt so fancy drinking expensive hipster coffee (pinkies up) in an old, historic chocolate factory after just stuffing faces with ribs and taters, not 30 minutes ago. The Videri environment, the craft roast variations, Sinatra in the background. it all felt so lovely and European, even.
On a Saturday night around 8 pm the line was almost out the door, however it moved very quickly and many ordered to-go leaving lots of seating options for groups of 2-6. I did a little walk through of the chocolate factory in the back. They had plaques by each machine talking about the process and the history behind this particular facility. Out front they sold many chocolate gift options and locally made cards, with my favorite design being a watercolor of the Videri building itself. Prices were average, and the quality of their products makes you feel like you get what you paid for.
I would love to come back and taste more chocolates and coffees here sometime. It's a lovely, indoor post-dinner setting for small groups. It's located right next to a delicious craft brewery called Crank Arm, and across the street from the famous Boxcar Arcade. There is some street parking around the block but if you're coming at a busy time you'll most likely have to pay to park in the lots. I believe we paid $10 for 3 hours; not ideal but worth having the car right there next to us when it's pouring down rain.
