"Derby City’s longest-standing Vietnamese restaurant is tucked into a south Louisville strip mall. Founded in 1993 by Vietnamese immigrant Alex Lam, who passed the business to his son Phillip in 1992, the nondescript eatery features a wide ranging menu including appetizers, noodle soups, rice dishes, vermicelli noodles, and vegetarian options. Regulars have their favorite orders memorized by their corresponding codes on the menu. Try the K8, or hu tieu sa-te, a spicy bowl featuring rice noodles in a broth infused with lemongrass, broccoli, bean sprouts, and peanuts, served with a choice of chicken, pork, or beef. To ease the fire of the spice, order a Vietnamese iced coffee." - Lennie Omalza

Truly loved everything! I highly recommend getting the “pork egg rolls” we had gotten them twice because they were so yummy especially with the sauce it had came with, great atmosphere and workers were wonderful. This is definitely a go to fun place to try something new!

Tried this place the other day and had a mixed experience. The food here is really good! My dumplings & shrimp stir fry were both amazing. However, dining area is pretty compact and it was very busy on a Saturday evening. My friend & I finished eating and were chatting for all of 5 minutes after having our table cleared when the food runner guy asked us if we were, “waiting on a to-go order or something?” We said no, and he said, “Oh okay well there are a lot of people waiting to be seated,” and walked away. Basically telling us to gtfo. Extremely rude and not a good way to treat your customers. We were there for maybe an hour tops. When we got up to leave a server apologized profusely so maybe not this guys first time being rude to diners. Maybe it would be less stressful for the employees if they had people wait in their cars & texted/called when tables are ready vs. their current method of having everyone who’s waiting for a table stand in the front of the room staring down everyone who is already seated.

A Louisville staple. Warms my heart (and my stomach) to visit this wonderful place. I adore the K8 (Satay noodle soup) which is spicy and complex. I also love the fish in a clay pot. The pineapple curry is delicious too. And the dumplings. Honestly, you can’t go wrong!

Finally I managed to try almost the original Vietnamese Pho (Noodle soup), the others that I tried in the US are a bit different, they accommodated to fit the taste of the locals. This one was interesting, the main difference is the meat and also the soup, I like it generally. The place was crowded and had some old style.

I would also love to say this is a hidden gem, but it is award winning, very popular and has a great origin story. We just happened to find it by pure dumb luck. The food was beautifully plated, delicious and fast service. We ordered the turnip cake, "spring rolls", a mild noodle dish, yellow curry and a 3 hot pepper rated, vegan noodle dish that were all amazing! The staff were very sweet and efficient. Make time if you are in the mood for Vietnamese food.

As a vegetarian and vacation it sometimes hard to find great food. This was amazing, and tons of locals were there so you know it's good food.
