"Keep an eye out for the small sign hanging above the door of this discreet restaurant on a cobbled Old Town street, otherwise you might walk right on by. From the outside, its whitewashed walls give it something of a residential look, which is matched inside by an elegantly low-key dining room where seven linen-laid tables and comfy chairs set a homely tone. The surprise menu sees texture and acidity used to good effect in creative, sophisticated dishes; some are inspired by the owners’ childhood memories, such as the traditional pork, cabbage and lingonberry, which is elevated into a very personal dish." - Michelin Inspector

The 22 Best Restaurants in Malmö, Sweden | Eater

"At Vollmers, nostalgia meets innovation, and the local obsession with produce grown holistically and close-to-home culminates. This two-Michelin-starred restaurant in the middle of the old town transforms basic ingredients into something refined while honoring the flavors and heritage of the Skåne region. Summer and fall are standout seasons to visit, as the produce is at its very best. Dishes such as sweet corn with chanterelles and Havgus cheese or traditional den hvide dame cake served alongside lilacs and lemon verbena reflect Vollmers’ flair for blending classic flavor combinations with the unexpected. The dishes are not necessarily the most groundbreaking, but the kitchen’s confidence shines through in the soulful yet technique-driven cooking. Expect extreme seasonality as well as fine dining takes on Swedish classics. [$$$]" - Alisa Larsen

Definitely worth it when you don't need a cheeseburger after from McDonald's. 🤣 Jokes aside, food was good and the flavours were impeccable. Staff were friendly and made sure I had a great time too.

Aim for the stars! 2 star michelin, worth every second of the visit. If you have the chance and opportunity, go there and spend an evening, both for your iwn sake and for those who will go with you. It was spotless and fantastic.

Malmö’s Michelin two stars restaurant. Nice setting, even if a bit cold, but luminous. Very friendly (in a good polite and helpful way) service all along. On the food and cuisine side, ambition is to promote local products, which is good, but unfortunately end up in lot of reuse of f the same ingredients, and hence lack of tastes diversity, and textures variety. Beautiful dressings, really great service, but on the food side, good but not unique or bringing emotions enough for a two stars alas.

Google
If we are comparing Vollmers to most restaurants than it is easily 5 stars. However compared to other two star michelin restaurants it really did not wow me. Prior to eating at Vollmers I ate at Flor in Amsterdam which really impressed me as a cut above your standard one star michelin restaurant. I was not left with the same impression here. Nevertheless amazing food, amazing service and amazing atmosphere. Highly recommended if you're in Malmo.

We had dinner at Vollmers with friends. We are from Texas and traveled to Copenhagen and Malmo to explore some tasting menus. We were very impressed with this restaurant. The food, service, wine and atmosphere were excellent. The pairings were on point. Highly recommend.

Reason enough to travel to Malmö! Excellent food, some dishes are at 3* level, all ingredients locally sourced. Excellent service. Great wine list. We’ll worth the price!

Truly amazing night. Took 3 hours to enjoy the experience. every course was both beautiful and delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant. Price of the meal was affordable compared to the States.

Even though 5 stars might be for granted given the level of haute cuisine, it still amazes me how everything was truly fantastic. From the attentive yet genuine and talkative staff, to the nice mellow French music, to the interior so minimalistic but warm. Then the food, 7 main dishes preceded and followed by a series of smaller samples that really showcased the range of creativity in the kitchen. A total of 18 different explosive combinations. A special praise for the focus on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. So hard to pick a favorite dish, in each of them something was truly a memorable experience, may that be an unconventional pairing, a texture, an aftertaste. Really impressive. Expensive but worth it.

Yelp
I am fortunate enough to be able to come back to this extraordinary yet low-key venue within a year from my previous visit. The food continued to be exquisite and presenting creativity while showcasing locally sourced ingredients. Great to taste new items in addition to their regular/standard dishes. I can easily have the potato soup and 100 year bread for lunch any day of a week for sure! :) The service remained excellent - those three servers had individual characters which provided professional, elegant, yet warm and friendly service throughout the course. As I described in my first review, they treat you as if you were invited to their personal residence. I wasn't aware they were extremely busy that evening due to group/function booking in the other section, but they did not show any signs of that. They still allowed me to say quick hello to the executive chef in the kitchen. I'll look forward to returning again!

Yelp
The flavor of everything was well paired and amazing. The only downside side was everything was a bit overly salty, but we told our waitress and the second half of the set menu was great.

Yelp
Vollmers, which has a great origin story (ask about their hanger logo) genuinely deserves its worth-a-detour 2-Stars. Food, service, ambience are exceptional. Extensive wine list has many great finds for under $100. The co-owner sommelier really knows her stuff. Pricey but easily worth it.

Yelp
Prior to my experience at Vollmers, the closest I had ever been to a Michelin star restaurant was when I read and watched The Hundred-Foot Journey (preferred the book to the movie remake, but I digress...). The restaurant had recently received its star, which was cool to be there shortly after this recognition. It was a first-class experience all the way. The staff warmly greeted us and helped us take off our coats. The restaurant is small and cozy, and they had a large table waiting for our party of 8. They checked for any allergy/food preferences and were respectful of that as the courses were served. The chefs brought out each course, describing it in detail. Each course was artfully presented. The evening was immensely enjoyable, the food fresh and inventive, the staff warm and welcoming. If you find yourself in or near Malmo, seek out Vollmers as it is more than worth it!

Yelp
They bring in seasonal pottery to match their dishes i.e. presentation is fantastic. The servers are multilingual, they know their dishes and their wine pairings i.e. service is fantastic. The chefs prepare phenomenal and delicious dishes i.e. food is fantastic. Their vegetarian alternatives to their prix fixe 5-course or 8-course mostly amounts to omitting the meat for some of the dishes but also had substitutions for a few. This was a suboptimal solution in my opinion. It's not cheap... but it's spectacular.

Yelp
Ok so, I get it Where do I start? This can turn into a novel I.m going to summarize the food and say it.s magnificent Presentation, flavors, temperature, textures, design, etc... Even the way it lands on the table by the synchronized staff.. I bet the staff is trained for a month to be profesional and perfect Everything is so pristine Ok so back to the Vollmers It is an experience They have an incredible tactic It's a silent food theater treatment I left impressed because of everything my brain experienced visually and what my taste buds had to say... I can't explain it Would I do it again? Hell yeah Is it worth the price? Yes

Yelp
Vollmers is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. There is taken care of every little detail; the service is knowledgable in guiding you through the experience and very friendly, the food and its presentation are at very high level, they only use local (Scandinavian) fresh ingredients, the pottery is costume made for every dish, and the list goes on. My girlfriend and I took the trip from Copenhagen to visit Vollmers, and we are already tempted to revisit. Mind you the prices are higher than what most people usually pay for a meal. But if you're looking for more than a meal, Vollmers is an experience at a very reasonable price!
