The food was good, the customer service was not.
I was rather disappointed because I was really excited about trying the vurger. It's important to note that I go out of my way to always be polite, especially to anyone working in a hot ass truck on a hot ass day (my stepmother owns a food truck and I worked at said food truck back in the day from time to time. I understand the struggle). So receiving that kind of customer service, to no fault of my own, is sucky.
In order to leave a review with constructive feedback, my suggestions are for them to list on their truck menu the two kinds of the "cane sugar" drinks available or at the very least have the girl taking orders say something to customers who order it so that they know. Unless I'm completely blind, I didn't see any specifications about this on the menu and the girl did not mention it. Another suggestion would be that she work on her vocal delivery. She seemed to not want to be there. It wouldn't hurt to be more welcoming, or idk... smile or something, since she is the first person the customer sees. Additionally, using your inside voice outside, when you are at an event that is BLASTING music, and then looking annoyed when someone asks you to please repeat yourself because they can't hear you is counterproductive.
Moving on. So, I approached the truck after waiting 30 mins for my food to let them know I had not received my drink. The girl that took my order quickly points at my friend and exclaimed "I gave it to your friend!" in an almost accusatory manor. Except she didn't give it to my friend because whatever drink my friend had wasn't what I ordered, so I didn't assume it was mine. I let them know that wasn't what I ordered, and we returned the drink (which mind you, had something floating in it. Idk what the drink was so idk if that was on purpose or what). At that point, the man with the hat (who I'm pretty sure is the CEO) intervenes and asks what drink I want. I say the cane sugar drink. He says "yeah, which drink", and I repeat myself, because like I mentioned, it's not clear that there is more than 1 to choose from. Instead of explaining this, the man raises his voice at me and asks me again which one I want. Raising your voice at a customer that is clearly confused because of a lack of clarity on YOUR menu and from YOUR employee is insane. So I smiled, holding back a laugh, because it felt ridiculous that such a minor misunderstanding could make an adult speak like that to a stranger, much less one who is supporting your business and being polite to you. Anyway, he FINALLY says they have two different kinds of the soda, he gives it to me, and I leave. Only to sit down to eat and notice they also didn't provide the sauce I requested for my vurger/fries. Nice.
With that said, my last suggestion is maybe try not to get frustrated when a customer is clearly not understanding. It would take you no more than 8 seconds to say "Apologies, we have 2 versions of that soda and the flavors are ____ & ____. Which would you like?"
All in all, I'm sure I'll see this food truck again but I'd rather eat a jean jacket than order here and have someone be rude to me for no reason again.
