Wake and Late Review - Downtown LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Wake & Late is a daytime walk-up window in DTLA specializing in breakfast burritos, serving five different kinds of burritos and some —and nothing else. The steak burrito is our move here: it involves medium-rare sirloin (less salty than their pastrami burrito), plus avocado, grilled onions, pepper jack, fluffy scrambled eggs, and as many tater tots as a middle school lunch plate. Their tangy house hot sauce on the side is excellent, and the vegetarian version is also a winner. Our only complaint is that despite the quality, it's not a large burrito for the price. So if you're just looking for some protein and potatoes to fill you up, this might not be your place. They also have a second location in Pasadena that's equally casual." - Garrett Snyder

I am visiting from out of town and I noticed a love/hate relationship from the reviews. I decided to give it a try. The bacon burrito was delicious with plenty of crunchy bacon, cheese, egg, and avocado. It tasted fresh and made to order. I would definitely recommend it. There are many comments about the prices. This place does not ask for tips (refreshing) and the price includes the food and the service. For about $20 (in California), they are not a "value meal", they are a quality meal. Don't let the negative comments sway you.

Google
Order the bacon burrito, add steak (must have) and pickled jalapeños! Thank me later! I moved to LA 5 years ago and wake and late was the first breakfast burrito I ever had here. It was amazing then and to this day it is still amazing. There used to only be a location downtown La but they have expanded a lot and now have locations in Hollywood, Pasadena, and I believe they are expanding to Marina Del Rey, and West Hollywood. I have tasted all of the locations and the taste, flavors and experience is consistent. Today’s experience at the Pasadena location stood out above all. I dined in and Bruce Lee let me try their fresh bagels and cream cheese it is now a must add to my order going forward! The bagel almost tasted like an Auntie Ann’s pretzel but the honeycomb cream cheese was the star of the show! Not too sweet but very tasty! We also got the fresh orange juice and the iced matcha which are very good but the price of drinks is around $7. While people complain about the overall price and portion size of the food I think the taste is well worth the price and I’ve never been able to finish my whole burrito in one sitting by myself it is very filling! I don’t think the drinks are worth the price but they are good. I also got the cinnamon roll to try it, it was flaky and buttery like a croissant but you can probably pass on that. It’s good if you really are in the mood for it but it may be a little overwhelming. Overall I hate seeing people do “Top burrito in La” videos and not having Wake and Late as #1. Those other burrito’s may have lower price but I tried them all and they are disappointing comparatively. I know for a fact you won’t find a better burrito in La! It’s consistently delicious!

Google
Overpriced, tiny, and not the best tasting burritos. I personally like burritos more fresh and less greasy… and prefer a salsa vs the cream cilantro sauce. Worth a try but wouldn’t recommend and never going back because there are way better spots that don’t have marketing hype.

Google
I’ve been coming to this location since they opened! Super nice staff and burritos and bagels are some of the best I’ve ever had. Our fav order is steak burrito and the parm and sweet onion bagel. Yes, it’s a bit pricey but I think the food and service are worth it!! Will be going back again and again. My only complaint is that we miss the chocolate bagel and strawberry dip!! I also want to get that Orange Julius from Eeeeeatscon again too!

Candie S Brown

Google
These are really good, high quality breakfast burritos. They are not your typical oversized burritos, so if you're looking for that don't come here. Yes, they are expensive but you can taste the quality ingredients and they are not greasy at all. The packaging is super cute and you have a couple options for sauces. I got the steak (carne asada) burrito with the cilantro cream and it's so good!! Definitely a splurge, but well worth it. I ordered via the Toast app and walked in to pick up. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Very large open air space that has plenty of tables if you want to dine-in as well. Happy they're in the neighborhood!

Google
Just the like rest of the reviews say, it’s a good tasting burrito but definitely not worth the price. Saw this place on instagram and decided to bring my wife on our way home to Arizona. We paid almost $60 for two burritos, an orange juice and a matcha. I ordered the bacon burrito, the tater tots were crispy throughout the burrito as was the bacon, the eggs were fluffy and the tortilla was great too, but the size of the burritos is the problem. They are small and not worth the price but do taste good. That was my only issue with it. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and was super refreshing.

Google
I just wanted something quick to eat so I thought to order a bagel. Much to my surprise I was told you the owner has a two bagel minimum policy! This is my first time ever experiencing that, it doesn’t make any sense to me since I only want one bagel. So I had to pay $7 for a bagel with cream cheeses. With an ice chai we spent $24. That’s simply crazy. The atmosphere is really weird. The place is huge, but it’s they have tiny outdoor tables with mismatch chairs. Loud house music more fit for a gym than a restaurant. All the employees were really nice but sort of just standing around talking to each other. I was in a rush and I will tell you this is not a place that rushes!

HEAR ME OUT! Exclusively on the Weekend: Cinnamon Roll! The cinnamon roll is so freaking glorious. You must think who the heck is paying $9 for a cinnamon roll. This cheapo foodie will be going forward. With one bite, you will realize Wake & Bake's cinnamon roll isn't ordinary but it's a croissant cinnamon roll. It is layers of buttery goodness and perfectly sweet. This is something you hoard to yourself because you want it all. It's already a swirl of goodness of butter, sugar and cinnamon but add in that croissant factor, ahhhh the dream. As I was describing my new love for the cinnamon roll croissant, Naomi the branch manager added to our conversation how all the ingredients are high quality and how long it took their team to perfect their new croissant. I was impressed. It's $9 and yeah $9 of PERFECTION.

Yelp
Amazing service from Bruce and Emma makes this spot shine. The steak burritos are packed with flavor and are excellent with the chipotle sauce, while the bagels with honeycomb and salmon butters are so good that we always wish we had ordered more. Great hospitality and standout food -- highly recommended!

Yelp
Let's start with the food... absolutely the best breakfast burrito I have ever had. Crispy potatoes inside., soft and perfectly cooked and avacado was so flavorful. Please try all three or the sauces I love cilantro and it does not disappoint. The space is also stunning and it was an old paper Company... and how do I know this? The SERVICE. MJ described every organic, sustainable detail from the food to the uniform they wear. Her enthusiasm was not only infectious but I was convinced she must be a part owner with how much she knew about the products. If you are looking for a perfectly portioned breakfast to start your day, do it here.

Yelp
You know this was tasty and super fresh but I'm feeling bad about the amount of waste I generated. We ate two burritos, steak and bacon and they were tasty'. We were promised burritos full of eggs cheese crunchy tots and meat with yummy sauces for dipping and they delivered. The burritos could be a little bigger for the price. Burritos were smaller than a tube of pillsbury dinner rolls if you know what I mean. The bagel we also ate was chewy and fresh, but devoid of a bagel hole. Tasty anyway. But with the price and size of the burrito and then two paper bags, plastic knife, 3 plastic cups and 2 cardboard burrito holders, aluminum foil, and 4 little plastic sauce tubs and napkins seems a bit excessive for the waste the meal generated for a dine in experience. I understand they don't want to have dishes and dishwashers but sheesh. Can you put the burrito in my hand for $9?

Yelp
This review is based on my visit on 7/12/25. A former colleague clued me in on their breakfast burritos, and I'm so glad she did. They don't mess around when it comes to breakfast. These burritos are STUFFED with crispy tater tots, eggs, your protein of choice (mine was bacon), and cheesy goodness. They come with a choice of two sauces - I chose the cilantro and chipotle - which were a banging combo. They had lots of other interesting items too - including bagels made with fermented dough. Too much goodness. This place is definitely worthy of a repeat visit.

Yelp
First, almost $20 for a burrito on the smaller end is INSANEEE!!!! That is until my friend and I bit into it, and it was flavorful, densely packed, and very saucy. Yes, it was a BOMB ASS BURRITO. And my friend will be coming back. There's a no tip policy, but the prices were still quite high (unless you have $$$$ then ignore what i said). Interior was kinda bland but just eat the burrito. Second, MJ is the G O A T!!!! Best service I've had in all my 21 years. It's as if they were born and grew up eating in this restaurant with how much knowledge they knew about every ingredient and backstory of every menu item. If not for the burritos, GO for MJ!!

Yelp
Massive space w high ceilings, mostly the kitchen w some small tables. Super excited to try their burritos and sauces. But pricy for small burritos but worth the try + Vegetarian burrito ($15 - $2 no avocado; cilantro crema and chipotle aioli): had avocado at home so saved $2! Didn't have it fresh so tots weren't crispy, but tortilla was doughy yet nicely toasted and everything was tightly wrapped, amazing with the cilantro crema. Chipotle aioli and hot sauce were nice options too (7.3/10) cilantro crema (9/10)

Yelp
As I continue to search the top breakfast burritos in So Cal, a friend recommended Wake and Late. With other locations, I chose the Pasadena location since it was the quickest to get to and I know I wouldn't have to deal with the DTLA traffic. I knew going in that it was going to be expensive. Let's be real...tortilla, eggs, potatoes and meat don't always = $18 burrito. Unfortunately this is the case, well, both cases as we got two burritos - Bacon and Steak. The service was fine as they were training a new cashier. We also ordered the matcha, but forgot to take a picture of it. Anyways, it wasn't that good and tasted like pineapple was added... Onto the burritos...for the price I was expecting something spectacular, but that wasn't the case. In all fairness, it was a good breakfast burrito but not $18 and $19. The bacon burrito had bacon bits, literally bacon bits. The potatoes were just chopped up, double-fried hash brown patties. Usually the sauce will make up for some of the losses, but it was just a hot sauce with a small kick. The steak burrito was similar with small pieces of beef, nothing special or flavorful. Lastly, the size of the burrito was not what I expected, especially for the price. If you were to ask me, the size of the burrito should be about $9.75 My suggestion is to lower the price by saving on some of the heavy, paper packaging we got for the two burritos and we dined inside. With such a large inside space, no wonder the burritos were so much. I thought I was at LAX. But hey, try it yourself and make your own assessment. Ambiance 9/10 Cleanliness 10/10 Service 10/10 Bathrooms N/A Food 8/10 Value 6/10 Will I Return? Probably not...For the price of the two burritos and the matcha...it just didn't justify...Sorry

Yelp
3.5 stars and I'm rounding up for the nice service and helpful staff. I barraged them with questions, and they kindly guided my choices. Disclaimer: I judge every breakfast burrito against Lucky Boy, btw. That's my standard-bearer. I enjoyed: - the Steak breakfast burrito @ $19 - Iced Vanilla Bean Latte with organic Oat milk @ $7.50 (better than your corporate coffee) - Cilantro crema - Chipotle aioli (vegan) Both sauces were tasty and neither was too spicy. The steak burrito was the way to go, and I would like to come back and try the bacon for $1 less. The tater tots inside are good and sort of set this burrito apart from others. This place was busy and I was still served quickly. I enjoyed the high ceilings and the spacious, light, open and airy dining area. Free water was available, too. Unfortunately, the size is what really sets this apart from other breakfast burritos I've enjoyed recently. The value is not there at this price point. Fun Fact: I saw Link from Rhett and Link (Good Mythical Morning) dining while I was here. To me, that's a sign of excellence.

Yelp
MJ is just amazing I normally come in but I didn't know that they closed today at 1:00 even though I was late. She informed me that there was going to be a new lunch menu to get ready for and she was so professional and so nice and so courteous and while she was talking to me she was sweeping the front and I was just like wow what a very professional, great experience I was able to have. Even though it wasn't amazing news that they were close. She made me feel like I got everything I went in there and more; the ambience was fantastic and it was very, very cool, cool and calm and comfortable. So I'll definitely look forward to coming back for the 100th time before they close. I'm so glad that they're in Pasadena now

Yelp
Heard great things about this being the best breakfast burrito in LA. I got the Steak and it was delicious - tender steak, crispy tater tots and scrambled eggs wrapped in a crispy tortilla. The thing that also completes this is the sauce - I got the Chipotle & Cilantro Crema. Both are amazing and fresh. The downside is the price being at $19 for a small portion small enough to fit my hand. Reason being 4/5 stars. The service was good, huge space although half of it was blocked off.

Yelp
We spotted this breakfast place off of TikTok and wanted to check it out! Parking: We parked at a near by public parking spot that you can just walk less than 5 min and pay when you get back, not too bad of price. (To NOTE: smaller burrito packed with flavor and made with the best ingredients = $$ Worth trying! ) We got the bacon burrito and although it may seem smaller than your usual burritos, it was packed with yummy ingredient's from top to bottom! I loved how each bite had every element especially the avocado. The 2 side sauces were super yummy and definitely complimented the burrito nicely. We had the chipotle and cilantro. Service was quick and easy for an in and out breakfast run. They had a nice setting area on the left side indoors for you to enjoy your meal if you wanted. Complimentary water and utensils. Overall, we enjoyed this breakfast gem! Definitely coming back and recommending!

Yelp
It's ridiculous how small the burritos are but how expensive they remain. The deliciousness doesn't outweigh the cost: one vegetarian and one steak burrito costs almost $40! Ridiculous.
google avatar

Yelp
Thought we would try the bacon burrito for real this time, and it was ... sooo good! Added the cilantro cream sauce. No line this morning and the service was great. Decided to eat here -- there was plenty of available seating.

Yelp
This is my favorite spot in the LA area to grab a breakfast burrito!! It's a little more expensive than your typical spot, but the quality of the ingredients more than makes up for it in my opinion. My go-to order is the grass-fed carne asada burrito. It's flavorful, perfectly cooked tender beef, and made with real care. And don't even get me started on the sauces. I love all of them, but the cilantro crema is my absolute favorite! I usually order ahead, and pick up is a breeze in terms of service. But feel free to sit down and enjoy your burrito while it's still warm and fresh! Ambiance is casual. Wake And Late is the kind of place you'll crave once you've tried it, and it's always worth a stop for me. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Love the bacon burritos here with cilantro crema on the side! Parking is on the street for free. Nice inside with ample seating! Service is always nice .
google avatar

Yelp
The good: the food is tasty, the green salsa was delicious, the inside has a great seating areas that is very spacious and doesn't feel stuffy. The bad: the size was pretty small. I don't typically finish my meals and usually have leftovers but here I didn't. I ate the whole thing and the burrito is about the size of my hand (which is small- like the size of an iPhone 16 pro). I got the vegetarian breakfast burrito but it seemed like all the burritos were that size. So if you want something filling, I don't think this would be a good option, however if you eat more than me and want a snack then this could be your spot! It took about 10-15 mins to get our food, which wasn't too bad bc we all ordered drinks and breakfast burritos. The service itself wasn't anything special but they were efficient for having a lot of patrons coming through
google avatar

Yelp
Wake and Late burritos are the best! These hefty burritos are packed with egg, tater tots, crispy bacon, and avocado! And their sauces? The perfect pairing -- the cilantro one is my favorite! The orange juice is freshly squeezed and so refreshing! Located in an industrial building, this spot is a Pasadena hidden gem! The staff is very kind and service is always quick despite how crowded it can get! Great for a casual quick breakfast!

Yelp
What I loved: a gluten free breakfast burrito option (so hard to find!!!), clean ingredients, SAUCES It's so hard to find burritos that are gluten free, so this was a total gem. I also love that they make it with high quality ingredients! the burrito is a good size, it's definitely nothing like other burritos but i think quality over quantity. sauces come on the side which is a bonus and the packaging is so cute! i definitely would return! i think it's more of a grab and go place so don't come here for a full sit down.

Yelp
So not to be dramatic or anything but if I could pick a last meal (breakfast edition), it would probably include the breakfast burritos at Wake and Late. I got the vegetarian burrito, and for about $15 it was pretty skinny at first glance. But don't be fooled! The size was actually a very satisfying portion. I'm in love with the super crispy tater tots and thin tortilla wrapping (which I've heard has been Michelin-recognized). The avocados were very fresh, the scrambled eggs were soft and fluffy, and the cheese melted so well inside the burrito. The way it all integrated inside the tortilla gave the entire burrito so much oomf. The two sauces they give out are chipotle aioli and cilantro crema. They really help add more flavor, but sometimes something simple is just better. Also, I've had many breakfast burritos growing up for camping trips, tournaments, school, etc., and this was like a piece of nostalgia for me, but maybe a slightly fancier version. When our orders were announced the servers always emphasized a variation of "Thank you [name]! Your burrito is ready." I think I just found this cute. Everyone needs to try these burritos at least once!
google avatar

Jessica G.

Yelp
Delicious burritos! Price is on the higher end.. $19 for a burrito that is slightly bigger than a hotdog bun. However it does fill you up! Their bagel and spread is also delicious! Service was great, friendly. Cute spot with high ceilings! Took over the old culinary school location and it has lots of space.

Yelp
Decide to stop by for a quick bite but didn't realize how quick it was going to be. Didn't get a picture because I had to devour the burrito before I sat and thought about it too much. It was so small. Definitely would have no problem doing the under 1.5 bite challenge. The interior was also giving factory. Food came in a paper box already so not very presentable. We ordered the steak breakfast burrito. Came out to be 21 dollars because tip is included already in the price. Don't know why when there really isn't much service provided. You pick up the food and sit yourself. Burrito was good and the sauces it came with were also tasty. But the burrito was so small. Especially for the price. No girth or length to it. So disappointing. Had to walk over to blaze after to get full.
google avatar

Yelp
Expensive and overpriced AF? Yes. Delicious AF? Also yes. These $20 burritos are tinyyyy but soooo good! For sure best breakfast burritos in the area. I've tried both the steak and bacon. Can't go wrong with either! The tots stay super crispy even if you don't eat it right away. The flour tortilla is bomb. Their cilantro crema is addictive (although I prefer spicier). High quality ingredients, neatly wrapped, packed with flavor. I love that it's so simple yet amazingly delicious. Nothing bad to say about the food! Is it worth the absurd price in this economy? No... but definitely worth trying at least once!

Yelp
This place has been on my to try list for quite some time and I finally bit the bullet! Food: I ordered their steak breakfast burrito and oh my goodness it was delicious! It comes with crispy tater tots, scrambled eggs, cheese, avocado, and (of course) steak, I personally would have preferred some more steak in the burrito as I felt that I got some bites without any steak in it but it was sill so tasty. The size of the burrito was perfect for me and very filling. Inside: There's plenty of seating inside the cafe but most of the tables are better suited for smaller parties (3 or less people). Price: Their prices are on the more expensive end as the steak burrito was $20. If you're planning on ordering something to eat and drink, I would expect to spend at least $20 for it all. Parking: There's plenty of street parking available for an hour. But there's also some paid parking lots available.

Yelp
One of my fav breakfast burritos This location specifically, the Pasadena one, is located inside what looks like an old bank- super aesthetic! I'm obsessed with the orange theme they have going on too They have a rather simple menu, but delicious. We got the steak breakfast burrito and the vegetarian breakfast burrito. Both were reallyyyy good!! I loved the steak one especially. It was flavorful, and I also liked the textures in the burrito like the satisfying crunch of the tater tots with the softness of the eggs and slight crispiness with the tortilla. We ALSO got their Rip & Dip bagels! I reallyyyy wish I took a photo of these, but we ended up saving them for later because we were so full and I forgot. We got one sweet onion bagel and one parm bagel, along with two of their whipped spreads- scallion and honeycomb butter. I was OBSESSED. The bagels were like huge balls and so fluffy inside. Since the spreads were seperate, we ripped prices of the bagel and dipped it in the spreads. I loved them. The scallion one was delicious, as it always is at other places too. The honeycomb butter was unique, but I'm so glad we were recommended it. It added a subtle sweetness to the bagel. We shared it with some others later and everyone loved them, even after hours of holding onto them! Overall, I would DEF recommend this place. It was soooo good

Yelp
I've heard about Wake and Late for awhile now and finally decided to see what the hype was all about. I got the steak burrito with the aioli and hot sauce - definitely a 10/10 for me! It's simple, but flavorful at the same time. The tater tots are crispy and the steak is seasoned well. I will say the sauces do make it taste better, but I do think it still tastes good alone. Will definitely get it again!

Yelp
Easily one of the tastiest breakfast burritos I've ever had. Don't let the reviews about size or price sway you--this spot clearly isn't aiming to please the fast-food crowd. You get what you pay for: high-quality ingredients, great flavor, and solid vibes. The staff is always friendly, and the space has a clean, modern feel. Only downside is the parking--be ready to hunt a bit.
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
I was going to leave a tip, but it seems that Yelp has gotten rid of the tip feature :( I finally made it down to Wake And Late within their business hours, stood in line behind 5 people, only to find out they don't offer bagels anymore, except for on the weekend. How sad! I'm only in Pasadena on the weekdays, so I guess no bagels for me.

Yelp
We initially came for the burritos, but I think I've discovered my new favorite bagels instead. The burritos were a pleasant surprise--they're much smaller than expected, about the size of a McDonald's breakfast burrito roll. For reference, I usually can only eat half a burrito at Lucky Boy, but here, I could easily finish one on my own. The addition of crunchy tater tots inside made a huge difference--they were really tasty. These burritos feel like an indulgent treat, perfect for an occasional splurge or for hosting out-of-town guests who want to try something unique. That said, I'll definitely be coming back for the bagels. There's a two-bagel minimum per order, but luckily, we came with two friends and got to share. We tried the Parmesan and sweet onion bagels, pairing them with scallion cream cheese and the honeycomb butter spread. The honeycomb butter was a standout--it had real chunks of honeycomb, and it was incredibly rich and delicious. The bagels themselves were soft, bouncy, and perfectly textured. I thought I'd found my favorite bagels during a recent trip to Montreal, but I'm thrilled to have this gem right in my own neighborhood. One start knocked off for the pricey burrito.

Yelp
Been here a couple times. First time I had the veggie burrito. 5/5. Second time I ordered the steak burrito and OJ. 5/5 Third time, shared a steak burrito and the plain bagel and parm bagel. 5/5 Service - super fast Ambience - casual spot with people working. 5/5 Is it a pricey burrito - yes. Is it the best quality burrito I've had - YES. I'm not looking for the world's largest burrito. Can I get a much cheaper burrito and larger burrito somewhere else, yes. But I would pick the burritos here, every time. Do you have to order 2 bagels at a time, yes. Is that annoying, yes. Do I end up eating both, yes.

Yelp
Solid breakfast burritos. I tried their bacon burrito and iced vanilla bean latte. Both were really good! The tater tots in my burrito were so crispy and I loved how the cilantro crema tied everything together. Portions were on the smaller side and the meat proportions could have been better, but it worked out for me since I wasn't that hungry. The coffee was well balanced and not too sweet. Would definitely come back!

Yelp
Small in size, but very quality ingredients and flavor in the steak breakfast burrito. I like to get the steak burrito with a latte or coffee on the side (usually coffee from another place though). The flavor and tenderness of the steak balance well with the crispy (non-greasy) tater tots, cheddar cheese, and the crispy burrito crust on the outside. I like the chipotle aioli side because that's less spicy than the cilantro crema. It is more pricey (~$40 for 2 steak burritos), but I think the quality makes up for it (for the most part). More of a special treat/weekend brunch for me than a multiple times a week thing. Looking forward to trying the bagels next time.

Yelp
3.83 stars. It's good but I don't think it's the best breakfast burrito in LA. I definitely think the mom and pop shops, Mexican restaurants, and diners make a more decadent burrito and bang for ur buck. The sauces are good however and I really enjoy the chipotle sauce, and the cilantro one is good too. It's fun to come here and say you tried it but honestly Lucky Boy's breakfast burrito is probably one of the best in LA in my opinion. HOWEVER the bagels are worth coming here to try! I really enjoyed the Parmesan one with scallion dip!! To summarize: Bagels delish! Burrito, good but not like wowza.

Yelp
Steak burrito: Tell me why for $20 there's so little steak... Anyways, it's solid, but I cannot justify the price for this burrito. Trust me it is good, it's just the fact that it's teeny tiny AND you don't get that much meat UGHHH Ambience: Lots of seating inside and it feels really open. It would be nice to get some work done here. Service: Wait wasn't long and they're nice lol

Yelp
Great breakfast burrito probably the best in LA. The price is a little high so that affects how I feel about this place.

Yelp
I was so excited to try Wake and Late as someone who recently moved here from NYC and loves bagels! At around 11am on Sunday there was a bit of a line that only seemed to pick up the longer we were there. However it does move quickly and the food came out fairly fast. We grabbed a table inside, and the interior of this building is so stunning! There's also a decent amount of seating which helps to accommodate the crowd. They do have a two bagel minimum which is kind of annoying, but it gave me an excuse to try two flavors! I opted for the parm and plain versions. The parm bagel had a very sharp cheesy taste that I honestly wasn't expecting, but it was the perfect savory item. The bagels are fluffy and salty, perfect for ripping and dipping into any of their spreads. The star of the show is certainly their delightful honeycomb butter, which does come in at a whopping $4 per little plastic container (but I do think it's worth it). My friend got the breakfast burrito which she really enjoyed, but found it to be pretty small for the price. Everyone was pretty friendly but it did feel chaotic at times, especially with the employees managing so many to go orders combined with those ordering at the register.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast burritos and bagels! Tip to avoid the wait: you can order online ahead of time and pick it up! Had a great experience with service-- when we were at the pick up counter the man that gave us our food asked if it was our first time and gave us a couple of extra sauces on the side for our burritos. The only thing I want to mention is I'm not sure how often I'd come back because it's $20 for a breakfast burrito and I've had bigger breakfast burritos for much cheaper. - Bacon burrito (5/5): The best burrito! The bacon wasn't too salty and the crispy hash browns inside are really what made the burrito. Would highly highly recommend the cilantro crema for any of the burritos. - Steak burrito (3.5/5): Steak wasn't salted enough when I ordered this burrito so it left me having to use a lot of the cilantro crema. - Rip and dip bagels (5/5): Minimum 2 bagels per order, really liked the sweet onoin bagel, very unique flavor. The scallion cream cheese was good, but the honeycomb butter is where it's at if you like sweet! Never had anything like the honeycomb butter before. - Cinnamon roll (3/5): An average cinnamon roll, didn't blow me away

Yelp
The food was good! Despite the small size of the burrito, it was filling. Prices were reasonable as it included the tip already. Definitely a great spot for a quick bite. I'd recommend it as a takeout option. They do have seating, but I wouldn't recommend it for studying as it can be a bit loud.

Yelp
I came to Wake and Late to see what the hype was for and because of the owners good reputation at their other restaurant BurgerLord. This burrito did not disappoint!!! Yes their menu is pricey but I'm sure the menu items are high quality because you can taste it. I am lactose so I got the bacon burrito without cheddar. I also wasn't in the mood for avocado and they gave me a discount for omitting the avocado. It was packed with crispy bacon so next time I'll definitely get the avocado to balance the saltiness. I highly recommend this bagel and burrito restaurant because it's hands down top two breakfast burritos I've ever had!!! Can't wait to try their bagels that are made from scratch daily!!!

Yelp

Yelp
Used to Be Great -- Lately, Not So Much I first tried Wake and Late in Pasadena last year and was really impressed -- their burritos were packed with flavor and absolutely worth the $10+ price tag. But something's changed since then. The flavor just doesn't hit the same anymore, and I can't quite put my finger on it. It's not bad, just... not what it used to be. Another odd thing: during my visit, staff were calling out "bagels" loudly every few minutes, which got distracting. Not sure if that's necessary, but it definitely took away from the vibe. These are a few reasons I haven't returned in a while. Maybe things have changed again since then, but I wanted to share my experience. As for drinks, the coffee is okay, but I'd stick to the orange juice -- and maybe the bagels, though you oddly have to buy them in pairs. Bottom line: if you've got an extra $20 to spend and there aren't better options nearby, it's worth checking out.

Yelp
Cannot express enough how fake this place felt. Walking in to pickup my burrito felt like I was entering a liminal place hiding a dark secret, vibes were not it. The service was nice, but the staff also felt like they were creating a facade of a welcoming place which at its heart isn't that all. It just had cult energy. The food was actually quite good thought, we got the breakfast burrito, but it was absurdly priced for the portioning. That was probably the most expensive burrito by volume I've ever bought and for that alone I can't recommend it.

Yelp
I have a new favorite breakfast burrito spot. Let's get the basics out of the way first--it's not cheap. Total came out to about $65, and parking is only street parking. Inside, it's a bit loud--the music's definitely on the higher end--but there's a decent amount of seating. The place is spotless, though, and the employees? Super friendly, all smiles, great energy. Now let's talk about the burrito. The breakfast burrito was insane. The tater tots were so goddamn crispy, same with the bacon--everything inside was just working perfectly together. Add to that how clean the spot is, and it somehow makes the food taste even better. The cilantro sauce? Fire. The chipotle sauce? Even better. We also got an onion bagel that had these perfectly caramelized onions baked right in--unreal. We ordered two cream cheeses--one with scallions (delicious), and the other one called the Lox (with salmon), and that one was to die for. They have a no tip policy which is nice, shows that they pay their employees good. The burrito does look small, but don't let it fool you, it is definitely filling! Everything was great. This spot completely changed my perspective on breakfast burritos.

Yelp
Swung by Wake and Late for the first time this morning and I had a really great experience. The staff were very welcoming, positive, and helpful. The cooks in the back all looked so happy it made me happy. The restaurant itself has a high ceiling that was dope to look up at (I know this might sound weird haha). AND we were graced by the presence of this really fluffy good girl (yes I'm talking about a dog). As to the food, I had the steak burrito. A great mix of flavors with the juicy, grass-fed carne asada standing out, balanced by the rich eggs and creamy avocado. The tater tots gave a nice crunch, and the cheddar ties everything together with a sharp bite. I also got to try the parm and plain bagels! The parm was crispy and cheesy on the outside and soft and airy inside. Paired this one with the scallion spread that was honestly perfect for me cuz I'm all about my green onions. And the plain bagel held its own as well, perfect for the sweet honeycomb butter spread, which was pretty dang delicious. Thank you Wake and Late!

Yelp
Personally think they should call it Wake & Latte. Its catchier. Are we late because we're too busy stuffing ourselves with their breakfast burritos & bomb bagels? I stopped in hoping to grab one of those bagels. Unfortunately, the minimum is two + two spreads. I wasn't in the mood for a burrito, and they don't have pastries, so I opted for Iced Vanilla Bean Latte with oat milk. It is located inside a historic building and it's spacious. The aesthetic is minimalistic - white walls & high ceilings. When you walk in you are greeted by someone who takes your order. Behind the counter is a large area where coffee drinks are made and the kitchen where food is prepared. The guy who took my order and the gal who delivered my beverage were both nice. The coffee was bold & rich, but not too strong. I didn't really taste the vanilla, but it was good.

Yelp
A bit on the pricey side and the portions are small, but just enough to satisfy your hunger. I really enjoyed the steak burrito--especially the tater tots, which were perfectly crispy. The cilantro sauce was flavorful, though I wish it had a bit more spice. My friends and I also shared a few bagels. They liked them, but I wasn't a fan; it was a little too burnt for my liking . Overall, it was a good breakfast, just a bit expensive.
